Very cool place. Believe this was, at one time, a church. Anyway, they have an excellent selection on the menu and they have juice type mixes. We tried everything. It was all very tasty. Try the bread pudding to finish it all off. When I come back, I will give a full report on the carrot cake. I heard it is excellent but not enough room left to try it this time.

While there can be a bit of a wait at times, the food was wonderful! The cafe is built in a renovated church, and while it has its drawbacks (the AC was struggling the sunny July day we visited), the atmosphere is absolutely stunning. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth stopping in for a meal!

Loved the food. Loved the atmosphere. Only complaint was that we were kind of forgotten about. May have been because there was only one girl behind the counter. We saw a couple other people come and go behind the counter but not sure what their rolls were since they didn't stay long. The garlic potato soup of the day was delish! Also, wanted a cup of hot tea and they brought me a huge box to choose from. Super awesome! Tip: It's an old building so if it's a super cold day, sit clear of the drafty windows :)

Excellent breakfast/brunch place. Coffee was not over roasted and their other warm beverages were very good. Meals were great - they were able to make originally non vegetarian dishes into vegetarian by adding tofu, upon request. Their local chorizo was incredible and worth the visit alone. Really quiet and cozy for a breakfast, definitely worth the stop.

If you plan on ordering the gyro just understand that the "meat" is a dry beef jerky type almost like crispy bacon. I probably should of ordered something else that required more preparation. Not a negative comment. Just a heads up on expectation.

What a great breakfast here! My son and I were in the area (rafting) and showed up here for breakfast. Awesome vibe, nice staff, solid food. We hung around for quite a while and talked to both patrons and staff about the area and what it has to offer. Just a wonderful little place with authentic small town feel. I would absolutely return here if I was back in Fayetteville.

My husband and I have come here twice now and both visits were lacking. The staff is pretty friendly, but they seem very understaffed and kept getting orders wrong. Both times we've come they've been out of ingredients to make half the things on their menu, and my husband has had to go with his third or fourth choice of meal. It took us almost thirty minutes to get waters this last visit, and while the food is good, it's not good enough to warrant another visit. We live about thirty minutes away, so instead of being disappointed from them being out of chicken and salmon again, we'll probably just return to Pies and Pints.

Such a cool place! The menu is pretty diverse, breakfast all day, and the coffee is really good. We went twice on our weekend trip and got the Salmon Bagel both times, it was amazing. The staff was super helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Don't regret life! Eat here! It's cute. But more importantly, the food is so dang good. I had the Tommy-Cado on a bagel instead of the English muffin. They were extremely accommodating. My tummy has been sensitive lately and this did not upset me plus it was YUMMY! My fiance had the 5.10 Special and it was fantastic! If we ever come back, we'll be stopping in.

The Cathedral Cafe's only redeeming quality is the fact that they were awarded the best business in Fayette County owned by a woman in 2010, which is prominently displayed on the menu. The food was sub par, the waitress cut me off and snatched the menu from my hands, and my slender friend was referred to as a "big man" when paying.

Got seated and food quick but then was never checked on after. Had to get up and ask for refills. Waitresses were talking to people at the counter and not guest at tables. Also parts of my meal were "runni g low" and didn't include them till after I asked and were only small amounts. Overall the food was good but they could improve.

Fine location for a delicious breakfast/brunch or an early dinner. The coffee is great, and the waitresses are always very friendly and personable. At our most recent breakfast, everyone at our table was very satisfied. It’s a great place to hangout and have coffee or to have a quick bite if you’re in a hurry. The building itself has a lot of character, and they’ve done a great job keeping a very relaxed environment. We will certainly keep going back!

We stumbled upon this place on a road trip to visit family. Everything was so delicious we now plan our travel so as to include a trip to the Cathedral Cafe. Food is well prepared, and often includes locally sourced ingredients. Service is friendly and gracious. Get off the highway, skip the chain restaurants and visit this place for a yummy, hearty breakfast.

Good vegan / vegetarian options. The tofu scrambler was very good, but it was extremely oily. I still ate it all because it was stinkin delicious. The non-dairy latte I got was also delicious. Prices were really good in my opinion, being from out of state was only about half what I pay for a comparable vegan meal where I am from in the Philly area of PA. I also loved the merch in there for the cafe and for the gorge area, shirts, artwork, etc. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

We made a trip to the cathedral cafe on bridge day, which was only our second visit & we had a great experience. The people who work there are fun and great at what they do. We had four adults and two kids. All 4 adults dug their food and we were happy campers! I had the vegetarian caesar salad. It sounds so simple right? The dressing was absolutely outstanding and I haven't stopped thinking about it. My husband got a roasted turkey panini or club, and it was flavorful and delicious. We got the hummus and soup for starters, both homemade with care, and tasty! I wish we didn't live 4 hours away from this place, or I'd be there all the time. Give this place your business, you won't regret it.

Unique venue, located inside of a renovated church, hence the name Cathedral Cafe. Offered a somewhat diverse menu however did not fit my liking. Would recommend to folks who would like to enjoy a morning with a coffee and friendly staff. Prices are a bit high, however being located in a small town, it's justifiable.

Cathedral Café is a quaint little place in a former church. If you're in a hurry this ain't the place for you. The food was really good. Our party had the 'Loaded Chicken Salad Croissant', 'Classic Rueben', & 'Hot Italian Panini' with 'Ultimate Carrot Cake' & 'Bread Pudding w/Caramel Creme Sauce' for dessert. All agreed that the food was very good, however the reason that the Cathedral Café only received 3 stars is twofold. First, the restaurant does not have a handicapped accessible entrance. If you're unable to negotiate the 4-5 fairly steep stairs then you won't be able to get inside. And secondly their beverage menu says "bottomless" sodas & "bottomless" fresh brewed ice tea, though no one in our party received a beverage refill even after asking for it. For these two reasons, I have deducted two stars from the overall rating. Truthfully, it's pretty much a toss up if I'll ever return.

I have to give this three stars only because our server acted rushed and was unfriendly. (There was another server that helped us a little bit and she was very sweet and friendly.) Our server did not come back one single time to check on us or ask us about our food. The food, by the way, was FANTASTIC! I had carrot and ginger bisque and a roast beef and brie panini. Both were wonderful! The atmosphere was quirky and quaint. It would have been perfect if our server had smiled more, acted more patient and less distracted with us, and had said "thank you" when we checked out. We asked if we put our tip in the jar and got the response, "Whatever you want to do!" We paid and got a "Have a nice day" which was nice, but we never got a "thank you" for spending time and money in the establishment. For the food alone, though, you cannot go wrong. The freshness and quality were amazing. Still on the fence about whether or not I'd go back because the vibe was just not friendly enough for me.

Won't be back. We are a family of four with a two and five year old. Went to an outdoor event in Fayetteville, and decided on cathedral cafe for lunch. We were hot, hungry, and tired. Both my wife and I were servers in the past, so we are very forgiving. However, it seems there is no process for what tables are assigned to servers. We waited 13 minutes before our table was greeted. We were ready to order, but it was obvious the server did not want to serve us or take our order, so after she got our drinks, she made an excuse and left. We waited 26 minutes before we were served drinks, and to place our order. I know, most people would have left, but our children are well behaved, and we are forgiving. Then, our server came back to inform me that they were out of CHICKEN. Seriously. I used to manage a restaurant. When you run out of a key component on your menu, you go to the local grocery store and get more. The menu is poorly constructed. They attempt to serve healthy and vegan food options, but the two are not synonymous. I appreciate what cathedral cafe is trying to do by being all local, but the processes and fulfillment aren't there.

A very quaint hometown restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We were there for Sunday breakfast en route home from visiting the Boy Scouts National Jamboree. I had the Jordan Breakfast consisting of eggs, French Toast, and bacon (I would highly recommend this choice). Our meals were hot, tasty and inexpensive. Service was great and very welcoming. The restaurant surpassed our "big city" expectations.

BEWARE OF DISHONEST STAFF: It’s taken me a little while to decide to write this review, but I was in town visiting Fayetteville approximately 3 weeks ago and left with bitter feelings about the town after my experience at the Cathedral Cafe. My girlfriend and I are both of Latino origin and we immediately felt uncomfortable after walking into the restaurant because everyone was staring at us like we didn’t belong. Our waitress was incredibly rude and didn’t offer very friendly customer service to us. The worst part about this experience was that I left my wallet on the table before heading back to my Airbnb and somebody from the staff took it and didn’t report it as lost. I returned to the restaurant an hour later and they said nobody had reported any lost wallet. In that wallet, I had about $200 cash, multiple credit/debit cards, my drivers license, personal memoirs from my trips to Europe/Mexico, and worst of all, my green card, which will cost roughly $500 to replace alone and means I’m not allowed to leave the country for around 6 months until I get a replacement. I wouldn’t be writing this review if there was any shred of doubt in my mind that I left it somewhere else, but I am 100% certain about this. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody, and much less if you’re a POC. STAY AWAY. EDIT: Seeing as the owner of the cafe has responded and says I’m making unfounded accusations, I would like to ask if the waitress/busboy cleaned up the table and left the wallet for someone else to pick up, or if they just seat people in tables that have dirty dishes left out on top of the table...?

I love coming here to get coffee and breakfast. Their breakfast burrito is huge and so delicious! They have a pretty big menu and everything is priced reasonably. This place gets pretty packed. It's where all the rockclimbers go before heading to the crag. There is a juice bar on the second level.
