Great coffee, good food and fun atmosphere! Blue moose is definitely a preference over those cheesy chain coffee places. When I am in Morgantown and want to relax and unwind a little I get my coffee here.
Went there for a first date, the barista (I'm so sorry I did not get your name!) was an absolute delight, and even helped me to pick out a drink for myself. The "dirty chai" was delicious, and I'll definitely be back! A five star experience. My date, however, was more in the one star range.
Awesome coffee shop with nice ambience. Free WiFi too.
Chai tea latte, black bean burrito and fast service.
I love Blue Moose Cafe it's absolutely delicious but this last time I went the Barista took forever
The granola's amazing! Lots of fruit and honey, great value! Great coffee too. I'm enjoying the Highlander Grogg. Chill environment.
Great, casual atmosphere with delicious coffee and amazing carrot cake. It's a place you can meet a friend or sit and work for a few hours.
I got the Dirty Chai with mocha in it and it was really good! Love the atmosphere
Nice place for coffee
Love this place its like my home away from home love the workers there very friendly
Great food and atmosphere. The crowd is very friendly. Music was amazing!!
While visiting Morgantown, I searched for a local coffee shop to spend the afternoon in while I worked on some projects. When I arrived, the staff was nowhere to be found, I had to poke around for a couple minutes to find the barista. The decor is reminiscent of an old small-town burger shack, definitely not "hipster" as I had seen some reviews state. The furniture is uncomfortable and in disrepair. I usually don't say this, but I wish I had gone to Starbucks. The prices are decent ($2.20 for a large coffee), though, and the iced coffee I ordered is good. In the cafe's defense, I was not visiting during a school semester, during which I can only imagine that the atmosphere would be more lively.
I order a vegan burger. Was informed the bread wasn't vegan. I said that's ok as it only contains a tiny amount of dairy. So I get a burger slathered in melted cow cheese. I point this out and am told I said i didn't care about the bread not being vegan so oh well. This was quite a while back. Things may have changed. Not that i will ever find out.
Best cafe in West Virginia.
Great quiche and coffee cake!
Best local coffee shop.
The Blue Moose is the the only real coffee shop in downtown Morgantown, and that's a shame. While the food is good, the coffee quality is spotty at best, and the service is terrible. It's not uncommon during the morning rush to wait in line 10 minutes just to get a cup of drip coffee, while one employee struggles to make espresso drinks and smoothies while one or two others just stand around shooting the breeze and watching. The Moose coasts along because it has no competition. I really wish someone would open a proper coffee shop with good coffee, classy atmosphere, and good service. Even a Starbucks would be an improvement.
The Dirty Chocolate Chai is the truth.
I love this place. My favorite coffee house in Morgantown. Love the orange mocha espresso. And the raspberry mocha too. Laid back cool atmosphere.
Nice people, no free WiFi.
Best dirty chai and medium-light house roast in town
Love the coffee and bagels here!
Latte good but waited foreeeeeeever for our food, which was mediocre at best. Got huevos rancheros which were made of a poached egg on black beans mixed with raw garlic, slices of avocado on two cold flour tortillas.
What an adorable little coffee shop in this charming college town! I came here with friends and we loved the large coffee selection. Wifi is free and you can sit and work on your laptop or just people-watch for hours, or a great place to meet for a first date. Staff are always smiling and friendly.
Great food. Recommend the dirty chai.
Great latte, good music, and fast WiFi after being kicked out of my hotel.
Great coffee shop downtown. One of the few classic drink coffee and study kind of places around.
Pleasant atmosphere. Even when they're busy, it doesn't take long to get served. The coffee is good and so are their breakfast foods.
Ok so this place is amazing! I was completely clueless at to what I wanted. I saw on the list of flavors for the drinks "lavender". As much as I love to cook and make new drinks, I never tasted Lavender. The awesome Barista named Kyle mentioned Lavender with Vanilla Chai (hot)! It was delicious! He also bought my spouse her drink which was Coconut Chocolate mocha to our table. His positive attitude and willingness to serve makes him so super adorable! We will visit again...and again...I will spread the word about this magnificent local coffee shop. Thank you Blue Moose Cafe and Kyle for keeping it geniue and pleasant.
Great coffee
Solid option for coffee of all flavors and styles. They have over 5 sweet options for people who like sweet and more traditional styles for folks who just want the basics. Employees are very kind. Service is okay. Never had a bad experience, but also have never had an exceptional experience. Food is good, but somewhat overpriced for WV standards in my opinion. Overall, the Blue Moose Cafe is a chill cafe perfect for anyone seeking refuge from the normal workplace with some good options for drinks and food.
Nice place to study.
Pleasant service, great coffee, relaxed atmosphere.
Staff didn't seem to want us there.
I came to this counter-serve cafe from out of town because it was close to my Airbnb. Metered parking out front. Nice quiet atmosphere. The kitchen was closed due to a staffing problem so their only food options were bagels and pastries. I asked for an everything bagel with cream cheese but initially was offered a plain bagel without topping (they fixed the order). A fruit smoothie was $4.75 and they only had pineapple juice (choices were pineapple and apple juice). I know all shops have bad days, and I must have shown up on one. Still, I would have liked a better experience.
Excellent craftsmanship with their coffee, a nice soundscape for the atmosphere, excellent free Wi-Fi (very strong and fast), and casual, down-to-earth baristas make this my coffee stop.
I crave their coffee. The staff is super cool. Their food is delicious too.
oh. my. god. hands down the best cafe i've ever been to. the atmosphere is so nice and relaxing, the food is great, the employees are so so friendly. i come at least a few times a week and always get their roasted red pepper and spinach quiche (heavenly) and a vanilla latte or chai. so so good!!!!! love love love blue moose!
This coffee house has often helped to comfort and brighten my day. A great choice!
Great atmosphere with healthy food options. Can be a long wait at times...
After sitting at a table in the back, away from everyone, and working quietly for 20 minutes..an employee (shorter red haired guy) approached me and told me “this is for paying customers only, we would like you to buy something”. I couldn’t help but think it was a joke, but I was definitely wrong lol. Since when it is a requirement for someone to purchase something immediately upon entering a coffee shop or get you’ll get harassed? To be honest, the fact that I was even approached by someone who is employed by this place is embarrassing for the business. I work out of coffee shops all over town, and have for the past year and a half without a single word from staff. I’ve always purchased coffee, a pastry, or something to eat, BUT when I’m ready to eat/drink. It isn’t always immediately upon walking in the door, but definitely before I leave for the day. Conclusion..I will not be going back, and though the employee thought he was doing the business well, he completely lost out on any of my future business and completely ruined the experience. Starbucks and The Grind will be my go to’s from now on :)
Good place to support a local business and get a cup of coffee. Update (June 2019): They have cold brew coffee now and I'm happy to report it is really good.
Quaint. Good food and coffee. Local art. GO!
A bit small, you have to order your food first before you can get a seat. The granola bowl was really good. Also had the breakfast burrito. Decided on a brownie out of all their homemade desserts. It did not disappoint.
First time trying today and I tasted the hot maple latte and iced pumpkin spice latte. Both were amazing!
Nice place. Good food, coffee is okay if you prefer medium or light roast. Great atmosphere.
Great vegan food, great atmosphere, local owner.
Stopped here on my way down to Florida and I loved the coffee and food.
Excellent latte and chai drinks. Outstanding oatmeal, waffle and bagel lox breakfast offering. Really enjoy the atmosphere and vibe of this street corner cafe. Lots of artwork currently displayed to enjoy while relaxing. Friendly baristas.
Good portions for the prices. Great taste.
This is a Morantown's sweatheart....confortable and with good stuff...nothing fancy.
Nice little shop. Friendly staff.
My favorite baristas work here! Aromatic coffee and the best vegan chili in West Virginia.
Everything here is incredible! The lox bagel is my personal favorite. Coffee is way better than anything you would get at Starbucks or Dunkin. I love the neighborhood coffee shop vibe
Love it here! Great atmosphere, and the staff is always super friendly.
Best cafe in Morgantown! Such a nice local atmosphere.
It is a quiant and very nice cafe. As a horticulturalist was excited to see their plants in the cafe were all real!
Delicious food and great coffee with super friendly service. What more can you ask for?
Service is very welcoming, friendly, and fast. One of the most delicious caramel macchiato, smooth and I could still feel the coffee taste.
Coffee is very excellent. Food was just okay.
Good coffee
My favorite latte, real coffee drinks, that taste amazing and made just the way you like them. The food and smoothies are great too, definitely worth stopping. I prefer over a chain coffee bar drink any day.
A very nice cafe with a good selection of drinks.
Awesome coffee, comfortable atmosphere
Staff is very friendly and the water is great!
Amazing staff, amazing tea, shout out to my English teacher for having our conferences here.
Delicious oatmeal with berries! Nice little restaurant offering breakfast, lunch, teas and coffees! Definitely a local favorite!
I had their iced dirty chai and it was amazing. If you're a first timer then you should try that, you won't regret it.
The wait was a bit long but expected for a Sunday afternoon. Very friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. I'll definitely be back.
I love how unique, warm, and inviting this place is!!
Great local coffee shop, whether you like it just black or any espresso drink they have it all. For those with a sweet tooth there are also delicious dessert options available to accompany coffee.
My kids love this place, the food is good as is the coffee. It's just a bit run down.
The house blend is spot on, great pastries, and staff that seems genuinely interested in helping you out. Great place for coffee snobs and noobs.
The breakfast items are crazy good, especially the quiche and french toast. Their salads and sandwiches are good and very fresh. I gave them 5 stars a few years ago, but now only 3 bc their menu hasn't changed at all. It needs an update.
Coffee late
Grab a cup of joe on the run or sit and enjoy the busy street corner view!
Nice place for a coffee, I believe I had a cafe au lait. I can't speak for the food, because I didn't have any. This place has more of a diner feel to it than a coffee shop feel. I'd come back again if I'm in town...
Nice coffee shop to hang out if for meeting us with someone, doing some work, reading, etc. Standard coffee quality
Classic cafe with funky atmosphere and great coffee always.
A delicious butterscotch toffee coffee, hit the sweet tooth bright and early
Good coffee and decent ambiance.
I really like this place. Very chill atmosphere. They sometimes have live music in the evening.
Thanks I'm iii I have an interview in the ground get home Thursday yuh hhuuyiiibijujhubojikk possible that you. Idon'twant fight to
Great food, wonderful staff, and very fair prices.
My favorite place for coffee in morgantown! Hippy place with great staff and coffee they do offer breakfast and lunch menus along with bakery items. Would totally recommend the iced mocha.
This was one of only a few places open at 8 AM on Sunday, Memorial Day Weekend. Laid back atmosphere, friendly staff. I was stuffed after the rancheros huevos but still found room to finish my wife's oatmeal. Good coffee, too!
Great place coffee really good and so was food! Friendly staff and laid back atmosphere would highly recommend :)
Love this place, it's always a blast to come here, and the staff is alway friendly. They have shows, open mic, and so much more, it's best to go to their Web page to see upcoming events.
Great place for a “quiet” breakfast and pounding on the keyboard first thing in the morning. Mellow coffee. Interesting and rather humorous to hear profanity-laced ambient music this early in the morning (7:30am)...
...noisy and crowded, had to step outside just to think...
This place has been my favorite coffee shop in Morgantown for a long time. The coffee is really good, and I've met a lot of interesting people there over the years. I don't go as often as I'd like since moving away from downtown. I'd go more often if the parking situation were better and I didn't have to deal with drunk people roaming the streets of Morgantown at night.
Delicious latte, friendly service, nice atmosphere
I heard they have rad smoothies, which was just what I was in the mood for, but when I arrived, I was greeted by a sign saying they were closed! Turns out summer hours started in May and their Maps listing was three hours inaccurate. Don't worry, I updated their hours, so as of June 18, they're accurate!
if you like bagels and pastry with coffee this is for you. Didn't like no free refills on coffee and gave you small cup of cream cheese, only enough for one side
Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. I only wish the kitchen stayed open later than 2pm!
A good place to come hang out, do your hw, etc. Never tried their food tho but their coffee is okay
Decent coffee shop with lot of snacks, lunch options. No accessible bathrooms i think. Call store to inquire
So good
Kitchen closes at 2pm besides that they are an awsome place to stop in at
Lost 1 star because of the computer hobos, please turn off router during busy time or make your computer hobos sit at bar in window. There where 4 of us & my 92 yr. old mother whom is blind, only 1 table for 2, but there where plenty of tables for 4 occupied by 1 computer hobo. Lost another star for location of bathrooms, not handicap friendly at all.
My favorite place for breakfast and coffee. I highly recommend this place. If you are from out of town you must visit this place. If you are a local I'm sure you visit often. ♡ the asiago bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese is my personal fave.
Great for coffee but don't count on getting anything else.
The best coffe shop/café in downtown Morgantown. Highly reccommend the granola bowl and coffee cake.
I love this cafe. Just a quick walk from South Park
Good coffee and drink selection. Very laid back and shabby, but I guess that is the appeal. Big with college kids and Hippies.
Food came a little slow but gave us more time for conversation. Meal was excellent, solid vegan options, staff was super nice and helpful and their cold brew is amazing!
Good place for coffee, I also enjoyed the yogurt granola. Was hoping they’d have more options with egg. Friendly staff
This is a cool little coffee shop a friend introduced me to. It's my go to place if I need somewhere to sit and get out of the elements when in downtown Morgantown. It's a cool hangout for the college students, professors, and random adults like me. I get cravings for the orange mocha espresso. You can sit for hours using their free wifi as long as you have a coffee. I love coffee and the coffee here is fantastic. Great place to meet up with friends. The staff is very cool also. If you love coffee and cool places, this is for you.
Cool place, good food. Worth a visit if you're in the area.
Love this place. It is a local spot that well represents our town. Also the quiche is amazing.
Love the spiced iced chai.
Good food and coffee, somewhat rundown facilities
Environmentally mindful cultural coffee house featuring weekly live music, literary readings, and art exhibits. Great spot for vegetarians and vegans (though, if you're vegan, make sure to ask for no cheese, as sometimes it's not listed on the menu). Pretty good coffee and teas. Nice place to work, relax, and people watch.
Amazing fresh brewed coffee and espresso made with a variety of different blends of beans.
Pictured: huevos rancheros, breakfast burrito, lavender latte, WV maple latte. The barista recommended the maple latte to my husband and I’m a sucker for anything lavender. The coffee was exceptional. I was a little bit sad when mine was gone. The food was made with fresh ingredients but was a bit bland for us. Prices were reasonable. Will definitely be back for coffee.
Solid coffee shop. You'll find all walks of life enjoying drinks and food here, so the environment isn't off-putting.. in fact, it's really neat.
First time there, we had breakfast. Fast service (and it was a full house) and food was good. I had the basil omelet with potatoes and toast. Breakfast prices seemed reasonable.
Just a great Morgantown institution that I hope my kids will go to when they're my age
Small independent coffee house that is fantastic. Friendly staff and great food. One of my favorite places downtown
This place has been an institution for years and certainly years before I first came to Morgantown. Great coffee and breakfast options. A folksy and artsy environment. A small jog from 79 but still a favorite place for lunch on drives along 70/79
Great coffee. I had a latte and sat in the window watching the wheels go round and round.
My friends took me to the Moose for their Acoustic Open Mic Night on March 13. The place was PACKED with people there to hear an array of local talent. We enjoyed all of it ... but the best was a group of 3 known as "the Holly Rollers" who performed a totally hysterical and over-the-top parody on fake tv preachers. We went back on Saturday morning for breakfast. Their french toast is awesome. The decor is sort of thrift-shop ecclectic which adds to the charm. The staff, almost all young people,is totally friendly and helpful. And oh yeh .. Gary the owner is also an incredible musician. He performed that night at well. If you go in, tell Kyle G., Kyle S., and Jen that you heard nice things about them.
Awesome dirty chai and really yummy breakfast selection. The lox bagel and breakfast wrap were both really good. Just watch out for exploding egg yolks!
Chill location w zany people relaxing all day
Good drinks, good vibes, try the wheatberry toast if they still carry it!
Has a great local atmosphere with friendly employees and fantastic food and drinks. This combined with the free WiFi makes it an ideal spot to go for a while to get work done or just for a quick snack.
Really good coffee and coffee drinks. Very nice staff. A nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee.
20/10 better than Starbucks!
One part of me adores this place because of the aesthetic and local business support. The other part of me is disappointed due to the rude customer service. I have taken my business to another local coffee shop simply because they're friendlier and kinder.
Great breakfast and coffee. Everyone we met there is super nice and friendly. If you are for a good breakfast try the Quiche.
Beautiful place and love the coffee here!
The atmosphere in Blue Moose Cafe is great. The staff is very friendly, but do not come later in the day. They always run out of product. You may have to choose three different types of bagels before they have yours. If you do get your selection, the food is great.
I've traveled around the entire country and this has always been my favorite coffee shop.
I loved my chi tea, and quesadilla...once I picked out the chicken. I'm unsure if they precook the chicken or what but the chicken pieces were disgusting. Once I took them out, I rather enjoyed my quesadilla. Atmosphere was relaxed and there were many coffee/tea options. Service was nice.
The iced coffee made here is THE BEST.
Very cute little place, delicious oats with granola/berries, cold brew is excellent!
I don't know much about coffee, but it's a nice local spot.
Very friendly and attentive staff, great food and atmosphere
