Great little coffee house on Western ave in the north side of Pittsburgh. Brewing Verve coffee out of Santa Cruz CA. Delicious assortment of pastries, interesting coffee "cocktails", and friendly baristas. Local art on the walls and ceramics for sale. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Great matcha latte and cozy little coffeeshop.
Lovely hipster coffee shop
Really good tea! Definitely going to keep coming back
Great little spot with good coffee!
Good coffees and dietary friendly food options!
Hipster hangout. Slow brewed coffee, friendly staff and local fare. Worth a visit if you are in the area.
Favorite go-to coffee shop. They have matcha lattes, tea, and quality coffee (and espresso shots
The service is awesome. Nice atmosphere.
Worst coffee shop I have been
Expensive. $20 for a 12oz bag of coffee (not even a pound). Slow service. No acknowledgement of customers as they walked in or waited on line.
Got here on a Sunday around noon to get some work done with a friend. Had to wait a bit (about 10 minutes) for two spots to open up. It's a cute coffeeshop with a light blue theme going on.
A nice coffee and tea shop located in East Liberty. The store is brightly lit with natural light and has a comforting minimalist decor. I had one of the oolong teas and it was delicious. The staff seem very friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to have a quick cafe stop or have somewhere to sit and read for a time.
Very nice cup of coffee, latte and lite fare!! Check out when they have the food truck parked outside!!
DELICIOUS AND GREAT SPOT OUTSIDE FOR PEOPLE WATCHING !
Nice place
Liz "The Sunhat" Kastein deserves a raise.
Camryn best barista
We're here for a chocolate making class which is pretty neat. Like any coffee house, expect a bit of a price tag on the drinks but they're very good. Thankfully, their drip coffee is reasonably priced for someone like me who doesn't want "Grown-up chocolate milk," which is actually a drink name. The cold brew coffee process is interesting and also on display as you add cream and sugar.
Really nice, warm and comfy
they have a caffeinated hot chocolate for adults (?) that looks very cool but is "for here" only.
went here before with a couple of friends. the energy there is very interesting and I love the choices there.
Very friendly staff, lots of light, and the cold black tea I got -- summer lemon -- is excellent. Slightly lemony, but primarily a good black tea. Nice place for Shadysiders to stop en route to or returning from a walking trip to Whole Foods. I didn't think the area needed another coffee shop, but this is a worthy addition.
Amazing place to cozy up and study or meet up with a friend. Very reasonable prices ($2.09 for a coffee w/ tax). They offer many vegan options for both baked goods and drinks. The employees are wacky-fun and the owner clearly has a well thought out business. Only thing is in a college area having later business hours would be a nice bonus. Overall an awesome little coffee shop. Would recommend to anyone! Clotted cream for their scones is one of my favorites!
In the immortal words of Action Bronson, !@$! that's delicious.
Superb coffee!
Amazing coffee, great atmosphere, easy to use booking system
I liked it! Spacious, well lit, communal seating and urban simplicity at its finest. The drinks were good and fair priced, will definitely be visiting again.
The espresso is the new gold standard for me. I never knew straight up espresso could be so good! It doesn't have the negative side effects that coffee normally has on me (normally coffee is a laxative and gives me headaches). The grown-up chocolate milk superimposes hot espresso and cold chocolate for a unique drinking experience that starts off with espresso, turns into the duality of espresso and rich chocolate milk, and finishes off with espresso. It's a well thought out drink, and people who knock it or do something silly like try to mix it and end up with a lukewarm drink don't get it. For those who would rather have something sweet and coffee flavored, the affogato is also something to try. I usually just mix the ice cream and espresso and drink, which works fairly well, though many people just drink the shot of espresso and eat the ice cream separately as a palate cleanser. The scones and clotted cream are a unique blend of american-style flavored scones with english-style clotted cream, resulting in a rather delicious mixture. I personally enjoyed the lime and white chocolate scones. The tea is of good quality, and it's notable that you get a timer for the perfect steep. The only point of improvement I would like from ADDA is a larger selection of teas, with more loose leaf varieties and more chances to try out esoteric teas, like jasmine dragon pearl tea, or the like.
Great place, great selection, good for working :)
Awesome awesome little shop! Unique and good vibes all over. Staff was incredibly friendly and offered helpful recommendations to better our drinks. Had the Pea Blossom Matcha Latte which was out of this world. My lady had their Chai Tea which she loved. I'll definitely be visiting this place again. Would go out of my way to visit.
I felt the coffee was completely too overpriced and not made out what it was said to be by word-of-mouth! I also felt that a coffee/tea shop should not serve small dishes! At one point bar Marco the Livermore and adda's coffee and tea was all doing the same pasta dish A gemelli with Arugula pesto! Is there any reasoning for this! NO!
Best coffee shop in town. Great staff, great coffee, great atmosphere, lots of natural light. Very relaxed and very friendly. Enjoy the ricotta toast.
Great service! Great tea!
Very rude treatment from the barista
Great beverages and snacks. Comfortable cafe where you can work all day. Bagels from relish bakery are killer
Great atmosphere and delicious coffee and baked goods
Nice feel and wonderful place, coffee isn't amazing though.
Good atmosphere, great single origin coffee from Verve in LA. Good pour over coffee.
Atmosphere and smiling baristas
Loved this cafe! It was extremely cozy, the staff was friendly, and my cappuccino and brownie was delicious. One of my favorite parts about adda is how they dont up charge you for being lactose intolerant. You can substitute any kind of milk without a charge and I genuinely loved that.
Though their coffee is some of the best to be had in Pittsburgh (I'm a Starbucks Gold Card Holder, so I know good coffee), I find their ceramic cup circumference:diameter ratio to be suboptimal. Hence, 3 stars.
Nice vegan options
Serving Verve coffee and Rishi tea, this is easily one of the top cafes in the city. If you're into coffee this is a must visit place. The interior is perfectly executed, and the attention to detail down to the glassware is impeccable. The cold brew is fantastic, and the ginger turmeric latte is something unique to try. It's also a great spot to meet with clients, as you can reserve a table in the back via their website.
Nice little coffee shop. WiFi password as of 3/17/19 is "drinkmorecoffee" but it's extremely slow. Not too many tables, but a row of seats on the side and front, plenty of outlets
This is my favorite cafe in Pittsburgh. The coffee is great. The Tumeric Ginger Latte is exceptional. The pastries, supplied by Madeline balert, are delicious. The baristas are friendly and non-pretentious. The space is inviting and fresh, well designed. On and on, it is such a great place. I highly recommend.
Great coffee and nice people! The service is awesome. Nice atmosphere.
Chai latte was rich and foamy and had a nice, mild spice.
Try the adult chocolate milk!
Great tea
I've been to Adda a couple times. This time I bit into a kachori (like a samosa) and saw what seemed a lot like MOLD inside. I will NOT be visiting again.
Delicius turmenik garlic latte ☕
Quiet, lots of good natural light, seating is diverse in comfort and coffee is fragrant as well as their tea
Great atmosphere, coffee, vegan options, and friendly staff with personality! :~)
It's so quiet. I felt bad for having a good laugh. The tea was good. The barista was kind and quick. A great place to read, relax, or work
I had the ginger tea, it was excellent!
Adda is a nice and very homey feeling coffee shop. The chemex is quite nice, and they serve Verve coffee beans (which isn't so common in Pittsburgh). The bagels are also good, as was the homemade almond butter. Given the large space, this is a nice place for working as well as for a quick cup of coffee.
Good coffee. Pleasant ambiance. Nice decor.
Best latte in the city. Get the mocha! Fantastic working space!
Great coffee and tea, friendly staff, fast WiFi and a comfortable environment. I come often for both work and relaxation, either way it's great. Easily the best coffee in Shadyside
Fantastic cold brew, good vibes and a great work space!
Awesome location and staff. Try the matcha latte with oat milk - the BEST! Alt milks come at no extra cost.
Both the coffee and staff were great! The barista was friendly and knew there offerings very well.
Very cool coffee house. The staff is kind and very helpful. It has a really relaxed atmosphere and is a fun place to hang out.

Great coffee
I have always found the staff friendly and the vegan cream cheese bagels tasty despite being vegan cheese.
Good coffee and pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very polite and fun to talk to.
This place is nice and calm with a very welcoming staff. I recommend giving it a visit.
nice atmosphere, nicer matcha latte. A good place to sit and work.
Love coming here to study. Their mocha is amazing (they use chocolate milk from a local dairy farm)
This was my first visit. The staff was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. My friend and I ordered the cold brew coffee which only came in one size. Compared to other coffee shops in the area it was tiny. I'm no cold brew expert, but the coffee tasted a little weak (more like an iced tea). I was disappointed in the cold brew but I'd like to give this place another shot. I hope they can change the size of this drink to make it at least twice the size.
Adda's coffee is OK, but their decor and seating is very strange. Made entirely of unfinished plywood and metal, the café's interior is ugly, cheap, and uncomfortable. I don't understand what everyone raves about. In all, drinks seem overpriced and average at best, nothing special. In each of my three visits, the employees were moody. At least Starbucks has parking, furniture, and associates who smile.
Good vegan snacks and iced tea
The atmosphere is nice for working. The music selection and volume is perfect, each table has an outlet directly underneath, and there are many snack offerings. The reason for reducing a star is that the espresso is not coming out nearly as good as some of the better coffee shops in town and at this point does not justify the price. Also, I ordered an americano, which they only have one size, 10 oz with a double shot. I asked to make it a quad, which is just one more shot, and they tried to charge me $6.50 or so. They said it was the same as ordering two drinks. Nowhere in town is an extra shot worth doubling the drink price, usually it is 50 cents or $1 extra. Because this place is new I am hoping they can dial in the espresso machine to get that good crema on top and also get their pricing figured out.
Great coffee, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
The high tea service is especially delightful and a very unique selection of free of and tea that changes so you can return multiple times.
Great coffee and meticulously served in a thoroughly warmed cup.
I love this place!!
Unlike my experience in literally every other boutique coffeeshop I regularly visit in Pittsburgh (e.g., Commonplace, Constellation, Big Dog, La Prima, 21st, Zeke's, Arriviste, Delanie's), I have never connected with the staff at Adda. They always seem indifferent to everything. This is shown anecdotally in that they don't seem to have any regulars at all; at least, noone for whom they seem to make any additional effort. The coffee itself is a little overpriced for the quality (again, compared to the others, above), but I recognise that (eastern) Shadyside is in dire need of a decent shop and that they are still somewhat new. I hope they improve further, because, while I only live two blocks away, I often find myself getting coffee from elsewhere.
Never been there
Nice little hangout with good snacks. I just wish there were more seats with tables
Nice service at the bar, and really good coffee
Adda does wonderful drinks and has a nice atmosphere.
Awesome little shop. Great coffee friendly staff
Absolute worst espresso I have ever had. I couldn’t even finish it. So disappointed.
Really liked this spot and drinks. Got masala chai latte. Also curious about the ginger turmeric latte
Actually great
The cold brew was good. Curious if others have tried the espresso pineapple juice drink.
The plywood walls are too cool
Quaint coffee shop and friendly staff.
Interesting decoration and convenient location. They did, however, have the absolute best matcha latte I have ever had. True matcha flavor without being highly sweetened like the big chains.
Cute place for tea and coffee. Not a ton of seating and somewhat crowded with studying college students but worth a try. The chai latte is very good, not overly sweet and a nice level of spice.
Nice place and good coffee.
Friendly fast Delicious!
Frustratingly slow service on the day that I visited but the coffee is great!
The place is cozy and has a decent food. The place has a good amount of nice seating from small tables in the front of the store and out front. To cushioned benches with tables in the back. The service has always been nice and prompt. I've heard good things about the coffee, certainly beats out other coffee places in the area. The snacks are pretty tasty, I had a blueberry muffin which was tasty.
Definitely your choice if you are tired of Starbucks and Dunkin. Their espresso is very good and they serve it with water and a small chocolate. The place is relaxing and ideal if you want to work there. It is pretty spacious inside and it has 2 small tables on the sidewalk. Really really pretty.
Cute, quarky little cafe almost out of place in slow to change Millvale. I enjoyed my chai, but I do admit the price was a tad high for what I got, because it looked like premade liquid chai mix and just some almond milk from Trader Joe's. Still nice though.
Thanks for your hospitality today! We look forward to coming back!
Absolutely the best kolaches you can eat! It is by far a favorite place to go to very eespecially at very early in the morning. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel welcomed! Enjoy the deliciousness
Top notch coffee found in this Pittsburgh staple. Engaging and passionate baristas that uphold the highest standard of service! Highly recommend grabbing whatever they currently have on pour over, it won't disappoint.
Won't let you take their espresso drinks to go. Not because they don't have the capability, but because "presentation is part of the experience". Espresso should be enjoyed without unnecessary pomp and pretentiousness.
Super knowledgeable and friendly staff and amazing coffee
The best latte around, in my opinion. Great location.
Amazing espresso, tea, and highly informed service. Some of the best espresso in Pittsburgh and the atmosphere is unique and welcoming!
Great tea and pastries, but limited seating. They close at 6, which makes it awkward for post-work cafe dates.
Often too packed to have a seat but their offerings are so good it's not hard to see why.
Adda has the best chai tea latte. And I’ve tried a lot of chai tea lattes.
Great coffee and friendly staff. For coffee and atmosphere I would give them 10/10 but for pastries I would give them 5/10
Excellent product and knowledgeable staff. Free Wi-Fi and a bright atmosphere make this a good place to work from.
Great coffee, pricey, but worth it
Tea was delicious, service was friendly, atmosphere was very pleasant. Will definitely go back soon.
Really good coffee shop serving great coffee from Verve. It can be pretty crowded but they are fast. I really like the cookies and plating with the espresso Parking can be really tough so I usually only stop by off hours like early morning. Do not park near Chipotle in that lot they will tow you.
Good coffee. Don’t let you take pour overs to go which makes no sense, but the coffee is good so I guess that’s what matters
Awesome vibes, awesome hot drinks, including matcha & fruit treas, which are both very good. Definitely a must stop coffee shop if in East liberty/shady side.
My favorite coffee shop in Pittsburgh. It’s a good place to work and meet friends and talk. Gets a bit busy on the weekends.
BEST #1 COFFEE / ESPRESSO / AMERICANO SHOP IN PITTSBURGH ON THE EASTSIDE... TRY IT, YOU"LL LOVE IT
Excellent products and service
The service here is better than most. I see why this place has so many good reviews.
Specialty coffee is booming in Pittsburgh, and Adda is one of the better examples of what specialty coffee can be. The issue with coffee shops comes down to consistency. There are a number of shops in Pittsburgh where one can get great coffee, but less where one can expect to walk in at anytime of the day and expect a good shot or pour-over (other shops that come to mind in this category: Arriviste, Artisan, Constellation). There are also a number of shops where one can find consistency in one category (espresso) but not another (pour-overs). In this category, 21st Street comes to mind. I've visted Adda about 8-10 times. Both espresso and pour-overs have always been on point, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Plus they serve Verve, which is delicious. I'd highly recommend giving these guys a visit.
Reliable coffee house. Friendly staff and better than average drinks.
Good coffee. Too pretentious for my taste. Won't let you take your pour over to go, and won't be nice about it either. If you are looking for a place to sit down and hang around for a while, this is a fine choice.
Beautiful interior, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Free wifi and lots of outlets.
Great Cortado & Baked Denish
Really nice and cozy. Amazing teas and kachoris. They once had live music, probably was some bloke practicing but you get the vibe.
Without exaggeration, this is one of my most favorite cafes I've been to. They had vegan options which were to die for. Their donuts were amazing, their food was exceptional, especially their Tuscan soup. And of course the coffee is phenomenal. You guys got to go there
High tea at Adda was a great experience! However, in my previous visits for coffee it was always too busy with very limited seating.

wonderful staff
Cute place with great coffee and friendly servers.
I wish it were open past 6. Very friendly staff and great place to work in
