REVIEWS OF Mox Boarding House IN Washington

Danny Dannaher

I can not say enough good things about Mox. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Their events (I have only been to magic events) are well organized and are being run really well. The food in the restaurant is really tasty and a love that I can sit and enjoy my food and drink while playing games!

Joel Dornez

This is an exemplary establishment. Unique mix of games, hobbies, and food! The whole place is warm and inviting. The expertly crafted menu was filled with tons of locally-brewed specialties, vegetarian options, and unique dishes. This is one of those places you'd wished you had more than one stomach. Plus, the staff encourages patrons to try out board games from a vast selection during your meal. I came here to sell MTG cards, driving all the way from Manitoba, but I stayed for a hearty meal and good company.

Joe Ong

What a fabulous place to spend an afternoon. Lots to do. Play games, drink coffee or just browse a plethora of card games, board games and fantasy games. Highly recommended.

James To

You can play all kinds of games here. There's no sales pressure and the staff are helpful with recommendations and answers to all kinds of product questions. The degree to which they promote game playing is a service to the community.

chris kellin

Very friendly, staff greeted me as I entered the store and answered any questions I had. I'm new to MTG, my friend got me into commander recently and I was looking to upgrade a deck. Looking around, there's something for everyone here.

Nick Collins

Super cool board game / table top game store. It seems like the perfect spot to: a) peruse some potential board game purchases b) bring a couple of friends for a board game hangout OR to trial a board game c) have a date Very wide selection of games, as well as figurines and trading cards. Definitely worth a visit, and the staff there are very knowledgeable and helpful.

gülhan

Like their concept and decoration. There are various games you can try, so it’s helpful to understand the game before buying. Variety of games are satisfactory. May come again.

Eric Flapjack Ashley

Really cool place for board and card game fans! Lots of room to play and they host regular events for specific titles, welcoming all skill levels and players. Mox is associated with Card Kingdom, which is one of the largest dealers in Magic: the Gathering, and you can place orders for cards and pick up right at the store. Attached is also a restaurant/bar area that is equally as inviting for everyone.

Candy

Prime Store. I will definitely be back.

Mike Petschek

Really the modern platonic ideal for a gaming shop. The selection is great, the interior clean and bright, the staff friendly and the fact you can grab dinner or just snacks as part of your trip is icing on the cake! If you have even a passing interest in board or card games, make it a point to go here and spend an evening seeing what ships like this truly can be

Jacob Moyer

Great staff, great layout, and awesome experience for beginners and board game veterans alike. Only downside is parking can be tough for the location.

William Parshall

Nice atmosphere, large selection of games, good sized portions for the price. Bad wait staff, apparently unaware to common table courtesy and check up, aside to her tables other than mine.

Studley McQuinn

Coolest game store ever!

Victor Nelson

Lots of games. Had to have every game known to man and women. haha even had board games from when I was a kid, really cool place.

gabe ng

Great variety of games you can pickup and play. Also, great customer service.

Joe Cardoza

Amazing place to spend time at playing boardgames with friends and family. They have a small Cafe inside the store that serves relatively good food. It does get crowded on weekends though so be prepared to wait.

Grim Aeonian

Game lover mecca. Fantastic MTG card selection.

Valicetra 'rah

Amazing selection of games, books, and miniatures. Nice to be able to relax and have a bite while enjoying those games, I've come here to buy many a thing, show visiting friends from out of town, and just brows when I have nothing else to do. The food on the other hand is not my favorite, trying too hard to make simple comfort foods fancy just doesn't work for me, though others seem to love it.

masando jensen

Great place to meet people and play tabletop, card games like Magic the gathering.

Alex Loumos

Great board games store with a wide selection of hard to find games. Attached bar is a nice place for a small bite and drinks, with a large tournament room and many available tables for gaming groups and events. Able to pick up Card Kingdom online orders in-store as well.

Alex Johnson

Excellent game selection. Friendly helpful staff. Wait time for table understandably long.

JS Gotschall

Thought it was super fun! Cool place, great food, orders for cards are filled quickly. The place services gamers of all games. I have to go back for more research.....

rob weakly

Both locations are great but I prefer the eastocation. They have a better game library and larger area so they can better handle large groups.

Scott Wegner

I love to come here and play a board game from their library. The staff all love board games as well and are very helpful in providing game suggestions.

E Frahler

Mox is great! Lots of games, good food, and friendly staff. I've been twice now and my friends and I enjoyed it a lot both times.

Tif Chase

Their selection of playable boardgames alone is astounding, and their buyable stock is even larger! What surprised me the most was how incredibly tasty the food was, too! I'll definitely be visiting regularly!

Ryan M.

Super cool place to have a drink and play Magic with the bros.

Adam Billen

Mox Boarding house is a wonderful place with great staff. Consistent, weekly events and the cafe is a great place to sit down, get some food and play board games.

Matt Zaharias

Solid games store with a solid restaurant/bar attached. Lots of tables, open until 11pm and you can check out some board/card/tabletop/rpg games while enjoying drinks and food with your friends. The sandwiches are very good.

Samuel Fisher

They almost certainly have what you are looking for, food is decent and I always have a beer when I stop in. My chief complaint is it lacks the FLGS feel. It's crowded and difficult to maneuver once all the gamers have settled in but I imagine that's a great problem to have.

sarah burgart

Great place to move our weekly game night to; good food, polite but not intrusive people (there's an expectation that people will be into their games and not generally want to be disturbed), and when I have bought games from them they were helpful, sending me alerts when it was in stock, letting me try them out in the store. We did get a table in the middle of a room so there was some accidental jostling when it was busy but for the most part it is a great place to convene.

Chris Sudlow

I have not been to this physical location...but for a few years I have been selling cards to card kingdom. These guys are simply the best at giving you money for your cards and a fair grade. Every 6 months I can go through a few boxes and pull 100 bucks out of commons/uncommons. I have have used TCG player... they are horrible... always go with card kingdom.

Jordan Goetz

Great selection of games and it is cool that they allow you to try before you buy. Knowledgeable staff.

Lawrence Fosnick Davis

Cool games and space to play them.

Mary Hjort

Great game and card selection. Hand drawn tokens are cool. Staff is really nice. I like coming here honestly.

Jeanna Kaye

I went here for a company event. This is a restaurant / café that has board games for purchase and free rent. The acoustics aren't the best, so it can get quite noisy. The food is actually pretty good.

Christopher Adams

Best gaming store around! Cardboard goodness!

Amanda Innes

Incredible selection and amazing space!

Elora Hoberecht

I love this place! I come for the board games but I stay for the fun social interactions with friends and staff. I will say the food is a bit pricey and the quality is unremarkable, but I don't go here for the food. The staff here is incredibly kind and very helpful! Everyone is very knowledgeable about the hobby which is really helpful for people like me who are new to board gaming. This place is amazing and I hope it never changes.

Robert Malachek

Bought cards from them online that were listed as Near Mint. They were not. Complaint was completely ignored. Do not buy from them. After reading some of the other reviews do not sell to them. Pretty much do not do anything for this company. Horrible service.

Chelsea Yell

Such a cute place! I love playing tabletop games and Dungeons and Dragons and am so glad to have found this place. The selection is great, the atmosphere is fun, and the employees are so helpful and cheerful. Not to mention the food is great!

Ian K. Hagemann

Good games but selection has narrowed and food menu is worse than before, especially for vegetarians or gluten-free folks.

Emily

I've been playing magic the gathering here for a year starting as a new player. Welcoming community for kids to adults, new players to old. Everyone is nice and willing to help you learn. Always has a crowd of 4 plus, 8 person pods for Friday night magic draft/standard. Staff are friendly, knowledge and remember the regulars. Nice food selection to grab a bite before playing, or go with friends to borrow and play a board game. Great way to spend a drizzly afternoon and try some new games. If you're around Bellevue or willing to drive, highly recommend that location as well as it's bigger and has a better food selection accordingly.

Joe Cochran

Went there for a tournament. Went in the bar staff was rude and standoffish and were complaining about people just sitting and gaming. Went in the bar area to get something to drink and since it wasnt booze I put them out. Food was good though.

Marcus Wong

An amazing place to buy and play games. Huge selection of games, from family games, to roleplaying, co-operative, trading cards and miniatures. Well organized in different sections of the store. Staff are knowledgeable about most of the games and super friendly. There's also a cafe next door where you can borrow and play games, as well get something to eat and drink. Only challenging thing is the street parking, which can sometimes take awhile to find.

Tom Boneahawk

First visit was a blast, met up with friends for lunch, libations, and some tabletop gaming. We ended up staying six hours. Food was average but great service in the restaurant.

Robert Brace

Awesome game store. Great selection of games, many events, and a check out system to try games (in-store) before you buy. Staff are always helpful. People actually playing, in store, which creates a nice vibe. Attached restaurant and bar make it a great place to take in a game or two with some friends while having dinner and/or a beverage or two. Also have a couple of rooms that can be reserved for private events.

Trevor Bolen

Always a great place to go. They have everything you need from magic to Warhammer. My first time there was overwhelmed by the amount of stuff they have. 10/10 full recommend.

Chris Aitken

If you like board games you have to go here.

Robert Prine

Awesome boardgames and food

Peter Messina

Amazingly nice game store with a good restaurant attached.

Jeremy Park

What awesome store/restaurant! The staff is generally well versed in games and they even let you check out games for the occasional date ;). The only knock (if any) would be it's always busy. Just show's how awesome this place is.

Alicia Brown

Love the shop and the food is great! The food selection is a little different than we're used to but it is really good! We loved playing MTG while we ate. They even have games you can borrow to play while you eat. ❤

Garrett Clark

Had a work party here. Pretty good space.

Catherine Fish

Mox is saved into my favorites for good reason. Their selection is awesome, the staff are cool and they go above and beyond constantly. The food in the cafe is expensive but tasty, and you can play board games in the restaurant / bar. There are also tables inside the shop you can use to play games at. You can try before you buy a large number of games, and there are tournaments in house for a variety of games. Also there is a small bulletin board you can post your looking for group request.

Rex Jakobovits

Classic, great players and staff. Food and drinks at mox cafe are top notch. Bustling with energy. Sometimes tournaments have close to 100 people!

M Christian

Lots of great games and great suggestions by staff for a game to play while we eat (we end up purchasing every game they suggest).

Erin Vicha

This place has amazing food, excellent cider, and you can play games!! What more could you want?

Kristen Brown

Cool atmosphere and good prices. Great beer selection! Just wished there were shorter waits!

Homer Aalfs

Used to come here as a kid to play MTG and other card games - came back to sell my collection. I was blown away by how kind, courteous, and fun all of the staff members I saw and interacted with were. This place has had a wonderful atmosphere for quite a while now.

Diego Lopez

Nice place! Good amount of games and cool bar! What else do you need!?

Kelly Sandoval

Everything you're looking for, they have it. Great, knowledgeable staff.

Trevor Huffman

Good store with everything well organized. The selections are pretty good and the prices are reasonable. There are a lot of tables where you can play at.

Jeff Sorensen

This place is so cool. A game store with play areas, tournament rooms, and a REAL restaurant. The food is delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The play areas are themed and they have hundreds of free-to-play games.

Steven Stowe

Great place to relax with friends, drink local beer/ciders, and try out a game.

Gabriel Rivas

Place is always nice to visit. Has friendly staff and well stocked on any table top games & card games.

Josh Hartman

It was a dark and blustery day and I found myself seeking refuge from the driving rain. I stumbled in, and as the warmth settled into my weary bones I gazed around me and found shelf upon shelf filled with the most wonderful games for all ages sorted by genre. The helpful staff helped me find a game that looked promising for me and my entire family. I made my purchase and never looked back. Thank you for being there in my hour of need! 5 out if 5, would buy again.

Zack Eberhardt

Games are great. Staff was super friendly. Healthy food options!!!

derrick pyle

Great place to buy board games here. get a table. The food is middling; the beer list is apparently good (I don't drink beer.); the seating is nice and low pressure.

Patrick McGreevy

Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Good food and drink in the building. Competitive magic scene (local pros come for FNM and modern from time to time)

Trenton Darnell

Great game selection, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Max LaChance

Only game in town. Average prices and boring selection

Kat V.

Look up one of the many board game meetups that frequent here if you're looking for a fun group to hang out with. Staff is always friendly and being able to try games from Card Kingdom is great! I wish they had a full bar, but I get that not every place can do that. Can't wait to go back again!

Orin Curtis

Quick easy buys great atmosphere.

Josh Martin

Every game I was looking for and more! Clean, friendly and has a great vibe

Taryn Knight

We have spent a decent amount of money here on our magic collection... We generally come in to pick up our card order from card kingdom and play in the Cafe but after a few hours we were kicked out to make room for other patrons... It was rude. We had ordered over priced meh food and drink and were still treated like we were loitering. Disappointed.

Bar Benton

Incredible inventory, very helpful, always events going on. Mostly shop for tabletop rpgs and magic the gathering.

Jacob Flaherty

Truly the best game and food establishment I've ever visited. The layout is clean and well presented with plenty of room for multiple gaming groups. The restaurant side has a varied menu and great service. If this came to Portland, I would spend far too much money at Mox.

Jeff Chiu

Cute gaming store with excellent selection and a great connected restaurant with great food and beer selection.

Cyrus E M

Great selection, prices are fair, and tons of room to game in (and games to try for free)

Nico Francoforte

Excellent for table top games in store with a fair amount of space for many moderate sized groups.

A Lack of Games

This store always gives amazing service. The food is fantastic (if a tad pricey) but not even the best thing about the store. The games that they have available for free play are fun and simple, and the staff are knowledgeable about the …

Anders Rodin

Was recommended this place to gather for gaming. They have so many options. Would love to spend more time here. I went here with my cousin christmas shopping and found some awesome fun gifts. Impressive.

Jonathan Shreves

Nice folk. Good games. Decent prices.

Stephanie Scott

Easily one of the greatest places to have a fun evening in Ballard!

James Stack

Great game selection. The food at the cafe is pretty good too, although the menu is a bit limited, the prices are pretty high, and the service can be pretty slow. But being able to borrow and play a wide variety of different board games while you order and eat is pretty awesome!!

David Han

A bit smaller than the Bellevue location but that is a given since it's in the Seattle area. Staff was very nice and helpful and there were many open areas to play games. It's also very close to the main Street in Ballard so feel free to check out the area and come back for some fun!

Diane Thach

Amazing selection of games and the food is delicious! The games are competitively priced to what you'd find online, so might as well support them over the big guys! I love that you don't have to purchase anything to play a game you've been interested in, but if you dine in with them while playing a game and you like it you can receive a discount!

Devon Anderson

One of the gems of Seattle. The service I've gotten every time I've been here has been incredible. Their weekly tournaments and activities bring in tons of people in the community. Their bar area seating is quite popular so plan ahead if you want to drink. But you can order food while still sitting inside the board game shop section so you've got options. Ask the people behind the counter for some game suggestions for you and your group, they can generally feel out the vibe and give you a killer suggestion. Have fun and order the nachos!

Seth Oberst

Bellevue is better if you can make the trip! Still a great spot though

Tiffany-Ashton Gatsby

This is nerding at its finest. Great draft rootbeer. Nachos were an awesome value and pretty tasty. Enough to share with a few people. Coffee good, too. Pretty affordable afternoon, overall.

Ben Curtis

Incredible board game central and bar. Makes for both a great weekend evening and slow afternoon.

JJ Lanza

Mix Boarding House is a great gaming store. It is the physical home of Card Kingdom for all your Magic the Gathering needs. Staff are very knowledgeable, extremely helpful, and very friendly. This store also serves as a place to gather and play your favorite board, card, miniature, or role-playing games. Highly recommend visiting if you are a game enthusiast.

Daniel Yager

This place is amazing! It has a massive selection of board games and you can play anywhere within the store and cafe. It’s hard to get into the cafe on weekends though due to the popularity and people playing board games all night.

Pete Heine

Great place. Service is excellent work staff and servers taking a real interest. Food and beer selections are excellent. Mostly it's a great place to hang out with friends, play some games, and buy them if you like them.

Pipsqueak

Good food. Great atmosphere. And fun games

Kyle Dean Bauer

Absolutely fantastic! A marvel. Ill be back once I can put together a physical copy of my gold ranked Sorin/Aerialist Arena deck.

Adam Koebel

world class game store, absolutely

Joey Romness

A board game/tabletop geek's paradise. Enough said. I love it here!

Edgar Quintero

Love this place. Good food and drinks and awesome board games.

Kelsey Welsey

Awesome little place to gather and play magic

Chris Davis

Cool game store with an attached pub. Decent selection of beer, although a weak showing for dark beers. Good food. All the wait staff has been cool every time we've been. Check a game out of the library for free. If you like it, you can get a discount on purchasing a new copy for yourself. Always plenty of games going on to watch if that's your thing.

Yugina Yun

Had such a fantastic first visit to MOX! The staff was very friendly and the food was surprisingly really good! Loved the beer list as well. (Expect a wait for a table with food) We were able to play our favorite party game with food (Hellapagos) and the staff recommended the cutest game about biosphere that was not yet released. Will happily stop by again my next time In Seattle!

Brooke Loving

Large and happening game house with knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. In-house cafe available with gluten free and vegan offerings. LGBTQ friendly.

Josh Jelin

One of the first gaming bars, there's a reason why so many folks have copied this model. If you want to play board games in a busy bar, it'd be hard to do better. Consider renting a private room if you have a big group (6+).

Rachael Amundson

Restaurant/bar and board games shop.

Berndern Hax

Great service and excellent selection of minis. Food is aliitle overpriced, but what bar doesn't have that problem?

Ian Caldwell

I love Card Kingdom! This is what every game shop should strive to be!

Timothy Twogood

Stopped in yesterday to ask a question about Magic. Needed a rules clarification, but was told by Cooper that the people working here whom would be able to answer were being paid to do other things than clarify the rules of a game they sell, and made it seem as if I was just there to waste time. It then felt like I was pulling teeth as I tried to figure out if there was a better time for me to come back. Instead I was told to email, and maybe the representative will spare me some of their personal time. If you're in the business of selling and hosting games, it would make sense that your customer service would be helpful in learning the games you sell. That's how it is where I work with the products we sell, if you're buying it or bought it and have questions we try to help you out. Otherwise you may not come back and buy more of our products.

Al Høknes

Review for selling cards via mail. They hype themselves on fairness so I tested with a small sample of my cards, hand picked at NM or better. Most never played items. As I suspected they received the cards and devalued them by almost 10%. Don't answer support tickets either. They pay quick hoping for no argument. After reading reviews on a few sites they pretty much mirrored my poor experience. It's well worth the extra time to sell on ebay, this place is trash.

Addison Alexander

There are so many games that you can buy as well as add-ons to base games. The cafe was amazing, and for sure the Biscuit with Jam is to die for, so fluffy and big. We got a table in the evening around four, and ut wasn't a long wait at all as far as Sundays go. I'd advise you to get a sharper cheese on the Grilled Cheese though (provalone wasn't as flavorful as cheddar would have been), and the applesauce had a delightful cinnamon flavor to it. From my partners perspective. He enjoyed the Philly Cheese Steak, but was a bit wary of his Potato Salad since apparently it had tuna in it and that was unexpected (so if you don't like fish in your Potato Salad, go for a different side). For sure this is one of the better game stores around this area and is my favorite so far. The game stire staff was helpful and very on the ball with asking for assistance, and the check-out guy nearing our evening was really nice and funny. Thank you for reading my review!

Lucas Woolsey

Excellent Got great trade value for my MTG cards Great staff very helpfull

Matios Bedrosian

The Bellevue place is much better. Both atmosphere and kitchen (Ballard has much smaller menu and not that great quality). This one is just ok only because it makes up for the mediocre kitchen with just as good beer as the Bellevue place.

James

Cool restaurant and board game store where you can come with your friends or date. They have decent food and serve alcohol. They have a pretty neat collection of rare and random board games. The best part is that you can rent/borrow board games to play while you just hang out.

Sean Freund

Cool game store with lots of space to play Warhammer, D&D, MtG or any other table top game. We checked out a board game (for free), ordered a few drinks and an appetizer and spent a couple of hours hanging out and gaming. Everyone was in a good mood having fun with friends.

J. C.

Super fun! Love that you can checkout/play board games with your meal and/or drinks. Good selection of games; good food!

Mikhael Gorbachov

If there is a better lgs, it must be in heaven. Card Kingdom is unbeatable

Saul Morales

Fantastic Hobby Gaming store in Seattle.

Louis

Great place to have a drink and play board game at the same time

Alberto Gonzalez

Best game shop I’ve ever been to. Great place if you’re into board games or magic the gathering

David Bruton

Great place to stop by, hang out with some friends, and learn a new game. You can try out any game in their game vault, and they provide some great recommendations! They're got a huge selection to purchase from. Their cafe/bar is connected so you can play a game in the shop or cafe. Keep an eye on the crowd though, and don't fill up the cafe playing if there's a good number of people waiting for your table.

Olivia Heath

Fun place to play games with friends

Jimmy Son

I got a nice espresso, and great service, both in the restaurant and the store. The place has great atmosphere, seems like a fun place to play a game. Some of the booths have a curtain for a bit of privacy while gaming, a nice touch.

Bridger Lewis

A wonderland of games, miniatures, books, dice, and anything else Tabletop game related!

Mikayla Prementine

Really nice shop and restaurant, formerly known as Card Kingdom. Very busy though! If you don't like crowds get your gameware off peak hours.

Michael Barto

Staff was super helpful and made a bunch of cool recommendations. I also like that you can try out games here.

Marie Belisle

Mox is amazing! I love going to Mox. They have a huge selection of board games you can try in store with no purchase, and you can stay for hours (as long as you find a table). The food in the restaurant is so good too! And there's room to …

Misha Stone

I love this place. I won't lie, the board game library is the big draw. With the incredible selection that Card Kingdom has, it's hard not to find something to enjoy with a date, the kids, or a group a friends. The atmosphere is classy …

Morgan Jones

I had a wonderful time here. The assortment of games was cool and I liked the food that was offered, although limited. I especially appreciated how helpful and nice the staff were.

Matthew Dobel

This place is my favorite in Ballard.

Jacob Zuvanich

Great selection of games for purchase and in the rental library. Staff is always helpful.

Caleb Hou

The best board game shop in the Northwest, probably! They've got food, informative staff, games to try, competitions, and more!

Rae Hughes

Great game store, excellent selection and knowledgeable staff!

Gabriel Pratt

Great selection of tabletop games to buy. Top notch, trending games and old classics. The bar has a great vibe for playing said games. Good drink and food selection. Be warned there is frequently a long wait, and because the tables are mostly for playing games it can be difficult to judge wait time. Support your local game stores, this one is a gem (or maybe a dimond) and we should try to keep it around.

Morgan Cesa

The best place to play M:tG and board games in town. Food is pretty good (way better than other similar establishments), and the employees are always helpful in finding new games that I might like. The shop is clean and well-organized and their tournaments/events are always well run.

AJ Reardon

Great selection of board games, pretty strong tabletop RPG section. I don't play CCGs or miniatures but they have those, too. Staff are friendly and helpful -- lots of enthusiasm and none of the know-it-all attitude you find at bad game stores. Best of all there are lots of test copies of games which you can play. Food in the cafe section is more of a 3.5-4 star experience but the tap list is usually full of exciting things.

Torin Smith

Best gaming store in town. A true legend!

Nicole Solano

I love Mox, I've bought many paints and miniatures here. They have a wall of miniatures for tabletop role-playing games - a lot of which are really cool and reasonably priced!

Katherine Cross

One of the best places for tabletop, RPG, and wargaming in Seattle. With a wide selection and friendly staff, it's ideal for both neophytes and gaming veterans. The café is a great place to game and enjoy a tipple.

Amelia Davis

Great system for trying out new and popular tabletop games! Chill vibes

Nate Y

Played in the private game room which allows for alcohol for $30/hr. 10 ppl tops because of fire regulations. Service was ok. Game selection was fantastic. Food was absolutely terrible. Had the worst affogato ($6 + tax) in my life.

yr deervvitch

Its Mox! It's great, tons of cool games and easy recommendations from the staff

Ammohawg Lawrence

I like it! A bit of an effort to get to from I-5 if not used to Seattle.

Daniel Nash-Mendez

A must for casual (and serious) board and card gamer. Great food and friendly staff to boot!

Nate Scheidler

I have been to Mox several times. Great food, amazing staff, marvelous energy. No surprise it’s frequently crowded by awesome people. Was super happy to find a table playing our game Hellapagos on this visit!

Nita Luiz

This place is essentially a board game shop, that lets you come in and play games.. for Free. They also have an adjoining restaurant where you can order food from. There's always a long wait to get seating in th restaurant because people tend to get a table and be there until they finish their game. However they do allow food in the gaming area, Alcohol isn't though. They have a huge collection of games to choose from and a lot of tables to seat gamers. I used to love this place and it absolutely breaks my heart to reduce two stars for this place. Two reasons: Food: The food here is bad and overpriced. They recently changed the menu to add new dishes that they don't know how to cook. I ordered the Massaman curry which was NOT Massaman curry at all and was also the worst tasting curry I have ever had in my life. I couldn't even get through half of it. This horrible dish costs 15 dollars for the veggie version and for any meat they charge 4 dollars more!! WTF? We ended our meal with a chocolate-coffee dessert thing that was as hard as stone. We asked the waitress if she could warm it up for us, but she gave some reason about being unable to do it in the oven and not having a microwave. Gaming helpers: From previous experiences in Mox, the folks in the store have always be friendly, patient and willing to help out and explain game rules. This time we approached a guy in the store to explain a game to us and he flatly refused citing that "he can answer a question, but not help us learn a game". Maybe they have changed their helpfulness policy here but in all of my previous experiences in Mox, the staff has be great. Its sad that it has now come to this. I still love Mox for the fact that you can just walk in and play games for free. But there is a ton of room for improvement when it comes to food, price point and service.

Gary Kuyat

Nice selection of games. Pub food. Staff don't chase you. Parking sucks. We had a great time!

Rowen Scout

I love Mox! Great MtG hub, food, beer, wine. You can also borrow games and try them out :D

Not enough good things to say about this place. It has caring and friendly staff, provides a wide assortment of games to borrow for free, has great Magic the Gathering community and would honestly be considered amongst the best places in the world to play Magic at. Their food and coffee is great. Rotating menu and taps for beer. If I could give them 6 stars I would, as I am a regular here. I recommend you consider becoming one too.

The best board/card/table top gaming location in all of Western Washington! You can try virtually all the games before buying them, and the staff is very knowledgeable about each game. Also, with Cafe Mox attached, you can eat and play …

Love this place! Great staff that can recommend new games (or just what you're looking for), you check out games to try out, get new ideas. Plus you can enjoy a beer at the bar.

There's something for everybody here. Whether you're a seasoned trading card aficionado or just coming for a drink and a round of board games with friends, Mox has it all. Food is good, drinks aplenty. The actual stock of games available is enormous, plus the shop side has a huge selection of games and cards available. Check for local weekly and monthly tournaments for Magic the Gathering and more!

The best LGS I've been to. Travelled from Vancouver for a con and made sure to make a stop here for a prerelease.
