Always wanted to try this place, so my mom and I finally did in order to catch up! Super cute inside, the employees are super friendly, the decor is fun, and then environment is very relaxing. I can see it as a relaxing place to catch up with friends or even grab a cup of coffee and study! Definitely try this place!
I'd rather go next door and eat sketchy gator nuggets at Thirstys than wait 20+ minutes for a slimey breakfast burrito.
Locals cafe, great coffee better ice cream
The Forest Hill Billy's was delicious, had it with the espresso oreo ice cream, whipped cream and caramel. Must have again soon
One of my favorite places in RVA. Great ice cream, coffee, and beers. Family and pet friendly.
Cute little gem, great coffee and excellent food.
Great community space with a little bit of everything for everyone. Food, beer, wine, coffee, ice cream; they have it all. It can get really sparse for seating sometime but that is half the fun. Really awesome place.
They were one of the only places open on a snow day. Their ice cream is really good and the staff is kind. They were very busy, but the wait was not long and the drinks were made well.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Great food. Great beverages.
Amazing food, coffee, desserts, smoothies, pasteries!
Homey place with good coffee, food, and engaging people.
I got their tomato basil wrap. Absolutely delicious! The service was excellent, I love the overall vibe of the place and how accommodating the employees are even during rush hour. Definitely will be coming back.
Nice neighborhood spot. I'm not a coffee drinker but I love their breakfast burritos and teas. The golden latte is also really yummy. They have pretty cool music here many evenings. There is indoor and outdoor seating and the outside area is dog friendly.
I had the bagel/lox and cream cheese on onion bagel, absolutely delicious all ingredients were fresh !
Love the atmosphere. Very popular with the hip Richmond crowd. Indoor and outdoor seating.
Great chill atmosphere and quality coffee. Staff is very friendly!
This place makes me feel good every time I stop by. Its the great vibe created by the staff and atmosphere. You will love the coffee and the food. Easily 5 stars!
Great food and a great atmosphere!!
Delicious ice cream exceptional service!
Awesome local spot. Feels stuck in 90s in a good way. It has a great beer selection, yummy ice cream, and an array of coffee drinks. The staff is very friendly.
Go see Will H. here! Great guy that is always finding new ways to please the local community and neighborhood. Good pastries, coffee, beers, ice cream, and a hip vibe - fun - go here and you won't regret it.
One of my favorite little discoveries South of the James. Great health and casual meals, wonderful coffee and milk shake, nice beer and wine selections. But above it all is the fun, not too loud, entertainment that you'll find here.
Delicious food, friendly service, and warm atmosphere. I was able to meet with a friend to get some work done, and it was a smooth experience.
Perfect neighborhood coffee shop. Staff is welcoming and kind. Excellent coffee and food. Fun band on Friday mornings!
Good for what it sets out to be. But if you drive a pickup, you might want to encase it in bubble wrap and lube before you try to slip it into any of the tiny, precious few parking places. And street parking is not an option. Tucked into a little alcove across from Forest Hill Park, it's an okay place to hit if you happen on it by chance, but as a destination from other parts of town, probably a tossup. Still, I would drive across town before setting foot inside a Starbucks. (Originally posted to Yelp 10-12-2015)
Small portions... a little pricey. ..tiny venue but always great live music. Food and service varies depending on the staff.
Always something happening here. great service, selection and smiles. Diverse booking keeps the entertainment varied making it easy to look forward to coming back over and over again. A+++
Third time that they've either added a tip to my takeout food or asked if we wanted our dollar change back. Server of many years here and am very generous with in-house orders. When I called about the discrepancy between my receipt and what was charged, the manager told me they could have just punched in the wrong buttons and to bring my bank statement up there. Big bummer since it was one of my favorite local hangouts.
Cool local spot with lots of drink options. Wide selection of baked goods on display and breakfast foods available. Seating is limited inside, outside tented area offers a lot of seating. I like visiting here to grab to-go coffee and walk over to forest hill park.
Awesome!! Arcade game tables, lounge area with small book library, outside seating separate from smoking area all very welcoming. They also have different baked goods every week and cool local products. Their coffee is always amazing, as are their coffee smoothies. And a delicious selection of food!
Great neighborhood coffee shop that also doubles as an I've cream parlor and triples as a bar! It's the best of all worlds! Try a beer float with the chocolate malted espresso ice cream and a stout beer... So good!
What a nice little coffee shop! The atmosphere is laid back and the staff is super friendly. The decor is eclectic and fun. They have some gluten free options to go along with your favorite coffee also. Parking was a little challenging and when you sit outside, the traffic can get a little loud but not enough to harm a conversation.
Awesome chill spot. I love that they allow my dog on the patio. Great coffee!!!
Staff doesn't care about time. Took over 10 minutes for a bagel and it wasn't busy! Dint want to know how long it takes when they are busy
Great little coffee shop..yummy cakes & pastries.
Really liked the Ruben and the ice cream. They had live Jazz music the day we went as well, it was awesome. Seating is a bit limited but it's such a cute quaint place with good food, good ice cream and good service.
Pretty good neighborhood eatery. Popular features are dog, child and bicycle friendly. Will go back.
If you haven’t been there, run over! Super chill atmosphere. They have a LGBT sticker on their door, and are very welcome to everyone. Bring the kids for some ice cream or a friend for a glass of wine. Not to forget the amazing selection of coffee. Warning it might be busy. Worth the wait*
Great little spot. Made me a eggs and bacon without the bread, super accommodating.
Awesome little shop. Cozy environment with live music often as well.
Super hipster and great
Such a cute café! Just as good as I remember it in college when they were off Main St a block behind my apartment. But, now they serve wine/beer too! Awesome spot!
A different sort of coffee drinking experience in the same way that all the best coffee shops are different. Walls covered with eccentric/fun adds, memorabilia, ect. A staff who looks consistently vegan, and every delicious and fresh coffee option. What does make this coffee shop different than all others is the wide selection of craft beer. A great stop for a night shift employee trying to ease of the work-night.
They are doing the best they can. Support local or all we will have left is Starbux on every corner and their terrible burnt tasting coffee which is overpriced beyond any reasonable measure of the imagination. I like Crossroads because they support local musicians also
Oh my goodness.... the quiche! The cold brew coffee! Cool place and great stop after the farmer's market.
Ice cream haven, the variety of flavors were great at least you will be able to try some weird flavors for once, and honestly it's not that bad. place was clean as always.
Friendly staff, great food, and live evening music!
Great neighborhood coffee shop in a great location. I love biking here on sunny Sundays for a beer and a bagel with lox and the works. They always have a varied and large draft beer list, plus a large selection of bottles and cans. They use Cupertino’s bagels, very much to their credit. They also have ice cream and pastries, which I do my best to avoid for the sake of my waistline.
This rating is not based upon the business itself but the inconsideration of the customers . I understand our neighborhood has street parking but shouldn't the residents of this community be able to park somewhat near their homes. This business has great parking available but even when they aren't packed some customers still park and block our steps and walkways. We think this is a nice feature to the neighborhood however since we respect each other it would be nice if the visitors of this business respected us. Thank you.
This is a pretty cute, rustic-looking spot for ice cream and coffee lovers. The staff is very friendly as well and it offers a few details that other coffee shops don't, such as a nice projector-powered screen or an arcade console with a few games. Their ice cream is bought out from a local store (Bev's ice cream), so it's an excellent way of helping local businesses too!
Quaint unique place. Nice interior with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff..seemed a bit cross to be honest. Got some water to go with my food & saw it was full of dirt, debris and hair, an unpleasant surprise. Ice cream was good , though the selection is much smaller than I would expect from a place that has Ice Cream in the name.
Good local spot with vegan and gluten free options
Prolly Richmond's best little coffee shop. And they have live music!
Cool dive. Yummy food and dessert and cool musicians. Two
Cool place! Was passing by Richmond, and was lucky there was a great live band playing. Great drinks. Staff was friendly. Nice environment.
A little crowded, but great coffee!!
This is my favorite coffee shop to hang out at. Great coffee and snack options, and they have an awesome rotating beer selection. Perfect place to hang out and have a beer in summer.
I love this place. Try the Reuben!
Very cozy place to get coffee
Nice and quaint a bit expensive decent food.
Good times,greater food fantastic staff
We always enjoy ourselves
I have lived in Richmond for 7 years now and I absolutely love Crossroads. They have amazing coffee choices and the ice cream is so delicious. No business is perfect, but this business comes close. I used to love spending days at their old location, near VCU campus, studying. I honestly miss how homely it is and the new owners/business that took it over a few years ago made it so "sterile" feeling. So, know that when you come here you're participating in a piece of true Richmond culture. The people are tatted and pierced, the coffee is fantastic, and the ice cream is beautiful! #Love.
Only downside here is how busy they can get. Going during nonbusy hours provides a quaint and quiet experience.
Lovely atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food. I would recommend this place to everyone!
Very crowded place, but coffee was good.
I have been going here since it opened over 10 years ago. Food is great and they have an excellent beer selection. Really cool coffee shop atmosphere and I work from here occasionally when I wish to get out of my office. A++
Food really good
It was alright , nothing too too special . Although the ambience is awesome and it seems like it brings in a positive crowd of people , the food was ok and a little too pricey for what we got . My girlfriends chicken salad sandwich barely had any mayo and was dry , but it looked very good it was an interesting chicken salad recipe . My black bean burger was good , still not enough mayo . Idk , maybe we're mayo feigns but they were lacking greatly in the mayo department lol but the ice cream was good ! over all if you like karaoke and other tacky fun bar ideas then this is your place.
Love the Cappuccino Oreo Ice cream!
Haven't been to xroads in about 2 yrs. It was like going home. Got kids 3 ice creams for lunch and a coffee for myself. Chillest place in Forest Hill.
This is a great local business with some awesome food choices and great service. It appeals highly to the hipster crowd, but they treat you great no matter who you are. This place is kid and dog friendly, and has a great selection of craft beers and ice cream. They also have a growler if you want to take some beer that you like home.
Great coffee and ice cream! Definitely one of the best coffee shops in Richmond
Great food atmosphere and coffee
Nice atmosphere, although a little short on space on the inside. Parking was a little tricky too, but the food and service were great.
I’ve only tried breakfast here but it was always good. Parking is terrible, but it’s a cool place to visit when traveling through Richmond.
Great coffee and food served up with an aperitif of attitude and a side of scoff. I reluctantly return on occasion when I need my customer service a little more on the acerbic-side, otherwise I stick with the Starbucks when I want espresso. It's more professional, pleasant, and similarly priced, but I guess you don't get that feeling of moral superiority you get when going local and that most of this place's employees seem to be absolutely full of. Another thing to note is their expectant attitude when it comes to tips. There's a tip jar, just like any establishment. But if you don't tip here, you may get some shade thrown your way, usually in the form of non-verbal communication by a bewilderingly entitled and arrogant barista. I'd give negative tips if I could. So beware! Too bad this place doesn't have any local competition that could have more class and less sass.
This place knows coffee. Thank you for brewing my coffee with love. Thank you for the great atmosphere, bakery items, small-batch roasted coffee, excellent seating, and great location.
Crossroads looks like it's in what use to be a mechanics garage. One of the bay doors now serves as a large open air window. Both outdoor and indoor seating available. There's a very good selection of sandwiches, sides, desserts, coffee drinks, milkshakes, smoothies, drafts, and wines. I ordered a club sandwich, which was delicious and served as a large portion. The sandwiches have the option of either fries or fruit (or pay a little more for different options). There are different events during the evenings, such as live music or karaoke. Definitely a creative, lively, and quirky atmosphere. Would definitely visit again.
The crossroads has a good little men, and it close to you if you re s ui j?mm bbn bbn j
Crossroads is the best cafe in Richmond! Great coffees, teas, and smoothies, amazing soups, and really delicious sandwiches. Oh, and they serve wine and beer! Always good selections on tap. They also play great music and have a super pleasant, dog-friendly patio. At night they have lots of live tunes and other events, and the staff is friendly, with great service and always a welcoming vibe. If they start seeing you in there repeatedly, they'll be sure to learn your name and welcome you when you come in. If you have kids, they even have children's books and table arcade games to keep your little tykes occupied. Go check it out!
Ice cream, sandwiches, gluten free and "regular" baked goods, and very good coffee at reasonable prices.
Great coffee and ministry.
Best place to relax and have a beer or coffee in Forest Hill. Live music some every weekend. Open mic night, karaoke, and more. Be patient if your food takes a few extra minutes to come. They have to prepare it off site because they are waiting to expand to a full kitchen on site.
Very nice people there
Great atmosphere, food and coffee. Love the entertainment!
Nice little spot, was my first time coming in! Had ice cream was great!
Coffee and ice cream and beer. What else do you need?
All around great place. Friendly staff and good food/drinks. Get the lox bagel, you won't be disappointed.
I love coming here, but every time I order a latte there's always so much foam :'( Please learn foam to milk ratio. Always a decent beer selection.
Over priced as always. $9.45 for 1 ice cream cone and one, 2 scoop cup.
Excellent vibe for writing and meeting friends.
Coffee runs to Crossroad have been part of my morning (and night) routine for several years now. Best cold brew in town, great beer selection, fantastic staff.
Crossroads really hit the spot after a day-long bike ride exploring Richmond's awesome trail system. I had the corned beef, coleslaw, and thousand island on Rye. The patio and airy environment were the perfect compliment to the weather that day, and the relaxed yet attentive care I received at the register really put me at ease. I'd also like to compliment the staff on their musical tastes. Crossroads has something for everyone; Ice Cream, Smoothies, Sandwiches, Beer, and Coffee! I can't wait to stop in for a banana, chocolate and peanut butter milkshake. Next time I am in the area, guaranteed!
Well, I went and it was my first time visiting this coffee shop. First Barista was nice and outgoing. However the blonde and the guy were standoffish..... not really attentive. They were just existing as far as customer service goes. The Blended drink I ordered was good but when I came back to the counter for another I was ignored. Shame. Brewers Cafe it is! Have a good one
I love crossroads. Every experiance I have there is a good experiance.
I love this place. The baristas are laid back, down to earth people. Good coffee, ice cream, and snacks. Will, the owner is a connoisseur of craft beers and will gladly give recommendations for his top picks of their current draft list.
I’ve been driving past this place for years and always wanted to stop in but haven’t until now. I’m kicking myself for waiting, this is a quirky coffee and food shop that is awesome. We had a delicious blond brownie with ice cream.
Very good service. I love the atmesphere as well. Great place for anyone to hang out but 20s 30s and 40s definitely. I have not eaten here but they do have food and baked goods. They also serve beer. As a self proclaimed coffee connoisseur, they are not my favorite. Coffee is over priced for what you are getting. If it was a little better quality and made by the cup...pour over..that would justify the hefty price tag. Its not bad coffee but taste wise on par with higher end convenience store brew. Over all its an awesome part of my neighborhood.
Awesome just awesome
Atmosphere is chill, casual, good coffee and music. Cherry pie was good, eclairs was just ok.
Quaint spot off Forest Hill that is great for dates or just to chill.
Great variety of coffees and teas with Excellent service.
always love this place! priceless people and the best chai EVER
Unfriendly staff seemed annoyed that we didn’t already know what a “Reedy Creek Float” was. The cashier scooped our ice cream without gloves after handling people’s money. The float was over-filled with soda so it kept pouring out all over the place and my ice cream had a hair in it, which appeared to be from a dog or other animal. This place is dirty and gross. There are other great reviews, so maybe we just had a bad experience, but either way we won’t be back.
Coffee is good but no one waited on me for at least 4 minutes. And the dude didn't listen to my order the 3 times I said it to him. And they weren't friendly so yeah
Always a pleasure stopping in to Crossroads, whether it is to grab a beer, a coffee, a bite to eat, or even to see a show. It's a small place but there is indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a fine selection of roasts from Rostov's and a well curated beer selection. Fear not, they are not an all IPA all the time kind of place. The food is good and you can feel the community vibe.
Everything is always delicious, great folks, great coffee, delicious booze and one of the best patios in town!
pure awesomenesses. Great vibe. great staff.. no fake southern charm just nice and polite with great service. great fresh food and great beer selection. This is my go to place in Richmond!
Wonderful place. Great staff.
I have been to this cafe several times. The atmosphere is cozy, with ecclectic decor, decent customer service, and good location off of Forest Hill Road. It is almost across the street from Forest Hill Park. There is not a lot of parking space available, and sometimes it can be hard to find a parking spot. What I like to do, if it is a nice day, and I have extra time on my hands, I will park at the Forest Hill Park and walk to the cafe. Food and beverages are decent. Good selection of coffee, baked goods and ice cream. I once ordered a chicken salad sandwich, and it was good, but portion size was small, and I was still hungry. And I would not recommend this place if you want a quick bite to eat on the cheap. There is not a lot of room to sit down inside if it gets busy, and this place does get busy. The last time I was there, it was on a week day, about 11 am, when I would think most people would be at work, and Crossroads was packed with people. I'm always happy to see local businesses doing well. If there are no seats inside available, there is usually a seat to be found at their covered outside patio area.
Great selection of both breakfast, lunch and dinner options!
Great coffee, breakfast and lunch place
So happy to have such a comforting spot in the neighborhood! Great food and drink. Perfect for a friendly pop-in with friends.
I love there ice cream and the ambience....really cool...
Great food, atmosphere and staff!
Nice coffee place With plenty food options
Cute little place with excellent coffee, baked items, and yummy ice cream! A definite must!
The ambiance is lovely and easy, and the employees are courteous. However, I was saddened to see that all orders, even "for here" orders are served in disposable single use containers. I just kept thinking about all of the waste being created!
Was the best kept secret of Forrest Hill. I guess still is check out Otools and Maldinnis too.
A great place to hang out and enjoy some coffee and/or treats
I feel like I don't come here often enough. The staff is super friendly and cool. The place is always clean. Food is great and they have beer! Bagels are free Cupertino's which is the best place to get bagels from around here.
Had a really bad experience today at crossroads ! This is the second time the person that served us ice cream was so so rude. I let it slide the first time but today the lady serving us messed up our order and when we told her about it she got so frustrated and before I could tell her that ‘it’s okay we ll take it” she picked up the ice cream cup that she filled up for us and threw it in the dust bin in such a frustrated manner and gave us an attitude and blamed us for her mistake. I was shocked looking at her behavior! So I told her pick up that ice cream from the trash and give it to me and I don’t want a new one and she actually picked it up and gave to me like she did not care! Rude, racist and bad customer service. Never going back, not like it would make a difference.
A local's coffee shop serving Rostov's coffee and Bev's Homeade ice cream along with baked sweets galore, sandwiches and lighter fare (i.e. bagels and wraps). Garage doors open up to the covered patio. They have a big selection of beers and wines and pets are welcomed
Such a cozy place for everyone, adults can enjoy their coffees while the children can have their ice ream which they can choose and a variety of flavors...
The coffee is good, the service is even better and the music nights are fun and interesting. They have something for everyone, even if you don't like coffee. I'll be coming here very frequently
Wow! Urban, quirky and full of character. All the menu choices are well thought out. The coffee is excellent. The ice cream is comparable to Breusters or Cold Stone. But the thing I liked the most was the servers. As we sat I noticed that all the customers knew the servers by names and vice-versa. Go, you won't be disappointed.
This place was cute and unique just like Richmond. Lots of great choices and variety of foods and coffee drinks. Super close to the pony pasture rapids.
Turmeric latte was delicious and beautiful, served in a little mug with yellow flowers on it!
Entered near nine, it wasn't busy. Looking forward to coming back with my friends.
Great Chai Latte and the Honey Honey ice cream was subtly delicious. The giant eclair was disappointing. Dog friendly patio, fun and friendly staff.
Serves Rostov coffee and Bev's ice cream, nice selection of sandwiches, inside could use a restoration.
Talk about a hidden gem. A little slow on the counter top service but a great coffee shop. Will be back.
Quirky cozy place. Converted gas station with concrete floors. My mocha was excellent! Blackened chicken ceasar wrap was very good as well. Desserts look amazing. People are getting to go and sit down orders. Busy but still quick on my service. Several people are settled in having mini meetings or just relaxing. Comfortable atmosphere to relax in.
Great coffee!
Friendly staff, great service, awesome self service coffee station w tons of options. Their bagel sandwiches are delicious! Very cool atmosphere with wonderful outdoor seating
Best chai I’ve ever had
Amazing bagel options. Service was patient and polite. Great selection on coffee choices. This is my second visit, and I was just as pleased as the first visit. I would recommend to family and friends.
Endless options and friendly open staff. Parking is tricky, but the overall experience is great!
My favorite coffee shop in Richmond. This is my second time here. Try their Carrot Bran early in the morning. It’s super fresh and very tasty just like other things they make.. They have old school arcade game tables as well. I just feel happy here :)
Food is excellent. A bit of a wait, but it was busy. Nice atmosphere. Wait staff could be a little friendlier.
Great food, cozy atmosphere, and awesome music to enjoy with some delicious drafts.
Their coffee is really
The hand scooped milkshakes were delicious. They also have pies, pastries, beer, wine, sorbet, smoothies, coffee... the list is crazy! Great atmosphere.
Food sucks. Everything else is great! I mean, the stuff in the case is good. Just don't let them make you anything to eat besides an ice-cream cone.
We go several times a month. Breakfast, coffee, ice cream any time of the day
I really like this place, however if you want to go somewhere for lunch that is cheap and filling, dont go here. Drinks are good but not the best and service is good most of the time. Its a great place to go for a quick bite or coffee to catching up or using wifi. One bathroom for any gender at a coffee shop is well annoying when having to wait. Hardly any outlets for your phone or laptop so dont expect to need one.
Awesome coffee and awesome service
One of my favorites! Great coffee & fantastic food! Lots of healthy &vegetarian/vegan friendly options! All-day breakfast! Very customizable! An egg and cheese on whole wheat toast and a cold brew is my go-to.
Dope vibe, very chill venue. Not really a complain but recommend promotion in other areas. If it wasn't for r/rva on Reddit I would never knew about it.
Coffee for me and ice cream for my kids isn't it great to have both at the same place plus the place is kind spacious and have a nice ambiance that make you feel comfortable...
This place is awesome. Good coffee, dog friendly covered space outdoors. The bagels are the best in town. And beer. Yes they have a small but impressive beer selection.
Best food, nice staff, great environment to bring along my dog
A small local coffee shop that serves fresh baked goods and amongst other things like: ice cream, smoothies, sandwiches, and beer/wine. They host events, which I had the pleasure of attending a few and I would love to come back more often!
Go for a walk in Forest Hill Park and then stop by this cool place. They do have great ice-cream and coffee, but also excellent food for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Beer and wine. Casual and eclectic. Bring your dog. They are welcome in the outdoor covered seating area. Limited indoor seating. Entertainment most evenings. A gem.
Easy cup of coffee on Forest Hill Ave. A free refill makes the $2.00 acceptable. The food is expensive with a $9 price on a sandwich but it's a fun little cafe. Parking is sketchy at peak times. Worth a visit. Tables are just 7. Don't count on a seat if company is with you. Outdoor seating is nice in 3 seasons.
Great place
Great venue, great vibe. In addition to coffee they serve a very nice selection of loose leaf teas. I enjoyed the Friday morning entertainment.
