This is a must stop on Route 66. It is a must stop even if you are just traveling down the interstate. Great food, great service.

Jody

Fun place to stop if your a Rt.66 fan or history buff. Cute, small, friendly cafe. 50’s style decor. We were there in the morning. Had breakfast. Food was good. Cafe and restroom were clean. Gift shop in the cafe. Service was a bit slow and you really have to be looking for the sign to exit if you are traveling west On I-40. A place across the Rt.66 to take pictures.

I am Rennie

PIE! COBBLER! PIE! COBBLER! Yes. You can indeed have it all. Eat all the pies. You can thank me later. Great place. Great people. Great food.

Michael Philliber

Fun environment. Classic interior right at the heart of Rt 66. The folks were friendly, service was good, breakfast was tasty.

panky wasson

This was a wonderful diner on Rt 66. Carrie was a fantastic waitress .pleasant and funny . She even told me and my son where to see long horn steers, before we left . The pie is out of this world, good! Be sure and get your picture there and at sign across street , Aiden halfway on , Rt 66.

fred keppler

Adorable cafe! The sisters who own it were very entertaining, full of stories and information about the area. Their mama's pies are A+, but I think poor Mom is going to wear out, she makes so many! A must stop when traveling along Route 66

Suzanne Curtis

Nice small Cafe. My husband enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. Biscuits were light and fluffy. Staff was very pleasant and friendly.

Morgan Griffin

This place is not worth it. The food was oddly pricey for something i could've made at home. They need a better menu. I dont think i should have to pay $6 for a grilled cheese i could've made myself. And their sweet tea tasted very old and the waitress tried to play it off and come back with another cup saying it was fresh when you could tell it wasn't because it was still gross and not warm like a fresh pot was. If they are cleaning the container then i wouldn't be surprised but 10/10 wouldn't go again

V Bradshaw

Great place for pics along US66. Classic Americana.

John Lewis

You have to stop and visit.

Ankinson Lyndon

Great place to eat

Murray Ball

Another great Route 66 stop! As the name indicates, no matter which direction you’re travelling, you’re now halfway! The cafe here is well known, well staffed and well tended. The service is great - very friendly folk - and the food was awesome. I tried a great slice of apple pie. Calling it ‘Ugly’ was giving it a bad rap

Roy Smith

This is exactly the kind of place that makes road trips so much fun. Good food, great pies, and friendly people. Must have spent a good 30 or 40 minutes talking to Dennis, who has a ton of knowledge on Route 66 and the local area. I think it's definitely a must-stop location.

Jamie Bell

Fabulous! Huge double cheeseburger, very tasty served up by friendly ladies. Chocolate Peanut But pie A+++

Liz Lowrey

Great food and service. Burgers were great. The pie was homemade and absolutely wonderful.

Sarah Lonelodge

Really good! The burgers and pie were great.

clayton weber

Good pies but service was average. I get the feeling if you're a local you get the red carpet treatment but if you're just passing thru its another story.

Tyler Hisel

Hurried all day to arrive for lunch, only to find that the staff decided to close at least 45 minutes early. Seems they don't adhere to their posted hours.

Nica Gerona

The mid-point of the famous Route 66, a quaint diner and souvenir shop. You may also sign your name on the old pick up truck parked outside, take photos on the mid-point marker or on the road sign of Route 66.

Douglas Best

I always stop here when I find myself on Route 66. It is a little bit of a tourist trap but still well worth the stop for the family. The menu is not expensive but the food they serve is very good. And you better not leave without having a slice of their extensive pie menu. Also a good place for photos because you're at the exact middle of Route 66. Easily accessible on the Frontage Road off I-40.

Cherie Blankenship

Excellent food, friendly awesome server, delightful owner/ cook! Sparkling clean! Best cheeseburger I have ever eaten! Rumor has it the pies are wonderful too! This is a gem, a must stop! Ask about their ties to the movie " Cars!"

Emileigh Latham

I've changed my mind. These are the BEST hamburgers I've ever tasted. And the pies were delicious. This cute little 50s dinner is definitely a must see. The service was great and the people were friendly. Don't forget to shop in the little gift shop before you leave.

Dora Meroney

Wonderful food and fantastic people!

Veronica Montoya

Super friendly waitress and an excellent and juicy burger with pie

Benjamin Beaver

Novelty place to visit. It's located right on the midpoint of Route 66, got a sign and everything. There burgers are great (and huge). They also have a gift shop for Route 66 merchandise. Be aware though they don't serve dinner. The doors lock at 2:00pm so plan accordingly.

Chris Seibert

It's ok.

Dina Turner

Very friendly staff and great place to stop !

Joel Hernandez

Nice stop at the halfway point of RT 66.

Bill Cain

Great pies, birthplace of Cars the movie, and campsite--not the prettiest at first glance--good shorts and laundry--well worth a stayover

DisturbedZ

Cool little place to stop and see. Wasn't able to eat due to water being down. Super friendly and I want to stop by the next time I pass by and try the food. Good sized gift shop for such a location.

Stephen Clark

Great family run restaurant! Grill is turned off at 3 while they close at 4. The ham and cheese was great and the burger patties are much large than typical sizes of the same weight.

John Fullerton

A must-do stop-over at Route66! Burgers were a bit pricy, but made fresh and very taste!

Ramon Johnston

Fantastic! Definitely worth a stop. Food and service was just as it should be. Great tasting burgers. Dare you to try the triple patty. The service, owners, were on hand and always greeting you with a smile. Can't wait to get back and try the fried balogna and the ugly pies. If you're traveling on route 66 or I40 get off and try this place out.

Brie Diamond

Wish we didnt waste time on the 5 mile detour to this place. We sat there for 10 minutes with no service. Only 3 other tables in the place and they had all eaten so I'm not sure what the problem was. Dairy Queen 7 minutes up the road it is!

Anton Partridge

A must if you’re doing Route 66! Awesome pie & good coffee. Nice polite & friendly staff. Nice little gift shop on the side to get your memorabilia of your trip.

David Hollis

A staple on route 66. Perfect nostalgic atmosphere. I stop every time I go through that area and have their chocolate banana UGLY CRUST PIE!

Iain Murphy

Sign on door says open "Monday 8-5 (No Food)" That means you are closed. The door wasn't even open to look inside. Left hungry and dissatisfied

april Horne

We stopped here while driving on route 66 from Santa Monica to Chicago. We forgot about the time change and arrived just at closing, but they were great, made us coffee and fixed some pie. Wonderful sister who own it.

Robert J. Woldhuis

Friendly staff. Nice little roadside stop! Our waitress was awesome and the pie was amazing!

avinash kapoor

Always a good food

Vickie Wyman

Excellent service! Delicious home made food!

willie klick

Great place owned and run by two sisters. Made us both feel very welcome and the cake was excellent to boot.

Riveramaui@yahoo.com Sandy

Great hide away, it's a must see, the MidPoint Cafe had the best pie, when traveling route 66 either way, there's a sign that let's you know you have travel half way to either LA or Chicago, but the cafe is a gem.

Sara Soyars

Great service! They merely switched the bread on our grilled cheeses and comped our lunch, wouldn’t hear of our paying.

Darren Byrne

Great food very friendly staff a must if doing the drive on route 66 you won't be disappointed

Annie Dunn

Hosts were very nice when greeting & the place way clean & kept up!!

Christopher Garcia

Very unique! A place you have to stop and eat at if you're passing through!

Lisa Overman

This little cafe at the mid point of Route 66 is worth a stop for photos, a snack, or a route 66 root beer.

Susan Zimlich

Excellent hamburger and tasty pies. The staff was super friendly. My daughter and I split a burger (to have room for pie) and our waitress brought it already split and an extra bag of chips.

Erin Hoxie

What a fantastic place to stop and eat!! Great rt66 stop!

Amanda Yates

Food was awesome and everyone was very friendly. Nice stop to eat at during a long day of driving. Be sure to look at when you stop if you want the burgers. They only serve them certain days.

Addie gordon

We were excited to eat here and then when we walked in on a Saturday at 3:15, they said they had closed the grill at 3:00 and were no longer serving. The website said it was open until 4 and said nothing about the grill closing. So, if you are planning on going on a weekend get there before 3:00.

Anthony Imming

The pie was delicious. A great stop for those on a Route 66 trip.

THE PHALKON

This is a cool place, a snapshot of history, if you will. I originally wanted to go here because of an article I read about this being one of the points of interests used in the original "Cars" film by Pixar (my toddler is obsessed). With my being a history junkie, especially with Texas/cowboy/panhandle/Route 66 lore, I had to check it out. So one weekend, I took my family and my parents and inlaws and we all went out to Adrian. This place was cool, however, it's pretty much just a quick day trip. Keep in mind, the population of Adrian is about 150 people, and this is literally the highlight of the town. That being said, it's a great little place. The decor was awesome, it was exactly how you would imagine a little cafe from the 50s/60s to look like. Homemade pies, burgers, sodas, all the good stuff. All delicious. The menu was limited, but that's due solely to the kitchen and staff. You can't reasonably expect a 5 page menu when the kitchen is the size of a bedroom. *BUT* Again, the food was great, the atmosphere was cool, and prices were reasonable. Finally, there was a gift shop attached. It was really cool, had t-shirts, magnets, toys, kitch stuff, all Route 66 related (and, of course, lots of CARS toys and memorabilia!). On top of that, I think most importantly is that directly across the street from the diner is *THE* Route 66 midpoint. The mathematical midpoint of Route 66 from end to end. This is THE center of The Mother Road! So that in an of itself is really cool as well. All in all, take a day trip, grab a burger, take some pictures, make some memories.

Heath Doyle

The food was average and a little pricy, but I guess you pay for the nostalgia.

Zach Shepherd

This place is a must on a Route-66 tour. The place is clean but still bears the feel of yesteryear. The menu is simple...very simple, which makes choosing very easy. The staff is very friendly and the gift shop is well stocked. Give it a shot and don't skip on a piece of pie even if you're full.

N. Daniel Barrera Aguilar

It's a really nice and cozy place. You can buy souvenirs, take some beverages and take a lot of pictures. Did I mention they have a original Cars merchandise? I loved this place

Guo wen sen國泰人壽

Good food

Jeff Pettit

Didnt get to eat here because it was closed when we stopped but still got to check out the mid-point of route 66!

Nanette Jaco

Really neat little place, so retro. The owners were especially friendly. We had a great breakfast.

brian campbell

Incredibly friendly people, food was great, just a wonderful destination! Must see!

Kim Poulsen

Very nice and friendly staff, good food and a charming atmosphere

Janice Greene

Visited today for the first time. Wonderful throwback to the 50’s. Best hamburger I’ve had in years.... and delicious homemade pies. Yum! Nice people there, owners and staff. Great little gift shop full of Route 66 gear and momentos. If you’re traveling Route 66 this is a “must stop”.

Adam Bartlett

For what should be a tourist trap, the burgers and sandwiches we had were pretty good and the pie was great. Frankly, eat here and skip the way overpriced shitty steak place in Amarillo, you'll save a fortune and get a real Texas experience. I wonder if the 1 star reviews are thinking the gas station across IH-40, as the menu was pretty decently sized for a diner in the middle of nowhere Panhandle, and the staff was friendly and there really isn't space "out back" for someone to pester you or threaten your car (and I'm sure if there was an issue, the staff here would dial the sheriff, as the Barney Fife's of the Panhandle are always is looking for something to do)

Anne Hawley

Ugh! I was excited to make this stop on our family road trip. It was going to be a special lunch today, July 15, because it is my son's 18th birthday. We walked in, and it was crowded. No big deal...That's what I thought for a brief second. The guy (probably the owner), looked at me in a flustered way and said, "I have nothing for you here. A tour group of 40 came in. He said it will be about an hour. You can go in the gift shop if you want." He then turned and walked away. As if I'm going into his gift shop after he was rude and basically told us to go away. An iconic place like this should know better. We took a few pictures and then drove onto Amarillo Texas for some excellent barbecue that was very busy, but the service was fast, friendly, and they appreciated our business. It's Tyler's Barbecue!

Gus Garcia

We caught the tail end of the lunch crowd and we had great service there. The burgers are HUGE, Tasty, and in my opinion, worth the money. Not only is this a great little cafe to stop at, it is in a neat location, in the middle of Route 66. We recommend this place, in fact we drove up from Clovis, NM just to go here.

Tom Hubbard

Stopped here on our way down Rt 66. Two lovely ladies greeted us with wonderful food and a warm atmosphere. If you stop on, you MUST have a slice of pie. Baked fresh every morning by one of the ladies. Delicious!

Tazeen Ishmam

Well.. it's worth stopping by while roadtripping Route 66

David Pšenička

Nice 50s yes go there. Great food

Gene Gilmore

Awesome food coupled with Family service. Bring a BIG appetite! You will not leave hungry. The photo is the Midpoint burger, double meat and loaded.

Alana Howard

The only redeeming attraction in Texas! Great food and a nice wait staff. There little gift shop was much better than the adjacent shop. I would recommend stopping here for a bite to eat.

Gary Holden

Cafe serves sandwiches good food. Worth the trip for the photo opportunity

Lance Gouldhawke

Awesome place to stop and check out! The burgers are amazing too.

KATHY TRYON

Nice there

Sharon Taylor

Really lovely cafe to celebrate half way through the Route 66 journey. The cafe had a really fun retro vibe and an awesome curation of Route 66 gifts to buy. The service was super friendly and the pie was absolutely outstanding!! Highly recommended :)

Susan Scott

Stopped in for a small bite and piece of pie. Ended up sharing a grilled ham and cheese with green chiles and getting two slices of pie - coconut cream and an Elvis (chocolate, banana and peanut butter). Food was wonderful, and the people are friendly and professional. Worth taking time out of the day to stop in.

chris hipper

Good food. Historical sign. Next door to the Fabulous 40 motel. It's a quiet out of town neighborhood in Adrian Texas...

Dennis Howard

Go there it's it's worth the trip good services and good people

Dana Clausen Sobania

Good food, friendly service, and a photo op along historic route 66.

Damian Dryman

Patti Milford

Richard Little

Great atmosphere, food, history and hospitality!

Dustin Parsons

Very clean and the staff is very friendly. The burgers are huge and they have the best grilled ham and cheese sandwich I've ever had! Also amazing root beer floats. Great gift shop too.

Lauri Kean

Awesome food, great lady took care of us!! Would stop there again!! Pie was delicious!!

Michael Fernandez

Great food! Perfect idea to be associated with a nice Historical marker. As well, their Route 66-related gift shop had a great variety of the usual and unique of clothes. NOTE! We had heard many sources online saying they serve meals from Friday to Sunday, but they serve meals actually from Friday to Monday! With a nice variety of food, the ugly creme pies are a must! Though, if you come Tuesday through Thursday, you can only get their famous ugly crust pies. It feels like the center of such a small town!

Lluna MG

Awesome pies, lovely coffee and better service, more than a mandatory Route 66 stop. Had a lovely chat with the waitress and the only customer who was there, enjoyed a lot our stop!!

Gary Taniguchi

This is a tourist interest location bc it is a midpoint for route 66.

Laura Apgar

What an amazing place and the atmosphere and food was great. Thank you for making our experience amazing

Anna Maynard

Very friendly owners and staff...good food and gift shop..

Dave Den Adel

Is it a cafe ?? Is it a Route 66 museum ?? You know the answer, it's both. Or did you really not know ?? There is no shame in that. My reviews are a safe place. Great food severed up by way friendly employees. Cool decor, with great view of the Midway Point of 66 Sign. Niiiiiice !!!⛽⛽⛽

me boat she no crank

Malcolm Rees

Justine Owens

Great food, fantastic service, and cute atmosphere. MidPoint Cafe could not be better!

Sun Set

The most friendly staff ever! The food is just out of this world, I had the double cheese burger... What a burger, up there with with the best. Plus homemade pecan pie and ice cream... Heaven!

Phil parks

WOW!!! Food here is awesome! Not for the finicky budget but a triple burger could last you all day. Check them t out if you are not in a hurry. Gift shop on premises also.

Jenny Dunckley

Pie.. no more needs to be said.. stop and eat pie...

Madison Aldred

As of Sept 2017 place is up for sale. It was busy, food was ok. Have to spend at least 10 to use a card so bring cash if your just buying something small from gift shop. Pie look great but I did not try it. I got a grilled cheese to go. Had to get chips as my side because they were out of everything else :/ grilled cheese was nothing special, but definitely a fun place to check out.

Ellen Hasley

A surprise on our way to New Mexico. We googled places to eat. This place had wonderful reviews so we went. We discovered it is on the Midway point of Route 66. Wonderful, excellent pulled pork sandwich! The service can't be better.

Granpaw Dave

Loved it, was treated like family, BEST HAMBURG I've had in a very long time.

Danny Nunnelee

Great food and wonderful people.

Gail Roos

Great pies!

Todd H

Unfortunately, we arrived late in the afternoon on our Route 66 run, and it was closed. Looks like a really neat place, and still got some cool photos here.

Gareth Peate

Wow! Just a wonderful place to stop, whether you're driving Route 66 or just heading down the road. Amazing cafe, great food and wonderful people. The cinnamon rolls were to die for, and the pies looked even more so. Not so much a must-see, as a must-visit, drink coffee, eat, relax and enjoy!

Marianne Rattan

A friend and I visited this place this past weekend and dined on a hamburger with chips and a slice of pie for dessert. The cafe boasts Home of the Ugly Pie, although we didn't inquire as to why the label. The staff were very pleasant and the burger was okay but nothing special. The slice of pie (coconut cream for me) was $5 and very yummy. There was a nice atmosphere to the place and a lot of things to look at in the adjacent gift shop. There was a motel to the East and another gift shop to the West which, I assume, is open when the cafe/gift shop is not.

Andy M

Five star pies here! You have to try. A must stop for route 66, staff is great!

Nexxus Plexus

I literally just left and I loved everything about it! The staff was very nice sweet even, the food was delicious and the pie was to die for! I had the Elvis- chocolate cream pie with peanut butter and banana. Sooo good. Definitely should stop here if you're in the area!

Sergio David Spadavecchia

There are many reasons to stop here...and the fact that you're right in the middle of your journey is just one of them. Friendly staff and some nice souvenirs that you might find just here!

Adrian Bertin

tars, 5 Stars, 5 Stars ALL THE WAY!!! The Midpoint Cafe is truly a unexpected surprise, and hidden Gem tucked away precisely at the half-way mark (midpoint) location on old Route 66. Whether traveling east or west, without any hesitation i would recommend stopping by the Midpoint Cafe for a quick bite, or refreshing drink, and i assure you will not be disappointed. My mom and i drove cross-country from Fl to LA this past week. Im pretty sure MY name being Adrian factored in to the two of us stopping by Adrian, Tx for a pit stop, and quick bite. Family owned and operated cafe, just recently reopened after change of ownership and renovation, the gals at Midpoint Cafe made our stop the Highlight of our trip! Old-town vibe, classic Americana decor, amazing gift shop, food unexpectedly Amazing (mom said the chzburger she had was honestly the best shes had in years!) The friendliness of the gals, and their warm generosity makes you remember the beauty and kindness of people that sometimes gets lost. Do yourself the favor and make this a pitstop on your next roadtrip. Carrie, Brenda, Shawnell, Linda & Sandi... thank you all beyond words for helping make my mom's & mine roadtrip an unforgetable memory we both will cherish for a very long time to come!!! :)

George Schroeder

LOVE THIS PLACE! MUST STOP!!! Just stopped in today, but did not eat (the grill had just closed). The gift shop was great (lots of pins :D). Make sure, MAKE SURE, you stop next door at Sunflower Station. The owners of both these places are so friendly, and one of the reasons Route 66 is a great trip! Thanks guys!! If I ever come through Adrian again... I. Will. Stop. :D

Ronny Livsey

Really great service good food

Greg Kerouac

Love the menu. Cool soda bottles.

Susan England

This was a great place to stop during our road trip along Route 66. Lots of souvenirs and the coffee and pieces was good. The ladies working there are so friendly and nice. The cafe doesn't serve breakfast but they do serve a lunch menu. Well worth the stop. Great photo opportunities too.

Jonneke Grisham

Great and adorable cafe on the ol' Route 66!! I had the chocolate pie and it was really good:) staff is incredibly friendly. A MUST stop! Great gift shop as well. And they have a sign across the street that says midpoint between LA and Chicago. Good photo opportunity!

Nils Forsberg

I found this one by accident, and it's a great place! Not only an important half-way stop, the staff are super nice, and the food delicious. Don't miss it!

Cindy Dexter

Stopped here for breakfast. The best hash brown ever! Super friendly staff and cute decor. Glad we stopped and got to experience a little Route 66 and Texas!

julie Richards

Enjoyable stop over point, with the cafe, souvenir shop and the midway point sign.

Katie Wiesolek

This place is so cute!! They people there were both so friendly and knowledgeable about the history of route 66. After riding along the entire route 66 the sunflower shop offered original souvenirs (a little pricer, but nice) that I didn't see in other stores. Also, the midway point sign was kept up really nicely which is super awesome since not everything is kept up along the route 66 due to age. Definitely worth the stop and most definitely with the long trip!!

Maryna Grytsenko

One of the best cheeseburgers on Route66! Plus awesome atmosphere!

Patricia Harrison

Nice friendly place.. we stop here every time we come through... Love Rt.66 and Mid Point Cafe...

Sami Carol Godfrey

OH WHAT FUN! If you have a thing for Route 66 and memorabilia THIS is the place to be! Good food! Good people!

Patricia Carpenter

Very disappointed the place was closed it wasn't even 2 pm. In fact it didn't even look like it was open at all today. We where looking forward to stopping here. You would think because it is on Route 66 they would make it a point to be open even during winter hours

Diane Rousseau

GREAT place ... Friendly, comfy, at-home atmosphere! YUMMY food too. This is a "must stop" place. And it is the mid point of Route 66. What more could you ask for.

Rick Constien
