I went to Melanie's Cafe at 502 Main St, Schertz for Huevos a la Mexicana with cheese and it was delicioso! The veggies were plentiful and cooked thoroughly. The potatoes were soft on the inside and the beans were flavorful, but a little more liquid than some places. And, the chips are homemade and thick and the red salsa has some kick to it, as does the green salsa. The staff is friendly and attentive and the prices are reasonable. I will be back! — at Melanie's Cafe.

We just moved to the area about 3 months ago. We first tried Sely's mexican which is around the corner from Melanie's cafe. The food was cold and the puffy tacos arent puffy. But Melanie's cafe is so good! The food was hot and it has flavor. The tortillas are good too. Everything tastes fresh!! Came twice in one week. So glad we found some good mexican food!!

Melanie's Cafe was excellent. I went their with my daughter Melanie and we had a great time. Inside was very colorful and nice. They have a great menu with tons of variety. I got the Melanie Plate and it was delicious. The queso was good too. The staff was attentive and cordial. It felt very comfortable and enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

Excellent food but the service has lacked for the past six months or so. Been going to Melanie's since 2014. The service was just as excellent as the food back then. Now, when we go through the dive through, they are missing items. Or, when we go inside, they seem too busy to refill a drink. Had to go up to the counter to get water refilled because after 45 of waiting, we were getting thirsty. Customer service has declined quite a bit. Dont know what happened but can we please go back to the way it was

Came on a Saturday, service was sloooooww. I saw at least 3 waitresses just standing around talking. Even after we received our food, nobody checked on us once. I had to flag her down just to get the check. The restaurant is small with limited seating and parking but the food still took forever to come out. When it did come out the food was basic. I understand Tex-Mex is it's own genre of food but I can eat ground beef & potatoes at home. I wasn't impressed enough to come back.

I went there on a Sunday morning. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food there. Contrary to what another reviewer said, the tortillas were made in-house and so were the beans. I had the Chilequiles Mexicanos and they were pretty good. I don't think the tortillas for the chilequiles were freshly made, but the adobo was good and the meal was generally on-point. Considering that there are a few other Tex-Mex restaurants nearby who don't focus on ingredients made in-house, the fresh tortillas and beans were a welcome relief. Also, most of the waitresses were quite attractive, so that's a nice bonus.

Basic Mexican restaurant no special flavor nothing bougie about it, reading the great reviews I expected more. I will admit the wait service is fast the tortillas are most likely purchased from HEB the beans are good you know that half smashed half full Bean type of refried bean, I liked that; other than that nothing special to report about this restaurant and the prices don't match the quality... there are much better Mexican restaurants out there please don't let this be your final destination...lol

Waited on waitress to come back so I could order more tortillas and a refill of my water and nothing! It was not busy mind you! Waitresses are friendly here and the price used to be cheaper than it is right now. Even after the increase of their price, it is still cheaper than commercialized Mexican restaurant. Their Salas's that comes with the chips is to die for!! Hmmm.... their menudo specials on Saturday's and sundays lunch is my favorite. Mexican plate is great too.... breakfast used to be very cheap and great but I think they changed it to regular pricing now. Overall. This place will give your money's worth.... good Mexican food....

I live down the street and I want Melanies to be my go to taco spot for the weekends or afternoon lunches. However, on multiple occasions via drive thru my order has been wrong or missing items (missing avacado which I was charged extra for, missing cheese, heck even missing a whole taco sometimes). I feel ive been more than fair and given them multiple opportunities, yet the same things keep happening. Today 7/25/19 was the last time I will give them business.. I ordered the Chicken Monterrey Plate and said no beans or rice. I waited in the drive thru line for 20 mins (there was nobody infront or behind me in line). I figured since it was taking so long that they were making everything fresh and taking their time to get everything correct... I get my order drive home and opend my togo box to see a piece of chicken with a piece of unmelted cheese and NOTHING else in the box.... The chicken Monterey is suppose to comes with tomato, bell peppers, onions, sliced avacado, side salad with guac... also the beans and rice which I didnt ask for. Literally a pice of chicken and unmelted cheese was in the togo box,,, lol. Keep in mind I was charged 9$.... thats what got me upset the most... okay even if they misunderstood and thought I said nothing but the chicken and cheese which I didnt,, still charging 9$ for that is insane... I took it back, went inside and asked for the manager... I showed her the togo box and she laughed shrugged her shoulders and said "oh, haha I can have them add some stuff to it..." There was no, oh im sorry sir that we messed up or oh our mistake let me take care of that..... I declined her offer of adding "stuff" to it and asked for a refund which she gave me..... Look I understand that its not the end of the world, I just cant stand bad customer service.. On top of my orders being wrong on occasion, the attitude of the manager today was the icing on the cake. I wont be back, I'll be going to Garcia's on 3009 for my tacos from now on. .

We eat here all the time, and the service is always outstanding. They are hard workers who constantly are running around with very little downtown when it is busy. I always appreciate the helpfulness. I typically do the street tacos... BUT, you have got to try the French toast. That typically isn’t the first thing to try at a Mexican cafe. I’m telling you that it is delicious. I also found out that there is bottled beer... Even better! Try it and let me know how it goes. You won’t regret it. Every time I leave Melanie’s I can’t wait until the next time I come back! Yum!

Had breakfast tacos. Made with cheap ingredients, like very fatty bacon that was chopped into the egg to make it harder for the consumer to notice. Salsa was rancid. Sausage was almost burnt. I'm not one to go around leaving bad reviews for no good reason but....... It's a good place if you want to wait twice for one decent meal, once for them to give you green eggs and when you get home and find out after trying to assemble a taco, just to turn around and go wait for another migas plate with plain yellow eggs. Oh, and probably the worst thing is when I called to complain about green eggs, the woman answering already believed that they gave me green eggs. Do I'm not the first and you still haven't corrected the problem. Let me reiterate the worst thing I witnessed was no cooks wear gloves, and I actually witnessed a bare hand retrieval of my potatoes. If they don't want to spend money on gloves I can imagine the same goes for soap. But they seem to stay busy, I imagine that's because there's a scarcity of Mexican restaurant in the schertz area, but if you don't mind green eggs and dirty hands prepping all on your food please go eat here , you might want to be updated on your shots though.
