Great service! I order coffee and the Aussie sandwich to-go. The coffee was excellent great aroma and flavor, the sandwich was really tasty specially the sauce. You should ask for napkins as it could get messy. I will come back for the other items in the menu. Glad to have found this place.

I had only had Ascension for breakfast, but this visit was for lunch. The salad was good, service good. Atmosphere was good. I have no complaints and will visit again. The parking can we hard to find, but they do offer valet. I did and it was complimentary for guest.

This is cozy place to do afternoon work or have casual meetings at. I love going here for dates. They have small plates that are delicious. My favorite lattes here are almond latte, lavender latte and spiced chai latte. Their cheese plate is also very good. They do not offer soy milk. They offer regular whole milk, hemp and almond only. Also they have 50% off of their wine everyday after 5! Their wince collection is not too extensive but they have good options. Parking at this locations is tough; however, there is a street right behind the building where you can street park.

A hidden gem coffee shop located on oak lawn in Dallas, TX. The food is flavorful and unique creative drinks are available (coffees mostly). They have many gluten free and dairy free options. Half price bottles of wine after 4pm. $3.00 mimosas are available with discounts during brunch on Saturday and Sunday. Warm and inviting atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely a trendy crowd cafe with valet parking and clean restrooms. If you order sandwiches you can get half and half (half chips, half salad) though not mentioned on menu. No substitutions unfortunately and no scrambled eggs available (mainly poached eggs only). Overall a great spot for 1st time meeting, dating, business clientele and solo enjoyment. Definitely will come back again. Pricing is above average but worth it. Our server, Trent, was very detailed with a genuine warm customer service attitude. ENJOY!!!

It's difficult to rate this restaurant. I've been here twice and on both occasions, it hasn't been all great, but not completely horrible either. It's located in the design district of downtown Dallas. So it's in a busy location. Lots of traffic and restaurant is always busy. Limited parking, but at least they have parking (which is hard to find downtown) and they have valet service. It's a fun atmosphere if you want a nice place for good coffee, but didn't find the food selections appetizing. I can't say I would recommend the lamb sandwich. The decor is unique and they have live music, which makes it a hot spot to visit. But going there for lunch wasn't the best, given that the waitress forgot my coworkers order. They did correct it though, and had friendly service, so not all bad. Maybe third time's a charm. I wouldn't mind going in the evening and I like how the craft the coffee. They also sell wine. I really love the Industrial decor and find myself just wanting to sit to be in the energy of it all. Worth going to judge for yourself.

My husband and I joined some friends for Sunday Brunch and boy was it full! It was my first time there and we all had a good time. They did run out of gluten free chicken and waffles, but they had other yummy dishes instead. The service was great and the coffee too!

The coffee is very delicious! This is a “fancy” coffee shop. I had the Bhakti Chai Latte, the Chicken and Caramelized Onion flatbread, and the cinnamon chocolate cake. The service was great. The atmosphere is very calming. Perfect place to work, catch up with friends/family, or just grab a great cup of coffee.

The food was very good, as was the coffee. One star is lost due to the drinking chocolate. It tasted like Swiss mix. Drinking chocolate is supposed to be syrupy and thick. Plus, when we asked about it, we were told “that’s how it’s supposed to be”. I’ll still be back for the food and coffee, but if the owner reads this, check the drinking chocolate recipe.

Before I get into the negative, let me say the coffee was exceptional and the pastry (I had the tres leches coffee cake) was really tasty. My negatives were the price point (the coffee pricing was fairly on par with Starbucks if not a tad more but the food was crazy for a pastry/light brunch type place) were talking $11 for avocado toast. It's also a full service sit down place which is great, except when they are busy it can take awhile for someone to notice you (we sat outside... Inside may have better visibility) .. Our server was great once he got there though and we had no issues with receiving anything. Overall the quality was great, price was a bit high, and service may be a bit delayed.

I ordered a chai tea. The flavor was good, but it had actual spices in the drink, so the texture threw me off (similar to pulp orange juice which is not my thing). I also got a bacon and cheese roll (some sort of sandwich). That was pretty good. The vibe of the restaurant is good for a coffee chat or something.

Was in town for 4 days and stayed by Ascension. Had an okay breakfast, bacon undercooked and Breakfast tacos small. Coffee and tea tasty. Went in this AM just to get coffee. The guy at the register told me they were out of coffee but did I want an Americana. He told me what it was and I said sure. He then charged me $5.10. I asked how much the coffee was and he said $3.00 and told me that was all he had! As I waited for my $5 Americana he came and told me that id I waited 6 more minutes I could get coffee. I told him great cuz I wasnt expecting to spend over $5 on a coffee I originally didnt want. Just then my Americana came up (short on time) so I took it and left. First, if your out of coffee dont offer something else up and then charge ME the difference. Poor customer service - wont be going back tmro even though their coffee is tasty. Their loss -

I'm never mad when someone suggests we meet at Ascension. Their food is a little expensive, and the selection isn't big, but everything I've had there tastes pretty good. I especially like the steak sandwich. The coffee is where Ascension really shines. They always have great brews, and whether you get drip or pourover, it's going to taste fantastic. The vibe is definitely more 'restaurant' than 'coffee shop', though. I don't feel as comfortable pulling out a notebook or laptop to work here as I do at a lot of the other Dallas spots. But if you're going to meet up with a friend, this is a great spot to do so.

This Location is a little off the beaten path (for now), but the developing area just west of Oak Lawn known as the Design District is where this gem is located. Great selection of craft coffees and teas, but the food really stands out. Of course the place can get a little crowded during brunch, but what good brunch spot doesn’t. We really like the Ricotta Hotcakes, and the Protein Brekky, also the Avocado Toast for a little lighter dish or to share. And then there’s the selection of great COFFEE to choose from.

But the food was mediocre at best and compared to other breakfasts I have had while here it was way too expensive for the quality of the food. Leaving with a stomachache. This place is probably a good place to grab a coffee on the run. (This review is only for the breakfast. I have no idea how lunch is but I wouldn't waste my time trying)

I've been looking for a place like this for so long and never found it in LA. This place has continental food, including breakfast, snacks, sandwiches, cheeseboards, delicious drinks including local craft beers, wine, sparkling wines, coffee, espresso, tea, plenty of tables, friendly waitstaff. Coffee is strong, food is rich. AND unlimited free wifi! Joey Appleseed. You can come here just to eat, or to do work, or catch up with friends. They have half price wine bottles in the evenings before close and live music. I just loved everything about this place. Only teeny negative was that there aren't many outlets. If you grab the big table in the back though, you should be ok.

This is a pretty nice coffee place with a food menu that complements the caffeine options well. Parking is a hassle, but the valet is nice and affordable. Inside seating tends to fill fast, especially if it’s particularly hot and sunny outside. But this place is very Dallas: well-appointed, clean, more than a little bit extra, although not too obnoxious. You do pay for that, though.

The location is great, the food is good, and the service is terrible. Every time I am there, the staff members act like I as a customer am somehow bothering them or in their way for being there. I keep going back because of the first two points above, but I think the service has finally run me off to where I will have to find somewhere else to go. Today I asked to pay my tab three times, and then the server just started servicing every table but mine. I finally had to leave cash and leave after 20 minutes of trying to close out.

Ascension is super good! Half price bottles of wine after 4:30 and fabulous farm to table small bites and meals. We had a bottle of wine, cheese and meat board, chicken Caesar salad and dessert. ALL were fabulous! The vibe is what you would expect from a small coffee/wine bar. It is chill and quiet. Servers are very knowledgeable and friendly! We had Joey. He knew the wine list and the food which is very important to us. Great place! Great vibe!

The coffee is good sure, but there is never parking and people seemingly abuse the pick-up spots while half the lot is valet. If you’d like to walk from super far away in the apartments’ lot in the Texas heat it’s fine. I can’t stop in really quick on break from work which is a shame because it’s right down the street. I LOVED this place...for about 2 weeks. Last time I ate there at the bar 2 ROACHES crawled across my eating area and one across my plate. Please don’t eat here. If they have roaches running around during the daylight imagine what it’s like when the lights go dark. Roaches carry germs and disease. Skip this place!!

Tried this coffee shop for the first time with my brother during one of my visits to Dallas. Wanted to try their tres leches coffee cake and it was delicious. Topped with house made whipped cream this cake is perfectly moist, not too sweet and large enough for two siblings with a major sweet tooth. We had just had dinner at another restaurant but did not want anything from their dessert menu. So we stopped at Ascension half an hour before they closed and it was the best decision we made that evening :) I am very picky about my coffee and was so impressed by their house brew. It was rich and delicious with cream. I will definitely be going back when I visit Dallas again. And the next time I hope to try some other menu items with my coffee. Thank you guys for making delicious coffee and cake. And thank you to my server Adam (who I am sure was at the end of another tiring evening shift) for bring so gracious and for brewing me the perfect cup of coffee!!! See you again soon.

I cant remember my bartneder/barista, but she was about 5'6 and Blonde. Real nice girl who took great care of me. The place is really nice, very millennial with a touch of color. Theres a bar area and alot of seating. Parking could be added and getting in and out of the location could be a bit of a struggle. Great place for meetings and alone time

Found this breakfast coffee shop/Wine Bar that has evening entertainment . Visited twice for breakfast and was not disappointed From their fresh Brazilian coffee to the happy chicken fresh free range eggs, great tasting bacon, fruit and grains. Good selections, food was cooked well and the food full of flavor. Indoor and outdoor seating, outdoor seating allows dogs, to go menu and what I really like was that valet parking was provided in their own parking lot which really takes the hassle out of waiting for a parking spot as this is a very popular spot for all ages.

If it was socially acceptable to lick your plate I would. Went Saturday for brunch. Quickly got a table and ordered the chai latte, rich with a creamy texture. Our server recommended the Soft Baked Eggs and they were phenomenal. Full of flavor and just the right amount of food. My brother ordered the Aussie Sandwich with the secret sauce (bbq, maple syrup, and mayo) and it was awesome. Good natural lighting and the hip music was just the right volume. Highly recommend.

This is a really great little coffee shop/casual restaurant/sandwich shop where you can access the internet in a pleasant & casual surrounding while enjoying your java and/or superb lunch. Parking is NOT plentiful, but valet is available. The lattes, coffees and panini sandwiches are superb, and the service is always good. However, every so often they serve up a curve ball to you, like the cold & funky tasting chicken tortilla soup I got yesterday- it was so bad I only ate one spoonful of it. I’ll still come back, but won’t order that particular soup again.

There are a lot of food options as well and it's not the typical boring brunch food. My favorite is the salmon hash. Also recommend buying their bagged coffee if you like to brew your own at home.

Had to find a place to work. The WiFi was decent until it wasn’t. Apparently others had issues getting online and they restarted it. The food was good but expensive and having to spend the day there got long after a while.

Hip, smart coffee emporium with a bright eclectic menu of small plate foods. The coffee is strong and excellent. Indoors can be noisy but on nice days the patio is a pleasant place for meeting or idling.

Had an event Saturday afternoon & found out 15 minutes prior to starting that our "coffee service" had been scheduled for the wrong day. Searched Yelp for coffee shops, and Starbucks popped up, but they didn't answer the phone! Ascension Coffee was next, and I was told it would be 30-45 minutes. After explaining our plight, and communicating with the barista, they stepped in & saved the day! Great experience! Thank you so much!

This place is awesome. I have had two meals here and they taste amazing. Love getting the coffee (iced and hot) as well as the Frappuccino. They have an amazing selection of wine to choose from and they are all half price bottles after 4:30 P.M. Great people that are very friendly. They seem to love working here so the atmosphere is better with that kind of service. Will come back more often.

Cortado was very smooth, and warm for the colder day. I usually get a flat white, and wanted something different, definitely a reccomend. Staff was also helpful and really nice. We also ate a quick meal there, and the food was also quite nice. It was a quiet time when we went, but be careful about parking. It sits adjacent to a valet parking lot, only park in the areas marked for Ascension only.

Overpriced but good. Valet parking for a coffee shop is a bit silly, but understandable, I guess. WiFi is unusuable (too slow). Food is good. Would like to go sometime for the live music and half price wine but haven't had a chance yet.

What a cozy spot. Its walkable from the apartment and always classy, cozy, quick, and tasty. I've had wine here which has been lovely and their sandwiches. Most recently I had their classic cheese plate which the waiter took the time out to explain all the things and it was WONDERful.

Good menu options - coffee is delicious - customer service is consistently slow unless you get your drink to go. During our last visit, our server acted irritated at any request we made which made our interactions with her pretty uncomfortable. It's the best coffee in the area for now though, so still worth a visit.

Nothing beats in the middle of pouring rain you wanna find warm place just for a sip of hot coffee, and end up here in a cozy homey yet super charmingly decorated little corner coffee shop. Nicest staff, the croissantes are warm and fresh. Great place for friends gathering, dates, and small group meeting.
