Forget Starbucks coffee. Go here and enjoy even better flavor coffee and deserts. I had the most flavorful coffee; and it’s Cool atmosphere. BUT there are way too many seats taken for long periods of time since they were all using their computers - do they know the university has a library!?!

Great breakfast sandwiches and decent coffee, pour over is the way to go for sure. They offer various origins and do a 15:1 water:coffee ratio on the pour over. Overall a great place to grab a bite and catch up with friends or sit and do some work. A job well done!

Where to start... When one walks in to Columbia's premier coffee establishment, you are immediately greeted by the friendly and caring staff. Much like a long lost friend you never had, these baristas connect with you on a deep and personable level. This 5 star establishment doesn't stop at just the service provided but continues into the love and care they 'pour' into their craft. The coffee is intricate, delicate, complex, and so mind blowingly delectable, it's nigh impossible to enjoy just one visit to this café. While many of the critics lament the 'lack of space', it should be noted that this is a café and not a convention center. There is a great multitude of seating compared to most other complimentary establishments. The decor is equal parts homely and quirky and provides a comforting atmosphere. All in all 5/5.

Been here since day 1. Curated selection of a variety of local and international coffees and teas. The atmosphere is perfect. This is a great place to chill and get work done or to have a meeting. The owner and the staff are without a doubt the greatest team in Soda City.

This is not a coffee shop for minority customers. As. I walked into the place employees already had their mind made not to service me. The skin head of an owner Shane definitely wasn't welcoming for business. Proceed to talk with owner, couldn't even get my sentence out before he was rude & demeaning. Glad I didn't spend my money in this establishment. White privilege is Real in South Carolina. Just remember you never know who you come in contact with in life.

One of the best cups of coffee ever. Only been there twice but both times their tasting notes for the beans i selected were spot on. They do a pour over so it does take a little time but im my opinion well worth it. I've also sampled some of their baked goods. They were all fresh and very tasty.

I enjoyed the location and atmosphere! It's a cozy place with wood seating and tables that I really enjoyed the aesthetic of. I didn't catch the name of those working or the woman that helped me and my friend, but they were wonderful! I had an espresso milkshake and my friend had the breakfast protein shake as well as a couple of sandwiches with chips and fruit, and honestly I'm impressed! I tried something I normally wouldn't and liked it, not to mention the fact that the prices are actually reasonable! Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to others. I also appreciate that this location closes a bit later.

The coffee was great and the offerings were expansive. Even had beer — i found that a surprise, but sadly one i could not take advantage of when I visited. I’m sure this is a great Starbucks alternative for local workers in the area.

Loved finding this place while on the road. Was the only place open at 7am (other than St. Arbucks, bleh). Had a great selection of single origin coffee and prepared pour-over coffee, my favorite! Breakfast sandwich biscuits were amazing! You won't go wrong here.

Very warm and homey. A little out of my coffee comfort zone, but i had a great experience. Basically the environment and feeling of community you look for in a coffee shop. I believe pets are welcome at this location also, as i have seen a few small dogs inside before. 5 points can be a crazy location for parking so plan ahead or go on the weekend

The ambiance is wonderful and the selection is full of delicious options, some of which I haven't yet tried. The prices are more than fair and the staff are friendly. Also, there always seems to be a variety of different characters from all walks of life to take up a chat or a game of chess. Far more personable and cozy than the Starbucks on the same block.

Coffee was great. The atmosphere was okay however we would prefer more clean environment. But that just our opinion. Food was good. Meter parking is available in front of the coffee shop. Please bring enough quarters for the meter parking. Overall this is a great place to hang out!

The old owl looking guy completely disregarded human decency by being the most conceided, condescending and deplorable example of a business owner I've ever seen. I overheard him talking to one of his employees over something extremely trivial, he blew up over bringing in patio furniture and wiping it off so customers could sit and he was screaming at him saying they looked closed and the way he talked down to him and his words, I do quote "I've been a business owner longer than you've been alive, I would know" when the employee was just trying to make it more comfortable for the customers. It was disgusting, no one should act in that patronizing manner to their employees, especially in front of potential customers!

This was another successful find thanks to Yelp. After making a Costco run the next thing on our agenda was to find a good coffee shop and I rather support a local business than go with Starbucks. So that's how we found Drip, it's was such a cute little hipster coffee shop, downtown Columbia just minutes away from the breathtaking University of South Carolina.

Drip has the best straight up coffee in Columbia. It's caters to a niche by offering pourover. It's probably not ideal for your daily unless you work in 5pts or the nearby vencity. Pourover takes time to do right. Having said that, if you've got a minute or two to wait, it's definitely worth the extra effort.

Drip is a longtime favorite. It May be relative for some folks - meaning it's not what they may be used to in comparison to a big box chain or even other independent shops. Each coffee drink is prepared with more care than those places and the selection is unique. There's a record store in the back and a gelato shop next door - same owner - and the area of 5 Points offers a lot to see and do. Everyone should give it a go. The Main Street location is just as good but an entirely different experience. To boot, they are huge supporters of the community and genuinely good people. Put some money in the pockets of your neighbors and get it's worth in return, and some.

I try to get into Drip as often as I can. Really fantastic coffee and awesome friendly staff. It's usually pretty busy, there isn't much seating and it can get pretty tight in there. However, the staff moves quickly and I've never had to wait for very long. Their coffee is really worth the wait anyway.

The highlight of my morning is a Drip scone and a honey vanilla latte. By far, this is some of the best coffee in Columbia, and the creative baked goods are completely unmatched. My love affair with Drip began with a coconut scone and has continued through every flavor I've experienced since. The establishment has a small, local, and friendly feel where the staff recognize you and genuinely care that you've returned. They obviously put great care into both their food and drink, and it reflects in the quality and taste. Highly recommended.

Was a little worried about visiting, as I'm well over the average age for "Five Points". I'm extremely happy to say that I loved it. The staff is wonderful. While I was there a homeless gentleman with health issues came in and they handled it incredibly professional. Making sure he had something to drink and eat before the ambulance arrived. I don't know all of the details...but everyone of those guys went out of their way to help him. Great music from local acts as well!
