LOOOOOOVE THIS PLACE. Yes, my service and experience here warrants putting that in caps. Although small inside, it is worth trying to find a seat because the vibe is so chill here. Yes, there are plenty of people doing work on their computers, as with any coffee shop. However, there are plenty of seats in varying configurations, you just have to be willing to share a table with strangers, which is actually pretty fun because you get to meet new people. The staff here are SO incredibly friendly and upbeat, they make you want to stay and eat your food their for sure
Amazing coffee and food. Thank you for a real coffee. Well made. Sounds silly but it’s so hard to find a real coffee and as coffee drinkers from NZ we do appreciate a well made coffee. Such happy friendly staff also. Well done team. Most enjoyable experience.
Impeccable local hospitality at this chic coffee spot. I get an iced honey latte and suggest their greens and grains bowl with lots of veggies from local farmers. The owners J.P. and Diane are welcoming and friendly to talk to.
It is shop
I've driven by so many times and had to stop by this morning with my husband to give it a shot. Looking at the menu, there are your basic, popular choices (hot coffee, cappuccino, latte, mocha, cortado, americano and cold brew coffee) amongst other varying noncaffeinated beverages. FYI, all espresso beverages automatically come with two shots of espresso. Yum! The place was packed inside and out. The prices a little higher than usual, but man our drinks were delicious. Looking for something sweet I ordered an iced latte with caramel sauce. They let me know that they don't have any flavors like that. So my husband and I ordered iced mochas. They were made with such care. The baristas were really friendly too, despite being so busy there! We will be coming back again!
Best latte I've ever had and the staff are friendly
Very good coffee! They use parlor coffee and brew espressos on a la morrozoco. It’s not air conditioned and seating can be limited so it’s not necessarily a place to hang out for a long time.
Cute place, great atmosphere, good espresso, yummy parfait curiously served in a tall & thin glass, little on the expensive side, but kinda worth it.
Had a really smooth and velvety latte. It was nice. Also they have a change table in the bathroom which was handy.
Delicious ice mocha. Beautiful interior
Favorite coffee shop in PVD. Coffee is brilliant. Cold brew on nitro-tap is out of this world. Food is simple yet delicious.
Love this cafe! My fave... Amazing nitro cold brew coffee, alternative dairy free milk options, vegan food options. Really cool cafe... Great service. Has a restroom and nearby a great donut shop TOO! (PVDonuts(vegan options!) case you like donuts with your coffee like me.
Love it
Cosy..the fare is simple but in an uber-appealing (there must be a better descriptive word. ..but you get it. ..right?)...now kind of way. .I wanted everything on the menu. ..be prepared to open your wallet
Great in all respects, coffee, muffin, and friendly staff.
A little cosy place with great espresso coffee and cakes.
Prices are about the highest you will find in Providence. If you bring your own cup, make sure to let the cashier know the size so you don't get overcharged. P.S. thanks for the note, jp. updated my review in light of the info you provided!
Very cute little spot! The avocado toasts are so good!
Best coffee in Prov
The best place to get coffee in the area!
I popped into this shop one morning while visiting Providence. The baristas were extremely friendly and helpful, with bubbly personalities. It's noticeable how carefully they prepare their drinks here. The coffee is high quality. My experience at The Shop was brief, but worth giving them some praise!
Great coffee and down-to-earth atmosphere.
The Shop's iced coffee is scientifically proven to be better than any other iced offer you've ever had in your life. They serve it from a nitrous tap! Wow!
The food is great, the coffee is great, but the customer service is not good. They are incredibly slow. When we ordered two things, they forgot to charge us for one. Instead of making it on the house, they made us come back inside to pay for it, and we had to wait in line yet again. Not cool!
Very cute, hip, coffee shop. They've done well with the small space. Great little patio outside and huge store front windows to provide beautiful natural lighting. Good WiFi for me to work on my computer. Nitro Iced Coffee to get me jazzed for said work. I didn't eat, but the plates I saw around me made me wish I had. I will definitely be back!
Nice little coffee shop near Brown University. Fantastic coffee and baked goods. Great outdoor seating area. Close to a lot of the other shops and restaurants in the area. Very eclectic and diverse guests. Great place for catching up with friends.
After frequenting this a establishment a few times I feel like my experience this morning merits a note. After walking up the street with a few boxed donuts with a group of friends we wanted to enjoy a nice coffee and support a small business. While ordering inside with a friend a few others chose to wait at the tables located out front. In the time it took to order a coffee one of the baristas took the time to tell part of the group they weren’t welcome - due to the fact they had boxed goods from another establishment. This is normally understandable, as there is no signage indicating that this is frowned upon, especially when purchasing food and drinks FROM THE SHOP The same individual also made it a point to chastise me over ordering a cup of coffee to go because coffee in plastic wasn’t sustainable. If they were that concerned why not provide biodegradable cups to begin with? Ironic. So the crux of this is why would you would harass a patron to stay when you explicitly told them they weren’t welcome? Take your business elsewhere
Definitely a hip spot to get coffee. The prices are a bit high, but they are likely on par with other coffee shops in the area.

Excellent barista coffee. Wholesome small meals and snacks. Friendly staff. During colder months it’s difficult to find a place to sit. There are tables and seating outside when it’s warmer. Good location. Very friendly, student vibe.
There are dogs there on the reg
Great latte
Amazing coffee
Twice in past I got order to go. This time they looked at me like I had 19 heads....very disappointed!
Moving to Providence and a good coffee shop is key to my life. I got a place two blocks away from The Shop just so I could stop by for my morning espresso.
The best Coffee in the State. Espresso drinks are served how they should be made by definition. There is no such thing as a 20oz macchiato at a real coffee shop.
I had a few issues with this coffee place. For starters, they charge an extra 50 cents for honey. It's just like any sweetener, why should it be extra. Every other coffee place I know has either a free dispenser or packets of honey, free at your disposal. Second, the milk he used for my coffee separated in my drink, curdling, meaning it was not good anymore. If im going to pay almost 4 dollars for a coffee, I really don't want expired milk in it. I could go on about minute details, but I would rather give my business to the coffee exchange, which is 3 minutes away from this place, and is 10 times better, with friendlier staff as well. Do not go here.
Best iced oat milk latte in Providence
These guys are chill. If anybody invents a Grappa-cino these guys will make a delicious one.
The best jam and butter on toast I've ever had and super friendly employees!!
Very good place to spend the time. Good coffee and excellent service!
Cool little spot! Friendly staff! Good espresso!
Would go back again based on the service alone. Staff was super friendly. Ordered a nitro brew. Was given twenty five cents off for bringing my own cup. It was good nitro. I would like to try a hot coffee next time.
a nice little place
Rotten people, SNOBBERY AT ITS BEST. I guess I'm not weird enough to interact with the upscale here.
I used to really enjoy coming here, but the service has slipped over the last couple of months. My go-to drink has been the cortado and I don't have any complaints about the coffee, but it's not worth waiting in line and dealing with baristas with attitude when you're debating trying different drinks or trying to learn more about the offerings. You're better off at Dave's Coffee or Bolt.
Beautiful little coffee shop. My macchiato was divine and the cultured butter and jam on toast really hit the spot.
Hands down best coffee shop around. They really know how to make a perfect drink, everything I've ever had here has been wonderful. The food and snacks are killer as well.
Cozy atmosphere, fantastic coffee & food, and super sweet staff. Love this place!
Came here to try the nitro brewed coffee and it was great. Also got a couple pastries and were really good. Got a coffee to go no problem. Excellent and friendly service.
the kind of place that gathers a community, and then feeds it delicious avocado's over fresh ciabatta. that seriously happened.
Just moved out here and while on my quest to find the best latte in town I stumbled upon this little place. The coffee is good. Hopefully not the best in town because I'm definitely not going back. So if the coffee is good, why am I never going back the question to be asked. Well, it's simple: Customer service. I get it each cup is an art piece that you put a little bit of your soul into, but that doesn't mean you can talk to people however you like.
Standard coffee and espresso selection. Don’t like that they put ice in their nitro cold brew.
Cute spot with amazing nitro cold brew.
The employees are always super friendly and welcoming and they make a great cappucino! Some of the best cold brew around as well.
Favorite place for iced mochas.
Great spot for well made coffee and a bite to eat. Friendly staff and customers alike. Awesome place to connect and people watch out the window. Work friendly place with lots of people studying or working. Nice location. I’m a fan.
I really loved this place; it’s quaint, it’s clean, it’s real ;). The espresso was excellent, the service was great, with smiles. I had the avocado toast, simple and perfect, includes chilli pepper flakes, how could you go wrong??!! The bread that accompanied the toast was very fresh and tasty.
nice place and very fresh but not much space to sit.
Excellent service
A nice cafe shop with a great atmosphere. Nice and friendly staff. Good to relax while have a coffee. It is a bit pricey, though.
Very nice coffee shop. The barista is very helpful in explaining the coffee of the day. Nice atmosphere.
Great coffee, snacks, staff, and atmosphere. Literally the whole package.
This is my favorite coffee shop in RI. Great coffee, and great coffee shop feel. Also, the porridge is amazing!
No variety and dull
Really delicious artisan coffee shop. They also have Wifi
Seems like a great place to sit down and do work in the quiet Wickenden Square, but coffees are small and expensive.
Coffee was superb and the shop was quaint. I enjoyed the oatmeal breakfast too. Not being from RI, it was exactly as I'd expect RI to be.
Tried the avocado toast and it was a simple yet clever start to my day.
Great coffee and great people.
Best coffee in Providence. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. The wifi is strong and hasslefree.
This might sound picky but I take my coffee with just skim milk, and they don't have it!
Loved this place! Top notch espresso, perfectly combined with simple but delicious breakfast / snack options (savory or sweet). The open layout and outside seating work well, too.
The guy working here was incredibly sweet! He was very helpful and it turned out it was his birthday! Happy birthday, guy who taught me about what a macchiato really is. This place is definitely going to be my new go-to.
Best kept neighborhood experience !
Good coffee and snacks, but a little pricey. Not many seats.
Excellent coffee.
As a lover of great espresso, I was very happy to find a coffee shop serving very high quality, carefully curated and brewed, coffee. The place is a little small so a wait may be in order but it is totally worth it and it adds to the intimate feeling. Had the opportunity to chat with barista JP about their process and it was clear that he really knows his stuff. Enjoy a great example of the amazing coffee movement we live in right now.
I’ve been here three times since the place opened the last of which was yesterday. Every time I go in here I feel like the staff is judging me. I wanted an avocado toast to go and they said they don’t make that to go. So I left. Never going back. Are you telling me all of your other foods are also eat in only? That’s absurd.
Very friendly and they even made me a proper New Zealand flat white which was delicious
My first time being there..going back there soon love it nice people to talk too..
Really cute! Fills up very fast so it can be crowded. Nice service too.
Awesome place, guy behind the counter was great!
These words won’t do this place justice! They went absolutely above and beyond for me today. Thank you so much for your help.
Parlor beans parlor beans! Iced puerh was great!
Great coffee. Sometimes run out of seats.
I don't write many reviews because it's just not my shtick, but I came in today around 10:30 to grab a coffee. The blonde barista that waited on me clearly needs an attitude adjustment , or needs to be retrained. If she doesn't like what she's doing why is she working with an otherwise great staff? What a turn off.
Best coffee shop in Providence
Amazing coffee!
Best Oatmilk Cortado I have ever had.
The single-origin drop coffee was fantastic, but the baked goods and food offerings stole the show. Very limited seating, but a great boho vibe. This is what every neighborhood coffee shop should aspire to be.
Loved the espresso had a simple latte but it was very good smooth and velvety. Very friendly staff. The place was busy alot of college kids here. I guess they know good coffee and good food.
Great little place with excellent coffee and delicious artisan breads and pastries. The cold brew on tap just can't be beat. The shop also features a friendly staff and an outdoor seating area to enjoy the lovely neighborhood while having your morning coffee.
Good People ! Great Coffee ! Cool Interior Design !
Super friendly, and absolutely dead on espresso-drink brewmaking. Gorgeous interior, to boot.
The quiche is so good! The coffee is also great, and the baristas are awesome. This is a great place to hang out for a short time and have a coffee/pastry, but I always feel like I shouldn't stay too long because there isn't much seating indoors. There is more outdoor seating, but I always seem to want to go here on a rainy or cold day (it's very cozy, and they have newspapers)..
The definition of a ‘cool’ spot. Cold brew coffee was amazing!
