REVIEWS OF Bolt Coffee IN Rhode Island

K Mac

Nice pull. Interesting espresso blend. Not my favorite espresso but decent. Tasty pastries. Edited review: went back two subsequent days. Pulls deteriorated. Espresso was served in a large handless mug which meant that it cooled off very quickly. Had very little crema. If you are an espresso lover maybe try somewhere else (however in full disclosure I didn't find a place downtown that was better).

Wow. Just wow. Nestled in the heart of the city, Bolt is doing some really innovative things with coffee. Yes, they have all the standard fare from coffee and lattes to macchiatos and more, but they are also preparing some really unique drinks you just don't see anywhere else. Take, for example: the refresher. I love coffee and I love ginger beer, but I would never have thought of mixing the two. Plus, they even top it off with a spicy ginger chew candy! Somehow, it's a match made it heaven especially for city strolling.

Benton Taylor

Absolutely brilliant. The Espresso Tonic is unequivocally everything you could possibly want. Their aptitude for coffee is clearly unrivaled. Genuinely; thank you Bolt Coffee.

Tori Weinstein

Modern and chic coffee shop in a cozy nook of the Dean Hotel. Delicious iced coffee that was perfectly sweetened by the barista.

Shelley Oswald

Cozy, little coffee shop with couches and magazines to take a break and get caffeinated. Roast their own beans and do it well, flavor of the house drip was great. With a little oat milk, couldn’t be better.

Alissa Delorey

This is a great coffee shop! Definitely hipster, but welcoming! Seating is available with newspapers and books if you don't have anything to read. They have regular coffee and latte specials. I tried the Nor'Easter which was an 8oz. Eggnog latte with 2 shots of espresso. My husband ordered the mocha latte. The coffee was priced fairly for 2 shots of espresso, $4.5 each, however I would loved for mine to be bigger. Most of the drinks come in only 8 or 12 oz. We will definitely be back again!!

Kara Shurtleff

Friendly, knowledgeable, dog and child friendly.

These are pretty good roasters! The beans are a little dark but end on a buttery note. Very akin to other east coast roasters with heavy chocolate notes. Small sit space in the dean hotel with pastries from knead.

Ahmed Mousa

We stayed at the dean hotel right above it. That morning I had the best cup of drip coffee that I’ve ever had in my life at Bolt ⚡️ Baristas are good here.

Great eclectic coffee shop in the heart of Providence roasting their own beans. Americano was on point and the Barista was super friendly and informative. Highly recommend checking this place out. Excellent Third Wave experience. They also have a second location.

Great coffee, but cramped atmosphere.

Simplicity Sarris

sleek, ultra modern interior set in the minimalistic dean hotel. the ambiance was jazzy and good for reading a newspaper or magazine they have set out. four stars because the Burundi pourover was sadly weak!

Scott Burlington

Slayer machine, 49th Parallel, Knead Bakery bites, staff that knows what to do and is the right level of friendly. Perfectly hip.

Matthew Burdick

Almost literally a hole in the wall, this place has beautiful decor, a charming, kind and helpful staff and some of the best coffee in the city. When I visited they were carrying Knead donuts, I bought one and it was the best donut I'd ever had in Rhode Island

Expertly made barista coffee. You could say a bit “purist.” Simple snacks and occasionally doughnuts to choose from. They sell quickly. Trendy but still friendly crowd. Relaxed, hip surroundings connected to The Dean. Cosy.

Coffee was good and I even bought a bag to take home with me. But the space is small and I brought my laptop to do some work but there just wasn't anywhere to sit and do work. As a business traveler I probably wouldn't be back for that reason. However the barista guy (baristo?) was definitely very nice and helpful, really good people person although he was waiting on me before my coffee so.i wasn't as talkative:) but he described the coffees really well and asked me what I liked, selected a coffee and he certainly got it right! So basically this review is based on the overall experience for me.

Such a pleasure. Barista is such a pro ... artistic, friendly, and a master of efficiency, delivering little sips of coffee, comfort & cheer in turn. Mocha was smooth and balanced. Highly recommended for a flavorful way to start the day!

Lovely staff.. Great coffee too

Great ambiance. A cute little coffee shop located in the Dean hotel. I am not a big coffee addict but I got a small iced coffee just to try it. To be honest...I dont think I would be able to taste the difference between this $3 dollar coffee and a $1 coffee from McDonalds but this tasted strong and acidic when black. The flavors got better for me after adding milk and sweetener. I guess this shows you..once you go black you can go back. Service was good and friendly.

Moises Ramirez

Best coffee in Rhode Island. The service is amazing.

Sean Hall

Super friendly baristas with an excellent pour and Knead designer doughnuts. Hotel wifi is free and good. Space is limited though.

Steven Zucchi

Cute coffee shop in the Dean Hotel. Very friendly barista and good coffee.

Michael L

Very nice interior, makes you feel at home. Not to mention great mocha and Knead Doughnuts!

Christen Leigh

Cozy little spot for a quiet cup sitting on their couches or stop by and get it to go. The coffee is delicate and a great morning roast in my opinion. They have some knead donuts first thing. I tried the cortado which was lovely and the drip coffee. The barista said they use the same beans/toast for the espresso and the drip and I really enjoyed both. Definitely worth stopping by.

I have become a huge fan of the atmosphere in this cafe. There is a great mix of students, artists, visitors, families and more that creating a really relaxing space for studying and people watching. The cold brew is really strong and fragrant. Also the baristas a creative with their coffee drinks and made me a great one with ginger a few weeks ago. The food is also lovely, though somewhat pricey. The avacado toast is great as well as the proscuitto and goat cheese toast.

Amanda Woodward

Always a terrifically sweet person behind the counter, but a 3 star because one person service is painfully slow and the pastries are too large, too limited in variety and too expensive. Coffee is decent and atmosphere funky.

Dylan Glockler

The delightful demeanor of the barista pairs well with some exceptional craft coffee (latitude 49) - photo from the alley out back

Great barista!

Danny Yates

Coffee here is one of the best flavours I've had since leaving Sydney. I've found even the good espresso places here never seem to have enough strength of flavour, but this place does.

I had the gingersnap drink. Freaking gross. Who the hell puts cappuccino in seltzer water i wasted 4.50 and i should have went to freaking dunkin donuts. Sorry im no health nut but that just tasted like straight ass.

David Seybert

One of my absolute favorite spots in providence. Great vibe, great service, great coffee.

Seth Price

The best espresso and latte in Providence, in fact they pull the best espresso in all of Rhode Island. Up until recently, I would use my travel excursions to Boston, NY, Seattle & San Francisco to get my espresso fix. Finally little Rhody has a contender. If you are fortunate enough to meet Brian the owner, he will craft your drink with such precision, that you feel the practice, care and thought he puts into each cup. This place is worth a trip. It's become part of my ritual when I'm in town. You may even see me lounging in the Hotel lobby with my dog & laptop, enjoying myself immensely.

Douglas Wands

Delicious filter coffee and Knead donuts

Anna Stinauer

I actually didn't initially plan to review this place, as it almost seems like apart of the Dean. But I really enjoyed my experience with them. Their coffee drinks are very well made and their staff seemed very professional and trained. After ordering drinks one of the baristas asked me what our plans were, and so I explained the place we ended to have breakfast. He quickly got out his laptop and showed me another place that was even closer with more options. He even let me scroll through the menu. This was consistent with the type of service that The Dean offered in general, very personal and helpful. I'd stop in at the Bolt even if I weren't staying there!

Matthew Carter

Best pour over in Providence

Jacob Hagen

Came here for espresso while I was in town for a magic tournament. Very relaxing atmosphere and an excellent barista. Very tasty espresso.

Carrie Wagler

It’s a beautiful space! The coffee was pretty good, but we didn’t love the doughnuts-they were a little too dense. I was just visiting, but regular customers were moving in and out and chatting with the baristas. For the half hour I spent there, I was a part of the local culture.

David Thompson

It's been a while since I went to a real coffee shop, but I've been to some really good ones. I couldn't have been more impressed. This was a very small place, and kind of hipster, if that's what you're looking for. If it's not, it's still worth checking it out. The coffee was some of the best I've had, and the barista was nothing short of expert. I say that with sincerity, as he truly was a master of his craft, which is a rarity nowadays.

Sarah Lee

I love the interior and atmosphere! It's very hipster and artsy! Even the bathroom is very beautiful!

Des Earls

Excellent v60 pour over and long back. Very cool vibe and friendly staff.

Speckman Lisa

The coffee is smooth, like silk.

Kanwaljit Singh Mangat

Amy-Louise Barber

Small but totally chill spot. Great for coffee explorers and experts because their brews are sophisticated! They have wifi. Beware of the rush, the line gets 12 people deep and the single barista holds his own, but the demand is real.
