In the middle of the central Pennsylvania Allegheny mountains is this great coffee bar that knows how to pull a good shot of espresso. I stopped at Standing Stone Coffee on a trip to Huntington before heading home. I usually make my own coffee at home in MD because the people at the Mermaid Lady place don't do all that well, no crema, meh taste. Not so at the Standing Stone. I was served a righteous double shot with a truly thick and sweet crema, something I would not have expected but there it was. Now Huntington is a nice college town with a clientele that I'm sure knows good from bad, but I would put these guys up against the best indy shops anywhere. Outstanding. Really.

Always enjoy hanging out here for a lunch date and/or a cup of coffee. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and curteous. Good food and a comfortable atmosphere make it a stop worthwhile. They also have special entertainment, educational events, and game nights throughout the month. And they feature different local artists' work on the walls - so there's always something new to look at. I will be back in soon! And back I came... This time I tried one of their soups - which was absolutely delicious. I do believe that they had new staff working, because our order was all over the place. My hubby and I ordered (on the same check) 1 soup, 1 sandwich, 2 drinks, and 2 desserts. Everything came out at different times. First I got my coffee, then my soup. After some time we got his dessert, then his drink, and finally his sandwich and my dessert??? Considering that we intended to eat lunch together, I waited for my hubby to get his food, but then had to start eating my soup or it would have been cold. By the time his sandwich came I had to refill my coffee so we could have dessert together. We now laugh about it - as awkward as it was at the time - and we enjoy coming here. Just hope it doesn't affect too many other customers.

Very nice cafe with a great atmosphere and excellent coffee. The ideal place for reading a good book or getting some work done (free WiFi was an added bonus!) The only drawback was the food. Choices were slim and for the price so was the sandwich

Great little coffee shop. They have many excellent coffee brews, and the owner crafts each one himself. Great smoothies and other drinks. They have café-style food, and it's admittedly a bit pricey for the portion size. They host periodic community events like open mike nights and local art exhibitions.

Went to go ask around 6:30 and had my baby boy with me because I don't have a baby sitter today and they were closed. Even though the site says open till 8pm. Please let me know if they are hiring. It's a nice place but employees need better communication between each other. I was there tonight and ordered a grilled cheese. After waiting 20 minutes for my food and watching others get theirs I was getting suspicious that they didn't even begin cooking it. I finally got fed up and asked and it was never even being made. This was after waiting 40 minutes and they were not even busy. Normally I would not write a bad review but this is the second time I saw this happen. Last time it wasn't me but a friend in my group. We were already done eating out food before she even got hers. Turned out they forgot. I can understand if they are busy and forget something but when there is only 3 or 4 customers you should be able to remember to make someones food. I'm seriously considering not ordering anymore food from there. Being forgotten kinda sucks watching other people get their food.

The food was really good, the kids had smoothies which were very good and unexpectedly large for the price. I highly recommend the standing stone coffee co. These baristas can pull out amazing drinks! Hot, iced, or blended- they are guaranteed to be great. And they roast all their coffee right there, so it’s absolutely fresh. So it’s definitely a winner!

I absolutely love this place! I call in multiple times a week, to prevent waiting for my food. Their spinach dip and buffalo dip are both delicious. I have loved every soup that I have tried as well, and the bread that comes with it is great. Definitely my go-to place to eat!

A few weeks ago I made plans to meet with a friend at Standing Stone Coffee Company. Standing Stone Coffee is a newer coffee shop that opened a few years after I left the Huntingdon area. Though I was excited to try their coffee, I must admit that I wasn’t expecting much. Now, I don’t want to sound snobbish, but when you live in the coffee capital of the USA, one doesn’t expect to have REALLY GOOD coffee in central Pennsylvania….Boy was I wrong. When I walked into Standing Stone Coffee I noticed the beautiful fragrance of freshly roasted coffee (they roast their own beans). I also noticed that the business had a wonderful atmosphere that would fit various situations. I could easily see myself going there to study, visit with a friend or work. The staff was very friendly and seemed to know a great deal about the coffee that they were brewing. When I stepped up to the counter I ordered my “go to” drink: Americano. In case you don’t know, an Americano is basically a few shots of espresso with hot water added to it. It’s basically a stronger, smoother version of drip coffee. I noticed that their espresso beans were single origin Colombian from the Poppyan Region. Though most “coffee snobs” won’t consider Colombian beans a gourmet coffee, I’ll admit that it is one of my favorites! In the case of Standing Stone Coffee, I really enjoyed this variety. It was smooth almost like silk, and there were deep dark chocolate undertones. I also noticed that this variety wasn’t acidic or citrusy like some, but rather it had a smooth nutty flavor. I haven’t tried any of the other beverages at Standing Stone Coffee, but I assume that they are all fabulous as well. I’ve actually gone back twice since that first visit. This little coffee company definitely competes with some of the fine coffee shops in Seattle! The best part about this visit is that I know now that there is a place for me to get coffee when I’m visiting my old tromping grounds!

Easily the best coffee, best roasted beans, best blends. Their food is great (I recommend the Montana Mountain Climber), their home made chips are killer. I have yet to find a roasting company as good as these guys. They also have some coffee gear, and they showcase local artist's work on the wall, sometimes for sale. They have a seasonal menu too. Like, I'm not sure how this place hasn't exploded in popularity yet. Love this place. If you cross over into PA, make a stop here.

Exceptional customer service, brown sugar cinnamon latte was delicious...better than the franchise chains.... Had the gluten free chocolate chip miffin and it was the best GF dessert I've had in years! The have other GF options as well! Will definitely be returning when wwrew back in town!!

My boyfriend and I were taking a journey through the Pennsylvania countryside for my birthday and I suggested we stop here because it had good reviews and pumpkin-flavored coffee (a favorite of mine). When we got inside, we said we'd like our order of a cheese panini and two coffees to go, because we found a cute little park a mile or so away and we wanted to have a picnic. Well, after watching local after local stroll in, order more food than us, and eat it in front of us, we got annoyed. Another woman with ONE PANINI was waiting ahead of us. Our order ended up taking 45 minutes, for a glorified grilled cheese and two lattes. When we complained to the cashier, she said "it can get pretty busy, you guys should have called ahead for your food." After an attitude like that, I would never go back here. They cater to locals and blame their poor service on the customer. What an atrocious way to do business. If you are an out of towner or want coffee to go, please do not give them your business.

Passing through and needed a place to stop for bfast. The chai was hot, spicy and my kiddo took it over. The quiche was good and the granola was super tasty. Had to share the latter too. We ate outside, played with the life size connect four game. There are daisies and blue morning glories in bloom when we visited. Cute spot, would return. Friendly and helpful staff. This coffee is so good that I drink it black. It's the best I've found in the five central PA counties I drive to regularly. I enjoy the local artists work on the walls and live music outside during warm weather.

Our barista, after taking forever to make our 2 lattes, with no one ahead of us, thought it was appropriate to take mine past me to another customer that she obviously knew and hold out my latte so he could admire her work.

This was our 2nd visit, the first was when we were treated to coffee from a French Press, and learned about the coffee growing process. Today we ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte, a Real Berry Smoothie, and a Real Betty iced tea.. All were wonderful. This is one of those feel-good local businesses. Added edit : I had the best mocha that I have ever tasted. No sugar needed, even for this sweet tooth.

Great coffee! They roast it right there, usually on Wednesdays or Tuesdays. Kenya is my absolute favorite of their coffees. Can't say much for the food, since we don't really come here except to grab more coffee beans. If you're coming from far away, call to make sure they're open first. Staff is always very nice.
