This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Coffee shop.
Do visit. They have an art gallery and their coffee + snacks are amazing. Very relaxing to stay even for a short while.
Decent space, but cortado was not great. Too much foam, foam too bubbly, and too much milk. Not up to competitive standards. Stick to espresso here?
Great coffee, with great smooth flavor. Love the house roasted beans! Great prices as well!
Best bagel & cream cheese I've ever had! And delicious coffee
A mocha was a coffee with hershey's syrup. Too sweet.
Excellent chai latte & espresso lattes. Bagels are fresh. Old building adds to the experience in historic Philly.
Such a cool vibe and historic feel.
Always friendly. Tea is on fleek.
I usually buy lunches or juice here, rather than coffee. But I only do so sparingly because every time I go in, I get stuck with the most sullen server I have ever met. I believe her name is Leah. She never smiles, never says hello, is NEVER polite. My coworkers are in there several times a day and not once does she bother to do anything past the bare minimum of serving their coffee/food and taking their money. When she does speak, she is sarcastic or rude. Seriously, get some servers with personality and manners, please!!
Good and simple coffee. Quiet and nice place to sit and scenic.
One of the best coffee house in Philly
The smell of coffee when u first enter is greeat! Service was super nice. Tasted good and satisfying. They have interesting connections which makes it a great place to read and study.
this place has free wifi but only for an hour at a time, and you must make another purchase to keep using it. the lady that advised me of the policy was quite rude... never coming here again even though the coffee is good, the crowd is old …
Excellent coffee, friendly service
This is a great local coffee shop. I grey all my coffee beans here also.
I truly love this family owned Old City coffeehouse. The coffee is some of the freshest and best tasting in the city. The pastries are delicious and they make a great tasting granola they sell by the pound. The staff is always pleasant and after a few visits they remember your name and more importantly how you like your brew!!
Best coffee in the city. Hands down.
Came back again after a hiatus and still love it.
Very good and distinctive chai tea latte at the Redding terminal location
Great place! Good food and coffee. Friendly staff
Good coffee, nice neighborhood.
Yum! Very cute coffee shop with excellent coffee and homemade baked goods
Best chai ever, less sugary sweet, deeper spices, other tea selection is great and the salad dressing they make is addictive. Great cozy vibe too.
Best coffee shop in Old City!
A charming location and excellent coffee.
I love going here! But it seems like they are always out of something. Either way, they
This review is based purely on their coffee beans, because that's all I go there for. They roast their own beans, but apparently they do a pretty crappy job. I've tried to make espresso out of a number of their varieties and none are any good. The Cadillac of the group - the six bean espresso blend - sucks hardcore. Tastes like burnt Chock Full O' Nuts. I don't get it. Even the pre-ground Lavazza in the black can is way better than this.
Years ago I lived in an apartment above old city coffee. Still a powerful memory of their powerful coffee aroma coming up through the floor boards. Great coffee especially good with a generous dosing of cream. Cobblestones and the venue of an old sugar refinery complete the atmosphere.
Fast ubereats pick up
Lovely!
Literally my favorite coffee shop!!! Great products and amazing people. Go for their fantastic selection of coffee or loose chest tea but don't forget to check out the fresh baked offerings!!! We have hundreds of guests that stay with us each week and we always recommend this place to them without one complaint ever.
The $3 homemade oatmeal raisin cookies are legit. They now offer matcha lattes, which I did not try.
The best coffee I've ever had!
One of the best coffees I had in my life. Very nice place near the Christ Church. In the morning at 8 am you can sip coffee outside and watch locals walking different dogs. Also the bagels are very good. I tried bagel with cream cheese and peanut butter. The place is also in a walking distance to Eithers alley and Betsy House. Also, they have extra large sizes of cappuccino, latte and mocha - 24 oz.
I love this coffee place. Their homemade chocolate chip cookies are the best ones i have ever had.
Had a butterscotch cookie there last week...best cookie I've ever eaten...ever. If they'd ship 'em to Texas, I'd order a dozen right now!
This is the BEST COFFEE SHOP ever. (That's right, ALL CAPS) It's tucked away on Church street next to the ultimate dive bar SugarMoms. They have a very locla vibe, have about 20 different coffees to choose from (beans, not brewed) and …
Coffee was okay, and I was digging the live music. It’s a cozy space to hang out and if I visit Philly again I’ll return.
Nice find off the beaten path
Always good coffee and the aroma invites one to drink coffee! The Sunday afternoon concerts are fine. Today April 28, 2019 was no exception. Both Chase Park, Cellist and Lun Li, Violinist were exemplary and flawless in their performance. Another 5 stars for Old City Coffee to showcase Curtis Institute of Music's fine students.
Fresh roasted coffee beans, lattes made just the right way.
Loved this coffee shop! Great menu and friendly staff. Loved the quiet atmosphere and the ability to focus while enjoying my drink.
Favorite place to pick something up before rehearsal or when I'm in the area.. a great neighborhood coffee shop!
Best coffee and welcoming staff
Cute little coffee shop tucked away on a side street in Old City. Coffees and hot chocolate are solid. There is a quiet sitting area adjacent to the cashier area where you can study or simply fritter time away.
Excellent coffee, great atmosphere, friendly service, the only negative is they only have vegan muffins but they are very good for vegan muffins.
Old City Coffee is the perfect place to stop in for a Cortado, daily brew or treat!
Good coffee and nice atmosphere
The aroma of fresh coffee welcomes you inside. Nice vibe
My absolute favorite coffee in this city.
Chai was amazing and nice and spicy. I was told that the latte was also very good by my girlfriend. The chocolate chip cookies had too many chips in them, but other than that they were good. The merch was reasonably priced and you can buy lots of teas and coffee beans here.
We had a wonderful lunch/dinner at this location.
Nice and cheap coffee compared to bigger companies. Totally recommend. They have a room where you can sit and enjoy your coffee.
Nice place to study or read with a view of Old City Philly!
Tried to take my best friend here for Flag Day and the place was packed. Thought it was a good sign but I was wrong. The gnocchi delightful but the barman was a slouch. Next time I'm going to Garage.
Great place to meet friends. Coffee very good.
I get their bulk roasted coffee and love it. Their coffee and desserts are great (good vegan choices too) and the employees are friendly
Great coffee to go or beans to take home!
I like it. Been coming here off and on since around 2000 (i think). They brew better coffee then most. A good amount of homemade items. Their Old City location is cute and quaint. The owners are pleasant and innovative (imo). We love their mugs for purchase design and size.
My go-to coffee spot whenever I'm passing through Olde Center City
Nice quiet spot with lofted ceilings and good amount of natural light. I went there to try out a new spot and it wasn't too bad. Most of the time I was able to just quietly read and everyone else was generally pretty quiet as well.
Nestled on a cobblestone side street in Old City, this cafe may be small but the quality of the coffee speaks for itself. Different coffee blends are each day and you may opt to get your coffee to go or to stay. If you decide to sit in, there is an adjoining room with tables and chairs where you can peacefully enjoy your food and drinks, and where acoustic musicians may often perform for small audiences. In addition to coffee, tea, and baked goods, Bassett’s ice cream and milkshakes are available. If you are looking for somewhere to get caffeinated amidst your day in Old City, this place is it!
I'm not a big coffee drinker, but was recommended to go to this place for both the atmosphere and the drinks. I was told their hot chocolate was delicious so I had one of those. Well let me tell you, that stuff is MAGNIFICENT! As if Zeus himself had poured a cup of ambrosia and served it to me. The coffee smells in this place took my nose on a tour around the world, all from the comforts of one amazing café. While I was only in Philly for a conference, I'm considering moving there for the people..... and Old City Coffee!
Excellent brew in a cozy location and space!
I love the iced mochas from here. Coffee selection fantastic.
Fave coffee place in the city
Great prices for solid coffee.
Fast and friendly service. Cafe also sells kinder Buenos which is a real plus!
Great coffee and cozy atmosphere.
Cappuccino was good, but couple of things made it not 5 stars - the place is cramped and the descriptions of the coffee beans to buy not very good, staff didn't seem friendly.
This is a great little Oasis near Christ Church. We were there for some tours and my kids needed a break, it was a great stop very clean great seating and a clean bathroom. Service was great as was the coffee
Cool place for coffee; was a little messy but otherwise a neat place
Any people from the UK who would like a good cup of tea I would advise stopping here to get some :)
An Old City institution. Great coffee and a wonderful staff.
Nice little shop.
Nice place for a good cup of Joe....
Their cookies are out of this world!
If you're visiting Philly and you're looking for a nice place to get a drink and a croissant, COME HERE. Whenever I see people going to a Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts in Center City, I can never understand why. Why go somewhere you could have gone to at home when there are places like this? I've come here multiple times. The first time I saw this place, I was by myself and I was curious about the area. They have the most amazing iced coffee and earl gray. The most recent time I came here was for a meeting. It's the perfect place for any cafe need. The meeting went amazingly. There's not enough room for other people's chatter to overtake your conversation, but it doesn't really get quiet enough for your conversation to carry throughout the place. I absolutely love this place.
Nice Old City atmosphere, very good coffee and great pastries!
Delicious coffee and baked goods. They also have a great selection of freshly roasted coffee beans and loose leaf tea. And sometimes they have live music!
Very nice atmosphere, nice people and great coffee! Especially for all those European tourists: Here you can get that great coffee you know you have been missing. And all that in a great relaxing way to realistic, modest prices.
It's a small shop, but has seating available. The coffee is well-made and the staff is friendly. 10 times more flavorful than a Starbucks, and the prices are fair. Definitely give this spot a try.
It was the first time to go to the Old City Coffee. Coffee was very good. A gigantic peanut butter cookie was very good, especially it was not very sweet which is very good. However I gave 4 stars because this cafe's interior could be much more cozier. Its outside decorations were very pretty and looked cozy, however its inside interior was very disappointing. Anyway, its coffee and cookies were so good.
Price of their drinks are very reasonable. I think it's cheaper than most cafes around. They also invite musicians on Sunday.
Best mocha latte in philadelphia by far.
Great coffee, and a wonderful spot to stop with a book.
Went here with my wife this past weekend. We both liked the experience and the drinks. Super easy to pay. Chill staff. Not stuck up. Great example of a local independent shop. I ordered an iced americano and wife got an iced caramel latte. We'd definitely recommend and go back, next time in Old City.
Not cheap at all but you can definitely taste the quality. The baristas actually care about the drinks that they put out which is nice to see.
Best coffee in town plus tasty treats
Solid coffee, pleasant environment. I had a decent and very large vegan chocolate chip cookie.
i love it here. really nothing but great experiences here, so i will be back.
Old City staple.
Greatest location, great snacks, awesome coffee, and cutest sitting room ever! Perfect perfect perfect place for afternoon coffee date in Old City.
Old City Coffee is a locally-based roaster. Their blends are creative and rich in flavor, and appropriately priced.
Great coffee, even better muffins.
Quality coffee and service with a quiet, focus oriented environment
Excellent coffee and pastries. Polite service.
Awful service, awful space, awful wifi, awful coffee, go get a better cup at menagerie or ici.
Small cafe with self serve coffee and baked goods. Tucked away on a side street, so it's not as crowded.
Great hidden gem with good coffee, tea, and pastries. They aren't the most affordable, but you honestly get what you pay for here. In my experience, it's never terribly crowded, and I've always been able to find a table in their sitting area. If you're in the area, skip Starbucks and go here.
Nice out of the way place, good coffee and a variety of things to eat.
Great place to grab a hot-drink and work (free wifi). I've held multiple meetings here. The environment is comfortable and cozy. Think: Friends sitcom!
Reminds me of Starbucks when it didn't suck
OCC is the best. A great place to sit, sip, and reflect. Very consistent. Hey, what happened to the neat wall mosaic that was on one of the walls?
Stingy management at Church St. location. Random petty rules make this a very unfriendly establishment. Don't ask them to double cup a hot cup of tea or they will charge you 50 cents for the cup. And whatever you do don't ask for a small sample of the coffee. Even after you've already made a purchase. They will give you a condescending speech about how they are "not in the habit of giving away anything for free." Someone doesn't understand customer relations.
Good coffee spot on a very quite and interesting street. Best bagels in the city.
Best coffee shop in old city. Gonna miss it when our office moves
We stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to take our order, saw workers in the back and they ignored us. Didnt get to try any coffee because they didnt feel like serving us
Jack & Ruth are absolute sweethearts! Keep those delicious soups coming you two : )
I go there often for ethically sourced coffee and their snacks which qre freshly made. It us usually quiet here
Coffee and cookies are awesome. The furnishing could use some love - kinda jenky tables and chairs I'd expect from a lesser coffee shop. It feels like it should be a small cozy place with maybe cushy chairs, maybe a little electric fireplace jib - that would way better suit the vibe here.
Amazing coffee beautiful location
As a local, I'm used to this place! This is a small cafe with inside outside seating....fresh baked bakery items like cookies, bagel, cake, scones and muffins. Pre Packed juices, yogurt and wraps available too. Coffee is bit strong here, always serving seasonal blends.
Sipping a latte at one of their cute tables outside, examining the red brick buildings and watching people walking over the cobblestone streets is as Philadelphia as it will get. They have some phenomenal homemade muffins. Bonus tip: feed pieces of the muffin to the swallows outside to make some quick friends for the morning coffee.
Good coffee and a nice place to go to, quite and you can sit and read a book. Old cities "gold standard"
The coffee is delicious (a surprisingly large number of cafes have mediocre or terrible coffee) and sitting outside is simply delightful along the cobbled street lined with flowers and pestered dog walkers. There's a nicely sized inside sitting area though I'm not sure about the power outlets for the laptops using crowd
Arguably the best coffee in the city. Fresh food and great atmosphere make for a charming and lovely place Not to sound too 1 sided, but my friend does own and manage this establishment...I'm always looking to stop by and say hello to a good friend :)
Coffe was decent but it would have been a better experience if they took your name or gave you an order number so people who ordered after you don’t grab your drinks. Had an excessively long wait. Staff was polite and friendly.
Great drinks (I got an iced dirty chai and my husband got an iced americano), great staff service, great food (berry danish, chocolate croissant, blueberry muffin), and lovely charming atmosphere sitting in the side room or outside along the few tables outside. If I lived in this area, I'd go all the time.
Still one of my favorite places to go for coffee in the city. Quick, easy, excellent coffee and lattes, which scored big points with my boss when he was visiting a client with me in the city. Thanks, OCC!!!
The muffin was a bit dry but the coffee was good
Pretty cafe that sits in the corner of old city. Great coffee and a cozy place to spend time
Very good cappuccinos
Ordered the Iced Coffee, nicely brewed and great meeting spot.
Nice cozy cafe with great cookies & iced tea.
Love this place! been here once but would definitely go back!
Nice coffe shop.:-) very friendly staff
It's a cute little cafe in the old city area. Charming and they also sell variety of coffee beans in there. I would be more appreciative if they serve the drink in a mug rather than paper cups since I told them I will have it to stay. But overall, a place worth the local crowd to work, study, social and coffeee of cox
Super cool and beautiful cafe in the heart of the amazing old city. the coffee is so tasty and the staff very welcome. this area of the city you must visit.. Great prices ! So fair ! Highly recommended.
Not the most pleasant of coffee shops.
Reliable, independent coffeehouse, low-key and friendly staff, great place to get excellent coffee and use wi-fi or have a meeting. Best coffee shop option in the neighborhood. Was happy to stumble across this gem on Church Street.
Still a decent coffee shop after all these years.
very unfriendly staff who usually make you wait. the coffee is fine but overpriced considering the service.
Coffee tasted burnt and pastries tasted not fresh.
Cute. Awesome mint hot chocolate! As someone who hates coffee was great to be able to enjoy a coffee shop with a friend and get a warm beverage.
Delicious homemade muffins and treats. Great small batch coffee. Hidden on Church Street but popular among all of us in the neighborhood!
Great coffee, good sitting area in old city. Should be a definite stop over for people visiting philly
I got a perfect soy latte when enjoying a day in old city. I have high standards when it comes to my drinks, and they exceeded my expectations. There are some massive cookies, bulk tea & coffee, misc. baked goods, ice cream and milk shakes available too. My husband had an oatmeal raisin cookie, my cousin a cappuccino milk shake. Both enjoyed and finished their tasty treats and we rested our feet in the cute cafe. We will for sure go back.
Great little place down a side street .
In & out under 3 min. Quiet place just how I like my mornings.
Very small shop on a small side street with seating area on the other side. Quality coffee, always good.
Good coffee and decent bakery menu. Good place to go and work on a laptop (have outlets), or read a book with a cup of coffee and croissant; or just relax :)
Staff was helpful and I enjoyed the location and atmosphere but unfortunately my partner and I both were unhappy with the taste of our drinks. I was unable to finish mine (glad I went with a small!).
Cute little coffee shop located just off of Market St. in Old City. I always get the Hot Caramel Latte and it’s consistently delicious. They have chocolate covered espresso beans at the counter—be sure to grab some of those, too!
Overall better experience and service than Starbucks. They offer coffee by the pound that range from $13 to $16 per lb. which is a little pricey but worth it. They have a daily assortment of muffins, bagels, and pastries. They also offer fresh squeezed orange juice, mixed salad, a vegetable wrap, granola with Greek yogurt, oatmeal, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisn cookies. You can also purchase the granola by the pound. It has a soft texture and is delicious. Ask for a loyalty card which gives you a free pound of coffee after the purchase of 10 lbs. They have tables and chairs to enable customers to enjoy their coffee in a relaxed atmosphere as well.
Great coffee and treats. Quiet spot, off the main (busy) road!
I visit this place once, and I mesmerized about what I see.
Great coffee, great service and charming, comfortable ambience
