Here you have the reviews of people who purchase the products and services of TILT (Coffee Shop) around Oregon area.
At the moment the firm gets a rating of 4.3 stars out of 5 and the score was based on 2423 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an reviews average is very good, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can think that the rating is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to give their review when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give opinions when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Coffee Shop belongs to the category of Hamburger restaurant.
Very expensive but for the amount of food you get, it seems worth it. One of my favorite places to get a sandwich and the fries and ranch are amazing. The pie is also amazing.
Delicious fried chicken sandwiches. The 14% tip with the tip jar out when you have to get your own drinks and clean your own tables is a bit much tho. It's expensive out here tho and i want everyone to be able to make a decent wage
We only got drinks but the menu looked amazing, great prices compared to places in that area. Was a great experience
Good place for a greasy burger. The house made tater tots are dangerously good.
Best burger in the pearl but even better bbq salad. I've always been a burger guy but was craving a salad last summer and now I get the bbq salad 9 out of 10 times I go.
I have been here 3 times now and love to get the Ruben, It is so stinkin good.
Not worth the cost. The food was decent, but nothing fantastic, especially not for $15 for a burger and $5 for fries and an automatic 14% service fee. There is no service at this establishment. You order at the counter and pick it up once your sensor buzzes, then you bus and clean your own table. There is no one wiping off tables in between customers, so if you care about not eating on top of someone else's mess and you're a decent person, you're doing twice the work. We waited over 45 minutes for ONE burger and ONE order of fries. When we went up to check on the status of the order, the employee just said "it's REALLY busy" though when we arrived and ordered, there was no one in front of us in line. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I love this place! The food is great. They have reasonable prices, friendly staff, and overall a great place to eat. The only downside is the loud music. You can't even have a conversation.
This place is awesome the burger is good Service was great I enjoy clean is awesome Is very good,
Amazing food, good atmosphere
Huge portions—don’t miss a burger and homemade tots. Fun vibe but not over-the-top. Great beer rotation, too.
Great burgers, even better pies. Gets pretty busy. Expect a wait time if you’re coming with friends.
One of the best burger places in Portland Downtown, the service is fast. The burgers tasted so good.
So. Damn. Delicious. Possibly my new favorite burger place.
Great vibe and food is awesome. The chicken strips are so worth it.
AWFUL service. i don’t usually do reviews, but the server was literally standing on the counter lol. they charged us a $4 service fee, which i assume went straight into their tip jar, then they asked for an additional tip. managers, you need to clean up your staff. there are so many bad reviews about the service, it is astounding that nothing has changed.
I’ve been to this location about 4 times. Except for my most recent experience, I would have recommended Tilt because I actually really like their burgers. The wait for food can be long but it’s usually not excessive. Every other time the music has been a casual volume and consistently played classic songs that everyone get generally agree are palatable. This time I guess whoever controlled the music needed a Lizzo fix because that’s the ONLY music that played from the moment we entered to exiting, all told over an hour in the restaurant. The only reason I know that is because I started noticing the vocalist always sounded the same after 3 or 4 songs so we Shazam’d it. It was also blasting so loudly the bass thumped through the whole place - both my girlfriend and I left with a headache. I was standing next to her while she ordered at the counter and I couldn’t hear anything she or the cashier was saying. It’s a burger joint not a club for crying out loud. I don’t even usually want to listen to artists I actually like for that long and definitely not that loudly, and it affects my experience tremendously. Next time we think about Tilt I will probably suggest we try to think of something else. Restaurants should have some semblance of consistency, not only with food but with atmosphere, otherwise what is the point in taking the gamble?
The food was ok at best. The 14% service fee was ridiculous considering the "service" taking the order... Customers are expected to retrieve their orders and bus their own tables so I'm not sure what the service fee went towards. $40 for 2 mediocre burgers.
Tilt is awesome. Staff is great, food is delicious, pies are on point.
Huge portions. Great bang for the buck. Nice people who work there. Excellent grub.
The food, especially the burger patty itself and the fries, was quite good. I liked the industrial vibes and that there was plenty of seating. However, the service was horrible and the restaurant was trashed. We waited a long time for our food, had to witness servers fighting because they buzzed us too soon, and had to go back 3 times to get everything we ordered. My burger bun was hard on the top and soggy on the bottom from sitting under the heat lamp for so long. The servers all seemed high and like they could care less if we got our food or not. All this would be acceptable paying half as much at a McDonald's but paying full service restaurant prices plus a serve charge means I expect more even at the busy time we went.
Food was great. There was never anyone at any of the counters so we found a table & someone brought us menus & said they would take our orders. Even though he was 3 feet away from us at the bar & we told him several times we were ready, he didn't take our order for over an hour. 30 minutes after that he brought a pager. He was still the only staff member there. 20 minutes after that the pager went off and we went looking for our food. It was an odd system. The pie is fantastic. The server made sure our dog had fresh water. I would go back, but, only if I have the time to spare or order takeout ahead of time and pick it up
The staff was friendly, the food was good. It's overpriced and they tack on a tip fee. Now, I get that service industry workers are underpaid and undervalued, but a forced tip for counter service (along with a tip jar next to the register area) is over the top for this place. Won't return just in general principle. If they even bussed tables, then that may be worth a forced tip, but yeah, thanks but no thanks. I worked for my tips, this just makes those who survive on tips feel devalued. Why work hard when you can just get something for northing? Shame.
The drinks are delicious here. Food is very heavy but very scrumptious if you're in on the calorie count. Outdoor seating too!
Unbelievable food. I got the fried chicken, bacon cheese biscuit sandwich. The price was good for the sandwich. I don't understand the 14% service charge when you have to tray yourself up and plus they have additional tip jar. Amazing food!
The fries were good, but it's very overpriced. The ranch is weird as well. And the lighting? Trippy!
Will not be returning. The primary reason is that Tilt has implemented a mandatory service charge. The next is that they refused to allow modifications to accommodate an allergy because it's burger week. Not to the special burger, they will not allow modifications to any menu item. I'm left wondering where's the service they're charging extra for...
Delicious hamburger! I ordered the big tilt with 2 burger patties, an egg and bacon strips for $11. What I got was 3 burger patties, an egg and bacon strips for $15, no fries. I was able to put it away though. Check your order.
Food was pretty good. Wait was a bit long. But the reason I'm giving 1 star is because the staff was absolutely rude as hell. No personalities whatsoever. Gave annoyed looks when asked why the pager was flashing red and when asked for a lid to take home our tots. All of this and they charged a 14% service fee... for what? Existing? I bused my own table. They also have tip jars full of cash already! Will not be going back nor recommending.
They now charge a 14% service fee on all orders. I don't get it. Its basically a McDonalds. You pick up your food from the counter, seat yourself, and bus your own table. If you want to pay your workers more do it on your dime or be upfront and raise the prices instead of using a sneaky service fee, which is probably just going into the owners pocket. Boo! Don't eat here.
Chicken sandies are amazing. Fries are also great. The Industrial vibe of the furniture and fixtures may not be for everyone, but honestly make this place what it is: an industrial burger joint in metropolitan downtown Portland.
The food here is great but the portions are rather small for the price. Still, if you don't mind spending $$, this is a nice place. It's popular and that's for one reason, good food and drink.
This is a good place for food especially on nice days because the windows and doors open to the outside. There's also outdoor seating. There are sandwiches, burgers, fries and pie. I ordered bacon tater tots and it took forever for my order. They were great but maybe not for the 30 minute wait. Very industrial setting. Bus your own tables.
Good burgers, a little spendy but I presume as much for Portland any way. There's a 14% service fee in every order, but they don't say why. Guessing it's a tip since you pick up your food and bus your table? Food is good though, fries are beer battered which you don't find often.
I ate here and ordered the veggie burger and a side of fries. The fries were great and the veggie burger was good. It's certainly not nearly the best veggie burger I've had - so for the higher price, I would have expected better. However, it all depends on taste, my boyfriend had the same thing and loved his burger. The atmosphere is great. It can be busy at times, but was slow when I ate here. They also have a selection of pies, which look delicious. Great place to visit!
I was angry with my partner because I ft it was too expensive. Turns out it was worth every dollar. Also, the draft cocktails are STRONK. Folks are kind.
Good food but super pretentious staff... If you want a good burger - and don't care about rude employees, or being forced to pay a tip (they include it when billing your card) then go check it out!
Burgers and food are fine. Price and service are horrible. Workers do not show any sort of customer service. Pretty sad cause I liked the food but I will NEVER go back and wouldnt reccomend this place unless you like being treated bad.
14% service charge is unbelievable. Just raise your menu prices, don’t add some ridiculous charge. Especially when your “service” falls short of McDonalds. Come on, do better.
A little pricey but an awesome burger.
Loved the burgers and this spicy sauce is just great...this is the town for foodies and this is a must not miss stop on the trip. The French fries had a great crisp bite, but those tater tots....massive and so worth it! Loved out late night bite.
Good food, tater tots are huge and delicious. Music is a bit loud at nights but it makes for a fun atmosphere.
They were out of bacon when I went but everything else was good
Very good prices!!! We got two burgers (with two patties and lots of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and sauce), a piece of Marion berry pie for $17. Burger was delicious and had a subtle sweetness that made the whole thing come together. Meat was a perfect chuck blend and came together well. The pie: excellent. Didn’t come hot like I asked for, but the berries had a nice tartness to them and a nice squish to it that gave the pie an excellent texture that complemented the flaky crust.
Most poor reviews state the same thing: a 14% required gratuity combined with poor service = a sub par experience. Our visit proved these reports true. This is a pity, the burgers are good and I had a great Cobb salad. Prices are kind of high for burgers - about $14. Considering you pick up your food, bus your table, and it is loud and super casual in here, the price is already pushing it. However, stank face from the cashier when ordering...and then the same cashier giving stink eye when another employee is nice enough to hand me a to-go lid.... I highly recommend TILT re-consider its current operation. Either give us super service like Tom Douglas restos in Seattle (where they have auto gratuity added) or let people tip for the service they receive...
Terrible experience. Went with a group of friends. We all got salads. No one liked their food. Add insult to injury...they add an automatic 14% gratuity. For what? You wait in line to order. Wait to pick up your food. Then bus your own dishes! And service was way rude! Why bother to be polite when you get the tip for no effort???
I ordered a simple burger and fries to go about a hour and when I asked how much longer, I gotten major attitude. Never going again unless their employees attitudes change
This place was recommended by a friend who lives here, they serve really yummy burgers and pies. Everything I ordered was delicious, my only comment would be the fries sizing which is more for sharing than for a single person, apart from that really loved the place.
Yikes... they're charging a 14% service fee and do not inform you about it. Why are we tipping?!!! All the staff are honestly rude and unhelpful and make you feel unwelcome. I asked the lady (who gave me 0 greeting or smile when I walked up and I was the only person in the restaurant) what the difference between the regular burgers and their signature burgers were, and she said 'one has stuff on it.' I was confused as to why my bill was over a dollar higher than what it should have been and received no receipt. The kicker is that YOU pick your own food up, and bus your own table. It's comparable to fast food. The food was pretty good, but there are tons of flies buzzing around as they do not clean the tables and it's super filthy. Will not be back and almost want to dispute the charge on my card since I was not charged what I ordered, I did not consent to the 14% service fee.
Large, industrial space is interesting and hip. Counter service format is fast and convenient. The fried chicken sandwich had a great crisp coating and a nice tender piece of chicken. The honey mustard dressing on it was a touch sweet and the jalapeno didn't really come through, so add some hot sauce if you like it spicy. Onion rings also nice and crisp with a choice of 5 or so dips.
Cool spot in Pearl district. Food was pretty good but definitely over priced. Workers were a bunch of air heads..but other than that A for effort. ✊
This place has gone downhill. NOW tagging on 14% to every bill!!!?? NOW they have the audacity to put a tip jar out too!!!! Used to be a great place for burgers but lately everything sucks. We popped in for breakfast this morning. HARD STALE biscuit, like rock solid on the corners. My partner's biscuit was okay but they forgot the ham on his ham egg cheese biscuit. NEVER AGAIN. I also saw the other burgers and biscuits coming out of the kitchen. Limpid flaccid looking sandwiches. REPEAT NEVER AGAIN
Honestly was looking forward to this place I like the building alot but here's why I gave 3 stars after 4 adults ordered food the total was 85.00 and at that price I was thinking these will probably be very good. Sat down and waited visited with family our food was ready and when we got it from the pick up counter they looked very small and not well stacked for $85 and McDonald's style food I'll never go back
Truth be told .. I've only come for the pies. Crazy good.. apple, berry and cream pies!
Went here yesterday after a pretty intense meeting at work to enjoy one of their delicious chicken sandwiches. I get to the register and I was greeted with a warm smile and was asked how my day was. I told her my day wasn’t going that great and that’s why I was there (the chicken sandwich will turn your day around lol) the beautiful, sweet woman upfront then offered me a free piece of pie to make up my bad day. Btw it was the peanut butter Oreo pie and it was DELICIOUS! After the amazing customer service, delicious chicken and pies I WILL BE BACK!
Great burgers, cool industrial setting. The "service charge" feels wrong ; charge me for what I ordered, don't add a charge that I didn't order.
This used to be one of our favorite lunch spots. The food has gone downhill over the past year or so plus this new 14% added gratuity is crazy. The prices are too high for the quality and although I'm an advocate for tipping, 14% is a bit steep for a place where you have to pick up your order and bus your own table.
Ordered a burger to go. Paid nearly $20 for a burger and fries. Waited literally 45 minutes before politely asking how much longer because I had to be back to work. Server was extremely rude when informing me that there were still 4 orders ahead of mine. Got my food 10 minutes later, already late for work. The burger was cold. Cheese was not melted, and fries were soggy. This place has a good rating but if you look at the recent reviews it looks like most people have been having similar experiences lately.
The burgers here are great but the bacon tater tots are the best thing in the menu. They also have a good selection of beers and cocktails. The happy hour is also a good deal for appetizers. They are located right in the middle of the brewery blocks and have some outdoor seating if you want to bring your dog.
The brisket, bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit is the best. Love it. I wish they still "tilted it down" where you get it with sausage gravy all over.
Too expensive for a burger place with added 14% service charge even though it is a self service. Food is okay.
Food is great but personally, I think charging a service fee is very unreasonable since their food is already expensive as it. Especially since the menu has gone through price hikes as well since we've started going to TILT. Can't remember the percentage of the service charge but I believe it's between 15-20% which makes a burger with a side of fries cost nearly $20... HUGE bummer... Can't afford going back unless they reduce their prices or drop the service charge. With the cost of their food already being high, there's gotta be room to pay their employees better without putting the burden on the consumer. Seems like the owners want to pay their employees better but don't want it coming out of their pockets so they're laying it on the consumer.
They charge a 14% service fee. Annoying. And messed up our orders.
Great food! Highly recommend a visit!
The food tastes good. The drinks are amazing. Its VERY loud--the music and the crowd. Lots of younger people. The biggest problem is how loud and expensive it is.
It has been a while since I have been here. But I remember liking it.
They added a 14% "service fee", but everything is self-serve. You can't opt out of the fee, and they don't tell you about it ahead of time. Plus they still put out two tip jars. WTH?
No private parking but plenty of street parking. Open table concept where you order at the front and they bring your food to your table. The burgers are great. Sunrise burger has the most delicious bacon. The bar is in the back. The cocktails in the back are wonderful.
Food was tasty but a little pricey.
The server behind the counter didn't seem overly friendly or attentive, and the wait was fairly long, but when it came, my Big Tilt Burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a LONG time. Meat was soft (in a good way, the opposite of tough or chewy), cheese was appropriately gooey, bacon was delightfully thick and sweet/salty, bun had a pleasing texture and was a positive part of the experience rather than just filler carbs. The total package was a towering, messy mountain of savory goodness. The pies looked absolutely fantastic (especially the key lime), but as I had already indulged in some sweets that day, I didn't partake. Next time, perhaps.
They definitely have their processes down and the food didn't disappoint. I'm not that into burgers and fries so I'm looking forward to see where they are original but it's great for groups and kids I noticed.
Awesome place to eat!!! Hit this place on my way back from Canada to Bakersfield, waitress are so nice I highly recommended this place
Excellent excellent customer service! Burgers were bomb! I ordered a cocktail that was invented there; so so good! Great atmosphere too!
Great burgers, dirty tables, but did I mention the delicious burgers?
Good food/drinks, but the atmosphere is a little cold and mismatched with the offerings... steel walls and industrial deco next to a case full of grandma’s pies? Just felt odd. Tilt burger was good, and 6 inches tall. Huge heap of fries. Under-order even if you’re hungry to save room for other good stuff on the menu. I’d go back.
No complaints. Decent burgers. Fries too crispy (for my liking). Loved the atmosphere.
Cannot fault the food. Hearty burgers. Great selection of American pies. Lovely building and setting. However grossly understaffed and unsure why I paid a mandatory 14% service fee for no service.
Awesome fries and fry sauce. The freebird is my go to as the jalapeno slaw on it is to die for. Highly recommend!
My favorite burger place would definitely recommend the fries, the chicken tenders and the big tilt.
I had a just okay chicken sandwich on a biscuit and good jalapeño tater tots. I should have had a burger, they looked better. The full service bar is a nice surprise and there are seats in the back near a fireplace. The highlight was an excellent piece of key lime pie.
The giant burgers were so cheap and the bacon cheese tots were greasy and delicious as the name suggests. Everything was superb!
Food took 45 mins to arrive and waitress was rude when I enquires about it! They take 14% service automatically when you pay, probably because they know they wouldn't get much after such poor service! Far too many lovely places nearby to eat to go to this place.
14% Service charge when they do not employ wait staff or bus staff AND they still put out a tip jar... They will charge extra for lettuce wrapping burgers because iceburg lettuce costs more than a burger bun? And don't think you can ask for a extra sauce for your tots or fries without being charged. These are just small examples of how they now look for any way to nickel and dime you. New management seems to have lost touch with what should be included with a $20+ meal. I would recommend avoiding and going to near by places that treat you with respect.
We all really enjoyed our burgers. They did not disappoint as far as the size of their burgers. They had great fries as well as that's very important to most Oregonians. Family friendly service. Will definitely go back. My only beef is having to bus my own table. After a long Sunday of yard work and a dump run I just wanted to eat and walk away. Still a great place!
This place use to be our families go to joint for a good burger and some delicious pie. Any time one of our friends or family members visited I would either take them here or at least strongly recommend stopping by Tilt for a world class burger. However, today we were surprised to see an additional 14% "Service Charge" tacked onto our bill. I didn't even notice it at first since the menu prices are pretty high to begin with, but since the food is delicious it has always been worth it and never minded. What I find the most puzzling is that they have the adacity to charge a "service" charge when we the customer have to order at the counter, go pick up your food and drinks, and even bus your own tables. What exactly is this service charge for? we are already paying top dollar for the food and beverages, you charge extra for substitutions like lettuce wrapped burgers, and also charge if you want a side of ranch to go with your fries.I would think the cost of the meal would be able to pay the employees a living wage and then give us the customers the ability to tip the staff when they provide excellent service at the Bar. Unfortunately Tilt will no longer be on my list of places to recommend or visit as I don't believe their method of an additional service charge is warranted. If you need me you can find me over at Killer Burger. Cheers!
This place used to be great. But their sandwiches have been getting smaller they've changed to worse Bread and today we discovered an additional service charge on our bill with no explanation. She explained it's because they don't take tips anymore. I am sorry, but I don't tip three dollars at a place with no wait staff. You can't keep making everything worse, smaller and then charge more money. We won't be coming back. Dumb!
Love Tilt, great place for good burgers, fries, and pies. Also, at night they have an awesome bar scene here and have great drinks too. They have a great atmosphere and are pretty quick once you order.
Great brunch spot tucked away a little bit in the Pearl. Eat outside on a nice day, then wander the street and explore plenty of shops with extensive offerings. The price for my breakfast sandwich was very reasonable for the area, filling, and had a wonderful fluffy, fresh biscuit.
WOW. An amazing burger for a great price! Two of us shared a meal because it was so much food. The pies looked amazing. We came in between dinner and lunch so there was no line and plenty of places to sit.
14% "service charge" for us doing all the work? Not sure what this is about. If it's supposed to be for a "living wage", then just raise the prices of the food and do away with an extra charge.
Great burgers! I frequent the Pearl location often, as well as the SE one. I am not sure why there are bad reviews, I have always had positive experiences!
TILT takes classic old school drive-in style burgers and pushes them further without losing the soul of what makes a traditional burger. To be clear these are not "chefy burgers" like most modern places make, but they are really solid carefully thought out burgers that show a chef's touch and commitment to a specific set of ideals. For example, the iceberg lettuce is precisely cut into thick plates, providing cool freshness and crunch, american cheese drapes over doubled thin patties, which maximizes the surface area (in crust we trust), and the burgers are piled high with toppings. I got The Big Tilt, and this meat monster was over 6" tall, near the end I struggled, dare I say it had almost too much meat. Hamburger? More like dayyyyum-burger!
I’ve recently moved to the neighborhood and have been checking out spots to regular. This place was immediately removed off our list to visit or bring any of our frequent guests to. Upon arrival we watched four or five people behind the counter carrying out conversations. We were finally greeted by someone who was interrupted and swooped back into her conversation with her colleagues before attending to us. We decided a place that does not care about customer service does not need our patronage.
Great place to hang out, drink beer, chill and play ping pong. Very vibrant and has a good crowd. Will definitely come back
Everytime I make it back home I make sure we hit tilt for breakfast. Kid friendly and the food is amazing! Their biscuits and gravy are hard to beat anywhere else. The sandwiches (breakfast or burgers) are really good too! Definitely need to check it out if you haven't been there before.
Wow. Food is always amazing. Kinda blows my mind that they're a bar too and serve pie.
It's not that good of a place, for the amount of money you spend the food does not taste that good, the music is pretty loud to the point you cant hear the person across the table and the customer service is pretty bad considering the 14% "service charge". It's all self serve and you have to use your clothes to dry your hands after you wash them. Plenty of other places that are more worth the money!
Hard to eat, overly decadent, fatty. The sandwiches certainly look impressive, but I just couldn’t get into it. Flavors and textures were not balanced. Pie was nothing to write home about either. Fries were ok. It also took a very very long time. Not rushing to return.
For uncomplicated and quality burgers you can't go wrong stopping by tilt. The burger meat is really juicy and tender. Service was fast and friendly. The place is laid back without being pretentious.
The food was good. The one taking the order was inattentive and missed my onion rings. She did quickly get me some and didn't charge extra, so kudos to her for taking responsibility.
Good food. Good atmosphere
Awesome place to have a date or meet with friends. We went on a weekend and it was super busy, but we didn't wait long for food. I'd say the prices are average for burger and fries. The bar side looked awesome and there was seating outside which is perfect for summer.
what's up with the 14% service fee?? for what? you do everything yourself there and have to wait 30 minutes for food. Ridiculous
I like the vibe of this place and the cocktails are creative and tasty. However, the staff is incredibly rude. I ordered a beer for my friend and the bartender poured the wrong one (after repeating my order back to me before going to pour it). Wasn't a big deal, I just politely asked for the correct one. He rolled his eyes at me, gave me an annoyed sigh, and asked me if I had a card to pay with (he sounded each word out-very condescending). The rest of the staff also seemed like they hated everything about the place. Won't be going back.
Great burgers, beers and pies. For reduced guilt, replace the burger bun with lettuce. I promise that it's much tastier than you're thinking! As for seating, it's group style wooden benches. But more comfortable than that sounds. And you can sit in or sit out.
Ok food - they got our order wrong. The pork gravy fries were weird, but that's not on them.
We came here for burger week. $5 was a great deal. This was the best burger we had for burger week. Other places were good too, bu Tilt specialize in burgers so they know what they're doing. The fries were really good too.
The food and atmosphere was amazing.
Delicious food and beer, relatively decent service. Occasionally the crew doesn't seem very attentive or concerned with customer service, but it's a small price to pay for delicious snacks, pie, and beer with a coop spot to hangout and absorb downtown.
Great place for burgers and fries. Located in a former machine shop, it still maintains some of the old machines as decor.
By far the best burgers I've ever tasted! And great beer too.
Hey management. Instead of forcing a 14% "Service Fee" and make the people it's supposed to be for have to answer angry customer questions about it, raise your prices and pay your staff a living wage. Cowards.
The burger was great! Huge portion size. And the decor was very unique.
Fantastic Burger. The Tilt was awesome.
Great place to get some food and a beer. If the line is long in the front order at tge bar.
Chicken fingers were perfect
The cheesey tots were amazing. The burger was okay. The marionberry pie was bad.
My friend and I really like this place. The seating is very comfortable and the place is clean and nice, very relaxing. Service was incredibly amazing, attentive, quick and they make sure you feel comfortable. Savory burger that was so fine and the flavor really food, well must say everything we had here was incredibly delicious that make us want to come back.
Outstanding hamburgers. Go, go right now
No question about the good food and super friendly staff, the tots will knock socks off. The reason for one star? No tip line on debit/cc transactions. Shame (bell tolls)... Shame (bell tolls)... Shame (bell tolls)
“Service is everything” said no staff at Tilt ever. The burgers and pies are good but, man, if I’m going to tip someone it’s going to be because I had a great experience. When I got my burger they forgot my pie, so I asked if they could see what happened to it and they rolled their eyes and wouldn’t even answer me. Not coming back to this place to pay an automatic tip of 14% for horrible service. Unbelievable.
It took about 45mins until we received our cold sandwich and regular burger. The fries that came with the food were cold by the time it was served. You order at a counter and bus your own tables, but the person who took our order was pleasant, other than that not much too comment on service.
Busy and hip atmosphere. Food was underwhelming and expensive. 5stars for interior decorator. Food, negative 3 stars.
Honestly the best classic burger place in all of Portland. Other sandwich options are all very well done and made from scratch. The fries are perfection and the quantity is immense. Can get hectic on the weekends so plan accordingly because the line can go right out the door. Started charging extra for sauces but that’s a small price to pay for such well made food.
The burgers and chicken sandwich are very good.
The food is amazing, but they added this new "service charge" of %14. They have a sign in the front that is covered by menus and one where people line up but if someone is standing there you can't see it. The lady checking out doesn't even inform you so when I saw the additional charge I was like what's that for? She said it's because people are not tipping ....yet you have two tip jars full of cash right there. Meaning if you tip them cash without realizing you already were forced to tip them in the purchase they are getting like %25 or more depending on how much you usually tip. That's not fair. If you're going to force everyone to tip then get rid of the tip jars, or inform people as they check out and say oh btw you'll be paying a %14 "service charge" tip. I think that's super shady of them. What if the food is bad (which it never is) or if the service is bad then you were forced to pay a tip either way. The food is great, but these new "policies" are super shady. Hence the one star. This used to be my favorite place, but I like to be the person making the decision to tip and not management.
Loud, expensive, dirty, and rude staff. The one burger, three chicken strips and one shake me and my husband shared for almost $40 tasted good.
I've been to Tilt four times now and each time has been good. This is an order at the counter and pick up at the counter style restaurant. The food is pretty good, and the restaurant is clean. They have a full bar which is nice. I have never had an incorrect order, nor has anyone that I have eaten with.
Perfectly cooked crispy fries. Their signature Big Tilt Burger is phenomenal, primarily due to their high quality beef. Vegetable toppings (particularly the tomatoes) could have been more fresh, but pleased nonetheless.
Food was amazing, but service is non-existent. Very much a fend-for-yourself location.
Far cry from what it used to be. Expensive, slow, and worst of all bad :( I used to love this place, they made great burgers and I would get a medium rare, true freshly ground beef patty. Now they serve you thin dry patties that are almost certainly frozen (at least they look and taste like it) no juice in them at all; bone dry. Worst of all; expensive! Paid almost 17 dollars for the burger, no fries and just water. They charge you a service fee! A service fee for the worst service, it took them almost 40 minutes to get my food, and they got it wrong twice. Had I not paid upfront I would've walked out. At least if it had been worth the wait... I'm disappointed and feel like I was robbed, paid almost twenty dollars for what couldve easily been a McDonald's burger on a bad day.
For an automatic 14% service charge on every order, I would expect not to bus my own table and not have to wait 40 minutes for my food from ordering. With a standard quality burger costing $15 and unkind staff, not worth it. Be aware of a very long wait and poor service.
I have been here approximately five times in the last four years. The food is almost always good. The only time I was disappointed was when I ordered the cobb salad several years back. Other than that, the burgers are great! Everyone I go with is always satisfied. Prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is pretty cool. It is a blue collar, industrial themed place with lots of steel and machinery about. On my last visit I found that they replaced the reusable red shop rags with a paper alternative. The red rags were a nice touch.
Husband liked the biscuits and gravy, but my spinach salad was literally dripping in dressing and was mostly inedible. For $14 it was hard to have that wasted. The food ordering area said we had to go to bar to order drinks, despite there being beer taps by the door pickup... Also, we brought our 1yo and had to change him in the bathroom. The changing station was broken, so it tilted down where a kid would fall. I had to prop it up on my thighs to keep it level so my son wouldn't roll off.
Went for burger week and waited 40 minutes for a bad sad burger. Bad service. Cool looking place with good music and nice outdoor seating. Maybe come here for drinks but please stay away from the burgers.
The burgers and fries were delicious! Pie was extra delicious!! If I lived here it would be one of my go to places once a month!
I had the big tilt oh my God Whataburger you need to try it that's all I need to say awesome just straight goodness
Had a blast here with my family, clean place, courteous staff.
Delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Great place to make a regular spot.
A little spendy but great food. Loved it.
This place was very disappointing. The prices are too high for what you get and then you pay a 14% gratuity automatically... Even though this is a fast casual place where there is no wait staff and you bus yourself. Not to mention the people we did interact with there were not even pleasant but they still got 14% for doing nothing. The food was mediocre. The burger and fries were like McDonald's level but for 3x more money. The location and atmosphere is good but I wouldn't go there again.
Cheeseburger was great. Nice balance of toppings. Gave the homemade jalapeno tots a chance. Not that impressed. Hence 4 stars.
I’ve been to the other TILTs for lunch and their massive burgers are delicious. The layout of this one is a bit different, but still on brand...the industrial, edgy feel. I only had a breakfast and beer, biscuits with honey butter and eggs. It was alright. The butter just comes in little packs and the biscuit wasn’t as fresh as I had hoped. Cool spot tho.
BIG appetites only! Go here knowing that you will leave feeling like you need to climb a mountain before or after to burn it all off. But it's delicious! Burgers and fries are incredible. I will say their pies are not my favorite, the crusts are thick and somewhat dry.
This place has the worst service I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I find it ridiculous that there is an added on 14% gratuity, no matter how terrible the service. They're just encouraging horrible service. The costomer does all the work aside from the cooking and washing their own table.
Hands down the best breakfast sandwich and biscuits and gravy I've ever had... Highly recommended
Really delicious burger. Sunday Happy Hour is great - $4 drafts 3-6p! The Carne Jefe burger was really good. The fries were plentiful and crispy. The jalapeno ranch was great with the fries!
Burgers are off the chain! Pie is top notch, the bartenders take care of you, and the selection of beer on draft delivers.
Good location with outdoor seating. Food was good but not great. Big potions. Inconsistent service, some employees were polite and others ignored me.
Used to come here often. Now they charge a 14% fee so that they can pay their employees “tips” I do not believe that’s happening at all. Raise your prices by 14% and still allow tips and pay your employees more. It’s a shame because the food is decent.
100% the best burger of my life! Good beer and cider selection as well! The tots see life changing...
Fun environment. Great staff. Well maintained and up to date building. Clean and inviting. Great, music food and service. Would recommend anyone who wants a quick bite with friends or space to grab lunch and chat to check it out.
Don’t be fooled. Spartan industrial uncomfortable interior, expectation to bus your own area (HA!), AND a 14% service charge(that no one could explain). My burger came out of the kitchen in a puddle of egg yolk! Maybe that was what the 14% up charge was for! Never again.
In one sentence: Understated ambiance and great food and cocktails. We had the free bird and it has to be one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The chicken was so crunchy, that one could probably hear me biting into it across the room. And it was perfectly paired with Italy old town hazy IPA. The place has a variety of seating options to suit ones need whether one is in a large group and one needs a more intimate setting... absolutely loved the place!
Soooo good!! Definitely could have split the fries with husband.. You get a HUGE pile of them. Everything was AMAZING and DEFINITELY worth the wait. No question!!
Gotta be the worst service I've ever experienced. Girl working the register was very dismissive and acting like the patrons coming in were an annoyance. Waited over and hour for chicken strips and a side of tatos tots. Food is good, but service is garbage.
Great place. The food was pretty amazing and the atmosphere was nice. Pretty busy, so I'm surprised they could fit our group of 10 in there so quickly. They did a great job with everything.
Cheeseburger was pretty solid and the peanut butter Oreo pie was one of the best pies I've had in a while
