This Coffee Shop is included in the category of American restaurant.
Great little diner with reasonable prices and good portions. Wait time can be a little higher than your average spot, but it's worth it.
They are closed down because of cockroaches.
The absolute best !!!!!!! I have been going there for years and everything is awesome. No matter what you get to eat, it is always cooked perfectly. Staff is super. I have "corrupted" so many of my friends by bringing them there and now they are regulars to. It is Columbus's answer to "Cheers."
Been going to the Coffee Shop for years. I think I've had everything on the menu, and it's all great, and for an unbelievable price. The owners and everyone else are fantastic people, even Craig :)
Food is delicious, cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices.
Friendly, fast service, good food, cheap prices. What more do I need to say? It's a little family run dinner with a family feel. A place where regulars come in and are immediately handed their favorite drink. Exceeds all expectations
Small hole in the wall type place with good breakfast options. Made to order so be prepared to wait. Would go back.
The breakfast and service were great!
Friendly staff, attentive service, well-prepared food, and good prices. Thanks for a nice meal, guys! I'll be back.
My favorite place. If I take you here, then you are super special
Small and cozy. Friendly folks. Good food.
Food was amazing and the staff was very friendly
Great food! If you are looking for a small place with quality food and service, this is where you want to go. The staff is very friendly and make you feel like you are at you grandma's house. I would go back.
Every few weeks, I'll take a vacation day and take my six year old son here for lunch during the week. The omelets are basic but definitely hit the spot (have them toss in jalapeños and hash browns!). My son (and who am I kidding, me as well!) LOVES the enormous pancake. It's one of the best in town. The prices are cheap as well. It's a TINY place, so there's usually a wait, but, it's such a friendly and delicious place that it's worth it.
Omg!!! Their sandwiches are delicious!!! Their sides are home made and they are so delicious!!! I highly recommend this place!!!
Small friendly diner with good food ..!! In a cool area of Columbus !! Worth a try for sure
Very nice little diner!! Our servers were as sweet as pie!! Great prices for great food!
Always amazing. It's nice to go somewhere that forces you to slow down and have a calming experience.
Wonderful place. Wonderful people
Crowded and a long wait but good foods and good prices $
Delicious neighborhood diner. the patty melt was amazing and my husband said the omelet was great. highly recommend.
Love this place. Good food at very reasonable price.
Cozy and friendly place with the old bar&booth diner vibe in a great part of town.. Pretty simple, typical menu. Not bad ingredients by any means, but not really anything that stood out...the fact that they use REAL cheese is an appreciated detail ;D
Awesome place for breakfast. Really great omelets. Can be a little bit of a wait on weekends. The prices are also really great. Staff is super friendly. Highly recommend for breakfast, brunch or lunch. Definitely a great spot in Columbus.
It was closed the last time I went. But I've been before, and it was good.
A hidden gem, my absolute favorite place for breakfast in Columbus.
This place is always packed and with good reason ...crazy good breakfast at 1985 prices. The short order cooks have their trade down to a science. Perfect eggs every time and huge pancakes. Seriously, you only need one.
Food was great, omelette was perfect, service was good, kept our coffee cups full
Staff, price point, and the food make this place one of our most frequently visited places for breakfast & lunch. Hours are early but worth the effort to visit. Be prepared to leave your name at the counter & join a line of folks outside, waiting for seating to open up on weekends; the occupancy is limited to a handful & a half or so of booths & grill-adjacent, counter seating (around 10 stools or something). Still worth the effort!
We go to German village coffee shop everyday it's the best breakfast in Columbus we even got our German village coffee shop t shirts a few days ago whenever we go in everyone is so nice I can really say they're like family there
Our neighbors told us we needed to try this place, and we're sure glad we did! Great pancakes and omelettes. It's small, so don't go with a group, but the staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is very inviting of all.
Average diner style restaurant. Food is good and priced fairly. The space is very small, so chefs preparing the foods have limited space which may cause them to place food and plates in unconventional areas that may not be satisfactory to some guest. Overall if you are looking for a no frills diner experience, with fair pricing this is the place to go.
This place is pretty special: VERY inexpensive, good quality food and coffee, coffee comes quick and hot, service is on point, sometimes there’s a wait on the weekends but it’s well worth it. Massive breakfast for 2 will cost you $20 or less with tip!!!!
Best breakfast place so far. Happened across this little greasy spoon accidentally but now it's our go-to breakfast place. Simple menu, great service and amazing prices. The pancakes are my favorite, I've considered asking for their recipes because our homemade ones never turn out so good. Each month they have a different special flavor, November was Pumpkin (amazing) and December was Gingerbread. The gingerbread pancake was so good, decently gingery and must have had a good amount of molasses in there too. And their bacon is the best. Nice thick cuts, not too crispy but not those soggy strips you get at other places. My wife swears by their western omelette.
I love restaurants that have great prices and lots of character. I really like the condiment center which is located at each table. It really saves a lot of time waiting for the server to bring you something. Pancakes (blueberry) are excellent. Eggs and toast were nothing special. Coffee was bitter so I would not order that again. Staff was friendly and happy and there was a community atmosphere there.
Favorite breakfast in Columbus, amazing prices too
I'm from Boise idaho and come to Columbus for work every few years and always make a point to come to this old fashioned diner. The food is great and the prices are amazingly low. Its truly a neighborhood diner, everyone knows everyone's name.
The best places in Columbus to start your day. So authentic and with such a great menu. Sad that I discovered it by the end of my trip. Can I pack the whole coffeeshop and take with me to Portland?
What can I say! But Job& Food well done
BREAKFAST MAGNIFICO!! When you walk in you are greeted with a smile, the server is more the eager to seat you and just friendly the whole time you're there. I ordered 3 pancakes of which they have 3 kind to choose from, plain, blueberry and chocolate chip. I chose plain. The bacon is thick the way I like it and juicy. Overall a great experience, oh by the way, I am a huge fan of the hubcap like pancakes those are my favorite. Not bad for a little dive and I love a good home grown dive. This should be your next breakfast stop Columbus if it hasn't been already.
Take your time & eat here.
Fun small diner, great service, breakfast and good prices.
Wonderful friendly service combined with great dinner style food you really can't beat the coffee shop. Also great pricing.
Man, this sucks - this was our great go-to spot for breakfast. This morning we went around 9:20 AM - there was a wait but not too bad, a lot of people coming in after us though. We got seated about 9:45. Again, not a big deal. We ordered immediately since we usually know exactly what we're getting, got our waters, and then... nothing. By the time 10:30 rolled around I flagged down the waitress - all we got was a hot cake and some french toast - to see if we could take our order to go. The waitress went to double check and came back sheepishly to admit that they hadn't even started on our order yet. I had to split to get to a meeting at work, but I wasted over an hour and a half here this morning for two glasses of water and not even an apology on our way out the door. We won't be back.
Best breakfast in Cbus, by far. Pancakes are perfect. Staff is lovely.
My husband and I love this place! Food is hearty and served hot and the staff is friendly, hard working, and patient (my 2 yr old isn't always a quiet, good tempered patron lol). Seating is usually readily available, although if you go during lunch there will be a wait. Parking is difficult as there are limited spaces directly in front so be prepared to walk a block. Prices are VERY reasonable and encourage us to order breakfast AND lunch in the same sitting, till we are bursting at the seams (which is fine because we can walk it off while trekking back to the car a block away). Their pancakes (off menu or special of the day) are basically the size of vinyls and are always delicious. Only slight drawback to this place is that they're only open til 3pm, so plan early! We prefer this place over Thurman's Cafe any day.
Best bacon ever! They kept the coffee following and the French toast looked amazing. I'll be back when I'm back in Columbus OH
Local friendly place with good food and great prices. One of our favorite breakfast places.
**Hidden gem, best coffee shop in Columbus! Great service, great food, generous portions, great value, nice staff! A very homey place!**
Too busy place, be prepared to wait for being seated! Food tastes great...
This was my first visit to this place...what I can tell you is get there as early as possible because there will be a wait, which is a good sign but it took about 45 minutes to get in the door. The food was ok...that blueberry pancake was one of the best that I've had but I guess by us sitting right in front we were able to watch the cooks is the reason why there getting 3 stars one cook only had one glove on handling the toast with the un- gloved hand...I also seen one of the cooks sweep something off a plate with his hands and then plate someone's food I work in healthcare so this is very disturbing to me...but if that doesn't bother you...you should give this place a try because the food isn't bad at all.
Great prices and friendly staff, but a long wait (both outside and at the table).
Excellent service
Great food!
A Columbus classic. Cheap and delicious diner fare. You can get away with a five dollar meal that will leave you full through lunch. The staff makes it feel like a real family affair.
Not only do the prices deserve a 5 star rating, but so does the food! I have been there for both breakfast and lunch and loved my meals on both occasions. Their homemade tomato soup was SO good! When seating is unavailable I’ve never had to wait too long. They do a good job getting the food done fast, I’m return making things flow nice and efficiently.
Great breakfast spot!
It has a really cozy atmosphere. The staff are friendly and check often to make sure you are happy. The food is delicious! The coffee is awesome. Sometimes you have to wait a little bit for a booth or a seat at the counter. It's worth the wait and the cook gets the food out fast.
Visited for the first time with a friend here for lunch and it was yummy!! A quaint little place that has character with good food (veggie omlet with swiss and hash browns was my pick) and reasonable prices. A great downtown breakfast or lunch stop.
Great little diner. Best breakfast and lunch around.
One of my most favorite places to hangout in German Village and Columbus. Pretty much has become an every weekend/weekday haunt when we can place, that I have been coming to for YEARS now! A very relaxing down to earth old school diner with great breakfast as well as other menu favorites such as burgers, sandwiches, and fries/onion rings. They get produce/meats locally from other businesses as much as possible including the thick cut bacon that is hard to turn down! Even though the food is great and they still keep the prices lower to reflect the diner menu; you'll never be disappointed with their portions sizes including their plate size pancakes. They also do a rotation of specialty flavor pancakes monthly or you can order one you customize yourself. They have great soups too but only available on weekdays unfortunately. You'll keep coming back, if not for the food...it'll be for the atmosphere and the staff who are always amazing. It's not a fancy restaurant but you won't care. It's a locals spot and they'll treat you like one of their own. Not big on space but big on heart. And yes there tends to be a wait when you come to eat here and there's a reason. You'll meet the best people both staff and patrons; have great conversation and make friends. These people are like family, I love 'em! ♡♡♡
Easily my favorite breakfast place in Columbus. I am here almost every Sunday morning. There's usually a little bit of a wait, but this small diner has fantastic food, and the staff is extremely friendly. The prices are also come of the best in town. $2.75 for 2 eggs and 2 pieces of toast! And I really enjoy the small "mom and pop" feel of the place.
Friendly people and great food. Love going there.
I’ve never been so underwhelmed by a meal in my life. The wait was very long and not at all worth it. It is cheap though.
This is the place for breakfast. Good, home style diner with prices to match. The service is always on, even when they are slammed (which is basically every weekend.) If you're coming here on a weekend for brunch, plan to wait 45 minutes. It's totally worth it though!
Classic diner atmosphere. Friendly staff that always keeps your coffee warm. The bacon is amazing.
Had breakfast here today. The food was amazing and the price was great. Only thing I was not impressed with was the lady that served us. I had to wait for a coffee refill several times as she debated her customers on her political views and bashed our President. Needless to say It kind of upset me while trying to enjoy my breakfast with my family. Not acceptable.
Great food and atmosphere. We visit often.
Great food amazing staff & a very welcoming atmosphere. The prices are phenomenal. If I could eat here everyday I certainly would!
Enter at your own risk! Just saw a SWAT raid happen here. Not sure whats going on with this place.
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Food was good value and excellent vibe to the place.
Always a great experience. Nice quaint little restaurant. Nothing fancy about it. Had pineapple upside down cake pancakes which were very good. And also had an omelet with hash browns also very good.
Great food and friendly atmosphere.
This is among the best little breakfast places I've ever found. Set up like a cute old fashioned diner with fantastic food. The pancakes are huge and full of flavor! Breakfast sandwiches here are hearty and delicious. The coffe was perfect as it should be when coffee is in the business name. Our waitress was fantastic as well.
Super nice people. Loved the food but the onion rings were not that great. But that's my problem lol
Spectacular service, always friendly. Gave my friend and I a free pancake because we were talking about how good it looked.
Aunt works here and she's great food here is good
Very simple place. Good food. Great prices. Small diner atmosphere. You need to get there early!
Looooovvveeeee the plate size white chocolate chip pancake and the double grilled cheese with fries! Great little place, amazingly low prices, super friendly and personable staff! Wish it was alittle bigger
We got there right before they opened. A crowd of people went into the small diner. I thought it would take forever to eat and get out. However, we ate one of the best meals we've ever had, never had empty coffee cups, and were paying our check thirty minutes later. This place is a well oiled machine that serves up some of the best breakfast foods you'll ever eat. And it isn't expensive either!
This place is awesome. I grew up in New York and recently moved to Columbus and when I'm missing NY, man this place feels like home. The food is great and the service is amazing. I have never in my 30+ years on this Earth had better bacon in a restaurant. Same goes for the sausage. Then we get to the omlettes which are not fancy or crazy with over indulgent toppings but they are the best! Not in the mood for eggs? Don't worry, the pancakes are to die for. It doesn't matter how you like them; plain, chocolate chip, blueberry, strawberry, or the famous pancake of the month, they have it figured out and they are all awesome. Coffee is damned good too. Then we get to the service which is awesome. Ive only been here about half a dozen times and they already remember what I order! This place has such a hometown vibe it's almost like an episode of cheers whenever I visit. I love it and can not recommend it enough. Sometimes you may need to be patient for a seat but it is worth the wait. Best breakfast in Columbus!!!!!!!!
Food=wonderful! Staff=friendly and attentive. Such a great small neighborhood place to grab a great simple and delicious bite to eat.
Food is crazy good
It’s a cozy family style breakfast place. On weekend you might have to wait for a seat cause there will be a lot of people coming in. The waiter was really friendly and the cashier was really nice too. I personally think the price is on the cheaper site. Don’t expect crazy delicious food like from first watch :) If you would come here to grab breakfast, I would suggest the western omelette (there’s a pic of it here I’ll attach it). Overall was a decent place to visit. Enjoy !
Food is delicious! And great customer service. Had a nice experience. Will come again
Great western omelet with a side of hash browns and exceptional bacon. Fast coffee refills and good service. Definitely recommend. Will be back.
Cheap...doesn't always mean bad. I had the best BLT I ever had, and a pancake as big as my plate. delicious!
French toast sampler and monte crisco yummy! The best bloody Mary I have ever had!!! Everything is fresh and all there bread is home made.
Favorite breakfast spot, come early tho
Always a great place to grab some brunch or lunch. If you like the hometown vibe and small diner feel, then this place is for you.
Never disappoints.. great bacon, eggs and hot coffee!! We love this place!!
Wonderful *LITTLE* place for breakfast. Get there early and expect a wait. I would not recommend a party larger than 5-6 people. It is an extremely tight fit. But the breakfast there is quite yummy!
Don't come and crowd up my favorite breakfast place. Their bacon is awesome!
Great pancakes! Best western omlette. Awesome value. Super staff.
Love ❤️ this place ... best secret in Columbus. Good just like grandma made.
Easily my favorite diner in the city. I love it so much I go there on my birthday every year. Pancakes and bacon are incredible. Don't skip this hole in the wall.
Great place to visit, the best pancakes
Service was a bit delayed. The bacon was more like pork jerky. But the service was smiley and the egg nog french toast was pretty good. Not quite the GVCS I used to know.
Definitely geared toward regulars, but the food was good. The atmosphere is old school diner. I like that. Service wasn't the most attentive, but adequate.
Delicious yet cheap, best breakfast spot in German Village! Get there early!
Small place. Fast service. Small menu. Cheap good food
Cheap, hearty meals with just enough grime. A true "hole in the wall" location.
Best brunch in town.
Best food for the price, quaint setting
This is an economical and decent breakfast spot that has the feel of an old neighborhood staple. It's not going to be the best food you've ever had, but it's very reasonably priced and staffed by an eclectic group.
Confusing name which lead me here because I was trying to avoid going to Starbucks (years ago). This is a diner as most besides me already knew. It serves minimal coffee items. I was looking for a house coffee chock full of espresso and they were more like "we got biscuits and gravy" and I was all like "gravy isn't coffee" and they were like "what?". Still good gravy though. FIVE STARS!!!
Appears to be very popular with the locals who braved bone chilling winter conditions to walk in for breakfast around 7 a.m. The staff were very friendly and hospitable. The food was served promptly when prepared and the prices very reasonable. When I make my way back to Colunbus, I will definitely return.
Very neat little place. our breakfast was good and folks were friendly
We stopped by German Village Coffee Shop after participating in the BuckeyeThon 2019 24 hour dance marathon at The Ohio State University. After being on our feet all night, the coffee was incredible. The staff was also extremely friendly (they remembered us from the year before) and the food was delicious! We will definitely be back!
Best place in 50 states to have breakfast, and I have eaten every where!!
Awesome little diner. Highly recommend this if you get the chance. Great service and everyone treats you like family. Portions are large and pancakes are the size of the plate!
Good food at a below average price.
Great breakfast spot!
Where to start? The food is amazing! Very friendly atmosphere. Very cozy. If i had try and find a downside, it would be that sometimes there can be a slight wait to be seated. But thats to be expected when you’re doing great business like they are. 5 stars!
You will definitely have to wait for a table at this quaint little coffee shop, but it's worth the wait. They cook your food right on the grill in front of you, the smell is amazing, and it tastes as good as it smells. Their coffee is amazing as well.
Cheap prices not typically seen in German/Merion Village! Amazing diner style food with very friendly and down to earth staff!
Nice atmosphere. I'm glad I decided to go
This place was close to our AirBnB this weekend and it had great reviews. Best bacon I’ve ever had. Pancake of the month was cinnamon roll and it was to die for. My western omelette and hashbrowns were delightful as well. Service was exceptional. Will definitely be back.
Best traditional breakfast in downtown area! Great and friendly staff too. Ask for the flat-extra crispy bacon!
I've been coming here with my parents since I was 4, I still come here by myself even though I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, that's how good it is. The people are always nice and it's got a homey feel to it.
My favorite place in Columbus. I have been coming here for years, and I always try to visit at least once a month so that I can try every monthly pancake. Everything is delicious and the staff is super accommodating. Best bacon in Columbus!
One of my favorite places to eat in Columbus for breakfast and lunch, only wish they were open late night! Their club sandwich is my favorite around, and they source the bacon locally (which is incredible). Burgers are great, and their daily lunch specials are always tasty and interesting. Friendly service, great prices, and good selection. Breakfast has the basics you'd expect from a diner, but I love the western omelette.
Great prices and great homemade style food. I leave full with plenty of money still in my pocket.
Our go to breakfast place. A dump and all the better for it. An old school proper diner
Great breakfast spot. Good prices. Great thick cut Bacon. Extra crispy in the picture. Western omelet with jalepenos as well.
A great place to eat cheap. Good food as well.
Always our fav when in Columbus. Love this place!
When you want to go out and get a simple, traditional breakfast, this is the place!
The breakfast was really good. A very nice host
Other reviews claim this place reminds them of old diners in NYC and other East Coast cities. If that is true, remind me to not visit diners out east. There's character and then there is worn-out. This place is the latter. And when a cockroach ran across the bench of my breakfast companion... 'nuff said.
If you want a home style cooked meal then this is the place. Mom and Pop food, comfort food. Best greasy spoon around.
Great food. Chefs know what they are doing. Generous bacon - thick cut and good size. Popular place it is. Just need patience for your meal to show up. Very reasonably priced.
By far the best bang-for-buck breakfast in Columbus! The bacon is thick and the hash browns are perfect! It’s my favorite place to stop into for a traditional breakfast, and my girlfriend always orders their specialty pancakes. Go early because this place gets busy fast and you may have to wait for a table if you arrive after 9am.
Good food; very reasonable. Definitely recommend.
Hands down the best food and service!
Great little breakfast joint, but very small. Prepare to wait..
The pancakes are amazing. So is the bacon.
Had breakfast here a couple days ago. SERVICE was ok .Omelette was delicious and fluffy ..my hash browns tasted burnt ,I was slightly dissatisfied sorry but Iam big on Hash browns. Prices are very decent .I would return to try out other things on the menu for sure.if the hash browns didn't taste burnt I would have rated this place a 4 star.
Great food and friendly staff!
Excellent eats! Omlettes are huge and so filling, side of rye toast and I'm in heaven. Coffee is great. Sir at the bar for faster service but be advised, you'll get warm if seated right in front of the grill.
GREAT price's.
Great food, cheap prices, feels like a classic dinner
This place is such a great example of a breakfast diner that it could be in the movies, right down to the ads on the placemats. The food is very good and the service is friendly and quick. Definitely try the hashbrowns with cheese and grilled onions.
The atmosphere is very cozy and charming. The staff is very friendly and attentive. There is usually a wait on Sunday morning, but the wait is absolutely worth it. The food is great, the coffee is even better. This coffee shop is an absolute gem.
Great breakfast, pancakes were MASSIVE and delicious.
Food was good as it always is but my service was very slow. I waited a long time to be acknowledged and my coffee sat empty most of my 45 minutes there. I could tell regulars were served ahead of me. My food took so long I packed it to go but even then waited ten minutes for a to go container. I was very disappointed.
Such a great cozy place! Food was made with so much love. The waitress was attentive and so kind!
Love the atmosphere, food is delicious and comes quickly, staff is friendly and helpful. It is just a simple breakfast diner, but definitely a German Village staple. Brought my boyfriend here the weekend before last and he loved it so much that he asked if we could go back the following weekend. Make sure to come early on the weekend as it can get pretty busy.
The best breakfast place in Columbus!!!
Great place, food, and people.
8 years living in this city and I can't belive I only recently discovered this gem of a place. No frills, locally-owned helluva place for some good ol' classic breakfast/brunch/comfort food on a weekend. Great food at extremely great prices and amazingly friendly service. Pancakes are huge, hashbrowns are delicious, and eggs cooked to perfection. Food served hot, delicious, cheap, and with a smile - there's nothing else better than that! I highly recommend them and I will definitely be back.
We have been going here for years, recommend the omelette and the thick Krispy bacon and coffee is good bold and strong, how favorite breakfast in Columbus, get there early tho, small place.
Great food and service worth the wait!!
Food was fantastic. I had a roasted vegetable ravioli that I would happily get again.
Great old diner. Never disappointed in the food. Highly recommended.
Once again i have to praise this place. The waitress knew my name on my second visit. Prices are great and very hip vibe. Beautiful neighborhood as well.
We eat here whenever possible..!! GREAT food..old school ambience.. Great service!! And an extremely fair price...
