A great local coffee spot. Friendly folks even know to hold a cell phone for you if you got to go to the courthouse. (Leave them in the car, no phones allowed in court) ......back on point here, Cold Brew on tap ! Tasty treats and assorted items as well. Highly recommend you stop in. Nice break from Starbucks. As Australians travelling in the US for six weeks, finding a cappaccino as good as we have back in Melbourne Australia is a rarity. This wasn't the case at Mean Mug Coffee Company Salisbury. We struck it lucky when Dave House made us a cappaccino. We were happy to tell him that it is almost identical to our cappaccino back in Australia and the only difference is that we sprinkle coco powder over the top of our cappaccinos. Dave even offered to sprinkle coco over the coffee for us. Great customer service. If any Aussies are travelling in the area be sure to go in and see if Dave can make you an Aussie style cappaccino with coco sprinkled in top. Thanks Dave.

Had a delicious yet simple ham, egg and cheese everything bagel. Each bite lead me to the next. The barista was very nice and friendly. They had some internet issues early but nothing that couldn't be fixed. The house coffee was smooth and tasteful. I'm only visiting friends in the area but Im pretty sure I found my coffee and small breakfast area. Oh! You can come here for beer and wine.... It's kinda like they don't want you to leave... Ever!

I've had the meanest BLT here before and it was great. I've had their bagels and their strawberry shortcake muffins - yum! They had a $1 hot dog bar at 2pm today. I got a hot caramel macchiato (many flavors to choose, like gingerbread!) and my daughter got a vanilla frap with a slice of the most delicious carrot cake around. Wonderful place, friendly people, and the atmosphere is great. There's always something to look at on the walls. :-) There's also an activity schedule, like live bands on one night, karaoke every 2nd Sat or something, etc.

Taking a random drive can often lead to new places. That's exactly how I ended up at Mean Mug Coffee and I'm glad I did. Relaxing atmosphere, pleasant customer service, and a great tasting 20 oz Mocha (with an extra shot of course). This place offers an inviting and comfortable place to enjoy your coffee whether you're working on a school project, taking time to read, or enjoying the company of old and new friends. Do yourself a favor and make the trip to Mean Mug. Don't let the name fool ya, there's nothing mean about this place.

I love coffee shops that are locally owned and try and support them but they took forever to make 2 coffees and it was so strong I'm pretty sure I could have used it to strip paint. Shame because the location and the store itself is cool.

Absolutely amazing. I felt right at home the moment I walked in. My friends and I are from out of town and found this little shop on a detour. The workers we so welcoming and helpful with recommendations. I would highly recommend the matcha green and caramel macchiato.

Love this little spot, right in the middle of everything so when we take our son to walk around salisbury its easy to stop in. Theyre kid friendly too, not alot of options for drinks for kids, but mine always goes for the cake and cool chairs. They take great care in making their drinks, and are always happy to give suggestions. Ive not been in there yet and had anyone be rude or impatient either. All in all if you like coffe, youll like this place.

Very relaxing atmosphere. Great coffee from Magnolia Coffee (out of Charlotte). Barista was exceptionally friendly gentleman. Sit out front on the street and watch the town.

Not only do they have a wonderful menu, but they have so many cool events going on! There’s always something to do which is nice in a small town like Salisbury where you can easily get bored. Mean Mug cures that boredom bug! Open Mic night is my favorite. There’s nothing more heart warming than watching the local community come together like a family every Friday. They are so welcoming to new performers and they support the ones that come every week as if it’s their first time. Thank you Mean Mug for giving me a home away from home! P.S. They don't follow health codes for preparing food or food storage. When they first started serving sandwiches they didn't have a permit from the health department to do so. I don't know if they even obtained one to continue serving "lunches." They don't wear gloves when preparing meals. They cook RAW chicken and salmon on a George Forman grill in the back and don't check temp before serving. They don't label food products with dates. Their back area is filthy. They get ALL the food products from Aldi and then charge astronomical prices for the rubbish. They don't clean daily or nightly like they should. They don't clean their espresso machine or coffee urns nightly. The ice maker has black mold in it and they use that ice for all iced, and blended drinks. They don't practice proper dish washing. They don't wear gloves when preparing food, or the pastries they plate for the display case from Aldi. This place shouldn't be in business. EVERYTHING I HAVE SAID HERE IS ABSOLUTE FACT AND YOU KNOW IT, EVELYN. The Health rating and having a license obtained by the department of health to serve "cooked" food are not the same thing. You were required by the health department to make a ton of changes before you started serving sandwhiches again. You "let me go"(you said I quit) because you thought I called the Health Department. That was retaliation and illegal by definition of the law. I was trying to help you get up to code before the Health department showed up but your "good friend" Louis said you guys didn't have to get a different license to serve cooked food and didn't need to follow the same rules as all the other restaurants in town( which was completely wrong) I corrected you on that and you were also corrected the health department on that. . They asked you to stop serving sandwhiches until you obtained to proper permits and when he left you still continued to serve the food he asked you to stop serving. Your fridges and coolers were not Health Department standard, you stored food improperly, etc.. you were given a list of things to correct. I want people to know that you are not an honest business owner and the community needs to be aware of the type of business you run and the type of owner you are. Don't get upset with me because I decided to tell the utmost and absolute truth. That in itself is the definition of Karma coming back around for you. I hope you find peace running a dishonest business and being a fake person. Good day.

I am fairly new to this area. I started hosting open mic monthly here this past June, and I come almost every week since I found it in May. The talent and supportive atmosphere is amazing, one of my favorite open mic experiences I’ve personally ever participated in! As disabled veteran, they are so very accommodating for me to the extent I even wrote a song in Nashville inspired by all the caring friends I have made here. Although it attracts all skill levels like open mics ‘should’ do, the majority of regulars attendees are local professional singer/musicians with a diverse range of genres and ages. We use these open mics to share our songs for each other, and often with each other. It’s also a child friendly atmosphere, for our youngest performer is a ten year old little girl on her guitar and singing. So please come hang out with what ever genre you enjoy to play, or come support Salisbury’s local talent! Especially come support the Mean Mug for all they do for the disabled and musical community in general! Great coffee and food served with kindness! They were interviewed by the local tv station for employing people with disabilities, there is no kinder heart than that.

I love my teas and this coffee shop has this Hibuscus Tea that is to die for....more on the authentic side not like Starbucks. Everything here is culturally based which i can appreciate. The place is clean and cool with friendly staff. I got a hot Chai Latte, and it was just right! I also came to see if they made the hot cocoa or if it was made from a bag, and they confirmed it was the latter. I didn't ask which brand, though. Prices are what I'd expect from a coffee cafe.
