Great small town coffee place with a nice quiet atmosphere. It can get pretty hot in there in the summer though.

Ever since Pete (the owner of the building) took over from Anthony (owner of the Clean Plate), I have seen the quality steadily decline. The new staff are...interesting. Call me a curmudgeon, but I like my coffee shops quiet, and my barristas friendly but not overly talkative. Every time I've come in, I'm either getting glowered out by the washed-up hippie looking one, or having to suffer through the preppy one's and the housewife's endless stream of inanity. The housewife is literally talking to herself right now. Earlier she was chit-chatting on her phone behind the counter. Also, what happened to the music? There's only been background music a handful of times I've come in. There's nothing worse than walking into an empty, silent store. It feels dead in here. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy the coffee and the cozy atmosphere. But I've been coming here for years and it used to be so much nicer! This cafe is easily the best in Hunterdon County. I've been coming here for years and the environment, atmosphere, coffee, and staff are warm and welcoming. It has a home-y feel with the two fireplaces on during the colder months, and outside seating by the river during the warmer months. When it's quiet, it's a great place to get work done. When it's busy, you can catch a great conversation with local Clintonites. All the drinks are organic and they have a wide variety selection of teas! The baristas are the best! They are friendly and each one brings something different to the shop (most of them are college students.) While some may view the friendliness as overwhelming, myself along with the majority of the customers love chatting and getting to know them. Overall, it's definitely the best coffee place in the town of Clinton! A must try for people driving through, or for the locals.

I love this place for its relaxed atmosphere, waterside seating, and wide tea selection. I particularly love their matcha and earl grey lattes! Unfortunately the last three times I've visited they have tasted like hot milk, no tea flavoring at all. Dissapointing for an otherwise fantastic place.

Amy Dahl

Cozy little coffee shop in a charming town. Great for a nice little stop that's crazy full of character. Even a working fireplace!

Jeanne Saad

This place is one of my favorite coffee spots. They have amazing drip coffee as well as a variety of espresso drinks. They also have a wide selection of teas. My personal favorite is either the cherry blossom tea or the dragon green tea. Over all it is a cheap coffee place great for relaxing while getting some work done or gazing at the fall no more the 300 feet away.

Joe Mautone

"Best coffee in town." Organic too. I get a double espresso every time.

Great coffee, a nice variety of teas, and a tasty pastry selection as well. I dig the chill atmosphere that's really nice for sitting and doing work. Plus, there are friendly people behind the counter, which is always a plus. Highly recommend.

The place is a very nice vintage building with lots of atmosphere of days past. Nice selection of coffees, teas and pastries. Just don'took to closely at your surroundings as the place & windows need a good cleaning. Vintage does not mean dirty.

Eitan Lvovski

This coffee shop is amazing! Greta location and awesome service. We stop at a different coffee shops every day and were impressed with the service here! The baristo was a great gentlemen and helped us immensely.

Galyna Shulimova

Coffee is good, service is ok, the outside sits have a beautiful view of the river.

Heather Strasser

I love the quiet atmosphere of this place, that they have board games and a fireplace going in the winter. In the summer they have shaded outdoor seating by the river. They also have free WiFi and it's the perfect place to sit and read a book while enjoying some tea or coffee. The CD and hot tea here is very good. My favorite is the chai latte or the lavender honey.

Priscilla Brown

Excellent service...great coffee lots of selection..fresh pastries

Diane Blajsa

Love this place! Drive about half hour to get here, usually our Sunday morning treat. Opens early! Love sitiing riverside in warmer weather. Very quaint. Equally happy in the winter with a fireplace in each room. People relaxing, others working. Good mix of locals and visitors. Love it!

Christopher Parker

Friendly service and a great atmosphere. I just stumbled onto this place on a drive but very glad I made the stop.

Visiting for the holidays, I'm a former resident of Hunterdon County. I appreciate small town and antique vibes. I really wanted to like this place more. The staff was young and moderately friendly but not knowledgeable. Disappointing coffee. Tea selection solid. Overly sugared pastries. Purchased the cinnamon bun (served microwaved, icing to flavor ratio wildly excessive). Also tried the chocolate dipped macaroon, which had way too much dough and was not light or textured. The clientele skewed young (teens and very early twenties). Perhaps due to holiday week? If this is the normal clientele, I would avoid the shop due to a seeming lack of small-space (respectful) sharing awareness. For instance 6 people not ordering anything and sitting on phones at one of only a handful of total tables.

Osama Qazi

Nice place. Good coffee. Desert so so.

Sean Kochhar

Great location and setup, they offer a wide variety of tea and coffee to suit your needs.

Aestheticly pleasing restaurant with a very homey vibe. Might be a good summer destination food and friendship. Thoroughly disappointed with the bubble tea though, it was very bland and felt like I was drinking water.

I come here only for their bubble tea! They always taste great, but it does seem like they could put their “bubbles” in sugar a bit to make them a little sweeter. Nonetheless, always happy with what I get and staff is so nice!

Jeremy H

A cozy cafe-like establishment by the river. They have great sandwiches and scones. They also serve Bubble Tea, although they usually stop after 7:00 so the bubbles aren’t stale by the next day (so don’t yell at them if you show up late)

One day I went to buy 2 bottles of water for the kids I am taking care of. Unfortunately, I didn't carry enough cash and I didn't have my card with me. Luckily, the owners were really nice and so generous, they gave away us almost a cost of one bottle of water. This is a real professional-friendly costumer service!!!! From that day, I keep coming back to this coffee shop and I have never gotten any bad experience. Drinks are wonderful. The service is cozy but yet professional. Love love love this coffee shop!
