A group of friends met here for dinner before an event downtown. We ordered a couple dozen tamales (variety) and pitchers of margaritas. The tamales were very tasty, and so were the margaritas. Staff were attentive and helpful. Great time! We have been back a couple of times, and the staff, tamales, and margaritas have been just as good as the first time.

The queso fundido was huge and absolutely fantastic! I had a cheese tamale as well. Also huge! Take home a doggy bag! I recommend this restaurant without reservation. There's a full bar if you want a drink. Try this lovely authentic Mexican restaurant and you'll walk away satisfied!

Attended a previously reserved wedding event there, although event had been reserved with enough time the staff had not prepped the seating area. The restaurant kept seating other customers in the same area. The service was poor and the food was a grade c in value as well as quality. Do Not Organize Events Here! Management Does Not Make A Difference in Regards to Previously Reserved Events and any walk ins...Extremely Dissapointed!

The place is very clean, and reminds me a lot of my childhood growing up with the decor. The staff was amazing and very polite, the food however was just okay. I ordered a taco/burrito combo, the meat in the taco was very dry but had good flavor, and the meat in the burrito was overcooked and had some pretty crunchy chunks. I will definitely give them another try, and will update when I do so.

I really enjoyed the pozole and shredded chicken tamales, they were really good. The reason I just gave 3 stars is the bathroom ( not so clean) and seating booths are too low for the height of the table. Other wise 5 stars.

For Las Vegas, it's good Mexican food. Not great, but good. The salsa/sauce is only 3 stars. The service was excellent. We enjoyed looking at all the old promotional boxing posters and fight cards.

Family owned and operated since before i was born. 1 of the oldest mexican resturants in town. I love coming here. The ambiance and decor is nice , good quality food, their margaritas are very tasty and id say strong ( which is good! Dont forget to tip!) Servers are always pleasant. They do delivery through postmates, take out and dine in.

They're famous for their tamales for a good reason. I got beef and pork but I'm sad I didn't get chicken. I tried my friend's chicken and it was my favorite. Service was awesome, wait time was non existent. Everything was super tasty and flavorful. Would go back every day if we had the money.

Dona Maria Tamales is definitely a five star restaurant for several reasons. It is a family business and has been established for over 25years. You will definitely not leave hungry from this restaurant. Not only are the portions large, but they also gave us free nachos with dips. When we finished the free big sharing starter they refilled it again. They also refilled the sodas for free. The food is home-made style and extremely delicious. The waiters and waitresses are extremely friendly. We tried a cactus tacos apart from several other dishes and beforehand the waitress took lengths into explaining us every dish and their flavours. I would definitely get out of central Vegas to go eat there. Great quality and also quantity. Winner winner.

Our first visit to this place. It says it’s been here at this location since 1980 and I believe it because it is very dated to that time in history. We went on a Friday night and got right in and were quickly served by a very friendly staff. The food was authentic Mexican and came out hot. We both enjoyed our dinner at this place! Go and check it out!

Went there for lunch. Chips are good. Salsa is ok. I had an enchilada and taco. Enchilada was tasty. Not so much on the chicken taco. Plus, didn't expect to get charged $3.50 for a tiny bowl of pico. Next time I would have something else.

Will have to give them a second try. I ordered the steak nacho fries... didn't really taste the home made jalapeno cheese sauce. The plate had a lot on it but it seemed to be all 1 note. The wife had the chicken enchiladas...really good! We loved the salsa for the chips just the right amount of spice.

I ordered veggie fajitas and it had cauliflower and broccoli - not at all authentic Mexican cuisine. The others in my group were also disappointed in their food. The salsa tasted like it was from a jar, and the food was overall bland. I ordered a dessert tamale and they never brought it after asking repeatedly.

I feel like I'm in a homeless shelter...... these people are off the streets and very suspicious looking. Not my strongest suite.... the salsa was AWEFUL...like tomato sauce with cayenne pepper (or similar) no garlic, cilantro, or chunks of anything.. was going to just leave but decided to have an appetizer, shredded beef taquitos and flautas.. they were ok, the meat was tender and not stringy tough, no real flavor though .. $10 for 3 was overpriced.. staff was nice

Try this place for the award winning tamales! Savory and filling. Try them all or order the sweet desert tamale to finish off your meal! Or you can take some home? Yeah! Now that's a great idea! They have a full bar and plenty of brightly painted murals adorning the walls! And if you're not sure what to try, watch to see what the locals order! After church on Sunday morning they pack the place yet there never seems to be a wait?! Trust me, they know what they're doing here, I guess that's why they have been a fixture in old downtown! Check them out and see for yourself!

I like great service and with prices that avg at $20 a plate I don't want to feel awkward like my money is not respected. That's how I felt when I have been sitting waiting for the waiter for about 15 minutes another party walks in sit down at the table a different skin color and they get their drinks their water and their order taken before me I just felt some type of way don't like to feel like my money is not respected so I walked out that was just my experience hope you have a better one the food is great but don't treat me like I have to get in the back of the bus this is not the 1960s and I will not stand for any type of slight racially Injustice.

A beautiful restaurant in the middle of a not so desirable part of the strip. But don't judge a book by its cover here people! Came here for breakfast before my flight home and enjoyed a variety of house specialties, ordered both their chicken and their pork tamales, the chile rellenos platter and made to order vanilla custard filled churros. The pork tamale was a bit dry and flavorless whereas the chicken variety was really wonderful and seasoned perfectly. So perfect that I had them pack up 3 more for my long plane ride back to the east coast! Vanessa my waitress was even so nice to take each of the Tamales out of their husk wrapping and gently placed them in a sealed foil wrapping before putting them in their styrofoam to go container so I wouldn't have any leakage issues. The Chile rellenos platter was so delicious and filling, I could not stop eating it. A large poblano pepper stuffed with cheese then topped with more cheese, who can say no to that kind of deliciousness! They offer the usual plain Cinnamin sugar dusted churros and then they also offer one that is filled with rich sweet vanilla crème. A beautiful light golden fried piece of stretched dough, it was the perfect way to end my successful Vegas business trip. I'm really excited to get back there in my next visit and try the rest of their menu!
