REVIEWS OF Tumbleweed Bookstore & Cafe IN Montana

Deborah Johnson

Got rained out of our campsite down the road, came to Tumbleweed cafe to get some coffee and stayed awhile. Super cozy atmosphere, comfortable seating indoor and out, friendly service, fresh tasty homemade sandwiches/panini,cinnamon rolls, and coffee. Plenty of interesting books, games etc. Very homey☕

Ashley O'Toole

Love this place! It was rainy and cold, so we stopped in here to get on our laptops and sip some hot chocolate. It was a great experience and very comfortable/homey

Amber K Anderson

Cute little place with great outdoor seating. Not a book store, nothing the visitor center doesn't have at least. Cheap iced coffee, not as cheap lattes. Hummus on bagels if you ask. If your drink doesn't taste right, stir it, they may have forgotten to and all the flavor is on the bottom. Please give your chickens more space Tumbleweed.

Charlie Vincent

Delicious sammys and great atmosphere, weefee, kindly pretty women as servers as well

Eclectic mix of books and smallish menu on Highway 89 in the center of Gardiner. I would say their prices are on the high side, but perhaps not for Gardiner. The atmosphere was nice -relaxed, quiet, and accommodating, and the service was cheerful, if a tad slow.

Wonderful service, friendly staff, great prices. I was stuck here while my car was being fixed and they let me sit inside and hang out for the 7 hours it took to be fixed, and seemed sympathetic to my plight of veing stuck in town.

Best breakfast before you enter Yellowstone park 's North Entrance

Angela Chen

Inexpensive, pretty good food. I had a good panini that was really cheap but it did not come with any sides (like chips or fries). Free WiFi. Bathroom is hard to access, but just ask.

Un très bon point d'arrêt pour prendre son petit déjeuner avant d'aller se balader dans le parc du Yellowstone. Choix varié de petits déjeuners copieux et pas trop gras

Kayla Berry

Coffee was good but the breakfast was lacking. Ordered the breakfast sandwhich on asiago bagel with spinah egg ham cheese and roasted red peppers. Peppers were straight from the fridge and were cold. Not totally appetizing.

Less than amazing service. The lady at the front was nice enough but I could clearly hear employees talking about customers.

Eliz Reese

Wonderful and friendly staff, delicious coffee (they have ice cubes made of coffee for iced coffee!!) and great prices. Not so much a bookstore (not a very big selection if you're looking for something in particular) but it's a really great place to hang out and get some work done.

Nice and cozy place near Yellowstone park. Had sandwich and hot chocolate. Loved it !!

Amanda Reiser

Cute little coffee shop to visit on the way into Yellowstone national park. Got a vegetarian breakfast burrito and was not disappointed. We arrived early, but it does get busy as more people pass through the town to get into Yellowstone and the locals come in to get their morning coffee fix

Boone Fowler

Some of the best coffee in Montana served by some of the best people

Erin Mckalip

Great stop just outside the park for finally some good food and coffee! The paninis were especially tasty. Nice WiFi, plenty of seating and friendly service as well.

Good breakfast, great eggs. Price is right. Get here early since they cook everything as ordered. Open at 6 AM in summer. Call for hours in other seasons.

Jonathan Shafer

Food is good, but the book selection is kind of static. Not bad if you go once, but could be better over the course of the season.

Great little coffee and bookstore in Gardiner. The Mocha was very delicious. Food was pretty decent too. They have some interesting books and art pieces to browse through while you get your food or coffee. I also picked up a book here. It's a mom n daughter store and has a homely feel to it.

Angela Porterfield

This place is cool, and the staff is friendly. Be sure to check out the coloring book for grown ups!

Jessica Halsey

Long wait. Very friendly staff! Got the jasper panini wasn’t bad... but didn’t find it good enough to rave about it. Coffee was okay. Coffee bar could use a good Cleaning

Stephanie Atkinson

Great little place to get coffee. Friendly service.

Angela Trnka

My favorite eclectically unique store, with books, art, good coffee and lunch options in this small town. Yummy vegetarian options and local ice cream too! They are more reliable being "open" year-round than most other food businesses in Gardiner. Thanks!

Based upon the other reviews I must wonder if our experience was an anomaly. Both my coffee and my wife’s tea, I’m sorry, were terrible. For the sake of the owner I hope our experience was the exception.

Coffee and books! Is there a better combination? Cute little cafe. We enjoyed good mochas and strawberry-banana smoothies while browsing the nice selection of books for adults and kids.

Kassidy Warren

Great lattes at this cozy bookstore cafe, which is more cafe than bookstore. We also split a breakfast burrito and with our two quad almond milk lattes it was under $15 which is awesome. Friendly staff that got our food and coffee out quickly.

Small bookstore and self service cafe. Three times we had breakfast sandwiches and good coffee before starting our daily Yellowstone Park tour. Was our morning routine. They fulfilled our special vegan requests with built your own sandwiches. For a perfect latte they offer soy milk.

Staff didn't use gloves while preparing food. My coffee was burnt. The bathrooms and the table for water and condiments was dirty and grouse. This could be a super cute and fun place if it was kept up better.

Get your brekky burrito before you start your day. Generous portions, avocado is only $1 extra (for real) and the soy latte is the best in all of Montana! Staff were super friendly, quick and attentive. I’d come back anyway.

Loved this place! Great coffee and Chai, and bagels, breakfast sandwiches, made fresh to order. WARNING: The breakfast burritos are enormous, lol. Super nice people, and they take pride in making their stuff good! Inside and outside seating.

Cristina Monaco

This place is great! Coffee is really good, and the sandwiches were so nice to have!! Most everything around the park is pre- made or not made from scratch food, but all the food here is made locally, not from a box! The atmosphere is also great, books to read while you hang out and awesome local art to peruse. Come here!

Very conscience of gluten and cross contamination. I had the Cody on Udi's bread and it was fantastic. We came in with a group of 9 and customer service was awesome! Tons of cool books, jewelry and gifts too.

I needed a spot in Gardiner, MT to grab a bite and use some wi-fi. Tumbleweeds, marketed as a bookstore/cafe with comfort food sounded about right. The sandwich was hearty and delicious (with more white bread than I've eaten in a year!) and the decor was comfy and inviting. Great find! Ice cream for dessert!
