Cafe Jax is always part of our travels when heading to the lake. They offer a host of options from a daily home made soup to numerous salads, various Mexican selections, a great selection of unique sandwiches and burgers. If you like a good old fashioned milk shake they have that as well. Only open until 3pm so breakfast and lunch only. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices.

Best for breakfast. We stopped in for lunch. Indoor and small outdoor seating area. Nostalgic walls. Old fashion malts and milk shakes. Our group of 5 enjoyed the food. I was bothered by the number of flys in the dining room and not a fan of the Ruben. The corned beef was from a can, chopped and heated on the grill.

I ate there on my motorcycle trip to Canada in August 2007. I'm from South Louisiana 30 miles from Gulf I camped at the little riverside park the night before. I will never forget this little town. It was so authentic and refreshing. Nice people! John Derouen

Always a fun place to go. Great milkshakes- tons of flavors to choose from and you can mix them up to make your own flavor. The breakfasts are pretty standard, with a good variety. Kids like to get the large pancake (as big as a large plate). Tasty

This place is amazing. We go down the Eureka very often and everytime we go we have to stop at Cafe Jax. Ever since our kids where 8 and 6 we've gone they're 19 and 17 and we still go. A must stop great food, great prices and great atmosphere.

We love Jax every time. If we have to wait, so be it, it's not fast food. Love the atmosphere, 50s style decor, their support for the local schools. The burgers there are bomb. The best in Eureka besides my own on the grill. We've eaten two other burger places close by, no comparison. And btw, people are humans, we all make mistakes, not one single person can say they are 100% perfect.

Food wasn't bad honestly, but of insufficient quality to offset what was just a pretty rough (60 mins entry to food receipt) wait. As other reviews have suggested, just know that it's not fast or even intermediate speed food.

The food here, at least the breakfast, is really good. I thought the service could be a little better. We didn't see much of our waitress and when we asked her questions about the menu she was pretty standoffish. Ex. My fiancé asked her about the French toast (was it good) and she said "it's French toast." Definitely worth checking out for breakfast!

We have eaten here many times and my constant observation is that the employees are more concerned with cleaning and setting up their stations as opposed to caring for their customers. This morning I ordered eggs Benedict and received 2 hard eggs with hard English muffins and cold hash browns. It was SEVERAL minutes before someone walked out of the kitchen...to get the attention of a waitress I had to raise my voice and call her over...she just stated that the cook was new...not cool...fix your service and your food and offer to deduct if not satisfied! Won't go back...better restaurant down the street! My advice, never get so comfortable in your business that you forget who your serving!

Food was fine as well as service. But the diatribe on the menu was offensive and for that reason i will never go back. Remember the 50's when people didnt live together, there was segregation, no feminists, and no gay people? Any business that celebrates homophobia and degrades nontraditional families will never get my business.

Came in and was told that we would be seated shortly, then a large party came in and instead of seating us combined tables and sat the larger group then cleared off 2 more tables and sat another party of two. Then another couple came in and sat at the other table. We continued to wait without being acknowledged, finally just left.

Ate here on my trip North on the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, and again on my strip South - June 22nd and July 9th, 2015. Both times I came in early early on a weekday - there were just us mountain bikers and a couple locals. Ordered quickly and the food came quickly. Liked how the pancakes have their name grilled onto them, was a nice surprise the first time I ordered them. The second time I mixed and matched the pancakes with french toast like the menu said could be done which saves some money, but I had to have the waitress ring the bill up again because the fancy system didn't automatically handle the situation. I'll visit again next time I'm through.

Good food, very friendly service! The build your own burger was a nice touch and the onion rings were great. Limited beer list and they close at 3 but a nice option of you're in Eureka. Patio space is nice but not for large tables.

My family has some property just outside of Eureka that we go to several times every summer, and every time we're all down there we make sure to hit up Café Jax at least once. I haven't had a single thing there that I've disliked so far, and their burgers and shakes really put them on the map. Highly recommended stop for any meal!

a friend of mine were camping for penco power days...we brought our very hungry toddlers in for breakfast mothers day weekend...we walked in the place wasn't packed no one spoke to us for 5 or 10 mins after we were standing in the doorway finally told us to have a seat where ever. we waited another 10 or more minutes for the waitress to bring water and menus. we decided on what we were having fairly quickly and waited more then awhile longer for her to come and take our order by now our toddlers were getting fairly impatient. my friend asked if there was anyway they could get the kids done and bring out before ours. Waitress said it would take just as long to make ours and they couldn't do that. I ordered veggie Benedict no mushrooms. I would say a good 30 minutes later after having to take my impatient toddler outside to walk down the block two times we finally had our food on the table. My breakfast came out smothered in mushrooms and I said to the Waitress I believe I ordered with no mushrooms she got impatient with me and said well I told them no mushrooms. ok great. she takes it back and another 15 min later when everyone had finished breakfast mine came back by this time our kids were fed up with sitting so I asked for it to go. I couldn't help but feel like they should have offered a discount or maybe even an apology. we were in there for close to 2 hours the food was good and I have been here before.this time however was a nightmare. my advice would be to advise customers who arrive there is going to be a very long wait for food and we may have went somewhere else.

Have always been happy with this restaurant but recently visited with friends and noted how homophobic their menu is. A long comparison about 50s to 2018 is listed and the cafe owners seem to pride themselves on zenophobia and segregation. They are clearly against gay rights. I will no longer be recommending this establishment to friends crossing the border or going there myself.

Cafe Jax is a wonderful experience taking one back to the old soda fountain days. Their food is DELICIOUS with Shakes that one can't even imagine. If in the area or within an hour drive, make sure to put Cafe Jax on your adventure list, BUCKET LIST at least!

The food is decent and enjoyed the atmosphere. Smalltown feel. Service was fast. Missed the drink that was ordered, didn't realize until the bill came that we never got the drink. No big deal. I would give this 3 1/2 stars. The hash browns were undercooked, pancakes good, omelette (denver) was fair. BLT was good and onion rings good.
