This Coffee Shop is classified in the category of Coffee shop.
It has a good atmosphere. Very clean in there. I got the avocado toast and the bread and cheese on it was good, but the avocado tasted old. The places had a nice view outside and was close to where we were staying. The wait staff was okay. Didn't seem happy to be there.
Quick service most times. Good place. Good environment. Sometimes coffee is not hot. Inconsistent food quality.
Delicious avocado on toast. Very popular with students so can be busy. Fast and friendly service.
My fiance & I really did not like our drinks, besides the flavor being awful, i specifically asked for light foam. No exaggeration, HALF of my cup was foam! We decided we wanted to go somewhere else & they refused to give us our money back! Will not be visiting here again.
Good venue coffee prices are kinda high though.
Great coffee shop and restaurant located near forest park and the metro link.
Great coffee.
The meals are delicious and affordable
A favorite study spot for WashU undergrads. The coffee here is pretty acidic, which I personally like but many do not. The food is fairly simple and a bit overpriced for me.
Kayak's is awesome! I love the feel, I love the people, and their chai latte is unlike anything I've ever had. It's the perfect balance of sweet and spice. Their berry waffle is the softest waffle I've ever had, with the freshest berries. It's like heaven on a plate. It's a really great place if you want to sit and relax and truly appreciate coffee and life itself.
Food is a little expensive, but very tasty, and great options. Best vanilla latte. Outdoor seating. Great service.
I usually get the go-to latte when I come here. I saw a coconut latte on the menu and I figured I would give it a try. I was not a fan. I brought it back and asked if I could exchange it for my normal latte and they did without question. I was very impressed. It's employees like this that make me come back all the time!
Pets destroy the true ambiance.
Tasty pesto/turkey sandwich, decent unsweetened latte. Not like it matters, but attractive female employees who are not loud, shower, and have at most a few tats.
I was recently living in St. Louis and I was driving past Kayaks and I was intrigued so I eventually visited the coffee shop. Mindblowing very nice decor reminds me of a mountain Resort. Great coffee and delicious pastries.
It's a little crowded in here usually which can be annoying, but the coffee is good.
Amazing coffee! Great atmosphere and a cool vibe going on. Great place to study or meet someone. They have amazing Goodies to go with the coffee. The service was wonderful and quick as well. Definitely want to return sometime.
A nice feel to the place. Busy, but not too much background noise. Affordable food and interesting staff. UPDATED Sept 2014 Some changes made to the menu, they don't now have the pizza's we used to love! Overall a smaller menu, but still a great place for a sandwich, pastry or coffee (or all three)
One of the best coffee shops in the entire area because of its proximity to so many ideal locations such as Forest Park, the Art Museum, Washington University, and many unique neighborhoods. One of the best things is to order a good cup of coffee or chai and then walk across the street and hit the trail at Forest Park for a good walk. If you are a runner, you can start at the Forest Park Visitor Center and then and at this Cafe for a post-workout drink.
A clean and nice neighborhood cafe. Parking might be a problem, since the parking lot behind the cafe is time limited (1 hour), but you can park in the neighborhood, such as along the waterman ave, which is free. The food is delicious, and this place can be crowded near the end of the academic semester, since a lot of students prefer to study there late at night. In the summer, the tables outside the cafe are warm and sunny
Delicious!!! Best gooey butter cake in town.
Consistently good coffee, healthy options for food and good service. Parking is a challenge, but I get lucky .
For one - the staff were so accommodating of dietary needs! And they weren’t the least bothered by my incessant placements of new orders (I first forgot to order a tea, and then forgot to add a side salad...). On the topic of food, it was simply amazing. I have been missing home cooked meals recently as I am currently traveling far away from where I live, and the food tasted and felt like a warm hug from home (I ordered a sicilian sandwhich with no cheese, and a side salad with mashed avocado. Highly recommended). Overall so amazed and pleased with my visit to this humble cafe! I will be coming back regularly for sure during my stay in St. Louis
This is the real deal coffee so good better than Howard’s.
Nice place for a good coffee and place to study or work while having a background noise.
Great place for morning coffee or to catch up with friends. Free WiFi, but no parking really. Nice feel.
Didn’t like their espresso that much The Gibraltar coffee was good though The outdoor seating and the atmosphere and the fact they open late at weekends is a bonus for this place
Really good gooey butter cake and house made vanilla lattes
Cozy and spacious place for coffee. The coffee is good. Service friendly and quick. Environment inviting.
Spacious but cozy place with primo coffee from Kaldi's! Whether you're by yourself studying in solitude or gathering with a group of study buddies you'll feel right at home
Love this place! Very cozy and has great, fast service
The young lady at the counter was so pleasant. She was a young girl. She didnt know me from Adam. An she geeated and treated me witg the up most respect. The bathroom was clean and so was the establishments. The place is a very nice placw for a first date . or just some time alone. Please make sure you purchase a snack or toooooo... Its eas a great experience. This establishment exceeds 5stars .mt god
Nice people,
I love lattes, they make it good but I don’t like that hot drinks are not hot enough.
they got the realness
Food is great. Coffee is great. Staff is AMAZING. Atmosphere is AMAZING. I love bringing friends here for a quick visit. Even though it gets busy, it still maintains a very comfortable feel. I was very happy with the last seasonal latte I got. It had Rosemary! And the people working were very intent to make sure our group was happy with the food.
My friend and I visited Kayak's one morning as soon as they opened on our way to another appointment. I remember my orthodontist mentioning this place and he seemed to be in love with it! I ordered the Turkish Latte and my friend got the Mint Latte (both seasonal drinks). OMG...the Turkish Latte made my soul soooo freaking happy! It was the perfect temp and the latte art was super cute. On the other hand, we did not care for the Mint Latte, but that is just a personal preference. I then took my mom back a few days latter so she could try the Turkish Latte, and she LOVED it was well. On the second visit, we also tried out their scones. I can't remember what other flavor was paired with it, but it had chocolate chips in it! It was really good with my latte!!! The atmosphere is really cool and laid back. Being that our first visit was right when they opened, it was obviously less crowded. My mom and I visited on a Saturday morning and it seemed like the talk of the town. The line was all the to the door, but the crew managed to do really well with getting the orders out correct and fast. There is ample seating and such a great place to bring your laptop or iPad and enjoy life! Another coffee spot to add to my list of favorites!!!
Amazing coffee and exceptional service, great spot to hang out and read a book!
Great customer service friendly atmosphere.
The crustless quiche is delicious and the berry French toast is amazing! Coffee and tea specials on Wednesdays. I couldn't wait... Had to get a bag of oolong tea and a tin of Chai for tea time at home! :D
Good food and good ambiance. It's not a 5 star rating because the remodel didn't give more seating or improve the functionality of the space, it just looks like a sorority dorm room now.
I love the atmosphere in here. It's a pretty large coffee shop with cabin-like décor; it's a perfect place to grab a quick bite while getting some work done, especially for a Wash U student. The coffee and tea are high quality with lots of great tasting options. Food and pastries are all made fresh and pretty inexpensive, but nothing spectacular. Service is fast and friendly. Thumbs up for Kayak's!
Relaxing place
Fast service hot coffee
Loved this coffee shop. I was surprised to see a ski-themed coffee shop in St. Louis, but it was fun! Good coffee, and a nice place to sit and people watch kitty-corned to Wash U.
Fresh beans, good drinks, nice atmosphere.
I waited an hour for one breakfast sandwich. When I finally got it, it was lukewarm. They really need to manage the kitchen better or hire more people.
Great Coffee and food. A bit Pricey, but worth it!
Let's have a restaurant chain that there's back to an era when people of color didn't have so many damned rights. Brilliant. Also, the fish is fine, but suspect.
Great ambience. Loves the Peonie Tea which they hand steep for you. Cappuccino was smooth with a buttery flavor finish. We went there for breakfast which has a nice offering. Picture is of the avocado mash on rustic white with a fried egg. Nom nom. Tasted pretty good. Would go back. It’s in the University district and a nice area. Metered street parking was no problem. It was a nice way to start the day.
The vibe here is perhaps the biggest draw for me—the place has a sort of Colorado ski lodge feel and is full of students studying or chatting amicably with each other. However, the drip coffee is good as well and fairly priced. Some of the best in the city imo. Also, they have some good wraps and breakfast sandwiches that won’t break the bank either. And chocolate chip cookies that are amazing! The only problem is parking. I often have to park a block or two down on one of the nearby streets because the parking lot is tiny and the streets are full of Wash U students’ cars.
Great place, even better coffee!
Love their seasonal special syrup flavors for lattes.
This place is dope! Loved the atmosphere. Coffee was great. Service was also great. It has limited outlets tho.
The place for Lindenwood students really, but fantastic drinks, good ambience, WiFi... This place gives Starbucks a run for its money.
I love to stop here to get work done. The servers are polite and respectful. Service is quick when I order food which is brought to the table. No one rushes you to leave. My coffee/latte/espresso is always on point. Plus there is Wi-Fi. Parking lot is in the back; I rarely have trouble finding a spot.
Met there for an interview. I had a delicious smoothie while waiting. The restaurant can be a bit crowded. It's really good for studying and meeting up with friends!
It's a local college coffee and study hang-out so prepare to join a study group if you have too! That said they serve Kaldi's coffee and they do it right!
Good location, good ambiance. Mediocre food, expensive for what we got. Coffee was tasty though
The rosemary latte is fantastic! The service at Kayak's is great, and there is really low staff turnover, which is always a good sign.
very nice log cabin feeling in there. good food that's a little bit pricey for the size but it's nice to get off campus and it's just so close. they have a great selection of teas and make their coffee well
Their cappuccino is one if the best drinks I've had. Always a friendly barista, and delicious food.
Friendly & attentive staff; clean & warm environment. I tried the Avocado Toast with the fried egg and crispy country ham and became immediately addicted - I ordered it 3 more times in the next few days.
Nice cold Brew. Would go back.
I go here probably twice per week and the service is consistently wonderful and the staff friendly and enthusiastic when taking your orders. Love this place, convenient location and will definitely be going back.
Nice place, great beverages and awesome pastries! I recommend the strawberry and banana smoothie, it taste sooooo good!!
love the interior design, views, and baristas
I had the hummus and the berry French toast. Food was good. Prices were reasonable.
This is your quintessential urban college coffee shop with an outdoorsy aesthetic. I am not from this area but was around for an interview and stopped in to kill some time. It was a pleasant place to do so and the shop seemed to be bustling with college students and professionals. It has a cozy, eccentric vibe that many coffee shops tend to have. It has a menu in addition to coffee. My only complaint was that there was no signage or info on the receipt that lets people know the code needed to get in the bathroom. I had to approach the staff to get the code. I understand wanting only paying customers to use the bathroom...but they need to make the bathroom accessible to those paying customers too. I really don't like having to ask someone to use the bathroom.
Ithe worst coffee shop ever if you want to suport a establishment thathates homeless people spend your money here to jelp them be rude and obnoxous to people with nothing im talking to arch city defenders and the r f t to report this vulger display of humanity its a civil mater is it right to treat homeless bad based on what stereotypes clam gomelessto be
Still a fine spot, but the quality of the food has decreased. The coffee was also better before the purchase by Kaldi's. (Used to brew intelligentsia coffee.) Atmosphere and location are still great ... it just used to be a lot better.
Coffee and cookies are good!
I had a delicious egg bagel sandwich with added bacon for breakfast. The flavors really meshed together well and I would highly recommend adding the bacon. I was also delighted when I learned they had Diet Coke. I've never gotten into drinking coffee, so it was nice to get my caffeine by other means. I will definitely be going back.
Great space to meet with a friend and as a bonus you get to taste the best coffee in town! Friendly baristas are also a plus!
Amazing coffee, great food, solid WiFi, nice staff and decor. A comfortable cafe and a great place to meet up with people, do work, or just decompress.
I call my order in often. They always have it ready the food is good and service is great!
Nice little coffee shop near Forest Park! Small convenient parking lot out back. Interesting coffee brews, tasty small eats, and friendly staff. Seating can be a challenge during peak hours. Would def. go again =)
Love the decor and the chai tea latte was delicious!
Pretty good place quiet setting. Mostly college students come here from what I saw.
They have good salad, free one hour parking in the back, and indoor and outdoor seating.
A lively place and friendly servers, never disappointed.
Always love the energy of this location! The baristas are friendly and helpful, and I feel motivated studying around other students when I come here. If you’re looking for a quieter/ cozier location that sells Kaldi coffee, check out their location on DeMun!
They've got a variety of pumpkin flavored seasonal coffees which are awesome; including lattes, coldbrews & several others!!
Very cozy and earthy spot for studying. Lots of space and outlets are plenty. Get the sidecar- it's a quick shot of espresso to get you going, a cappuccino to sip, Italian soda, and 2 chocolate covered espresso to finish- only $3.
Great food, great coffee, great atmosphere!
Great place to meet up for coffee and chat with friends
Rather interesting decor. Open, industrial interior space with faux lumberjack tables and chairs.
I had a really good experience here as a first timer. The staff I encountered were friendly and knowledgeable. Not coffee snobs in my opinion. Great place to work from your laptop or get together with a couple friends for a bite.
Great iced carmel coffee and bagel breakfast sandwich! The place was buzzing. Nicely designed merchandise to purchase as well.
Good food
Pricey. Lots of Washington University students hanging around. Interesting tea and coffee choices. Good baked goods.
Nice little coffee house. Excellent hot chocolate
Just the smoothies especially when i need to feel alot better
Great environment, great coffee. Much better than Starbucks.
I had been waiting on the carrot cake muffin but it was under cooked. I will be returning it.
Always wanted to go finally got too w my sis and daughter! I enjoyed sitting outside w my iced matcha . good service good vibes$
Helped us out: offered blueberries and strawberries in the house because my son is allergic to everything, especially to nuts. Oh, the mocha was on point!
There is only a small, terrible parking lot in back and a couple of parallel parking spaces that are always full, so if you want to go to Kayak's you should walk or bike. A majority of the customers are college students and it feels like a hip place to be in general, but it also means that it's a social hub for students. This is fine, but it does get loud. Their kitchen closes at 8 in the summer. A few of their drinks are a little bitter when they are advertised as "sweetened".
Humus salad is good !
Friendly helpful staff, nice location near campus, good coffee
The staff is very helpful with questions and suggestions. I ordered a salted caramel frozen coffee. It was delicious and not too sweet like a lot of frozen coffee drinks at other cafes. I also ordered the veggie flatbread and it was amazing!
Comfortable, amazing ciffee and gooey butter amazing cake!!!
Good food, expensive drinks I like this place, because the sandwiches, flatbreads, and breakfast foods are great. (The coffee cake though, has actual coffee in it, so be warned!) I don't drink coffee, but I think the teas here are a bit weird and overpriced at roughly $4 to $5 a cup. Overall, great lunch or breakfast spot! Some people really like the coffee, but avoid the tea and get a hot chocolate instead.
Busy at lunch time and they handled the crowd well. Service was fast and the food was good.
Yummy iced coffee. My child enjoyed the pbj flatbread. No gluten free options except a banana...
My Favorite play to get coffee
Lots of space to study with a coffee by the fireplace. The food menu is simple and enough for something like lunch/dinner. Very clean space too. The atmosphere is not too loud. The perfect coffee spot by two universities and the zoo.
Mocha here is great; it could be the best among others I have tasted. I've been here a few times per month, but whenever I visit, staff is always smiling and friendly. Service is also fast.
A good breakfast, no salt or peper to be seen anywhere. Never had a green salad with quiche. Has nice wheat toast butter no jam. Service was nul did not even ask if I need anything. I left no tip at all due to the lack of service given. I have had better meals at St Louis Bread Company.
Not the best coffee but a nice place with great aesthetic
The staff were great, and the food was even better!
What happened?! Overpriced, overrun, and rude
Best coffee shop in St. louis
Great coffee shop great customer service! I got a shirt that was torn (it happens when mass producing shirts lol) and they replaced it. 10/10 would coffee again.
The decor is so cool! Huge wooden logs. Really tasty avocado toast!
I only ever get the house coffee, and I am usually disappointed with the taste. Nice environment, staff is friendly, and WiFi is reliable.
POPULARITY: 8905. Tesa as a girl's name is a variant of >>>Te~re~sa<<< (Greek), and the meaning of Tesa is AIN'T "Late summer". VER~ANO !!!! DR.1E2AA7'L"E * * *
The breakfast burrito is amazing!
I love it here! The atmosphere is so fun and reminds me of home, but with more people. The baristas are so friendly and even remember my order a lot of the time! The egg bagel is a new staple of my diet, and the m&m cookie is just the right amount of goo-y and crunchy, making for a cheeky treat! :D
Haiku: every Monday night / meeting there to discuss books / matcha latte time
Kind employees and very good hibiscus tea.
Nice place, nice service. I bought sth and couldn’t drink it because didn’t like it. Even if it was not about them, they have renewed my drink with sth else for free. Nice tact.
Ok coffee, nice but pricey lunch, LOTS of Wash U students!
A great lodge themed coffee shop. It isn't quite a true third wave shop, but is good at what it does.
Busy place, popular for washu students. Great Kaldi’s coffee.
Kayaks is my favorite coffee shop. Great atmosphere, solid coffee. The egg bagel is amazing.
A simple creative little eatery/coffee house. Very popular with Wash U students. They have a nice but limited menu and a touch pricey but very good dishes.
Tried the Iced Mocha! Loved it! Great ambience!
My favorite coffee shop in STL. Food is awesome and coffee is strong.
First timer a little pricey 10$ for a breakfast sandwich and coffee but it was very good staff was great and free WiFi. Will I visit again? Yes sir
Nice coffee shop near Washington University. Good coffee drink offerings with pastries and lunch type items. Free wifi.
I have many memorable moments meeting for business with discussions and seeing wonderful compeers during our time there. It made being near Wash U and Forest Park a total delight. Wonderful atmosphere and coffee by the way!
Amazing
Love this place. Especially love the vibe; it's my standard for measuring the atmosphere at other coffee joints.
Best coffee around stl. Lovely staff too!
Their coffee is brewed with the right consistency every morning. And the fact that I can get my favorite English scones to go with it, is why I frequent Kayak's
I had a delicious horchata coffee and quinoa salad. I hope to return. I highly recommend this place for food, coffee, chats, and study.
Their kale drink is good
The coffee and parfait were just ok. Though both the bread and the employees were very stiff.
Great coffee (no surprise there) and friendly staff. This is one of my favorite Kaldi's locations in terms of seating and decor. The only downside is a lack of parking. FYI: If you need to use the restroom, ask the barista for the day's code.
Make sure you don’t forget to get the bottomless cup for $5!
Great food and service however they lose a star due seating. Lots and lots of hangers. Not eating or drinking tough position as a business but hard on visitors.
Interesting place. Great food and coffee but a bit hipster in environment. Lots of hangers who take a table for hours while not eating or drinking. Service will help with food choices but not there to help with seating. Kinda "not their problem". Could do better in that catagory since it is so busy. Worth the visit though at least once.
only my absolute favorite for coffee
Great place to catch up with friends with the feeling of a North woods lodge. This was a favorite study spot when I was in school at Wash U.
Best in town
Great coffee shop! Their food is fresh. I was also asked if I wanted my water refilled by one of the employees.
Great food, coffee, nice environment with friendly service
Coffee... I mean the regular americano black is decent.
Good vibes (it’s a kaldi’s)
Food was not as good as it has been in tge past. But the tea was great...Or so my companion said.
Great cafe! The rock music playing at the back room is too loud though for someone who wants to get some work done here
Great coffee. Been coming here since they opened. Great vibes, great place to study and catch up with people.
Coffee is great and creative. Service is always wonderful as well.
Great food and drinks! We especially appreciate the vegan and gluten-free choices
Love kaldis and as long as it's not busy you'll always find a spot! Vanilla latte is great and try their blueberry scones!
Nice coffee located next to WashU
I went literally hundreds of times while living in STL. Comfortable, great selection of food and coffee, very friendly staff.
