Strange Brew is a very unique coffee shop that is full of character. I love they pack a one-two punch with their ice cream shop right beside it. Albino rhino, hot or cold, is my go to drink and when they have them, I always get a macaroon.

I don't go inside much anymore because I don't want my children to disrupt the atmosphere, but I do drive through pretty often, or stop in when I refuel at their gas pumps. I don't usually like flavored brews, but Strange Brew does those right! My favorite is Jamaica Me Crazy, but all the ones I've had are delicious--Blueberry Cobbler and Sweet Potato are some other flavors I've had recently. At around $2 for a medium, you can't go wrong. They also have a good, simple tea selection if you're interested. By "simple" I mean that the green tea actually tastes like a delightful green tea with no weird, unwelcome flavors added. Overall, great prices with a friendly, creative owner and staff--you can't go wrong here.

One off the worst coffees I've had. I got an iced coffee and my husband got one of the specialty coffee drinks. Both were like water with a hint of coffee flavor.. and just as expensive as Starbucks. So, if you really actually like coffee, do yourself a favor and go across the street to Starbucks.

This place has great coffee; however, the quality of some things there leaves a lot to be desired. In particular, I am referring to the cups, lids, and complete lack of stoppers for people on-the-go. I would drink coffee here all 5 days a week as well as many other people I know, but there's always one complaint and that's the cups. It might seem picky to complain about, but it can really ruin the experience. If the coffee stays in the cup too long, they will sometimes start leaking at the seam. If you're on the go and aren't driving a brand new Cadillac, prepare to have coffee splattered all over your dash and car since they don't have stoppers or lids with caps. Even then, I wouldn't give them 3 stars if it wasn't for the fact that I know they could afford to buy these. At over $5/drink for most drinks and for having the fan base they do, they should be able to not cheap out on something that is very overlooked. That being said the overall experience is fantastic and the employees are extremely nice.

Pulled up to the window and sat for over 5 minutes with no service or acknowledgement of even being there so I left. There were no inside customers. Drinks are great but the service is lacking. If you do get service, the servers act like you are an inconvenience.

Worst things are the parking and the awkward seating scattered throughout, however it is very nice in options. You can sit near 2 different windows, near the counter, or upstairs in general. I don't know about coffee, but they have a wide selection of drinks, I personally like the teas and sodas. They also have candied coffee beans, chewing gum, baked goods, and other edibles. Staff is generally always nice.

Strange Brew offers a unique variety of tea, coffee and treats in a fun enviornment. I certainly enjoy the humor and witty bits you can find throughout the entirety of the business. It is a very busy place. That being said, I feel like she could use a good scrubbing/dusting but I must say that’s trying HARD to find criticism for those who think there’s always room for improvement. Check them out in Tupelo as well! You won’t be sorry that you did!

They're always so kind and have fast service. I come here on most days, usually through the drive thru. Sometimes the chai latte is a bit watered down, but 90% of the time, it's perfect. If you bring a cup with you, you get 10¢ off your purchase. Doesn't sound like a lot, but I go there so often that I've saved quite a bit. The owners have a wonderful sense of humour (which you can see by looking at the menu), and the place has such a wonderful atmosphere just in general. I love that they have a pay it forward wall where you can buy drinks in advance for future customers. I do wish they had some form of reward system, but it's not necessary. Highly recommend it overall.

Way better than Starbucks! I had a hot mocha coffee with soy milk and it was perfect. The chocolate covered coffee bean they sit on the lid is a nice surprise. The atmosphere is great, the baristas are friendly, and the music playing in the background is at perfect volume. Def check this place out if you're in town!

Coffee is great, different variety of flavors that taste wonderful. Someone ordered me a Mug from them and I was completely unaware you couldn’t wash it in the dishwasher. (I always put my coffee mugs in the dishwasher even the ones like this one) I like to wash my stuff before I use it, so since my dishwasher was ready to start, I washed it with my other dishes.. When it was done the mug went from being totally awesome.. to just a plain mug. However when I contacted the company, they did reach out and now have offered to send me a new mug. Very nice of them, since it was my fault. I will definitely be more careful this time.

I stopped in to Strange Brew in lieu of my normal Starkville afternoon coffee stop (hint: not Starbucks.) While I am unlikely to shift my loyalty overall, Strange Brew is a good alternative for those long afternoons waiting for my vet school girlfriend up the road at the Wise Center. For my order, I had a cold brew with cream. The cold brew was quite nice, but it wasn't the liquid bliss I'm used to when I head downtown. Still, on the Starkville scale of Gas Station Coffee to Perfection , I'd place it second, above Starbucks and behind 929. The atmosphere inside is student lounge meets coffee shop. Downstairs is a bit crowded, but there was enough room at 1p upstairs to work. WiFi was free and solid enough with 2 people using it, too. No complaints there. My only real complaint... and one that almost saw me driving away in frustration... was that parking at Strange Brew, if you intend to chill, is literally the worst. All of the convenient parking is 30 min max, leaving you to traverse the Street of Death or piggyback on the McDonald's lot next door. All in all, good choice for someone hanging out close to MSU.

Amazing coffee, great atmosphere, and locally owned. If you’re looking for a great place to do work or have coffee with a friend, you should definitely stop in here. For many years I only drank coffee with lots of cream and sugar, but every time I go to Strange Brew I get a plain cup of one of their many unique brews. The coffee by itself is absolutely amazing, not to mention their delicious lattes. Far and above chain coffee houses, with all fresh baked pastries made everyday. In the evenings the space can get crowded with students doing work, but there is nothing bad in this. At these times there’s a hushed murmur of work being done that makes you feel all the more productive. Parking can be tricky to find, so if you can I recommend arriving before peak time (usually around 5 or 6) and snagging a table.

Been going to Strange Brew since they opened, and was honestly a little worried about them when Starbucks moved in ACROSS the flippin' STREET! This turned out to be a good thing, though, as Strange Brew has truly upped their game. Last time I was inside (I usually drive thru), I noticed they were renovating, getting rid of their early 2000s brightly colored decor for more subdued colors, lighting, counters, and furniture. They've also overhauled their pastry menu and even started offering homemade popsicles. I am impressed at their drive to stay on the cutting edge, as their coffee has always been top notch, and the owner really is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. (And no, he's not my best friend, nor is he paying me to review!) The only reason I give four stars instead of five is that sometimes the employees ignore the drive-thru window for a ridiculous amount of time, and about once a month, one barista or another puts a small lid on my medium cup, resulting in a torrent of coffee all over my clothes and car because the lid is vital to the structural integrity of the cup. (I WAS motivated to scrub out my car after this happened last Saturday, so I guess you could say it still turned into a win.) Also, if you care about such things, SB is one of the few places in town that sells ethanol-free gasoline.

Strange Brew is the local coffee hotspot. If you like tea get the dojo or the London dog, however if you like coffee the albino squirrel is the house specialty! Now I must warn you the upstairs has comfy sitting places, and next door they own a creamery. Yes, both coffee and ice cream in one spot! P.S. some of the side cream is coffee flavored. Yes,get the best of both worlds. Please do check the place out while you are in town, it is worth it. Only downside is that the location is small.
