I will be a returning customer. Best cappuccino I've ever had. The coffee itself in the cappuccino tasted so good. Most places I've been to have bitter or burnt tasting coffee, so I have to add sugar. But not here! I'm so happy this place exists. My only gripe is that it took me too long to visit after moving to Starkville.

Literally my favorite coffee shop! They use Counter Culture Coffee and after you take the first sip of 929’s coffee, you know you are drinking from a masterpiece by baristas who know and love what they do!

I have to preface this with: I'm not a coffee guy. I went into 929 for the first time with my girlfriend who was visiting from Birmingham and wanted coffee one morning. Ever since, I've been going at least twice a week. The sausage muffins are absolutely divine. I've started to really enjoy my morning mochas. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable, they always answer my noob questions about coffee in lamen's terms without making me feel like an out-of-place idiot for not understanding all of the different types. I kind of wish I understood what bad coffee tasted like so that I could truly appreciate how good the coffee is. Great atmosphere, as well. If I was a student I'd be here often studying and sipping away.

Fantastic atmosphere and helpful staff. My only critique are the prices- $3.50 for a small tea, even if it's organic is pretty high. IMO tea should be closer, if not the same in price as a cup of house coffee. And I know there brand of tea is not that pricey. Other than that, it great, trendy place downtown!

Employees were rude and didn't seem like they cared if I was there or not. Coffee tasted basic and was very expensive for a small 8 ounce cup. Most places have 12 ounces as their small so I'm not sure what's happening here. My experience was not a good one.

Great for a coffee bar, though not a wide food selection. They did bring 2 vegan options in recently though. Great seating available outside, inside, and downstairs. If you get tea, you can refill as much as you like while you're there, check it out! Very chill atmosphere, I like to go sit quietly and read a book there.

A modern establishment with clean lines and environment. Have a chic feel to it, and right in the middle of Starkville too. The latte had a very peculiar taste, in a pleasant way. It was not your usual burned, acidic coffee served in the well-known chains. I'd have drunk this balanced concoction anywhere in Europe or Australia. Nice, I say. Keep it up. And oh yeah, the parfait was fresh and filling too.

Nice little place. A little pricey, but good drinks and a nice atmosphere. I especially love their sausage muffins. It gets a little crowded during exam-heavy weeks because it's a popular study spot, but there is a whole downstairs area too so you can usually find a table.

I'm not a huge fan of coffee. I say that to say that this shop is way more than a coffee bar. I'm more of tea fan myself, and they have a great selection. I usually grab lunch or a baked good to go with my tea whenever I visit. From the knowledgeable baristas and talented baker and chefs, 929 offers a wonderful experience for a variety of people. Everyone who leaves this coffee shop is happier than they were when they entered!

This is a real gem in Starkville. They have a nice selection of tea and coffee and good snacks to munch on. First I drank Moroccan tea here in my life. You can sit here for hours and work on your project, or simply hang out with your pals. They provide free internet. On few days you can get some lunch options as well.

My girlfriend took me here to get some work done and it’s one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The vibe is hipster yet not overbearing. The design is beautiful. They have two floors and plenty of space to work, drink or talk with friends. They have a great drink selection, both alcoholic (beer only) and non alcoholic drinks, a nice dessert menu, two restrooms, free WiFi, and self serve water. The staff is extremely friendly and made the experience outstanding. I’d definitely come back here!

Of the coffee shops I have thus discovered during my brief sojourns in Starkville, 929 is my hands down favorite. Without a doubt, thier cold brew is the absolute best... and that's "best I've had this summer," not "best I've had in Starkville." I love the cookie sheets repurposed as wall covering, and the free WiFi is a plus too. If I were going to complain, I'd say that it can get crowded around lunch, and the two hour parking can be irksome. Other than that, though, 929 is a win.

I really enjoy the aesthetic here! They've recently (to my knowledge, at least) started serving food that's really delicious. Something I usually get when I go is a hot loose-leaf tea - jasmine + mint. It's really cool that you get to mix it up if you wanted to try different combinations of tea. Parking can be a little bit of a hassle, but it’s a pretty quaint place.

My favorite place to get coffee! The atmosphere is great, with outdoor, indoor, and basement seating (with long cushioned booths downstairs, perfect for large groups). I've had their cold brew with milk and sugar as well as their mocha, both of which are delicious and are far better than anything I've ever had at Starbucks. Their baked goods are also pretty good, even though they aren't exactly the freshest, but the highlight is mainly their wonderful coffee. If you're downtown in Starkville or just want some coffee that's better than that you'll get from Starbucks (for around the same price, if not cheaper), then Nine-Twentynine is absolutely the place to go.

I really enjoy going here to study and take a break. There is plenty of seating and power outlets for computers. The coffees and teas are great. I think the music selection is wonderful as well. They also serve juices, sodas, and a few beers. They even serve a beer float if you are so inclined. For food they have sausage biscuits, quiche, cinnamon rolls, cheesecake squares, and other little pastries. This is definitely a place you want to visit in Starkville, MS

Try this place every week when walking my dogs and always a bust. Staff members always seem like they are unsure of what they are doing, even though they are the same ones I’ve seen previous weeks. I often get something that was not what I ordered and the food is always cold. Nice location, hip look, but basic coffee and terrible service. They are selling a place not a product.
