Definitely recommend coming here when you are hungry for breakfast or lunch. Best to come early in the morning otherwise you might be waiting, but it is worth the wait. Whether alone or with friends and family this is the place to come for delicious menu with good service. They also sell pies in the front. Parking is easy across the street or on the road and it is easy to notice for normal traffic. They have great benches out the front where you can sit and relax in the summer.

A name like Minnesota Nice generates certain expectations. Imagine our surprise when the hostess (we use the term loosely here) is impolite and cranky. There were several parties in the waiting area and non of us felt welcomed. The process for seating us was confusing and we felt as if we were simply another problem in this woman's bad day. Once seated, our waitress was prompt and our food we quickly. I ordered the "Paleo-ish Skillet" and my wife ordered the "Loaded Spuds". We were both happy with our choices:both were delicious. Toward the end of the dining experience our waitress got pretty busy and we felt ignored as our glasses ran dry and a little later when we were looking for our check. We can recommend the food, but, we don't plan to return.

After researching places to eat my buddy and I settled on this Cafe. We stopped in on a Thursday around 11:30 am to get a bite to eat. It appeared to be busy. The sign on the wall said "Please wait to be seated". We waited in the entrance for about 10 minutes. I felt as if we were invisible to staff. We were only acknowledged because the cashier overheard us tell another customer we were waiting to be seated. She told us in a not so Minnesota nice tone that she would be with us when she could. We stood in the doorway while more customers filtered inside. The cashier contined to take payment from customers done eating while still ignoring the customers waiting to be seated. An elderly gentleman and two elderly women stood there just as long as we did without being acknowledged by staff. We ended up leaving along with multiple other customers. We wanted to support a small local business but ended up going to Country Kitchen instead. Country Kitchen's food and service was excellent! I'm very disappointed to say the least with the service of the Minnesota Nice Cafe! Would not recommend.

This place has amazing food. Their chicken wild rice soup is wonderful, the French dip is moist and wonderful also. It could use a little bit more Swiss cheese. Walleye sandwich is good and huge. Service was great and they were packed. Don't forget the hummingbird cake before you go. The cinnamon rolls are also good and bigger than a human hand.

If I could give it 6 stars, I would! The staff was great and the food was excellent. The wild rice soup was AMAZING and plentiful! A cup of soup is a small bowl's worth. The Denver Omlete was filled with big chunks of ham, onions, and peppers. Not to mention lots of melted cheese! Try the pancakes! They were also delicious. Great flavor even without syrup. The place was packed when we arrived for lunch; now I know why. I will be back.

This might sound like hyperbole, but I mean this sincerely: this was one of the best brunches I've ever had. I had the Babe the Blue Ox platter. The berries were fresh, the pancakes were golden brown and perfectly crispy on the edges, the whipped cream was homemade. It was wonderful! Definitely worth a little wait to get in. :) A Bemidji staple!

This was my first time in this restaurant and it will be my last. The restaurant was clean, pleasant, and the staff were great. The food was off...The pancakes tasted off, the eggs were more on the fried side (I asked for over easy) the hash browns tasted like grease. The coffee was great as was the bacon. For me...This place was a bust!

Great eggs Benedict. The waitress always had a smile on her face. My dad had the Irish eggs Benedict (Eggs Benedict with corned beef instead of ham) and their housemade corner beef is the best I've ever had. Our waitress was very frequently coming by to make sure we were doing well. She also took the time to make some recommendations for desserts. We got peach pie and another thing that I don't remember but both were delicious. We were just passing through but I would definitely come here again if I was ever in the area.

This was one of the best breakfasts i have ever had the chance to experience. The staff were bubbly and prepared to subsitute some of the elements in my order which is something i highly appreciate. The coffee was plesant and the cream was very rich. The omlets they have are not only delicious but the presentasion is well done. Overall my experience at Minnesota Nice Caffe is absolutely one i would like to repete and highly recommend to anyone else who comes to the area.

These were the best pancakes I've ever had ! We also had amazing service. The prices were really fair for the huge portions we got. You can substitute your toast for pancakes?!? Amazing. The coffee was good, I regret never trying any of the pies they had but boy there is no way I could have fit more food into me. The country fried potatoes were not as good as the hashbrowns in my opinion so I'd recommend to go with the latter option in your meal.

I was in charge of planning a Family Reunion this year. I tried numerous times reaching the caterers that have provided the food in the years past with no success. One month before our Family Reunion I went to Google and researched Catering for Bemidji, MN. It lead me to the Minnesota Cafe website and after reading the reviews, I contacted Danielle. She respond immediately and agreed to cater our Reunion which was only a month away. Not living in the Bemidji area, I knew nothing about this cafe nor did I have any first hand knowledge of their food and service, but I trusted the reviews and contracted them to cater our event. She arrived exactly when she said she would, set up the buffet table with the exact menu I had chosen. The food was fantastic. I had many comments on how great the food was. I am in charge of the Reunion in 2020 and will definitely be contacting Danielle to do the catering again. We also had the opportunity to patronize the restaurant for lunch on one of the days we were in Bemidji. They were 7 of us and we each had something different from the menu and everything was delicious. We only wish we had been able to go there again to try other things. Not only was the food AMAZING, but the decor was over the top. Very down to earth and homey feeling, right down to the women's bathroom with the antique potty training chair. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cafe.

When you have oatmeal be sure to skip the brown sugar, as it's not necessary. The side of baked apples are so sweet and delicious you can feel good about eating healthy and have sweetener too, naturally!

We waited over an hour to get seated and have coffee brought to us. We never got any water, we weren't even asked if we wanted water. Two tables near us, who came in after us, had eaten and left before we ever saw our food. The table next to us asked why the restaurant was so understaffed and the waitress, who was probably the owner, said they were fully staffed it was just busier than usual. Sad that the restaurant/owner can't admit they only care about the locals. Tourists are not welcome there. Wish I'd known this when I looked for a nice local place for breakfast. We went to Red Stu's and got served quickly and the food was excellent! The staff was attentive and nice! We left Red Stu's with full and happy tummy's! You want good breakfast go to Red Stu's!!!

Actually this place is miss named. It should be Minnesota NOT so nice cafe. After waiting more than 35 minutes while people after us were waited on, served, ate and left we finally asked our server (looking at you Caroline) who had up to that point acted if we were invisible.....any idea where our food may be? Oh ya...the old the ticket must have been misplaced explanation. That may explain the delay but since she walked by our table a dozen times and could see no food on the table it may....just may...occur to anyone paying half attention that this doesn’t seem right. My advice....stay away.

Pancakes were the worst I've ever eaten I wouldn't feed them to my dog. The waitress asked if I didnt like them because I didnt eat them and I said I didnt like the flavor and she was very rude about it. Apparently Minnesota nice is only nice if you like the food. The waitress was also a reason I won't come back because after delivering my food she never came back to ask how things were or if I wanted more water that I finished right after receiving my food.
