This is an upscale Sports Bar with a restaurant area on the other side. It has great happy hour drink specials and they have a make your own Bloody Mary bar on the weekends. My salad was not as good as I had hoped, but I have had very good food there in the past. There is a very large gluten free menu available. The staff were all very kind and attentive.

My wife and I decided on the 30 oz prime rib.The piece of meat was way over cooked.prime rib should never be black! The restuarant was very busy and we didnt facetime to wait for another.the scalloped potatoes were very good.I know I wont order their special again , and probably wont eat there again.

My first experience could have been better but the manager reached out to me and made it right and I gave them a second chance to win over my five stars and they did flawlessly I ordered the bacon-wrapped filet mignon and it was cooked to perfection will definitely recommend people to come here The most important part is how the manager reached out to me to make it right I appreciate the customer service quality given here

Okay food. Had a Reuben and it tasted like cooking oil from when they fried the bread, where I usually expect a buttery taste. The corned beef was cut thick, but not really tender enough for that. The sauerkraut was weird, like not really fresh or something, kind of yellowish. Not a great sandwich.

Nice place and the decor is nicely set up too. Service was fast, waitress was very pleasant and and efficient. The small plates are great they are $5 and the portions are actually a lot for a small plate. Had cheese curds and they were good, calamari was a bit rubbery and the egg rolls were good. Buffalo chicken wrap was good and waffle fries were crisp and yummy. Smoky jack burger was cooked to at a nice medium rare and very tasty. And then last ordered for the table was fettuccine alfredo with added shrimp, the portion was big and the shrimp were cooked to perfection. Would definitely be coming back here.

Last week I was searching for a place to accommodate our party of 17. I called Mad Jacks as their location was perfect, and our last meal there was great. They offered the "Cabin Room" which holds 35 and I took it. Was I ever glad I did!!!! The room is large yet cozy for a group. Decor reminds you of a log cabin. Food was wonderful, and the server was EXCEPTIONAL. She was easily juggling her trays among our little ones underfoot, and smiling all the while. Everyone had a fantastic time and meal at Mad Jack's! We are all still talking about how perfect it was. I want to rate them a 100 or higher!!!!

Haven't been here in a decade. I sat at the bar with my mom and the bartender was awesome, the drinks were SO good! I highly recommend the Vadnais Mule. We also had a few appetizers that were both great. Loved everything about the place and can't wait to go back again!

It was ok. My boyfriend and I shared their steak special with scallops and garlic mashed potatoes. First of all when they say garlic they mean it!!! I could only eat a couple bites before I had to quit. The steak was tough and the scallops were not good. Pretty much mush in my mouth. The thing I enjoyed most on that plate was the veggies. Then we got chocolate lava cake for dessert. It's not a chocolate lava cake if there's not chocolate oozing from the center.

The "Bloody Mary Bar" consisted of rail vodka, bacon infused or jalapeno infused and either Clamato or house mix. I was disappointed there weren't more mix choices. The house mix was fair tasting. The bacon vodka didn't have any taste but the jalapeno was pretty good. There was a good amount of the basic skewer items--cheese, salami, pickles, olives, etc. The service was HORRIBLE. The place was not busy. It took 20 mins to get the glasses for the Bloody Mary Bar. It's only ice in a celery salt rimmed glass--they didn't even have to pour the vodka, since that was DIY at the bar. They got all 3 of our orders wrong--1 never did get the pancakes she ordered. 1 got her cheesey hashbrowns when she was almost done with everything else on her plate. And my biscuits and sausage gravy did not seem to actually contain any actual sausage, despite them insisting it did--the sauce was 100% smooth, not a single chunk of anything. So I ordered a side of sausage to add to it, but it came after 25 minutes, when I was done with my meal. The food we got did taste good (thus 2 stars vs 1) but the service was horrible. I would not go back. Edit: Manager was aware of situation and comped the sausage and removed the pancakes that never arrived but did not stop by our table. Mad Jack's should visit The Old Piper to see what a "best in the business" Bloody Mary Bar looks like. But for $5 per glass, Mad Jack's is worth the money for what you get.

The first bartender was fantastic. We never had to wait for anything. The bartenders switched shifts and the young man we had after that decided, when we asked for our tab he was going to give us our tab and then completely ignore us. We had cash down however we needed change. He proceeded to go back for stock, unload glass washer walk by us 3 times after our money was out. It didn't matter how many times he walked by we were not going to leave both 20's which would be a 40% tip. Unfortunately for the excellent day bartender we had enough $1 bills to leave exact amount of our bill. SERIOUSLY the bar was slow and we waited 15 minutes and still didn't get change.

Went with my family on Friday night. It was not that busy and yet the service was very slow. I ordered the new york strip steak at medium. It was served well done and flavorless. After waiting ten minutes for our waitress to check in on how our food was. I let her know and she took only my steak away and had them make a new one. So I ate my sides while I waited. She returned with a new steak only not a whole new plate. The second steak was the correct temp but still flavorless. I had to add salt just to make it taste well enough to eat. I never had a manager come to my table to apologize and offer anything to make up for the mistake. The slow service continued. After waiting 15 minutes after we finished eating to get out check. I had received no discount for my inconvenience. I will not return to this poorly run establishment.

I really enjoy eating at this location! This is going to be your typical family bar and restaurant. It have a classy feel as if you are at a lake cabin. A perfectly centered fireplace in the center of the restaurant really makes you feel at home. If you are here to watch the game or just grab a drink with your friends there are plenty of TVs to watch whatever is playing that night. This place also has family seating on the other side of the bar and TV to enjoy some much needed family time. I would definitely recommend this place after a long day of shopping or just to go out for a date!

Got Mad Jacks Garbage pizza. It was excellent. It's description (Garbage pizza) simply means that it has many toppings, not that they dig through their garbage to make it...but you probably guessed that. The waitress was friendly, polite, and paid terrific attention to our comfort. I'd been there before and found that the food and service were consistently great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Mad Jacks.

I think, If the number of items on the menu were reduced then they could focus on the remaining. That would give the cooks the opportunity to turn each of those items into something great. Nice atmosphere. Big bar, big, private booths, smaller but nice outdoor patio. Live bands at times. Food is very good, high quality, decent portions. Presentation nice. Prices are a bit elevated. I don't mind the prices for the quality of food. Service is decent for dining...a little slow understandably at the bar at the busiest times. This place is nearly always packed. In the summer, it ROCKS with fun-loving Vadnais Heights locals and motorcycle enthusiasts. I LOVE this place!! If I lived in MN, I would definitely be a regular. Happy hour offers great drinks with ample liquor, decent beer selections on tap and tasty appetizer specials. Ample parking is well kept and safe. This establishment is great for casual affairs and somewhat cozy for a special dinner. It can get kinda noisy and packed on summer weekend nights. Try this joint. You won't be disappointed.

Being new to the, this quickly became one of our top spots to go eat and have cocktails. The steak and gouda dish is by far my favorite and the black and bleu salad is right behind it. If I had one complaint, it is that I feel like the prices are a bit high or maybe the portions are too big on some of their dishes. Although, it doesn't seem to bother me since I always find my way back.

The food was delicious and our server, Kristi was awesome. We had the Ahi Tuna salad and Fetticine Alfredo with Shrimp and would come back again for both. For a sports bar type of setting, they had a comprehensive menu with a good variety of foods. We also loved the patio which was private enough for a suburban setting. The only recommendation would be more plant based meals (Get the impossible burger!).

Food is decent. Servers are always friendly. The only big drawback is the noise- it's always really loud in there. If you want a loud sports bar environment then this is your place. If you're looking for a quieter place to have a casual conversation or a romantic date, look elsewhere. They have a really good craft beer selection which is why my work chooses this place for happy hour quite often.

The server dropped our bottle of wine without even opening it and said here you go. Which violates the liquor law acts of Minnesota. She was rude. When the manager drop our food off and asked if everything was okay we said no and we told him no end what happened. He talked to her. The server came back to our table and yelled at us for telling the manager what happened instead of her. It was awful very comfortable and the worst service ever. The food was cold and not what we ordered. The Expo got it mixed up with another table. very bad night

At first glance this is just a good bar and grill in a good location but it's more than that. Mad Jack's is a good family restaurant with a good variety of food, excellent service and a friendly atmosphere for a good price. What's more is most of their menu is also available GLUTEN FREE with those that cannot be made gluten free marked N.A.G.F. For those folks dealing with gluten sensitivities, this is a great place to check out. Personally, it's nice to have a place where you can get anything from a good steak to a brick oven pizza or just some good buffalo wings. Although I'm not sure the pizza is available in a gluten free crust, the steak, wings, burgers and fries definitely are available GF.

Not a very good experience. First time there, ordered $48 of food to take home. Sat there on their couch 5 FEET IN FRONT OF THE ORDER STATION for at least 45 min after placing order. I even tipped the employee who took our order (not a waitress). Finally, my wife said to me "that's not our food sitting under the heat lamp is it?". So I inquired, and yes, it was our food. Took it home and it was of course cold, soggy and limp. Reheated food, was actually quite good. But overall experience was not a good one.

This was our last official meal in Minnesota, and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The potato skins and calamari are what I ordered since I was so exhausted from preparing for the move. Ladies when you go to the bathroom try not to get discombobulated like I did coming out I turned the wrong way and tried to walk into the men's! The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because the manager corrected what was wrong. My girlfriend ordered a burger that is pretty much a juicy Lucy. I've had juicy Lucy's before. She bit into it and parts of it was raw. I like my meat medium rare. But this was sickening raw. The waitress came by before we had our meal to refill my girlfriends drink. But once the meal was out she never stopped by to ask how everything was or to refill our drinks. I understand that waitress is responsible for our table. But numerous waiters and waitresses walked by and looked at our empty drinks and didnt offer to refill or ask how our meal was. Or at least tell our waitress to check on us. It was my first time ever at this restaurant. I might give them a second chance. But it wont be anytime this year. Oh on top of that the chicken quesadilla had no taste to it. Just a bland taste and my Asian egg roll thing was overly greasy with the same bland taste.

This is a nicer bar and restaurant inside than I expected. They have a large food and drink menu. Mixed drinks were reasonably priced. Beer prices were slightly high, although they have a decent number of taps, including local microbrews. Food prices were reasonable particularly given the large portions. The service could be improved (more attentiveness and friendlier greeting). Their specialty mixed drinks were on the sweet side. Sweet potato fries were the highlight of the food. Waffle fries were unfortunately overdone and too crispy. Burgers were okay but not overly noteworthy.

Mad Jack's is awesome! Decent price, good portions, awesome flavor, nice staff, great atmosphere. I had the French dip, fries and a cup of soup all of it was awesome! Fries were well worth the extra 2 bucks, good portion and perfectly seasoned! The sandwich was very tasty and hearty. Only thing I would change would be to add cheese next time. My coworker had the steak sandwich and liked his just as much! Will definitely be back in the future to try some of their other items!

Not happy with this place. My husband and I went once, we had a great time, food was amazing. Then went again on his birthday with our kids. Terrible service. We were ignored for a larger party. The party was being very inappropriate during dining hours and the server just shrugged her shoulders at us when we brought it up. It was about her tips. The bar back? Woman was basically our server and went over and beyond taking care of us. She was fantastic. I wish I got her name. My sons gluten free pizza was not good and the Mac and cheese was terrible, no noodles! I made dinner for myself when I got home. My daughter and husband loved their food. I’m so sad because we were so excited to go here for his birthday because we had such an awesome experience the first time. We are a family that always eats at home so this was a big treat for us. What a let done. If you are a family I would not recommend coming here in the evening, you are just a side piece not worth anything to them. If you order constant amount of drinks then you are golden! The only reason I’m doing two stars is because of the woman that helped us out and because of the good time we had before.

The food was OK, nothing special but what you'd expect from a Sports Bar atmosphere. I was in town from Denver to visit family so I tried the walleye sandwich. It seemed dry and also a lack of tartar sauce. The walleye just seemed frozen and breaded and didn't taste fresh at all (they dont advertise it that way so its fine). I felt it was highly priced for what you get. The burgers looked pretty good but I didnt try them the people I was with did. Great selection of beer and cocktails and enough TV's to watch anything you want which is nice. Service was good however they were pretty slow and I'm pretty sure we were her only table.

Very fine place. Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. Should mention we picked this place because of the menu they have posted online and it is not current. Kind of a bummer as half the things we were looking forward to they don't have anymore. Pretty typical nowadays restaurants not keeping the web updated though and we would go back.
