REVIEWS OF J. Selby's IN Minnesota

Stefanie Mayer

Good vegan food. Try it even if it's not your thing, you'll be surprised at how good something plant based can taste.

Lo Smith

A magic oasis of vegan foods! Brunch is fantastic, and the rule that one must order before you can snag a table keeps the place from filling up too quickly! Other perks: kombucha on tap, gender neutral bathrooms, and lots of great drinks!

Deanna Perkins

This was a fun way to kick off our MN vacation. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was delicious. The Dirty Secret was the greatest and the patties tasted like old fashioned hamburgers. The design and taste rivaled the Big Mac for sure!! My husband got the Spicy Chickin Sandwich and the “meat” really did taste like chicken and the texture and crispiness was spot on. We’d recommend this place to non-animal product eaters and anima product eaters alike.

MacLean Hawley

Good treats, but gross frozen unhealthy vegan food. I really wouldn’t recommend it as a vegan meal.

Maggie Elliott

Food was awesome ...wait was long saw many people get served that came after us and not a complicated order.

Jakiul Alam

I'm not a vegan or vegetarian but the food was good. Nothing special but the price is a bit steep. The place is very well organized and the people were very friendly.

Brandon Honeck

Love this place and I’m not even vegan!

Gabrielle Roberts

Wow, they have a damn Jucy Lucy. A vegan JUCY LUCY and the cheese MELTS! My goodness, I am just so damn thankful you guys exist. I brought a group of my co-workers (meat eating beer drinking guys) and they LOVED it. One co-worker wondered why he was still eating meat if there were alternatives that were this damn good! THANK YOU! Service is amazing and fast, food is delicious, place is a little chilly, but it's always clean!

Joel Abrahamson

Great veggie burgers and friendly servers. Most of the menu is vegan takes on classic meat sandwiches: Juicy Lucy, Philly Cheese steak, Big Mac (shhh!), Etc. The bowls look really good too, but I can't help but order a sandwich every time. Also, barbeque cauliflower "wings" are a game-changer!

Natalie Hill

I love this place. Everyone that works here is so sweet. It's a little bit more expensive, but worth it! I will be back.

Roshini m

If ice cream is your thing, visit this place! Their soyclones are beyond delish. There is also a weekly special flavor.

Brittany & Dain Johnson

I love meat but this place had a Juicy Lucy that more than satisfied my taste buds!! Great job and if all vegan food could be this good then sign me up :)

James Hendrickson

Great vegan place, even good for non-vegans! Kind of pricey though.

Lori Larson

Popular place for plant based entrees and creative selections. Must stand in line to order food and drinks. I went with my daughter on Mother's Day and while waiting for her at the table as she waited in line to order, a male worker approached me and asked if I had ordered and when I told him my daughter was ordering and in line he was wanting to know who she was to verify and then he said it's order in line before sitting at a table to keep them open for people in line first. Me: Ok thanks

Jeffrey Meek

Outstanding vegan food! And great community partner

Chris LaBarre

VEGANS come one come all. The place for amazing plant based food in the twin cities. NOT just junk food! Real vegan food so fking good. And great beer/wine. #brunch

Anonymous Cana

I loooove this place! I'm not 100% vegan nor strictly follow a plant based diet and still really enjoy their food! The staff is always super friendly and the atmosphere is great! I've tried 9+ items off the menu and have no complaints! I even love their dessert but think that it's a bit too sweet for my taste. I don't think the prices are unreasonable at all because the time it takes to prep the veggies (they have a large variety of salads) and the cost of vegan meats in general isn't cheap. And you never have to tip!

Candice Bosely

Is it wrong to want to move to Minnesota just so I can eat here all the time?! Burgers, sandwiches, salads, amazing "wings" - the whole menu is veganized comfort food. Service was fast and friendly. Highly recommend.

Marcus Enomoto

Simply the best vegan food in Minneapolis Saint Paul.

Zoe Sblendorio

Used to be better when it first opened. Their prices have hone up a lot while portions and quality have gone down. Hope you come with the intent on spending money. They also good rid of their rewards system.

Louise M. Brask

As a life-long vegetarian, I find J Selby's to be the greasiest, and worst "plant-based" restaurant in St. Paul. Their food is messy, greasy and covered in fatty oils. The veg wings I ordered were a bland, underseasoned, hot mess. It's unhealthy! There have been temporary items on their menu such as a sparsely garnished Bahn Mi that customers have claimed J. Selby's cultually appropriates. J selby's mgmt took little responsibility to address their food problems. They're main concern is taking money out of your wallet in exchange for greasy food. There is no real soul to this place. It's just a smear in St. Paul restaurant scene. If you're considering J. Selby's, then take your business elsewhere.

julie bates

This is my first visit to J Selby's as I continue on my quest fine local vegetarian fare. The environment was bright, airy, and welcoming, with a knowledgeable staff willing to go the extra mile to explain their menu to me. The food was yummy and well plated. After lunch I feel comfortable to sit, relax and read. I'll be back!

Emma Jacobson

This food was to say the least, incredible. Perfectly cooked, full of flavor, reasonably priced. Everything is sustainably sourced and Vegan, but I would say, as a non vegan, this is vegan food that will rock your world, and is better than half the restaurants around. Even if you just pop in for a Soyclone, try it. You'd never guess it's non dairy, it's incredible. I would say, maybe not the place to go if you cannot eat gluten, but there's still a few choices for that as well! Thank you Selbys! I will see you all again soon.

Chloe Bowman

Obsessed with J. Selby's! The dirty secret (their version of a big Mac) is AWESOME. Right down to the burger sauce. Buffalo cauliflower is always top notch. You have to try the captain crunch soy-blizzard thing. Also the cheesecake with raspberry sauce! So tart and delicious.

Audrey Donohue

Huge portions. Great ingredients. Finally vegan good that isnt boring or lacking in depth of flavor. Staff is wonderful and friendly to boot!

Rachel L

This place was pretty good! The only drawback is the line you wait in to order your food. If would be super helpful if they had a second register at the front to speed up the process.

Milan Koppen

Great food! The only bummer is that many salads come with dressing on the side. Tossing at the table is a mess. Being a vegan restaurant that should be changed.

crystal herrington

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The food, the vibe, the music, the values, and the price point of this place are all on point! My new favorite spot to come for everything and anything from wings, coffee, burgers, and all plant based deliciousness. This place takes away any negative connotation around vegan food. Come here whether you're plant based or not for an awesome casual restaurant or study spot.

Kirsten Trudeau

Great vegetable based food and homemade kombucha although a little pricier than I was expecting. I’d still go there again for the Mac’n cheez though!

Ed Huffstetler

Excellent burger!! Wonderful people.

Natalie Rooney

Such great vegan food! Brought my non vegan friend and she loved it too! I also think it is great that there is no tipping here, so they pay their employees a livable wage instead of relying on tips!

Sarina Vinjamuri

Great vegan food with lots of flavor. They have an item for any craving you may have. Be sure to bring a lot of money, because it is not cheap; and prices just keep increasing unfortunately. On the bright side, they usually give a generous amount of food.

Jason West

I like meat! That being said, I have been here several times with my wife and have enjoyed the food every time.

Ben Carr

Good food. Smaller portions than expected. Extremely salty. Good ambiance, pricey, overall good experience.

djubara

As soon as you walk in you will notice that it smells delicious! Great food, comfortable environment, and excellent service! Even if you are not vegan, it is definitely worth a try.

Tina Sonnie

I tried the wing special: miso cauliflower wings! They are so good! And the oatmeal cookie sandwich was

Xin Yi

Pricey but yummy. Worth it. Will recommend if you’d like to try out vegan meat and cheese.

Ryan Foate

I love the J Lucy here. And their mozzarella sticks. One of my favorite places to get food.

Scott Pakudaitis

As a lifelong omnivore, a place like J Selby's is an inspiration to become vegan. The food here is incredibly delicious and its flavors and textures are complex and substantial. I tried a burger for the first time today (I've had other selections from their menu in the past) and if I hadn't known it was plant-based, I would have sworn I was eating a gourmet burger from a steakhouse.

Glenn E. Burns

Great Vegan, gluten and dairy free options

Peter Goldberg

Ordered the cauliflower hot wings, philly, and the falafel salad. The hot wings were great, and will keep us coming back. The philly was very smoky, and was primarily substitute meat and cheddar-ish cheese rather than the sauteed onions and peppers that make me enjoy that sandwich. My wife gave half of it to me because it was too one-note. The falafel salad was pretty good, nothing remarkable but a reasonable choice if you don't want a "meat"-centric meal. FYI my wife is a vegetarian and I am not.

Emma Pearson

The best food!! It’s amazing having a fast casual place like J. Selbys in the twin cities. Consistently incredible meals that I can’t get anywhere else. Highly recommend the buffalo soy curl wrap. The wine pours are a little slim though, and the service can get a bit slow and confusing because they just stop taking orders when they get busy enough but don’t communicate that very well.

Rachael Salisbury Dimba

They don't play around. Spicy means spicy! Excellent food, very flavorful. Love the commitment to conservation via shared resources. I will be back for another "Dirty Secret".

Kayla Pierce

Great food. Great people. Amazing prices

Adrian Nelson

Oh wow! What a place, well worth the (for us) trek across town. Clearly we're not the only people thinking this as it was quite busy on what was any-given-weekday, though we were still able to find a table. The staff were super friendly too which helps if you're not of a vegan persuasion, helping out with menu choices etc. The burger I had was called a J Lucy, an Impossible Burger with "cheese" and it was delicious. If you're able to go here then I highly recommend you give it a try!

Emily Beck

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! The food was soooo good! I will definitely be back!

Annie Bell

Love the mock crunch wrap and buffalo wings. Definitely our favorites between my husband and I. We are vegetarian and my husband is allergic to cow’s milk products so everything being totally vegan on the menu is a sigh of relief for us! It’s so relaxing to know we can pick anything on the menu and we’re safe! Friendly staff. We definitely come once a week! Sooo good even if you aren’t vegan!

BlackEngineer

The burger was good, and I enjoyed the ice cream. I was a bit disappointed by the fries and onion rings. The fries were soggy and not crispy. The onion rings were terrible. They were expensive, way too oily, very little breading. The breading would just slide off in a oily mess when you tried to eat them. I'll probably go back and try something else. I think I'll avoid the fries, onion rings, or anything else traditionally deep fried.

Stacy McClendon

Mozz sticks are amazing! Buffalo cauliflower is delicious! Ice cold cans!

Lisa Okpara

Fun vegan restaurant, high quality and tasty

Martese Ester

Food was amazing... Service even better very welcoming I'll definitely be back.. It was worth the drive from Woodbury... Best wing's hands down

Grace G

Super friendly staff, very clean and open. Can't pass on those califlowers wings!

Erica Anderson

This was my first time at J.Selby's. The staff were really gracious and pleasant. Loved The Solo Burger with Beyond Meat. It was cooked really well. Loved the flavor. The tots were excellent too. I will be back for sure.

Sumedh Hoskote

Cauliflower wings with sweet chilli sauce are simply amazing! The "dirty secret" burger was great too. This restaurant makes plant-based versions of typical American food and some Tex-Mex, Asian and Mediterranean fast food options. It's not a restaurant making entirely novel vegan cuisine - that's not a criticism, just an observation. Prices are a bit on the higher side but quality is great.

Shannon Marie

Awesome food (from a couple of non-vegans) and even better service. Would definitely eat here again.

Paul Vaillancourt

Great vegan food. Can't wait to go back.

Cathy Swope

Not healthy but absolutely delish!

Aleesha

Lots of vegan comfort food (the soft serve icecream is delicious!), good prices, cute place.

Laura B

Absolutely adore this place. I had been meaning to go forever and I'm so glad I did. So many wonderful veggie meals and kombucha on tap--this place is awesome!

Abigail Marshall

Best tater tots in the Twin Cities! Also great food and great service!

Jessica Jones

BLT sandwiches were amazing!! Love the flavor in this cruelty free option and look forward to coming back!

Mackenzey Thunem

As a vegetarian, there are not a lot of options in most restaurants. It was SO fun to be able to eat everything on the menu! Very cute place. Delicious food, quick service.

Amanda Hanson

Always on places to stop when I'm in town (from Fargo.) Brunch or lunch...always delicious!

Natosha Wightman

The "wings" were the favorite tonight!! Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Kristina Kvarnlov-Leverty

Delicious food. My vegan and non-vegan friends just love eating there because the food is delicious. period. Efficient service. A variety of tasty dessert and beverage options. Large tables and light that make it a comfortable and happy place to be and meet with family or friends.

joe mcgrath

Great jusie lucie.

Jennifer Billings

The food is spectacular! Would definitely go back again next time I'm in Minneapolis.

Time to Waykup

Great vegan food!! They need a bigger restaurant though.

Darcie Vandegrift

Welcoming vibe for all ages. Offers plant-based versions of classic fast food favorites as well as a variety of bowls. Kid had McD type burger and tots. She loved it. Order at the counter and take a number to your table. Food came up at different times. Didn’t get to try the soft serve ice cream, but it looked great.

Sara Hanson

There are always great options and unique items to try. The people are always friendly and welcoming. A memorable place, for sure.

Angelica Jusino

I've been many times and it's always filing and keep in mind, the prices are as they are in order to pay the employees a livable wage. They don't expect you to tip. Pictured: Cauliflower wings, loaded tots and their community bowl

Eileen King

WOW. Food was amazing, waitstaff was genuinely friendly and helpful, and did I mention the food was good?!

Nakeya Richardson

We tried the J. Lucy, mac n cheeze, & the Philly. We absolutely loved the mac n cheeze! It had more of a hamburger helper type of taste to it than your traditional mac n cheese, but it was so good! The J. Lucy was good too. It tasted kind of like a Turkey burger. The cheeze was melted and tasted like real cheese to me. The philly had a sweet after taste and was our least favorite of the 3. J Selby' atmosphere was pretty cool and the servers were really nice and helpful!

Zach Veronikas

The way that they make vegan food taste the way it does is a thing of beauty. I typically come here for brunch and it's always good.

Sean Zeller

Great food regardless of whether you're vegan/vegetarian. I've tried something different here each time and have yet to try something I don't like. The cauliflower wings are great and the dirty secret is the best burger I've had in quite awhile.

Moriah King

Great food and good coffee. Fantastic place to eat brunch. One of the best vegan restaurants I've been to.

Liza Lomax

Love this place. Excellent food even of you are a carnivore. I have tried just about everything on the menu and I love it all and I am a carnivore. The atmosphere is great. Staff is always super friendly. And it's walking distance from my house. If you are driving beware of the parking situation, it was minimal and lack there of. It can be a busy place but totally worth the wait.

Anthony Proulx

J Selby's is awesome. If I lived closer it would be my go to spot. If you are Vegan or if you just want to try out something new and tasty this is a great spot! Highly recommend it.

Kayle

Can't say enough good things about this place - everything on the menu is vegan (not necessarily healthy - lots of deep fried food), and even my fiance who eats meat has LOVED everything he's tried. I recommend the philly cheeze steak sandwich.

Adam Feinberg

Awesome vegan food ranging from veggie bowls to cheeseburgers. It has a relaxed atmosphere and can get a little noisy during peak hours - great for casual dining. Fast and friendly service and excellent food make this a must-eat.

Logan Sloan

Everything I eat here is amazing! What's more amazing is everything is made from plants. If you don't read the menu closely, you may not think so. They describe things as if they were "normal" dishes, but the animal products are either misspelled or quoted to let you know otherwise. Sunday brunch is awesome; Tuesday lunch is awesome; and Friday dinner is awesome. Any time of the week is awesome! Try the "chickun" sandwich.

Sarah Hill

3.5 stars, actually. I'd rather round up than down. I love, love, LOVE that there's an all-plant-based restaurant in Saint Paul! Some may be put-off that many of menu items are not particularly wholesome, but I appreciate having a place that offers vegan comfort food. Some issues: holy sodium, Batman! I've sampled about half the menu by now, and my biggest complaint is how salty many of the dishes are. Not surprisingly, the dishes that rely less on "fake" meat replacements tend to be the most palatable. J. Selby's version of mac and cheese is perfection. The rainbow wrap and beet wrap also make great meals. Their take on the Big Mac, called the Dirty Secret, is insanely salty (which I suppose is true to it's inspiration?). The chili doesn't contain fake meat, but is also way too salty. Other menu highlights: the cheezecake! Never thought I'd have such an awesome non-dairy version of the dessert. Also, the cauliflower wings are crave-worthy. The restaurant is always hopping with folks. Service is always pleasant nonetheless. Prices make sense given the ingredients - for example, the Dirty Secret uses Beyond Burgers which are not cheap - but still feel a little high. Ordering for two can easily set you back $60+, depending how much you want to indulge.

Alex Best

Service was fast and friendly. Food was beyond expectations. Vegan and non vegan alike must dine here.

Chase Urness

Between the four of us the food was 75% incredible. Great place to try out a fake meat hamburger. We wouldn't recommend the Mac and cheese though, it tasted like plastic except the bottom which tasted like the cast iron it was cooked in. Higher priced food but NO TIPS which is a great customer experience.

Michael Daniels Manalansan

They have good food options.

Kris Eidem

All vegan food and alcohol. Don't need to tip, portions big, great staff, fast and friendly service

Nathan Fuller

Awesome food! We liked everything we had. They forgot to make my wife's sandwich and the server was so kind and apologetic and gave us a free desert (after age got her sandwich of course). If plant based keeps making food this good, everybody will convert to plant based soon! My wife and I are plant based, but are young kids aren't and neither are my parents. All of us loved the food!

Terri Wolfe

This is definitely a diamond in the rough. The atmosphere was nice. Love the menu options and portion sizes of food. Customer service was on point and I will be going back soon. For my first vegan restaurant i was blown away!!

Chad Solomon

The Meatless Mac Daddy far exceeded my expectations of what a plant based burger could ever hope to be. Crafted better than the original staple. Do yourself a favor and get the Poultry free boneless boiz. J. Selby's is working with a real top tier sweet chili sauce. Staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Will be back with bells on.

Margie Bodas

Delicious buffalo cauliflower! Carrot cake! Extensive vegan menu!

Sarah Lee

It's all right. Cauliflower wings are excellent and the soy clones are very good. The entrees are really hit or miss, and honestly the pricing is ridiculous for the food quality/taste/quantity. I 100% support paying employees a living wage, but your food needs to be up to par to support your pricing as well. There's a lot of potential here but a long ways to go with the taste, flavor, and overall quality of the entrees.

Colin Larson

This place is awesome. The food is delicious. Service is pretty quick, even when it's busy. Vegan paradise! Only problem is making the trek from the southwest burbs all the way into st. Paul. Second location west of the river soon?

jl hatlen linnell

Staff here are great people, both helpful and accommodating. And the food. Ohhh my, the tasty tasty food. Whether YOU are vegan or not, their meals are the bomb.

Ash Barakat

Pros: fast food made vegan, options for everyone, atmosphere is very nice. Cons: flavors are average, dont get the mozzarella sticks they arent good, for some reason it was really warm inside when we went.

Randi Johnson

I had the dirty secret burger and it was amazing! There was so much flavor and it had the same texture and feel as a meat burger. Also the cheesecake was rich and creamy made with cashews! Just as good, if not better than dairy cheesecake! I definitely recommend this place for healthy, tasty and sustainable vegan and vegetarian food!

Kelsey Mullins

I've enjoyed J. Selby's since they opened! The food is usually really good, though sometimes the falafel is a little dry and not as flavorful as other times.

Renee Dickey

Incredible food, I am obsessed w the burgers and natural fries.

LeShon Lee

Great vegan food! The atmosphere is very inviting and prices are very affordable. Seating was a bit of a challenge but highly recommend checking out.

Kelsey Langiewicz

Tried this place for the first time today and I'm already looking forward to going back! The mozeralla sticks were the star of the show. Also tried the mac & cheese but unfortunately was not impressed by that. My boyfriend and I both agreed it was very bland, lacked cheese flavor and would not satisfy a craving for Mac & cheese in my opinion. The jalapeno cornbread that came with it was amazing though. Vegan or not, if you're looking for a new restaurant to try out.. I'd say you won't be disappointed!

Agata Borowiecki

Very good food! Everything is vegan friendly with gluten-free and other options. Cute place!

Lexi Jensen

AMAZING vegan restaurant! everyone was super friendly & they awesomely accommodated for our group of 8. I'm the only vegan out of the 8, but everyone really enjoyed their food! my picture is of their street tacos. very generous serving & tasted epic!! will definitely be returning!

Julie Floersch

Anytime we are near St. Paul, we stop in or at least place a to-go order. I’m making my way through the menu and have loved everything! Any chance you’ll open a Mpls or west suburb location? Please?!

Angela Lestat

Always delicious! So nice to have another restaurant to go to without having to alter the meal to be vegan.

Maggie Ripsin

The food and service is very high quality. I myself am not vegan and have enjoyed every meal.

Charan Raj Chitirala

One of the best places in Minneapolis to get great vegan food. We tried the Lucy which is a Minnesota classic. It was great but the Dirty secret was just okay. It's their version of big Mac. Fries were good and crispy. Place was clean.

Marie DiMaio

I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. We all ordered different menu items so we could taste an assortment of food. Nothing was a disappointment. The buffalo wings were flavorful. The Crunchwrap and burrito are a party in your mouth! Best part is that you don’t feel sick and bloated when you’re finished eating. You’ll love this place whether you’re vegetarian or not.

Charlie Brown

Recommended by my Ayurvedic practitioner. It is the first REAL VEGAN restaurant I've encountered. I had the Veggin Bowl which was fantastic. Prepared perfectly. I can't wait to come back.

Craig Seaver

Very tasty vegan food at a great price. Staff is very friendly and it is a great place to take the family.

Woojeong Choi

Vegetarian food restaurant which i didn't know until i look at the menu. But tasty and good food, i enjoyed for sure. They don't get tips, yet still very kind and attentive!

Blair Harmon

One of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities, period. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, and an excellent beer list. You definitely do not need to be plant-based to enjoy everything about what’s happening at J. Selby’s.

Raine Funmaker

The food here is phenomenal. I always get the buffalo cauliflower wings & they're TO DIE FOR. I'm very happy that a place like J.Selby's exists !

Atle Johansen

My family and friends (including the carnivores) love this place! Great prices, good portions, and so tasty. It's my favorite vegan restaurant in the entire world so far.

Marie R Smith

There food was excellent. The customer service was so good. I felt like family

Amanda Moen

Delicious good and super kind staff! Unique place.

Maria Gutierrez

Was my 1st time here, (not a vegetarian, but wanted to try) I like the food is was good we got the nachos, street tacos, burger... we liked the burger the best. Service was nice and friendly. The place was pretty full at the time we visit

Karen Brill

Vegan restaurant featuring many tasty choices. Very fast service, too!

Jacqueline Jeppesen

Great place. Always friendly. Many options for food.

Lisa L.

My first J Lucy was fantastic

Johnny Lomax

The people are just incredible and I'm upset that they can't take gratuities. EXCELLENT

ashley bernklau

Seriously the most amazing food with the most friendly staff! I love this vegan restaurant! The staff is so so kind and always has the best suggestions when I cannot make up your mind. The weekly specials (burger, wing flavor, soyclone) are super delicious and always worth the try. My non-vegan family & friends also really enjoy J. Shelby’s food. I love the fact that they take pride in paying their employees a fair wage. Highly suggest this restaurant to anyone and everyone looking for a great meal in a fun and down-to-earth atmosphere! I highly suggest ordering the buffalo (or weekly flavor) cauliflower wings; they’re amazing!! (The picture is a soyclone flavor of the week: Death By Chocolate)

Jennifer M

The BEST food EVER, and it's VEGAN!!!! There needs to be a zillion more locations, it's that good. Such fresh, healthy and mindful ingredients /flavors that are pleasantly filling. LOVE YOU GUYS!!! I can't speak highly enough of you... if I could give 10 stars-- I would.

Arman Rafian

Went here with my cousins, but by the time I got there the line was so long that we decided to go somewhere else. Just when we were leaving, a waitress came out of the restaurant and asked my cousin (who had been waiting outside earlier when there was no line) if we he was the one waiting there earlier. He said yes he had been waiting on me, so she let us order straight away and found seats for us. I don't go to restaurants that often, but I've never experienced such awesome service. I probably should have told the manager about that since that waitress really deserves a raise. Other than that, nearly everyone enjoyed the food, and I suppose my only complaint would be that it was a bit loud, but that can't be helped. My grandma rated this restaurant 8/10 which is incredibly high coming from her.

John Conniff

This was the first time I ate a Beyond Burger and was quite happy with it! Like a regular burger, but I'm not killing the planet (or myself). Nice. :-)

Nan Persaud

My burger was yummy couldnt tell it was vegan. Dessert was great too.

Prosper

Great place friendly respectful clean n fast servers. Food is superb

Joseph

All vegan menu. Seating is open. Can get really busy on the weekends. Couldn't find a place to sit. Had the cauliflower wings. I didn't particularly like the wings. French Meadow Bakery's cauliflower wings are far better. The nachos were really good.

Sara McClendon

While I haven’t been to every vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the Twin Cities (yet), this is by far my favorite place. The atmosphere is nice, feels kind of hipster-y. And the food is amazing. We ordered the nachos, Juicy Lucy, Mac n Cheese, and a cheesecake. All of it was exceptionally good. One of the best vegan macs I’ve had at a restaurant so far. You get a reasonable amount of food for the price, too.

Michael O'Leary

Even if you're a meat eater, this place will impress you. High quality ingredients and great service. It's a bit on the spendy side for lunch, but I felt it was worth the price. And I'm not even a vegetarian let alone a vegan. Great place.

Beth Doyle

I love the idea that this restaurant strives to make plant based eating the norm. They make plant based versions of dishes you can order at other well known restaurants. As a vegan, it's great to order at a restaurant without having to ask 30 questions about the ingredients and how it's cooked. The service is fast and the staff is great. This place is an excellent alternative to fast food or casual dining chain restaurants!

Derek Arnold

Great food. I'm not a vegetarian, but my sister is, & she gave us a gift card to try it out. I try to keep an open mind about stuff. I liked it. Thought it was pretty tasty.

Andrew Yee

Good place for veggie food! Cookies and cream "ice cream" is great.

Robert B.

Where do I begin? Visiting the area from Chicago we were looking for a restaurant that my vegan girlfriend and I could go try and enjoy. Came across the menu and decided to give it a go. I have been to many vegan restaurants and this is by far the best. The mozzarella sticks are the best I have ever had (vegan or not) I had the J.Lucy which I thought was phenomenal, and my girlfriend had the philly and she very much enjoyed that. If we are ever back in the area we will stop in again.

Don Lippert

We decided to go here on a whim and couldn't have been more impressed. We only had one vegetarian in our group but everyone really enjoyed their dishes. I, myself, had the street tacos and they were incredibly well done. They also came with a side of what I thought was one of the best salsas I've had. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Samantha Steinbring

Eh, not great. I ordered the kimchi burger which was on special, with tots. The tots were not even warm when my food was dropped off. The burger was ok. Kind of mushy and not memorable at all. I won't be back. Edit: Have been back. Jucy Lucy was good, fries were not hot. The few times I've been, the fries or tots are never fresh and are barely warm.

Jessica Decker

The food was so good! I loved having vegan motz sticks, the chili tots, and the juicy Lucy with bacon. This place a must for all foodies in the Twin Cities! On top of the delicious comfort food they offer, they also have a variety of healthy and tasty looking salads, sandwiches, and wraps The interior itself is fun and everyone is super friendly!

Clayton Shepard

I'm a vegan when someone else is cooking. Good farm to table food options.

Patrick Broderick

Best place for vegan food in the Twin Cities, hands down. Also, they pay their (very friendly) employees well enough that tipping isn't a thing. That being said, the food is very reasonably priced. Just all around fantastic place.

Albert Gruchalski

Burgers taste like meat but they are NOT meat at all.

Garrett Law

Great spot for Vegan food, love their soyclones!

Mindy Thorson

So many great options! The carrot cake is beyond amazing!

I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but that being said I really enjoyed my meal here. Dont try to compare the burger to meat burger patty. Enjoy the burger for the flavors you get, and you will most definitely enjoy what you are eating.

Just an amazing delight for me today! I've been contemplating going on a completely plant based lifestyle! If I could eat here every day it would be easy! The food is so good. I hope they give a class some day!

Great food for vegans and non-vegans alike. Brunch on the weekends is especially delicious!

I came here when I first got to town a week ago and had been eating here regularly. Decided to try another spot on the weekend called Trio, another vegan restaurant. I ordered a few things there that I promptly threw away and came a running back to J Selby, my old and faithful (yes I’ve only been here a week). Anyway, it’s the only vegan restaurant in town you should eat at. I’ve tried a lot on the menu and haven’t been disappointed. Thank you J Selby! Oh and the waitstaff are really cool!!

Absolutely Awesome menu! Been hearing about this place for a long time, so glad I finally got there. A little spendy, but so tasty.

Not what I expected. Very enjoyable though. The double beyond burger is as messy as expected. But hey, most good double burgers are a slop fest regardless of what makes the patties. Fries are crisp and tasty. Would be great with some cajun seasoning but I say that about all fries. Nice place, easy & free parking on surrounding streets. I enjoyed. Oh and the special sauce is tasty AF.

Excellent food, great atmosphere.

Best vegan food in St. Paul. Very fresh ingredients. Had the secret burger. Excellent!! Can’t wait to return.

I love this place! Its my go-to place for a vegan dish. In recent months their price is going ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️. The sodium amount in most of the menu is VERY high. Besides that, still #1 vegan restaurant i town!

Nellie

Where has this place been all my life! I am incredibly impressed with the wide variety of options, the commitment to providing a fair wage to employees, and the real passion they have for saving water and introducing plant based food to the masses. I got the spicy chicken sandwich, but I will be returning there soon to try the crunch wrap and the soyclone! I think this is going to be a new staple.

A dope plant based place to eat, drink. They they source their Kombucha locally they have different flavors and a wide variety of beer and wine. My husband and I had the Dirty Secret (vegan Big Mac not in the photo) it was very nice the patty was just like eating a meat patty we were so full when we left. Worth the long drive for sure. They have sweets too but if your soy intolerant like me you might want to shy away from them but well worth it to try for vegans and non-vegans

Dillon Sailer

Favorite vegan joint, always worth the drive across town.

Nioa

Really good cheese and ice cream! We can't stop talking about it. My brother forgot the menu was all vegan halfway through eating. Philly sandwich was great, but I wish it had more filling.

Alex Quick

So i’m pretty into beef and pork and such. This place has me questioning my meaty ways. Try the “dirty secret” it’s a dead ringer for a big mac (and probably also like a billion calories but whatever cuz its not meat !)

John Foreman

Awesome vegan food. Great brunch menu as well. You will love the atmosphere as much as the delicious food.

Reid Ward

Great vegan restaurant. The only thing I I didn't like was the whole ordering experience. They make you order from a front counter and then you have to find a table yourself which usually includes waiting for someone to leave and then hoping that you get to the table before someone else does.

Benjamin Carpenter

Had the Dirty Secret and it was pretty solid! Nice space. Food came out quickly on a busy night. Wasn’t totally blown away, but I would definitely go back and try something else. A must visit if you are vegan.
