REVIEWS OF Colossal Cafe IN Minnesota

Dee Dacera

Always a great experience at this place. Love their yeast flappers. You'll love it if you like a slightly sour, fluffy and soft pancakes. Their homemade jams are to die for. I always get the cherry jam with sourdough grilled bread. It's not like the sugary sweet commercial jams you get in stores but more of naturally sweet and flavorful/tart jam that compliments the toast rather than overpower it.

Angel Unis

Such an amazing place for breakfast. Literally the freshest food ever and fast service, all around soooo amazing and I will be returning

Michael McGrath

I am looking forward to returning to this establishment. The space is cozy, the employees are all friendly and efficient and the coffee was REAL FINE. My main gripe was the flappers (pancakes). While I think the brandy infusion does them well, they are so oversized and doughy that I was completely put off (colossal is right). They were a burden to finish and they sat in my stomach like a stone. I should have ordered the biscuits and gravy, which looked AMAZING. They have a lot of scrumptious-looking options, so I think I need to go back and try some other dishes out. As it stands, I was not impressed.

Cristaly Mercado

The food here is amazing! I wish they had dinner too. It's like combining the power of a million chef grandmother's and outputting them into food. Every part of a meal or sandwich is made with love from scratch! The dessert options vary a ton. Which can be a bummer if you go in and there isn't something you love, but they always have Good Cinnamon rolls and cookies.

Bryan Armitage

I miss the Standish restaurant, you can not go wrong with Colossal

Don Hankins

Good food, reasonable prices. Good service. I had a Reuben sandwich made with real corned beef brisket and a small garden salad for lunch. It was delicious.

Scott Lucius

best spinach and mushroom omelette I've ever had hash browns were to die for crispy on the outside nice and buttery and warm in the inside

Sonja Super

Small neighborhood restaurant. Every thing made from scratch. Good food. Cinnamon rolls the size of your head.

Debbie Mortensen

Been coming here for years and have been satisfied and impressed every time. The omelets have always been perfectly cooked and the homemade bread, biscuits, and bakery items are fantastic. Only quip is with ordering process where sometimes your food makes it out of the kitchen before you're seated but that's only happened once.

Douglas Albrecht

Elevated diner breakfast food that is definitely worth making this restaurant a destination

Archer Griffin

Solid place for breakfast and lunch. Like the name implies, you won't go hungry here! Lots of options, excellent ingredients and good service all make for a great place to try.

Alex Bienko

I am a big fan of eating breakfast food at all times of the day. Came here for lunch and ordered myself their sausage omelet with a side pancake. It was fantastic! Their homemade buttermilk biscuits were amazing and I was eyeing their cinnamon rolls on my way out. I already know that I will be back for sure!

Barbara Dozetos

Excellent breakfast. They handle a busy restaurant very well.

Michael Dietsche

Wait was a little long (~1HR) but it was brunchtime on a Sunday, so what else would you expect? Highly recommend the pressed portabella sandwich! It absolutely blew my mind.

Adel Al-Dawood

Loved their spinach and mushroom provolone omelet for breakfast. The have a variety of bakery items that I haven't tried but they seem promising.

Israel Brommerich

Love this place for brunch. It’s really busy on the weekends. Their biscuit breakfast sandwiches are delicious and you can’t go wrong with a stack of flappers.

Chris VanHofwegen

Awesome food and service!

Jessica Ennis

Food underseasoned for my taste, but good vegetarian selections.

Ben Robbins

Really really good GF sandwich

Grace

Excellent, kind staff and wonderful food to boot. Big fan of the biscuits they have for breakfast. If they have a special, you best be getting it -- their chefs know what's good!

garth mortensen

Great neighborhood breakfast place. Pretty awesome male waiter who is kind of shy, so sincere. 5/5

Tom Noble

Great neighborhood cafe with all food and baked goods made from scratch in house. Good variety of items with vegetarian and gluten free options. The dining space is smallish and there will be a wait at peak times because the place is popular - for good reason!

Terry Miller

Love this place. We got her most Saturdays. John the owner usually comes and talked with us. He care about his customers. Excellent place for breakfast or lunch. Keep up the good work John and thank you for attentions n to details.

Jim DuCharme

Would have been better but the wait isn't worth it. They should take reservations.

Erik Hannigan

They have amazing biscuits and gravy, and the people are always friendly.

Paul Sedgewick

This place is delicious best breakfast ever

Nii-Akwei Acquaye

Staff here are very accommodating. Food was good.

theDOMINATION1

Had a wonderful time here, we went Saturday brunch time and enjoyed our visit. I had the egg cheddar and bacon sandwich and it was pretty good. The bun was a biscuit, only downside is that it falls apart too easily. Service was good!

Nikki Walker

I love going to colossal for breakfast! The vegetarian biscuits and gravy is amazing (if you’re a fan of mushrooms, which I am!) They even handed out free muffins to people waiting when the line got long! Great service and food in a great location

Erik Johnson

Great lunch spot. Buddy but worth the wait. Wonderfully friendly staff. Excellent scratch prepared food.

Matthew Drewek

Great place. Hands down the best chicken pot pie in the Twin Cities

Kirsten Olson

Great homemade food, reasonably priced. Small space which would be fine if single diners did not take over the few larger tables. Very crowded, even for a mid week lunch when there is construction in front! Service was friendly and fast.

The Perkins

Great food cooked to order, outside seating. Fast service. Order when you walk in, they bring food to table.

David Kisby

Burritos and flappers are amazing. All of the servers are top-notch. The Tinucci's are doing themselves proud.

Terje Henriksen

Nice cafe with realy good food

Holly Taylor

Wonderful food and service!

Mark Tokheim

Had the spinach mushroom and provolone omelette with in-house made bread. Omelette was excellent - bread was fantastic. Wish I could have eaten on the awesome little patio but it was raining.

Marty Langemo

Very friendly! Great service! Excellent food!

Bryan Corbett

Awesome, local breakfast place. Great service, small parking lot across the street and plenty of street parking. The food is delicious and all hand-made. I also really enjoy the coffee. And of course the pastries are darn tasty as well and you get to look at them right when you step in the door.

Diane Seefeldt

Friendly staff, all made from scratch food. Pancakes with walnuts, apples and Brie were great.

Sam Bonnett

This place place is just so yummy! Always packed so get there early!

Holly Burrington

A lovely place for lunch!

david g

Cole Szondy

Really good food!

Jennifer Greeley

The food was good. The colossal cinnamon roll is huge, bring a friend if your getting that!

Steve Sobczak

Great food, hearty servings, great service!

Peter Bedard

Prosciutto and sunny side eggs with pesto hollandaise over bread and hash. Breakfast gold!

Kate Libra

Great food and friendly service.

Dope AF

Very unique and delicious breakfast menu.

Paula Yarmo

Good coffee, big portions, hot on arrival and breakfast lunch menu. I thought slightly $$$, but on occasion will afford it.

Larry Geller

Excellent Cafe with breakfast and other choices. It's very nice

David Belt

Realy good food. Everything is made from scratch and they doing it great. I had the scrambled egg and cheddar. It was an extremely cold and busy morning. Despite of cold temperatures with windchill outdoor, the indoor spirits were high. The staff was very accommodating. You have to order the food at the counter and you have to seat yourself. The quality food arrived promptly. Overall, it was a great 1st time visit.

S P

I’ve tried a couple times to get in here on a Saturday/Sunday but left because of long wait times. I finally got in during the week! But it was just ok. I had the pancakes with sausage patties and my friend had the Korean beef bowl. I might go back but not worth waiting for on a Saturday or Sunday in my opinion.

S M

Great food but limited menu. Plus you have to walk up and order at the counter which is a bit much considering the prices. If anything, their sausage biscuit gravy is really good.

L A

Sooooo yummy!! Sage and bison biscuits and gravy were delicious!!!

gregory seaberg

Great food and friendly service. Lots of simple, from scratch, delicious choices. Both breakfast and lunch are served. The breakfast sandwiches are a great deal. Just be prepared for a wait if you are going later in the day as it is a popular spot with limited seating.

Maria Linn-Evans

Every time my husband and I plan to get brunch, Colossal Cafe is on our list of options. It is always delicious, and I especially love anything that involves their sourdough toast.

Patti Kimble

Excellent. Very good service and food.

Gwen Banister

Amazing biscuits and gravy. BEST pancakes I've ever had. Just really beautiful, delicious honest food.

Mr. Ed Dumblauskas

Food was great, plentiful and able to share. Pancakes were great and filling. Colossal breakfast was great and cooked to order. Come with a appitite and leave with a smile.

Ian Dees

Far and away the best breakfast spot in the Twin Cities. The biscuits, eggs, hash browns, and bacon all taste superb on their own. Very simple food that really stands out.

Enya Hinck

Welcoming atmosphere and great food!

Jesse J Martinez

I never leave reviews. Abysmal service and the apple, walnut Brie pancakes are horrible. the cripsy bacon was pathetic

Ashley Mellgren

Love this place. The food is amazing but there is always a wait on the weekends and they don’t take reservations. It’s a small building so expect people to be around. Staff are friendly!

Lindsay Samelian

Nice staff. Depending on when you come there could be a long wait. The food is good. Had a breakfast sandwich on a flapper. The flapper (pancake) is really bland. I recommend the mimosas, coffee, and pastries.

Mariah Havlicek

Always wonderful experience here. I live across the street and it’s always busy on the weekends, but it’s worth the wait. They also use the app Nowait which is a great way to avoid the wait. Food is always delicious, and they always have specials that have been amazing. The giant cinnamon roll is great to share.

Lowrance Scutts

Went here for breakfast with my mom & daughter on a Saturday late morning. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to your table. The breakfast sandwiches were really tasty! Homemade biscuits java great flavor. We also had the veggie omelette. Only request would have been for a little more cheese in it but it was very good.

Deano McComas

I was craving a good breakfast burrito. This place had good reviews. Well, what I ate was a breakfast burrito in name only. $15 with tip. Light fluffy (poached?) Eggs, two teaspoons of pulled pork, pickle?, white grocery store tortilla and the kicker, light green pesto sauce in a cup on the side. What can I say, except, does anyone know of a place to get a real breakfast burrito, possibly new mexico style??!

M Sanders

Good food, but it is usually always busy so you might have to wait for a table, but it's worth the wait!

Cimm G.

The buttermilk biscuit was delicious. The portions were more than enough. My only complaint was the flapper. It looked yummy and the texture was what I was looking for but the taste was not there. It pretty much tasted like a piece of bread.

Ashley St Sauver

Love this place, A must visit for breakfast if you are in the area. It is no more expensive then a Perkins or equivalent breakfast restaurant with, much, much better food. However, it is open for limited hours and its extremely popular with locals so It can get busy. Plan accordingly. Try the flappers, They are better then any regular pancake I have ever had!

Jeffrey Prottas

Really good food, great service, reasonable prices. I'll definitely go back.

Justin C

Walked in from the neighborhood one morning and asked for a sandwich recommendation. The egg, fresh tomato and feta was delicious and really, very fresh. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere too.

Patience Metal Fabrication

The yeast pancakes are the best!

John Powell

There was a 15 min wait to get seated at 10:45am on a Sunday. I'd say that was pretty darn good considering how excellent the food here is. I had the ham and swiss breakfast sandwich in a biscuit. No possible chance of getting your mouth around this monster. But it was just as delicious with a knife and fork.

Jason Cole

I tend to get breakfast or lunch here when I'm getting my car serviced across the street. Good food and good atmosphere, friendly staff and great location. Right on the 63 bus route as well.

Richard Dongses

One of my favorite breakfast places to go to with a group of friends. Solid food, friendly service, and nice ambiance makes it a winning combo to frequent regularly.

Dan Bonnett

Food is awesome! Friendly staff as well.

Robert Krueger

Huge portions, good food, but pricey.

Melissa Steele

I forgot to take pictures because I was too busy inhaling my delicious chicken sandwich! The side salad is also amazing. My husband had the mac and cheese with bacon and caesar salad...also sooo tasty.

Derk Scholtz

Love this place. Real food. Made there. No wait staff, just line up, order, bring your coffee and number flag to a table. Typically food arrives pretty quickly, even during rush hour. Main problem for me is the space. I like to hang out and chat or read the newspaper. There's often such a long line that I feel obligated to eat and clear out quickly. There is a bar for over-flow, but not my preference. Consequently, I'll only go here during off hours: late weekday mornings, mid PM, etc. If you show up and the line is out the door, you can walk down Como to the Finnish Bistro.

brock waterbury

Awesome scratch breakfast/brunch place. Get there early on sat and sun.

Aleksandra Plewa

The food was incredible. It came out hot and delicious. The portions are very filling. The atmosphere is the perfect brunch type. However, our server (short, blond hair) was not the friendliest. She watched one of our friends drop her utensil on the ground and looked away without offering to get her a new one. The worst was when she brought our check over when we still had food in front of us. As a server myself, that is a huge no as it makes the customer feel rushed. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, the service makes or breaks the experience.

Steve Merwin

Lived up to the hype! Really good breakfast and great service. It's going on my rotation!

Alan Armstrong

The apple, walnut, and brie flappers are always outstanding. Always a great daily special. Can be crowded for Sunday brunch, but they get you in and out quickly.

Ali Bodensteiner

Cute little cafe breakfast place. The atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable, service was very quick, all the food is made from scratch, and the food itself was quite delicious! I tried the apple, walnut, and brie cheese pancakes, which were definitely worth trying if you like cooked apples. My boyfriend tried the biscuits and gravy, which was all homemade and I would recommend if you are looking for something savory. Will be back again!

Ian Allen

Great place for lunch near the St. Paul campus. Prices are a bit higher than other spots nearby, but the food is really tasty and the portions are huge. I got the Cuban sandwich which was perfect. I also love that there’s sparkling water on tap. Somehow, despite working nearby, I had never eaten here but I will definitely be adding this to my list of great lunch spots. Fair warning—it’s quite small and gets busy so might be good to try and plan around the lunch rush.

Ying Lee

Small cute cafe. Great people and delicious food. Down fall in my opinion is that it is a bit pricey. I ordered the breakfast omelet with coffee, husband had breakfast burrito with coffee, and my son had a breakfast burger with a single flapper (pancake) all for $56.xx.

Linda Omark

From scratch cooking, and FAST. Great tasting also.

Lilly Homstad

Amazing! Delicious, quality food and friendly staff. They serve one of the best lattes I've EVER had! Try the bacon jam too, you won't regret it...

Angie Gurung

Great food and atmosphere!!

kara lallman

So good!!!! The pancakes are amazing!

Alex Cabrera

It was pretty tasty food for sure. Friendly ambiance, and nice staff.

Sandi Gohn

Came here from out of town with friends. I really enjoyed the cinnamon roll the best but other than that, this place was just okay. For the hype and long line, I expected something magical-- but it was just okay. Not bad, but just kinda normal. Meh.

Thomas Benning

Very good sourdough breakfast sandwich

Bob Andersen

Great omelet.

Micalie Kempfert

Delicious! Great atmosphere! First picture is the Greek frittata with homemade biscuits, second is the mushroom biscuits and gravy, and finally the sausage omelette with grilled toast - all amazing!

Laurel C.

Best pancakes of my life, and I've had plenty.

Vicki Miller

Huge portions. Can't leave hungry. Nothing particularly special about the food or taste, except the portion size.

Rowan Forrester

Good food at good prices with very good coffee. Friendly staff. Cozy (read "small") interior with tight seating, but worth it. Nestled between a bunch of antique and thrift shops. Great way to spend a few lazy brunch hours.

steve ekbom

Always good food. Sometimes can be hard to find a spot to sit.

Costa Rica Sam

Great food (breakfast) and service.

Andrew Craven

The best biscuits!

Lisa Bowman

Fabulous spot... great food and great service. The cinnamon rolls are so big you need to split it. Fun to share

Rachel Rosebrook

One slight word of warning: you need to be prepared to order from the get go, before you're seated you need to order. This also isn't the kind of place for a slow, leisurely meal - seats are a premium and while you won't be kicked out, you might feel guilty taking too much time. That said, the food is ridiculously good. Well priced too. And the staff were wonderful and attentive.

Benjamin Laux

I've been here and recommend Colossal to people at least 50 times. I usually order pickup and they are very timely, consistent and friendly. The Bacon Egg and Cheddar on a biscuit sandwich is the best breakfast sandwich you'll find.

Tolis Dimopoulos

This is a great neighborhood cafe with a diner feel to it. The food is very good as is the service but pretty much everything on the menu is at least $12, including the lunch sandwiches. For a St. Paul diner, that's a bit much.

Christine Shoemaker

The food here is made from scratch, and with any bite/selection you can immediately tell. I love going here and to their Como location. I absolutely loved their upside down raspberry cake. My, my. I think I inhaled it in about 2 seconds.

KC Boon

One of the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had.

Quinn Enestvedt

Busy, but delicious, with prompt service once seated. We had an ~25min wait but they texted us when our space was ready. We took a nice stroll around the block in the spring sun then waited about 5 minutes on a bench in the nice sunshine (indoor waiting seating was available).

Hannah Lageson

Food is delicious, staff is professional and friendly! Worth every visit!

lastoftheojibwe

Super busy on a Sunday morning, but the food and service were worth the wait.

Isaac Leighton

Great portions, good customer service. Quite fast for the sheer volume of customers when I was eating there. Had a breakfast burrito and it was good.

Parrin Lenander-Tholo

Delicious and busy place! Will definitely be coming back

Sarah Halby

My husband and I love going to this place - we always order far too much food because we can never decide what to get. I love the original location, but this one is much closer to our house. The coffee is great and the staff keeps your cup filled. Their breakfast sandwiches are phenomenal - I highly recommend the homemade buttermilk biscuit, but my husband loves it on a flapper (recommended by Dan, our server this past Saturday). The smoked trout is also a favorite. They have a solid tap list and great macaroons. Honestly, a great neighborhood place.

Rox Lux

Always the best.

Gloria Jeff

The food was good .

Amber Bullock

One of my favorite breakfast places. I brought my son who is 17 and we got WAY too much food but it was all so good we couldn't stop eating. Try the savory scones. Also, the coffee is my favorite.

Casey Wright

Great food. Great service. Food is delicious and good sized portions. The cinnamon rolls are HUGE.

Bryan Young

The pancakes have a really unique flavor to them as described on their menu (I believe it was a special type of yeast and brandy or some combination like that) and I’m so happy I ordered one to try. The omelette was also very good.

Claire McGee

Apple Brie pancakes, my husband and I can split a short stack. These are the best things I've ever eaten for breakfast in my life, and I make specific trips to Colossal Cafe when I am home in Minnesota just for these pancakes, because yes they are worth a flight across the country to eat!!!

Mike Wickmann

Always just ok. Food is a bit overpriced and bland though the menu options are more creative than your traditional diner menu.

kevin stifter

Friendly staff keeping your coffee full. Delicious food.

Ian Hauer

Service was friendly and quick on a Saturday afternoon, and the sandwiches were high quality and fresh! The place was clean (including the restrooms) and other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Erik Grina

Great tasting food in large portions! The Korean Beef Burrito is a MUST TRY!

Aly B

I wanted to love this place. I'm giving it 1 stars for the taste of the food. The service was mediocre at best. There was a very long wait about 30 minutes. I did like that they did have an app and offer to text you when your table was available. It's kind of cozy. And it's pretty noisy. The food to me was probably the worst I've ever had at a restaurant. I was very disappointed.

kim boddy

Walking in, you are met with the smell of fresh, strong coffee (no wimpy brew here). The omelets were large and flavorful. The biscuits were the same, and with homemade flair. We will be back to try the pancakes next!!!

Daniel Hirdler

Love this little joint!

David Kelly

Best biscuits around, and I'm from Texas! Love the pastry counter for a quick snack and a coffee.

Michael Miller

Best breakfast and pancakes around!

Daniel Peterson

Amazing place! Fantastic breakfast staples, creative takes on classics, and holy cow- the pastries! (Best cinnamon roll I've ever had; a steal for $2 as it was a day-old)! Was impressed with my first visit and will be back soon for more!!

Kelly O'Neill

Really tasty breakfast with friendly and helpful staff. Love this place!

Scott

First time eating at Colossal Cafe and we figured from the reviews that it would be a solid choice for breakfast. Sadly nothing about our experience matched up to the hype any of the reviews portrayed. When we asked what the wait time was we were told "it's a short wait" and then once we ordered up front and paid to please take your place card and wait behind the curtain in the back of the building by the restrooms. This "short wait" ended up being 40 minutes. When we were seated the host informed us our food would be along shortly since we had already ordered, but this was the beginning of an additional 30 minute wait. During which we watched 4 tables seated after us being served before us despite our small table of three people. When we did finally get our food the eggs were rubbery, unseasoned, and the breakfast burrito was pooling in grease. All in all a very poor experience for such a highly regarded restaurant.

scp747

After a bad experience soon after it opened we returned. It's better, enough to make us return to try other things - but so far I'm not convinced it's worthy of all the hype.

Eric Mueller

Great unique cafe! The apple Carmel rolls are to die for!

Gene Johnson

We've only been here for breakfast on Sundays and there's always a crowd. This time we opted to sit at the counter so our wait was minimal. Breakfast is one of those meals that if you can't get it right, admit failure and find work elsewhere. Colossal gets it right with reasonably sized portions nicely presented by efficient staff.

Rob Grosser

Absolutely incredible, now easily my favorite place to eat in the Twin Cities by far. Can't beat their prices for an amazing made from scratch meal, delicious coffee, and a beautiful setting to enjoy it all. I honestly can't understand how anyone would give it less than 5 stars. Very friendly staff as well. Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Brian Rappe

Great breakfast

Larry Bevel

Place was very cozy and nice but the biscuit and gravy was not at all up to what im use to coming from the south.

Kelsey Hamil

Colossal Cafe is a great place for breakfast in St. Paul. there's something for everyone from the classic yeast pancakes, giant cinnamon rolls, to the breakfast burrito bowls. All are tasty and the service has always been great! The place fills up quickly though so you'll want to use their app service to wait in line. It's very crowded on weekend mornings.

Sherry Brooks

Helpful staff clean inside clean bathrooms good food

Sam T

The bulgogi breakfast burrito had a nice bite and lots of flavor. I'll be going back.

Kyle Arbuckle

This place is one of the best places to get brunch in Minneapolis. I've been to all three of their locations and the food has been consistently amazing! The prices are reasonable for really high quality food. While you're here, make sure you get a cinnamon roll. They are humongous (or colossal if you prefer). On top of that, they serve truestone coffee which is my favorite roaster in town. TL;DR Come here if you want good coffee and a giant delicious breakfast at a reasonable price!

calebgarn

Great spot and great food... I had lunch, but the breakfast sandwiches are worth changing your zip code for!

Ken Tyborski

Wow, this place is a real gem! Get the pancakes.

Chuck Firquain

Great chicken ceasar salad, need more parking

Nancy V

The ham & eggs Benedict special with apples was amazing! The poached egg was absolutely perfectly cooked. I was super impressed with this dish however my husband had the classic breakfast with pork sausage and that was a big disappointment , the sausage was extremely dry.

Kalliopi Panagi

Customer service wasn’t as good as I was expecting. I ordered the single stack with fresh fruits and maple syrup. The flappers tasted a little weird to me cause I never had puncakes made with yeast. I also didn’t like their maple syrup but their homemade jelly was really good.

Shannon Miller

Delicious breakfast and lunch foods, for a very affordable price. I live in Savage and I drive out once a week to enjoy the amazing food and great service. Highly recommend checking it out.

AvennGed1

Food was wonderful! I had an amazing fish omelette that came with dill cream cheese and it was the best thing I had ever ate! Our waitress was so very nice! Perfect little breakfast place to go with friends!

Stephen Lawson

Very good from scratch breakfast. Massive cinnamon rolls. Lovely service. Reasonable breakfast prices

Kellie Kamm

Best breakfast food! Went there on the 4th- the service was excellent-very friendly! The omelets were delicious with such fresh ingredients! An amazing menu-was hard to choose! Can't wait to go back to try something new! Very generous portions!! The homemade biscuits were amazing!!!!

River Finn

Overrated, overcrowded. Decent food, if you're willing to wait a half hour while getting jostled by strangers and trying not to bump into the baked goods case

Meghan Hatalla

Small space, but delicious food.

Jordan Matt

First time there! We loved it so much. Everything is made from scratch! You gotta have a biscuit...

dawn linnell

Food and service top notch. You pay for what you get.

laura french

Great coffee, friendly servers, delicious breakfast!

Adam Rollin

Went to Colossal Cafe this morning. It was busy, but the staff were efficient and prompt. Hardly any wait. Portions are huge, and most things are packed with unique flavor. We didn't care for our omelets though.

Monique Dargis

Really weird experience at a place I used to love. We two went in for a Friday morning breakfast around 9, sat at the bar. Shortly after we placed our order the manager started complaining from behind the bar about mistakes the staff were making. She was talking to other employees but we could hear everything and really didn't want to! She also counted out large sums of money right next to me, practically encroaching on my eating space, for a good five minutes. The food was not as good as we remember, and the gravy was especially chalky. Worst of all, they got a tad busier and then brought out our check while we were only halfway through our food! They rushed us out of there and didn't seem to care whether we we're finished or not. Never going back to this place I used to rave about.

Doug Topping

Colossal Cafe offers the perfect breakfast if your starving and looking for a good size meal.I biked here on an early Sunday morning and it wasn't too crowded yet. You order at the counter and then take your seat. I had a breakfast sandwich with biscuit, bacon and cheddar. The biscuit was delicious and the portions were huge. I had enough to eat for two meals. The bacon was really soggy though and a little disappointing.

Claire McManmon

Colossal cafe has a great menu that offers sweet and savory items. This time I had the bacon, spinach, cream cheese omelet and was very happy. Friendly staff too :)

Leo Liu

Wait time was acceptable and fantastic food.

Thomas Peschel

Solid food. Made from scratch. No servers really, but the food comes fast and it's a nice small little place to grab very good food. Small menu, but big flavors, really pleased, will be going back.

Sarah Hill

Always delicious, always friendly service! I love the food at this restaurant, and have enjoyed my experience at each of its locations (bummer the Minneapolis one closed). Food portions are ridiculously large - you will definitely have to ask for a box for leftovers at the end of your meal! Their yeast "flappers" (i.e. pancakes) are cakey in sweetness and texture, and they come with real maple syrup on the side. Personally, my favorite dishes are their two vegetarian omelet options. No joke, I have dreams about those omelets when I'm dieting! I suggest going with the grill bread as your side option for the omelets. It reminds me of Texas toast. Also, you have many options of tasty homemade jams to go with your bread side. All in all, Colossal is reliably one of the best breakfast spots in the Twin Cities. People know it, too, hence why you will deal huge crowds on the weekends. Pro tip for crowd-phobes: call ahead for takeout.

Pat Blazick-peterson

Coffee is fabulous, all food choices very tasty. Nice atmosphere. Servers bright, funny and efficient. Great place!

Julie Lexvold

This is a great brunch spot or coffee shop. Their food is incredible, especially their breakfast options. The coffee is tasty and plentiful. They also serve beer and wine. There will be a wait on the weekends but week days are usually pretty easy to find a seat right away.

Kirk Davis

Once again a great breakfast and delicious coffee with friendly and attentive service. Be sure to try the house made sausage. It will not disappoint.

Jill Ressemann

How do you not love this place? The best breakfast food around, made from scratch and with huge portions.

Jeremy Hop

I love their food and space. Great place to gather with friends and family.

Eric Wiederhold

Great little place. Well organized, clean and inviting. The omelettes are tasty, the sandwiches also. Try the nitro infused cold press. Definitely will go back and try their lunch and dinner fare. Easy parking on the weekend.

Andrew Dougherty

Great place to meet people and have a great breakfast or brunch. The portions are veryyy generous but extremely delicious so it's hard to stop eating. Their coffee though isn't the best as it's extremely hot and burnt, I wouldn't recommend it just getting the orange juice.

Danelle Pageler

Good food. Large portions. Great atmosphere for visiting and for meetings. Kind servers!

Oliver Sacks

So we wanted to try something new and were excited to go here as we just never really noticed it tucked into green mill. But we were thoroughly disappointed. Upfront I’ll say the serving staff is great and there are no complaints there. This completely has to do with the quality of the food. The food here is below average. The hamburger patties must be frozen patties and if not, then the cooks are very bad at their job. The buns for the breakfast burger (not sure if they use different buns for different burgers) were sub wonder bread in quality. It honestly seemed like a hamburger a 14 year old boy would make himself if he were home alone for dinner. The food overall was flavorless. My girlfriends breakfast sandwich was made of 2 huge slices of sourdough bread, with feta, giant slice of tomato, scrambled eggs and completely lacked flavor as well. It fell apart as she tried to eat it. If it was cooked well then we wouldn’t care about how poorly constructed it was but nothing was right. The price is normal grand ave diner pricing maybe a bit more for some things but the quality was honestly below Perkins or maybe somewhat equal. Less a quality or major complaint but more of an irritation they don’t have fries as an option with burgers for lunch at least. But it came with a Caesar salad which was the best part of the meal. So I told my girlfriend that we can get a chai to go and a conamon roll and maybe it’s better for that kind of stuff. The chai was the worst chai I have ever had. It was a tiny tiny amount of chai but that’s actually good because drinking too much of this would have been awful. It was like chai flavored water. We have yet to eat the cinnamon roll but I don’t know how they could mess that up so I’m assuming it will be ok. This place can not compete with any diner around it for quality. This was by far the worst diner in the Mac groveland area I’ve ever been to. Which sucks because we really wanted to like the place. But now we will never go back as there was not a redeeming quality in any of the food.

Brian Evans

Great food and better service

Sarah McRoberts

A really solid cafe. It adds perfectly to the small town feeling of the neighborhood.

Miranda Bergs

I try to support local cafes and businesses as much as possible, especially those in my neighborhood and surrounded by the never-ending road construction! I've had the opportunity to dine here twice and most recently had the Flappers, which I wasn't totally wild about. My taste buds might be really off, but my flappers tasted very yeasty and bitter. Husband tried them and liked them though!

Mike Shank

Worth a visit! I had heard so much about these pancakes that I had to try them. They passed with flying colors! Spoiler Alert: They're expensive ($12 for a coffee and one special pancake). But worth it. Credit to the great staff who warned me that they are big and suggested that I start with one. They were absolutely right. If my bride had been with me, we would have shared it. I got the brie, walnuts and maple. It was filling, warm, delicious. I could have used a bit more syrup (just for fun). The coffee was also wonderful, though the regular roast was out a half hour before closing. I liked the counter ordering, serve yourself coffee and the taps and cups for free water and carbonated water (which I really enjoyed). The place is very welcoming, nicely, simply, delightfully decorated (even the men's room) and the staff (the young woman at the register) was personable, friendly and delightful as well. I certainly will be back when in town.

Rachele Kohman

Great service. Delicious food made from scratch. I only wish the Minneapolis location were still around.

Barbara Kelley

Great breakfast and good service. Interesting and appealing menu selections. Would definitely recommend!

Jeff Walberg

Love everything about this place for breakfast. Food, coffee, ambience, service and location are all perfect. I usually order Benedicts when I go out, and the special version I just had at Collosal may have been the best I've eaten anywhere. I don't eat pancakes, but theirs look amazing and are very popular with my college-age son.

Angela McLaughlin

Good stuff! Sad the Grand location closed :(

Heather Bendel

Absolutely love the biscuits and flapjacks. Have consistently great coffee as well.

Ludvig Stone

Great breakfast options! Large pancakes, biscuits and jam are so good. They're known for their massive Cinnamon rolls, you can take home day old ones for cheap! The breakfast burritos I like best as bowls. The omelets are simple, basically eggs folded on top of the ingredients but still tasty. Make sure you go early or save your spot in line because it's not a very big space and they're always busy in the mornings.

Matthew Hale

Food is great but the bakery is insane!

Grace O

Just okay for me. I ordered the pancakes, and I watched them sit under the heating lamp for a solid 8-12 minutes while I sat at the bar. By the time they were served, they were lukewarm at best and a bit chewy. I wanted to love this place–the sparkling water on tap was a nice touch and the staff were kind and welcoming. I enjoyed the atmosphere, but, for the price, I didn't feel it was worth it.

ariel556

Best brunch EVER! The pancakes are to die for and everything is homemade and tastes amazing. It gets busy, though, so make sure you schedule enough time for a meal in case you have to wait for a table.

Alan Ames

Amazing BREAKFAST burritos and so many other dishes! $10 - $15 & $4 Cinnamon roll must have.

David Sullivan-Nightengale

Very similar to their other locations as far as recipes. I recommend getting there early to find parking and to be able to sit down especially on weekends as parking is always a challenge in this neighborhood, but the walk at least is pleasant. They have a good selection of baked goods from croissants to scones and muffins. You'll want to come back to try many of the other foods you didn't try the first time. We wish they had dinner, but they close by mid-afternoon.

Paul Kyser

There are few things better than classic breakafast food and Colossal does it very well. Kids love this place.. they get a wikki stick pack and a great breakfast for $6

Hailey Taylor

Great place for vegan/vegetarian diet. The biscuits are the best as well as service! The wait is usually long (about a half hour) but worth the wait every time. (:

Sarah Shehata

Decided to check this out because it made the top Eaters twin cities list. Cute place. Loved meeting the owner and seeing how much love and care he puts into the place. I enjoyed the atmosphere and seating, cozy home feel to it which I appreciate. I had the mushroom, spinach, provolone omelette and the hubby had the apple, walnut, brie full stack flappers. The omelette had a creamy sauce which was a pleasant treat. Their homemade pineapple habanero sauce definitely has a kick to it and complemented the eggs well. For some reason, and despite all this, it still tasted a bit bland for my taste buds. The flappers are extremely filling. The pancakes are made with yeast, which I'd never tried before. I wouldn't have thought to mix apple with walnuts and brie on a pancake and it is a burst of flavor in your mouth. I enjoyed trying something new and like when places get creative with food. Overall a neat spot to try out.

Sigh

After hearing alot about this place I decided to try it out. If you ever are looking to do brunch. This is the spot.

Susan Mehle

Love the food, forgot how crowded it can get. It is shoulder to shoulder and I am not a fan. But the food is really good.

Robert Ludgate

Love Colossal. Great service. Awesome food

Mike Otten

Their yeast pancakes were great. The prices are decent too and it's a nice location.

Barb Fish

Good food and good service!

Kim Gregg

Very nice place and quite busy on the weekend when I've gone. Staff is on point and very warm and inviting!

Robin Chu

It's just great. Just go.

Ruth Tongen

Fabulous food, nice natural options.

John McHugh

Excellent food and service.

Samantha Noltner

The staff was all so nice and the food was delicious!!!!

Maureen Monhollen

Great coffee, great breakfast, really nice staff. It's a bit crowded, and not accessible, and parking is a challenge, but it's worth a stop.

Jeff Andrews

Always a good breakfast here.

Andrew B

Good menu. Nice and helpful servers that actually enjoy their job and don't give you attitude for asking for more coffee or water. Love the egg and cheese biscuit with siracha sauce and their massive bigger than your face cinnamon rolls. 5 stars highly recommend. Make sure to get their early on the weekends as they usually have a long wait time.

Daniel Leutgeb

I love this place! Quality food all the time. Their sweets are delicious! Comfortable homey vibe and friendly staff.

Devin Smith

Great portion-to-price ratio. The flapper sandwich is excellent. This place can get really busy, so I like taking my order to go. The staff are always incredible accommodating, whether I dine in or pick up my order.

Terry Lampe

Excellent food. We would eat there again in a heartbeat.

Pattie Iverson

Always great food & awesome service!!

Adam Conrad

Parking is a little tricky but not bad if you don't mind a block or two walk. Beautiful location and a great concept for food. Very vegan friendly, but the food was ho-hum. Their pancakes felt very undercooked. The biscuits are their best feature but the breakfast sandwich was all biscuit and was lacking almost any flavor even with their own habanero hot sauce.

Zach Boever

I had the Korean Beef to go. Has a little kick, and lots of flavor. Owner and staff are extremely friendly. I've heard so many good things about their breakfast and I'm excited to come back and check it out!

Pamela Cree

Portions are large. Made from scratch. I can see why they are so busy. I ordered the breakfast sandwich eggs were fluffy but needed seasoning. I also had a Nutella croissant for later. Yummy!

Margaret Janzen

A popular place with fantastic food! Try the butternut squash sandwich - it's so, so good!

Pauline Hiza

Always had good food. Today, sausage was rubbery and not very tasty. Love the biscuits. Took way too long to get our food and had to leave b4 they finished making my decaf. Disappointed today.

River King

I would give it zero stars if I could. Ordered a breakfast burrito and immediately after the first bite wasn't impressed. Shortly after, I got food poisoning. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

chris sheprow

Great food and awesome service.

Jesse Meyer

Food tasted like the cook cut out cardboard and put it on a plate. The only good thing I had was the water. I don’t recommend this place.

David Cebuhar

Food was awesome. Price was great. Employees even better. Plus the coffee is good.

PJ Johnson

This is seriously the perfect breakfast spot! They have a full coffee/espresso and pastry menu as well as a full breakfast and lunch menu serving up scratch made dishes! We have been to other Colossal locations but this is by far our favorite!

Catie C

Colossaly delicious.

Mariana Cerna

something new for me ... and I would love to go back☕

Alicia Sauve

Food was scrumptious and tasty. Clean restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Pricing was reasonable and I received a good amount of food for my money spent. I'd recommend to others and hope to go again one day.

Karen Brill

Fantastic food & service!

Chrissy H

Definitely will go back again so good! Get the house special pork!

Pam D

The food is freshly made and superb. They accommodated our large group quickly and made us feel very welcome.

Soleil Ramirez

Went for brunch!! The menu is fresh and really easy to read, I love it!! Great food, service was on point.

SANDRA BESTLAND

Met several friends for breakfast at the Colossal. Building on Grand Ave very clean and beautifully renovated. Entrance, however, is an automatic sliding door that blends in with the windows making it awkward to find the entrance. I ordered a Scandinavian frittata with a biscuit thinking that the frittata would be tender and the biscuit heavy and hearty. The opposite was true. Though it was morning, they ran out of decaf coffee. If you are a restaurant specializing in breakfast, I think the rule is not to run out of coffee.

Dev Zero

Home made comfort food that will have you coming back back time and time again. Try to pick off times to minimize the wait, but even with a wait the food is well worth it. A rare gem of authentic and amazing food every time you come. I would give them 6 stars if it was an option.

Bijou Kurien

Nice and friendly place. Awesome pancakes and waffles. The eggs were average. Prices were reasonable

Daniel Knutson

Went with a few friends and the food was really good! The GIANT cinnamon rolls were only $4 so we split one as an appetizer and then got to choose from many options. The wait to be seated was the single negative point. After we were seated, though, the staff did an exceptional job. There's a reason is stays busy!

Marcelo Calderón

Breakfast are huge and good.

Christian Abbott

Super busy. Took time to get seated. Good food, pancakes left a little to be desired.

Eric Krebs

Had great interactions for a service. And the food was delicious and colossal.

Paul Salzer

Great spot. Always busy. Breakfast sandwich is where it's at. Although they seemed to have decreased the size of the sausages. They used to be colossal, now they are just small. Be prepared to wait for a seat.

Brian Ruehle

The biscuits and gravy was amazing! The homemade biscuits are definitely all they're cracked up to be!

Randy Bey

The pork and bison sage biscuits and gravy is to die for, and so filling!

Maureen Johnson

Trendy, tasty, tight! I have loved the food every time we visit this place, the service is excellent, but it is a small venue. They make it worth the wait!

Tommy Handwerk

Far and away the best Biscuits and Gravy I've ever had!

Anna D.

Small but so LOVELY! We arrived for lunch and were greeted warmly--our order was taken, and we were encouraged to grab mugs of coffee and sit at a small bar area while we waited for a clean table. We were seated in less than 10 minutes, and enjoyed yeasted (yes!) pancakes with fresh berries that were amazing and I realized that one pancake was very filling! I would never have found this place except a friend recommended it and I will be definitely returning again!

Jay Manx

Busy place. Good brunch meals. There was a long line when we came but it kept moving and the servers are friendly.

Dj DuFrene

Great breakfast, brunch and lunch spot with good beverages (coffee, tap beer, tea) and delicious sandwiches!

lil flip

Best resteraunt in saint paul. Mac and cheese is so liquidy and cheesy. cheers!

Mary Lee

Very good service! Great coffee!

Ben Willenbring

I love Colossal Cafe. It has become my 'usual' breakfast place.

Becka Irving

Was very crowded but for a reason! Quick and friendly, and the food was great!

Bergen Nelson

Fantastic place for incredible, wholesome food. I cannot get enough of the pancakes!

Sean McDermott

The best pancakes that we have ever eaten. Service was a bit slow, but is a wonderful place to chillax.

Christina Knudson

Such good food. I love the biscuits and the self-serve coffee setup.

Alex Hughes

Good service, really good food. A great place for breakfast or lunch. Make sure you give yourself an extra 15 minutes or call ahead, they seem to always be busy and there is typically a wait

Courtney Ives

Colossal is my favorite. The biscuits are magical, love the yeasty pancakes, the hashbrowns are fluffy. There's usually a wait, but it's for a reason!

dawn m. armfield

Small, but worth the wait. All party members must be present to be seated. First come first served for tables. Excellent food. I had the reuben with caesar salad and it was wonderful.

Chelsea Breza-Berndt

This place has some unique items on the menu which we really enjoyed. A bit of a wait which was fine, although people tend to crowd the doorway. It would be a great idea if they came around with coffee or something while you waited!

shelia henderson

Good breakfast everything from scratch

Asbah Hadi

Yummy. Their biscuits are large and filling. Got the one with egg and cheese. They have a nice selection of baked goods as well for your sweet tooth.

Kristina Bereznyak

We loved this cafe. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you. The coffee is also self serve and is very very good. I had their eggs with hash browns and bacon. Do not skip the biscuit, it is to die for. My husband had their biscuits and gravy and loved it also. We got our kids Mac and cheese and a peanut butter jelly sandwich. Let me just say they were definitely not average. Very good. The kids meal comes with an assortment of fruit. The service was friendly. We got our food very fast and it was super delicious.

Thomas Olsen

Love this little place, it has great food and is a nice get away. Tired of breakfast I ordered a sandwich and that was delicious as well. Enjoy the pastries, they are outstanding

Elizabeth Shafto

Best pancakes in the Twin Cities!! No joke. If you are a breakfast lover, you’ve got try their “flappers”. The density and texture of their yeast-based pancakes is like nothing I’ve ever had. Love. Also...they offer REAL maple syrup!! Not that “breakfast corn syrup” nonsense. Can I give an additional star just for that?!

Gail Cain

Best yeast pancakes and great coffee!

Emrah Kadric

Great place for breakfast. Big portions. Great price

Michael von Fange

Easily the best breakfast burrito in the Twin Cities... bold statement, I know, but it has a perfect balance of amazing ingredients, eggs, seasoned pork, pickled onions, cheese and some potato wedges. All topped with the best green salsa. Also it’s in a super cozy neighborhood and has great service.

Edward Andrada

Went for Sunday lunch with my cousin and her husband. Impressive food! Will return with my wife. She will love it!

Paulette Molina

It's a good place to grab a quick bite. I prefer the Mpls location, same menu but the atmosphere is more relaxed plus they have servers there. Excellent service and food.

Grant Schoen

Came for breakfast, had the Chicken & waffles (special) & a pancake. Delicious food & very friendly wait-staff! Will be back. Note that you order at the counter, then you are seated. If there is a wait, there is a small waiting area in the back & they will come & get you once your table is ready. It was very busy when we were there, but only had to wait 5min or so. Got to sip on some coffee & they even offered free muffins while we were waiting!

basafer

We had eggs benedict special and pork shoulder. Amazing food and atmosphere was comfortable and just what we were wanting. Coffee was also great but wish my stomach were large enough to try that amazing looking cinnamon roll.

Melissa Olson

I really wish I could give this cafe more stars. It is a very cute cafe in a friendly, comforting atmosphere. We were there at brunch time and it took us about 45 minutes to be seated. However they did come around with mini muffins to those that were waiting which was really nice. One of our glasses had to be sent back because it was covered with lipstick; they got us a new one without issue. Food wasn't our favorite but good! Staff was very friendly.

Rebecca Burkhart

Could this place be more amazing? Staff is personable and friendly. The food is fast and delish - both breakfast and lunch. We used to live a few blocks away and enjoyed our weekend tradition of frequenting the Grand Ave location. The patio welcomes dogs, which is a huge perk for us. Once we had our daughter, it was the first place I felt comfortable taking her to - very kid friendly. With all that being said, if you plan to come on the weekend after 8:30 AM, I'd recommend using the app Nowait to check the current wait and put your name on the list. It's an easy to use app and helps us to go in with "eyes wide open" on the wait time. The place is good, and it's not a secret, so come early or be prepared to wait a bit during the breakfast rush. I'll repeat, it IS worth the wait.

Alexander Tullipso

I love coming here on the weekends even though the line can be quite long, it is worth the wait. A lot of locally sourced food and a friendly staff!!

Kaye Mills

THE BEST breakfast and lunch option is here. so so so so good.

Alexandria Rick

The food was pretty good but the service wasn't. They got our order wrong and then when I went up for a takeaway box the girl ignored me for a few minutes and then practically lobbed it at me. I don't think we'll be back. Even though it's tasty, I don't need that kind of attitude in the morning.

Mike Modrow

The food was good I didn't like the set up(the way you place your order and pay first)

Amy Taylor

This small space makes delicious homemade food. There is not much for seating so stopping during non-peak hours is best. Breakfasts are great but I really love their sandwiches and baked goods.

Roy Roen

Great food and service. It's a small place but the line goes quickly. And they have outdoor seating in the summer.

Danie B

Their food is so good. It's all made from scratch and it's all fresh. Their coffee and baked goods are also outstanding. Wait times are crazy though and there really isn't a good spot to stand while you wait for your table.

c barrel

Great place for brunch! Had an amazing pancake plate. The menu is creative and has good options. Mocha was very good. Yes, as others note, it's busy and you'll have to wait but I hesitate to dock a place because it's busy... I'd say it's definitely worth the wait once! There are lots of good brunch options though so, I'm sure you can find something similar with less wait for your next brunch ;)

Jennifer Lenander

I absolutely love Colossal. This has been my favorite breakfast place for years! I usually order the egg, ham, and swiss sandwich, and then my husband and I always share one flapjack (which is like nothing you have ever had before). On our most recent visit we had the eggs benedict, which was absolutely delicious. I have always told others, always order something with ham in it at Colossal because it is always tasty. This held true for the eggs benedict. I would have taken a picture but we ate it too fast! Oh, the bakery items are heavenly as well. I've never had something I don't like.

Kate Wolfe

Kimchi, beef, a poached egg and rice has never tasted so delicious in case you need a reason to visit Colossal Cafe

Timothy R. Church

Excellent brunch and lunch menu. Cafeteria style service with great staff. Be sure to pick up a bake-at-home chicken pot pie for dinner.

Carey Goedel

Food was awesome. Great small place for a filling meal.

Chad Kohlmeyer

Wonderful breakfast and environment.

Saurabh Limaye

Waited for about 30 minutes on a Saturday morning - got a blueberry muffin during the wait. I ordered some coffee, an omelet, and a pancake on the side. The food was great and the portions were huge!

Kayla Warner

I love coming here with my parents when they visit. It's usually a long line, out the door, for weekend brunch and you have to stand on your toes to see the menu so you're prepared to order, but once you do and you have a table, the food is always fantastic!

Andrew Wold

The smoked trout Cobb salad was the best thing I've had in a long time.

Richard Sharp

I know people love this place, and i really want to love it too. I always try whenever i visit.

Jeff Horwich

Great place, aside from the wait -- which stems from the fact that it's a great place (and there aren't enough similar alternatives right nearby). Almost everything yummy. Cinnamon rolls are incredible. I do just want to leave a note about the chai latte... which is evidently their own in-house mix, but just isn't very good. Suggest a tweak to the formula if they want to bill that as something special.

Zane Winders

Great food and atmosphere. A bit pricey but that's the only negative!

Kira Severy-Hoven

New and fun foods for a great time out!

Shelly Payne

It gets busy here, so be prepared for that. You can save your place in line using the app available on their website. Great food and service. Some inventive dishes. The vegan in our group found something to eat on the menu, but check the online menu if you have concerns about diet.

Milan Gandhi

Amazing food. Tight seating. Amazing food though.

Jessica

Cute place and great food. Will definitely go back again.

Paul Daniel Rodriguez

The best biscuits in the metro. They're massive and delicious. From sandwiches to biscuits and gravy, they're everywhere. Also, the pork shoulder breakfast burrito was incredible along with the strawberry mimosas. Seriously, one of my favorite brunch places.

Bart Volkmann

Pork Shoulder for Breakfast, YUMMY.

Kayla Perry

Real maple syrup and very friendly service!

Eric Gustafson

They do only a few menu items and they do them well. We've been there twice in the last week, the wait can be a little long but the wait is worth it.

Igor Paploski

Nice comfort food! Great place

Ben Bauer

Kinda small place, but the plates are colossal, and the taste is the same.. Amazing.. Awesome coffee, biscuits, strawberry jam.. Flapper I hear are really good, haven't gotten myself yet..

David Comstock

This is a cute cafe in a peaceful St. Paul neighborhood. Not ideal for large parties.

Angi Desp

Love their food, every time we go it's great. The grilled bread and fresh biscuits are to die for. It's almost always busy, but you can be seated much quicker with the No Wait app. Highly recommend!

Peter Goodwin

Great atmosphere with awesome food. Staff was friendly and welcoming and service was fast.

Sonja Richardson

Food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Mat Johnson

First timers, vacationers to the city...Service was great and super friendly, atmosphere was cozy, and the food was delicious. Everything seemed made from scratch, including the delicious biscuits and jams!! Definitely recommend for a good breakfast or brunch for sure.

Correy Barnes

I very much enjoyed the food the price is high, but I really did enjoy the food, expect to wait and expect to be uncomfortable if you stay as the place is tiny and there is not much room, wait staff is fine. Silverware and dishes are oldish and stained. The breakfast burrito was very good. The drinks were good the cinnamon rolls are huge. Overall a good but not great experience

Marc Radinzel

Always a good option for consistently delicious food. I can't recall a time when this place wasn't busy. This visit was no exception. Even though they are always busy the wait for food is never that long. We will be back!

Rose And

Pork shoulder breakfast burrito. So good!

Kevin D

I hadn't heard of this place until a friend brought me here, and it's incredible. Portions are very aesthetically pleasing, and are very filling. The pancakes have yeast in them, which gives an incredible flavor. Definitely worth the visit!

Barbara Ulman

Visited the one in ST PAUL. Good food but can become crowded. Great Gultan Bread. Did make a stop again when I was in area to eat. Took home a loaf of bread. Tried omelet was a bit spendy. They had homemade jelly and pastry. Look forward to going again sometime when I am in the area.GF. Bread.

Peter Seitz

This place is my go-to spot after working a long overnight shift! Literally everything on the menu is amazing, but the pork shoulder breakfast burrito is my favorite! The staff are so wonderful and helpful, and for you fellow night shifters, won't give you a funny look when you order a beer (a rotating selection of local craft beers) at 8 AM. Probably my favorite restaurant in the world!

WF

Unique menu selections, great value for the money. However, if you downsized the prices, and portions, I don't believe the obese people in this World would mind ( myself included).

lisa bowman

Love this place!!! Always great service! Food is always good too! Huge cinnamon rolls are fabulous to share between 2 people!!

Riley Haynes

Great menu, great staff, and great flavors!

Callie Nimmo

Best cinnamon rolls ever...hands down!

JESSE MORALES

Moderate prices coupled with colossal portions! Good food and very pleasant atmosphere...

Sarah Thoreson

I guess if you like pancakes, this is the place to go. I don't like pancakes, and I have to say the rest of their menu is fine but nothing to rave about. I do wish the non-pancake part of the breakfast menu was more interesting. The service is always excellent, without fail. I'd give five stars for service and 3 stars for the food, so we'll settle in the middle with 4.

Jessica Geffre

Apple, brie, walnut pancakes were amazing. Nice little dinner great food.

Michael Alford

This place never lets us down. The biscuits are great, then portions are huge and the service is really good.
