The best coffee shop i ve ever been. feels better than home to meetup with friends or study/work, very cozy. I liked the small room for interest groups meetups. Went there everytime i needed a quite place and a warm coffee that smells well.
Great service, great coffee, great baked goods, and a nice atmosphere!
The home of coffee and leisure
Lovely coffee shop with comfy chairs and window seats. Pretty lighting and plants! Such a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy coffee and a pastry. And there's wifi!
This is an adorable coffeehouse on the first floor of a residential house. Good music and small cozy atmosphere.
One of my all time favorite coffee shops. VEGAN FRIENDLY!! Extremely cozy and comfortable. Unique drinks and food. Great lighting. Somewhere that feels great to meet with colleagues or friends, or spend time alone being productive or relaxing. The best coffeshop near the UMN definitely. My favorite drinks (I always love chai) have been the golden milk and lavender tea latte, and vegan gingerbread and a vegan orange and chocolate muffin.
Incredibly inviting baristas, coffee is tasty, atmosphere is perfectly low-key (full of conversation and calming music). 10/10 would recommend
Nice coffee shop with plenty of sitting area and board games to entertain with.
Fantastic, amazing, delicious coffee! I had the quiche which was also great. Spent about how much I would for breakfast at Starbucks or Caribou. Great local business!
Espresso drinks are too expensive. Good atmosphere, good music, and close to campus. (Can get clogged with students on laptops)
Super cozy and really cool decor. Drinks are a bit overpriced.
50 cent coffee refill is the best
I always go in here feeling like I should be speaking another language. It's quaint and European, and they do host several language speaking groups throughout the week! Check it out!
Ordered an Americano and it's quite tasty! The atmosphere here is great as well. Very pleasant cafe!
Great place to meet up with friends and relax. A very cozy place with lots of comfy seating.
Nice coffeeshop, one of the best in this part of town. Coffee was good, prices were fair, staff was average. Prepare to park on the street, possibly pretty far away.
The only place in Dinkytown area with good espresso. Awesome staff and great ambiance/vibe.
Nice little coffee shop by the University of Minnesota. Worth a shot if you are in and around
Wonderful staff, wonderful coffee, wonderful atmosphere. Highly recommend it for studying, meetings, or just hanging out!
Excellent coffee, friendly staff, and interesting drink specials. I like the homey mix of furniture and the various rooms.
Great local coffee shop in an old home. Try the honey lavender latte.
Try the London fog! Will not regret.
This is a quiet-yet-lively, roomy and elegant space. I love the variety of seating arrangement, small tables and chairs, comfortable armchairs, bigger couches. Electric outlets. Large windows. One space is semi detached with a large work table for groups studying or meeting. Delicious hot chocolate. Beautiful cups. The atmosphere and the space are my favorites. It's also very close to a University of Minnesota campus so it's a nice crowd, too.
Had good tea but was filled to the max to where I could hardly find a place to sit. All the tables were very close together and so it felt a bit claustrophobic.
They ALWAYS have WiFi issues
One of my favorite parts of campus. It is a hidden gem on campus.
Really great, unique atmosphere and good coffee.
Great studying area, great food, great staff.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Local artist work for sale on the walls. Great coffee in a convenient location.
A little pricey, but the coffee is good. Baked goods are decent but not amazing. Has great atmosphere
Best place for a chill study hangout spot. Very friendly and genuine baristas with an inviting atmosphere.
An okay place to study with decent atmosphere, good service, and pretty good beverages.
This place is lovely and has excellent coffee!
Such a cozy and charming little coffee shop! The baristas and bakers are friendly and talented! The ambiance is perfect for studying or a small meeting. There is a small library room that can be reserved ahead of time. (Psst... get there early before all the baked goods sell out!)
Amazing service, great location. Free WiFi. A little noisy at times, but still a fine place to study/grab coffee.
The staff are wonderful, the setting is cozy, the coffee is done right, and all of their baked goods are delicious. It is the only place I've been where the vegan options are just as good as everything else. Gem!
Great studying area, great food, great staff.
Cozy little coffee shop tucked into a renovated fraternity house. Good selection of homemade baked goods, paired with unique and tasty drink specials. Minus the star for being closed on the weekends.
Fantastic local reprieve from the thicket of Dinkytown chain coffee shops. Old fraternity vibes make for a cozy and quirky study and hangout spot. Coffee, smoothies, hot chocolate and treats are all quality to boot.
Very cool place for me to chill and have a cup of coffee. Me and my friends come here everyday during summer to get coffee between class and we enjoyed our time here! Nice staffs, looks really cool inside. Sometimes crowded but pretty sure you will get a seat easily.
Had a delicious iced americano. The espresso was great. Good atmosphere too. Very cozy.
Everything is great.. the only problem is that wi-fi is often interrupted.
Get your coffee and go. Fast service.
Not skimping on air conditioning, very comfortable temperature. Super comfortable seating, lots of room.
Friendly staff, relaxing vibe
Never had a bad experience here over the years. It can get loud when it's full, but it's the patrons, not the music. Good muffins, better coffee.
Lovely ambiance
Good coffee, great vibe, not often too packed, fine place to study and induce caffeine.
I enjoy getting coffee here if I know I'll be up late that night. Its a great place to study with other people, the enviornment is very relaxing.
The best place to drink coffee and the best place for an off campus chat. Staff are friendly and efficient. Parking is a nightmare, although a pricey campus garage is close at hand.
By far my favorite cafe of the many that I went to while visiting Minneapolis. Extremely cozy, tasty bakery stuff, good drinks, wall outlets if you need them. I'd come here all the time if I could.
Very friendly staff. Comfortable atmosphere. Local artist work for sale on the walls. Great coffee in a convenient location.
The apple scone was delicious but the cappuccino was undrinkable. I took one sip and couldn't drink anymore. Plenty of tables if you just need a place to work. Beware the espresso drinks though.
Great atmosphere, great coffee, and always an eclectic selection of music!
The staff was very rude to me and it ruined my experience there.
Great atmosphere
Great study spot!
Lovely space, great coffee. 11/10
Really cute and has great coffee. I just didnt see a gluten free and dairy free option for bakery items.
Discovering this quaint little cafe was like discovering a secret wonderland. Cozy setting with great service. Loved their hot ghiraldelli chocolate.
Serves true stone coffee. Very cozy. Could use a nice deep cleaning.
this is place is cozy, perfect for low-key study dates and meetings. there are plenty of dietary options for drinks, and a limited selection of bakery items if you end up coming hungry. the layout is unique and homey, it’s quite a gem for its size and location. staff are friendly and conversational, service is timely, there is wifi and plenty of outlets for those with electronics. i got a lot of writing (typing) done here for my undergrad, and i’ll always come back to re-experience that level of productivity. parking can be dicey, especially on busy nights on the university campus, so come prepared to hunt down a good street spot.
Lovely space, great coffee. 11/10
Great atmosphere and pretty good lattes! Good place to do work, read or study. Welcoming, friendly staff
Great coffee and bakery
Blah coffee. Rude barista.
The staff here is consistently sweet, with magnificent coffee and treats to boot. I come here several times a week, and I adore it.
Busy spot with impressive coffee. Today was my first time there and it most definitely is a hotspot
Typically fun staff, excellent service, and very good lattes. A nice atmosphere for a meet up, or solo gig.
Would totally be my joint if I lived in Minneapolis. And was ten years younger.
Cozy coffee shop with a relaxed vibe located near campus offering a great selection of coffee and a variety of light food.
Mmmmmm....yah-what everyone already said about this place. My problems were which hot bevie I wanted & to enjoy it inside or outside. The only problem was a full bicycle stand (which is REALLY a great problem to have - sigh*)
Very darling little place, quiet, wonderful atmosphere, and most importantly: stellar coffee.
A funky college coffee house with comfy seating, good food, and a fun atmosphere.
Really cute and has great coffee. I just didnt see a gluten free and dairy free option for bakery items.
Discovering this quaint little cafe was like discovering a secret wonderland. Cozy setting with great service. Loved their hot ghiraldelli chocolate.
Great service, vegan chocolate muffin!
Love the coffee and smoothies here. Atmosphere is wonderful and a good place to go for meetings.
Right on campus. That's convenient. Coffee was pretty good, and the setup is cozy.
Great food, great staff, really nice home-away-from-home feel. I highly recommend it and everyone I talk to that has been here say they love it! They also have ethically sourced coffee.
Good blueberry muffin
Charming environment and the baristas are very talented and friendly! Will be returning!
I'm surprised not to see more reviews about the obvious mouse infestation in this coffeehouse. I literally had a mouse run across my foot. I went and told the barista who was very apologetic and explained that they had told management multiple times and they still had done nothing about the issue. I will not be returning even though I used to go there for coffee almost every day. I feel like it can't be hygenic to order food and drinks in a place with a rodent problem.
I've spent most of my graduate school working from this awesome cafe. In my opinion, this is one of the best coffeeshops in town, perfect for casual meetings or working.
Wonderful place to study and meet a friend for coffee! Very cozy homey atmosphere probably because this hidden gem of a coffee shop used to be a sorority house! Plenty of seating and study groups can reserve the library table for meetings. My favorite place to sit is by the original fireplace. Local art displayed on the walls as well which supports local artists and adds bonus points!!!
I walked in here with a group of friends after a basketball game at Williams Arena and found myself in a cute, quaint, comfy coffeeshop filled with comfy couches, unique rooms and very nice people! The idea behind remodeling a retired frat house into a coffee shop is a great idea and the whole place is rather cute. Drinks were good as well
Absolute coziness!! Cappuccino and banana bread very good. The lady at the counter, smiling and cute!
Cozy atmosphere, good selection of games, comfortable and varied furniture, wide selection of tasty and things to eat
Great atmosphere that's always cozy, warm, and homey. Library room can be reserved anytime for a private group meeting - my group has found this space the perfect size and very comfortable with couches, a table, and even board games. I had one poorly-made cappuccino, but every other drink or bakery item I've ordered has been delicious.
Scones. I'm sayin'.
This place has a fun atmosphere. Perfect for hanging out and deep discussion
Cozy atmospher and nice coffee
Great atmosphere
Awesome ambience
Had a great little coffee date here.
dat quiche tho. mmmm.

Very friendly staff and great coffee and atmosphere.
Service was alright but coffee was great definitely more of a grab and sits to the enjoy coffee shop not grab and go.
Kinda sucks
Small coffee shop only open on weekdays. Very cozy and quiet!
The baked goods are incredible. I love the scones and could eat their chocolate chip cookies for days. They know what they are doing with their coffee - my favorite is their honey cardamom latte. Awesome atmosphere - cozy lighting and plants everywhere. Best place on campus for students, professors, or anyone who loves great coffee.
Gives off a typical college coffee shop vibe . Based on the U of M campus it rightfully should . I ordered a mocha and it was up in a jiff . The lady behind the cou ter was very polite and the coffee was 7/10 ( not my kind of roast) nothing against her :)

Very cozy and cute place and good food!
This coffeeshop is present in a older building that looks somewhat like an old fraternity housing, with actual greek life houses near by, on the edge of University of Minnesota. Not very large inside, or as neatly kept as spyhouse, but it has it own unique character inside. Yoyng professionals, professors, and students make up the customers.
Absolute coziness!! Cappuccino and banana bread very good. The lady at the counter, smiling and cute!
Good coffee and awesome soups.
Such a peaceful atmosphere! Great for studying, and I love that you can reserve the "library" room for a group. It is going to quickly become a favorite place to be.
Not to be confused with the epic trading destination from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, Bartertown (run by Master Blaster, obviously), this converted mansion has multiple levels of seating for groups small and large. The coffee is strong. The tea is hot. The service is excellent. The only thing keeping me from giving Boardertown five stars is that every once and a while, when school at the nearby University of Minnesota is not in session, the coffee shop will be unexpectedly closed because someone didn't show up for the early shift.
Great service and tasty drinks make the long line understandable during mid-morning rushes. The interior seemed a bit dark, but there is lots of seating, both inside and out.
Great little coffee shop in Dinkytown set in a nice house, very comfy.
Great lunch! The baker is the BEST
A college coffeeshop with everything you would expect.
I used to love this place, but under its new management the quality of service seems to have seriously deteriorated. I place no blame on the baristas, who have remained pleasant and kind as Bordertown obviously struggles. Recently in particular, I have noticed a huge shift in the welcoming atmosphere Bordertown used to have. The gender neutral pronoun sign for the baristas seems to have "disappeared" as have the instructions on recyclables and compostables, which I thought were a lovely touch to the business. It's so disappointing to see such a neat place lose all of its charm and as a Christian the increasing lack of acceptance and environmental awareness is startling to me. Additionally, within the last month or so the entire espresso machine broke down, which I was super disappointed by. I hope this place can recapture some of its old magic, but I won't hold my breath.
Restaurant was relatively quiet.
