REVIEWS OF Angry Catfish Bicycle and Coffee Bar IN Minnesota

I recently had my Ibis Ripley in for a complete service at Angry Catfish after two pretty hard years of riding. I bought it online so I hadn't built a relationship with a local bike shop to service the bike. A friend mentioned Angry Catfish to me so I gave it a shot. From when I first walked in the door they were stoked to work on the bike. They didn't care where I bought it from and just wanted to help me out. I told them to bring it back to like-new condition and quiet as possible so they went to work! The bike spent just about two months there and when I got it back it was perfect. Their attention to detail is what was so cool. They even optimized my cable management just because. I also blew a seal in my dropper post that was out of warranty and they went to war for me. They sent it to KS and got it covered under warranty at no cost to me. I'm sure they can't always pull this off but they sure will try. If you're looking for a place to service your bike and are wondering if a professional mechanic is better than the 'bike shop' in your basement...well... yes it is and it's not even close!

Sergio Rendon

Great spot to get some work done and about good bike routes. Good selection of Surley bikes and good coffee.

Anthony Steyermark

Excellent bike shop, top notch service, and best cappuccino and chai in town. Great, relaxed atmosphere.

Matthew Bossart

Delicious snacks for human and bike alike! Very nice staff

Thaddeus Burget

Great bikes, great coffee, even better people

Kristopher Koch

Wow. I've never gone to a bike shop and been met with such bike fit expertise. The staff was friendly and dedicated a lot of time to helping me.

DJ W

Love this place!!! Two of my favorite things ❤️ The shop is full of great items to purchase, all great quality! The staff is super friendly. And the coffee, the coffee is fantastic! Overall... you need to come here and check the wonderful vibe for yourself!!!

Jilly Fish

Tea selection is very good. Great atmosphere for sitting by youself or meeting a friend. Bike shop attached is awesome. I'll be coming back here.

Ian Danielson

Great smoked sea salt mocha!

Garrett Woetzel

I love this place. Coffee here weekly and bikes once every few years. Andrew in sales is the man — knowledgeable and friendly!!

Aaron Wilson

This place is great! Everyone was super friendly, and it had a real charming and cozy vibe. Definitely a place I would be willing to spend my time and my money.

Mark Sele

Best cappuccino I’ve ever had. Baristas are friendly and make a great coffee. Bike staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Jeremy Brunner

Great concept. Cool space. Good coffee.

Joel Abrahamson

Top-notch coffee from Intelligentsia and Ruby, good teas, and you can get donuts and baked goods from Baker's Wife next door!

Josh Matushin

Super good coffee and tea. I wish the tea was a bit stronger, but it was good quality and still well brewed. The bike gear is definitely higher-end, so don't go to shop if you're not very enthusiastic about biking.

Bailey Hanson

This place has awesome bikes, gear and drink, but also amazing service. Jason spent a lot of time listening to my biking needs and assessing my riding form to get me the best fit. Thanks Jason!

Zack Gill

I do like this place and think it serves probably the highest level of quality bikes and parts for the Twin Cities. That being said, as someone who didn't grow up with parents who biked and has been only seriously biking for 5-6 years, I still haven't felt comfortable in the shop after my 4 or 5 visits. I make 45 grand a year, don't get any pro deals, and I've always gotten the feeling that if you're not ready to drop an easy 2 grand on a bike, it's not the place for you. Definitely an elitist vibe, but it is fun to gawk to bikes and gear I can't afford.

justin holl

I haven't tried out the cafe but have stopped in to the bike shop a couple of times for parts. They have a wide selection and the staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. Some items seem to be available from behind the counter only so don't hesitate to ask someone for help.

Jonathan Wilson

This place has created a cool little community in the combination bike shop and java spot. When I entered there were people sitting in a circle on comfy couches talking about an upcoming bike race. The equipment was pretty high end and the staff was chill. Overall a solid spot.

William Bennett

Have stopped by several times now, to have coffee and kick the tires on the new bikes. Found the proprietors friendly although not outgoing. They let you look without following you around repeatedly asking, "Can I help you find something?". Pleasure to visit so I decided to have them do the much needed overhaul of my road bike, which they finished earlier than promised and the bike performed flawlessly on the next days metric century. Very satisfied with the work done and felt the prices were fair. Although not a connoisseur of fine coffee I do drink a lot thereof and their's is quite good. Didn't find my being 60+ a factor, it's a bike shop with good coffee!

Will Hebert

I have been saying it for years, but this is the best shop in the TC. Perfectly extracted espresso every time.

Brandon Wold

This place is awesome! Great selection of unique bike brands and a great little coffee cafe. Definitely worth checking out!

Matt Johnson

Great coffee!

Joe Huber

Another fantastic third wave coffee shop in Minneapolis. They carry Intelligentsia Coffee, from Chicago, and Ruby Coffee from Wisconsin. Unlike some other third wave coffee shops, Angry Catfish exclusively offers pour over coffee on top of other espresso drinks. They often use Harios to brew their coffee, but I've heard that sometimes they use the siphon method. Anchor is pretty unique in that it is also a bike shop so sometimes it feels like there's two different customer bases. If you're interested in picking up some great coffee home brewing equipment, Angry Catfish offers a good selection - (hint it's towards the right of the store behind the chairs, a little hard to find). My only complaint about this place is that it is probably one of the most expensive coffee shops in Minneapolis. I completely understand the third wave, slow coffee movement, but when two coffees are almost $8 together, it can be a bit much. I would be more understanding if the coffee carried were from Blue Bottle Coffee or other West Coast retailers, which 1) you can't hardly find in Minneapolis and 2) you pay the price of their location there. Granted Intelligentsia is located in pricey Chicago, but I think there are other great coffeeshops to make your regular spot. Coffee enthusiasts though should not pace this place up, it is an important coffeeshop within the burgeoning third wave coffee scene here and I've always had a great time and even better cup of coffee.

Bought a bike from Erik's at the beginning of the season-- fine experience, nothing bad to say about them. However, the internal wiring from the factory was crisscrossed resulting in some shifting issues (which I never would have figured out on my own). Before heading out for a long ride, I brought it in for some guidance. The bike tech immediately discovered the issue, was about to send me back to Erik's to have the issue addressed under my warranty, but then proceeded to correct it on his own, in addition to truing a few other components that only a professional would know to do. Additionally, he gave me some excellent advice on changing road bike tires with a demonstration. He then sent me on my way, charging me only for the supplies I bought (bike bag and patch kit). He was clearly busy with other bikes but took the time to fit my bike in knowing I wanted to go ride, and he did it without attitude or acting inconvenienced. Now the bike rides better than when I first bought it! I have never been to a bike shop (or retail store of any kind) with a more knowledgable, friendly, and informative staff-- this place is tops! They have my loyalty, hands down. And the coffee is fantastic! Thanks for the positive experience, ACF crew!

Shawn Reynolds

I was between buying a bike here and at the hub. I ended up getting the bike here. I felt like I was much more at home and treated a lot better. The guys at the shop were more than helpful to get me on bikes and answer all my questions. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get a bike. I ended up with a beautiful All City Macho Man to ride!

Scott Sutherland

Good strong coffee!

David Mendolia

I have been here several times and always enjoyed it. I really like the Coffee Shop / Bike Shop vibe created by the fusion of the two businesses.

Brent Perreault

Good coffee, hip atmosphere, nice tables including high-tops at the window. The bike shop has average service and unwelcoming prices. The hip atmosphere can also feel a little unwelcoming. Good bike parking and some outdoor seating.

Annie Gerard

The bike shop is great. The staff is very devoted to cycling and will really help you out with questions or concerns. On the other hand, the coffee shop has got a pretentious vibe. I go there because the coffee is great, but the baristas are cold. If you want to meet some friendly people in the cycling community, I wouldn't go there.

Kerry O'Neill

Great coffee, great bikes and service. What else do you need?

FanLand Man

It really and truly is a coffee shop and a bike shop at the same time pretty creative setup

Sergio Rendon

Great spot to get some work done and about good bike routes. Good selection of Surley bikes and good coffee.

Marshall Skare

Great products, friendly staff who are knowledgeable and coffee!

Brett Johnson

A fine place, love the bike shop part of it!

Nick Cross

Patio Pal was excellent! Everyone loved their drink and the great atmosphere of a bike shop.

Liam Smyth

My favorite spot in the Twin Cities for coffee and all things bike related. They have a solid selection of gear and bikes and every time I come in I get to chat with a knowledgeable staff member who always makes me feel welcome. The cortado is spot on btw! I stopped in today to scope out an All-City bike and got to talk with Stephen. I told him I was just window shopping and it was obvious he was very busy working on a large order they just got in. He knew I was not trying to buy something at the moment and he still took the time to talk about the pros and cons of different bikes in the category I am looking at. He never made me feel rushed for a second. I feel like everyone here really cares about the work they put out and stand behind the products they sell. If you are willing to spend more on quality higher-end bikes, this is your shop and your people.

Ben Cross

Great group of people and a massive selection of cycling gear you don't always get the chance to see or try in person at most shops. Amazing nitro cold brew.

Brave Crow

Angry Catfish was like my second home when I lived in the neighborhood. The coffee is excellent (even according to my very very picky barista wife). They usually get a sea salt mocha. I usually drink the cold brew (often too fast because it is so tasty). Their seasonal drinks are fun. Their pour overs are done with the precision of a chemist. The staff is always super kind and friendly (and so stylish might i add)(even the bike staff actually, just remembered they adjusted my handlebars for free when i took a spill and got them out of whack and my tool was too short for my stem.) They have punch cards which a thrifty guy like me LOVES. Cute dogs on the patio in the warm times. I wish I still lived in walking distance. I miss it so much.

Eric Bohjanen

I'm not esoteric or hipster enough to know the nuances in phenomenal coffee. But these guys/gals are. And they will abhor that they were labeled as such. But they'll get over it because...ya know.....good review and all. Oh yeah.....what else do facial hair aficionados dig? Bikes!! Love seeing the frames of Surleys while a sip some roasties. One day...might even be able to afford one. Playing Charlie Parr in the background gave it the fifth star. Good job Angrys!!

David Siegfried

I bought a mountain bike at Angry Catfish over going to one of the larger local chains and I'm glad I did. Stephen was great - he listened to what I was looking for and helped me find a bike that fit by riding style and budget. The level of service provided was first class and the shop was without pretension. This place is what local bike shops are about.

Michael Lehmkuhl

Angry Catfish, how do I love thee, let me count the ways... Outstanding coffee, outstanding bikes, outstanding expertise in both, and damn fine people at both counters. If you haven’t visited, you are absolutely missing out.

Nicole Steil

I love this place for many reasons. The coffee and espresso is consistently delicious. AND they have loyalty cards-which is not very common in the Twin Cities (that I've found at least). Also, they serve some bakery from the Baker's Wife (which is a cash only establishment), so when you want a delicious cookie-but don't have cash-you can go to Angry Catfish and grab a delicious coffee AND cookie! Plus they feature a variety of beautiful bikes and some local merchandise.

Alexa

Staff is super friendly, coffee is incredible. Pretty ambiance and great for work/studying. Would HIGHLY recommend!!

Bill L

Rude coffee staff. Mediocre product. Plenty of other places with a good product and hospitality.

Michael Sande

I dont know why I even bother to call other shops that have tech who always seemed so confused with simple part replacement or repair. Everytime I call these guys, they know exactly what part I'm referring to and how to get it! Best techs around.

David Hayes

Brought in my bike to get worked on. They did an excellent job. I like that they don't have tune up 'packages' when you might not need all of that work done and instead do a good job on what needs to be done.

Dylan Nelson

I went here in search of my first "nice" bike. They helped me through the entire process, let me ride anything I wanted, and showed me the benefits and differences of all of their different models and brands at a variety of price points. Every single person I spoke with and worked with was friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. After a couple visits I ended up picking out my dream bike. I will definitely be back for service and any other needs. I have yet to try the coffee but I hear it's great! Highly - highly - recommended.

Alex Odden

Always consistent with their coffee, love the atmosphere, and my Vaya is still going strong.

Daniel Lough

Always spectacular service. Best coffee in mpls. Always great conversation about bike life and the community. Highly recommended.

Zachary Fenhaus

I live near by, and whenever I need a good latte, this is where I go. The quality is great and people on the coffee end really know their stuff. I've never needed any bike service, but it appears that the quality of merchandize is top notch.

Bill L

Rude coffee staff. Mediocre product. Plenty of other places with a good product and hospitality.

David Hong

I was looking for hands on instruction in using S & S couplers including taking apart and reassembling pretty much the whole bike. I got some extremely helpful and valuable training from Alex, who showed me how to take apart and reassemble the bike when using an S & S travel case. He was patient and made sure I understood how to do everything to ensure the the bike would be safe to ride. Alex has a specialty in this area because he installs S & S couplers in frames that he makes himself. So great to have a resource like this locally. Angry Catfish rocks!

Matt Uhlman

This is quite the fun little spot with an eclectic mix of caffeine and bikes! I must say it's the first time I've seen these two together, but here it really works. The coffee shop is where we did the majority of our chillaxing. My little guy had a hot chocolate which he felt was up to par and I had a new beverage I hadn't tried in some time - a smoked sea salt mocha. The drink was excellent! Just enough smoke to keep your mouth guessing a bit but matched well with the sweetness of the chocolate and the bitterness of the espresso. A well thought out drink indeed. Plenty of seating including some bar stools, a number of couches and plush chairs, plus standard seating. Free wifi and plenty of writers making sure others see it. Fun spot and worth checking out.

Benjamin Smethurst

Awesome shop. Local vibes serving local roasts and a great selection of bike parts too.

George FelixFlightServices

As someone who seeks out neighborhood coffee hangouts I will say this is a good one. Don’t let the connected bike shop scare you away. The coffee was fantastic if a little high priced. The help were truly helpful and kind. People were chill and WiFi worked well. Bathrooms clean and tidy. Enjoy!

Luke Schleif

Best bike shop in town!

Joe Mayo

Overpriced lukewarm espresso served in a paper cup. Staff was very rude. And based on the grossly inaccurate and spiteful response from the owner, I would add that this coffee bar is poorly managed and not customer centric. Nevertheless, thank you kindly for the refund, that's the only thing you got right!

Pavel Ushakov

Bring back Angelino! Bring back Angelino! Angelino was a delicious cold coffee drink that they used to serve, and it was replaced with something that I wouldn't want to try again...!

Hunter Baugh

Often when I go to coffeeshops they burn my tea. Most places just use their 150+ degree water on green or white tea. But The Angry Catfish? Not. One. Damn. Time. Amazing.

Erik Laing

Great coffee shop and a bike shop of dedicated staff and cyclists. Not as much for the casual rider or recreational rider as for anyone who loves to ride.

Mary Anne Birai

Great atmosphere, really friendly people, overall really great place to just go and relax or get some work done. Loved it here!

Christine Nervig

Visiting from out of town and loved this shop! Great service, knowledgeable staff, huge selection of both bikes and accessories. I’ll definitely be back!

Amadeo Sturla

What an enigma: Here we have a bike shop that carries some very high end brands and caters to those looking to build their "dream bikes" but is completely devoid of the typical snobbery. At the same time they have customer service and sales that rival any "mom and pop" place. Service staff are top notch. I have never encountered a pushy sales person here and they are all very knowledgeable generally use the products they sell. They cafe is equally impressive. Highly recommended. Without question my favorite bike shop in the twin cities and of my favorites nation wide.

Erica Krumm

I checked out this space for the first time this week and thought it was awesome! I had really great coffee and everyone working was warm. The only thing I would suggest is one diaper changing table or counter in a bathroom, please.

Craig Nichols

They almost always have what I'm looking for at this shop and have always offered great service.

Daniel Kragthorpe

Great coffee and baked goods. Amazing and beautiful bicycles, good clothing options switched out seasonally.Friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Fair pricing on repairs and parts too. Thomas the mechanic has helped work his magic numerous times over the years on my bikes, always honest and straightforward with what is or is not needed. Very nice place to grab a coffee or service any bicycle related needs, or to purchase a new toy. I would reccomend to anyone.

Sarah Shekhar

Good coffee, great atmosphere, lovely people

Michael Sande

I dont know why I even bother to call other shops that have tech who always seemed so confused with simple part replacement or repair. Everytime I call these guys, they know exactly what part I'm referring to and how to get it! Best techs around.

Santi F

These guys were really helpful. Very informative and not condescending at all. There was a slight snafu when I came to pick up the new bike. However, they more than made it right. They went above and beyond really. Yep, it's an Indy bike shop in Mel's so there are hipsters galore. But, pretty much every hipster I have ever met has been genuinely nice. Don't let that stop you from coming in. They are nice. The coffee is excellent t too.

tracy taylor

Great advice from the bike guys. Knowledgeable and low pressure. Plus great coffee. What more could a guy ask for?

Claire Tenscher

My bike shop of choice in the twin cities. Even if I don't know something about my bike, the staff at Angry Catfish always make me feel like it's no big deal. They provide great service and give you a quote up front. I brought my bike in because it was making a weird noise, only to realize as I handed it over that I hadn't checked something really obvious and simple. The mechanic fixed it with a smile and didn't charge me. Maybe a little more expensive than some? It's worth it to me.

Stephen Clark

Stewards of really delicious brews and functional, aesthetic excellence when it comes to two-wheeled art. This space and place is a well tended garden, full of flowers for sale from gardeners like the growers of Rapha.cc gear.

Jason Schmidt

Great coffee, and the vanilla molasses latte is the best latte around.

Andres Moreno

Excellent coffee coupled with top-notch bike sales and service. Highly recommended, especially if looking at QBP brands.

David Hayes

Brought in my bike to get worked on. They did an excellent job. I like that they don't have tune up 'packages' when you might not need all of that work done and instead do a good job on what needs to be done.

Melissa Adkins

Angry Catfish uses Intelligentsia for their espresso and it makes their lattes AMAZING! One of the best I’ve had in the cities. If you’re looking for a great latte and quirky atmosphere, it’s a great place to go.

Austin Miller

I've never used the bike shop at all but their Coffee shop is hands down the best in the twin cities!! My go to is the maple cardamom latte, I would highly suggest you try it if you haven't already!! This is my and my girlfriends favorite place to get coffee!! Great coffee, great service, and a really cool atmosphere!!

Mona B

The cardamom maple latte was really good. The place has a great vibe... Bicycle shop as well.. they sell roasted coffee beans too

Gene Lew

Great range of clothing parts and bikes

Jon Roloff

YEAH! Was what I heard yelled from a lady on a couch when her Americana was ready. Laughter from the staff and people walking in saying they're glad to be here again. I know I will come back after finding out they are tax inclusive; no Stoopid pennies and odd numbers on your bill. Thanks Angry Catfish!

Adam -

I did not like how I was treated there. I had an issue with my bike and the person helping was not helpful or friendly. I eventually got what information I needed to help me solve the problem on my own but the condescending down talk will prevent me from coming back. Plenty of other amazing bike shops around town with amazing people working for me to come back.

Joshua Kaminski

Great shop! Great coffee! Pour over available upon request. Cortado made perfectly

Jeff Henkemeyer

The staff is outstanding and the depth of product is expansive. The knowledge and passion for bikes is felt and expressed by all. I shop here, get all of bike repairs done here and even work remotely here at times. The coffee is my favorite in the city. Each of the baristas are friendly and answer questions with a smile. They have even walked me through proper grind size and tamping for my at home espresso making. Great people all around! ACF is my happy place.

Sarah Her

My husband bikes so I come here to drink coffee. I was disappointed that they replaced the Canadian with Cabin Vibes. Bring the Canadian back! :)

Jacob L.

OMG! Their coffee is PHENOMENAL! I will pop in every time I m driving by.

David Giefer

My favorite bike shop, knowledgeable and very helpful staff. They go out of their way to make sure your bike is right. The shop can get busy but that's because service is so excellent. They always take time to listen and get you setup right. If they don't have a part in stock they will order it and many times they'll have it in the same day. I highly recommend their cold press on nitro as well. I feel very lucky to have ACF in our neighborhood. Support your local bike shop!

Jon McDonald

A great neighborhood hub. Comfortable café in a unique setting.

Bj H

Great cold press and even better service. Thanks!

Patrick Weber

Delicious coffee, friendly service, and quality bike products.

Rod Dirks

Great coffee and kombucha. Nitro is available. Nice bike shop as well.

Howard Patchin

Great coffee. Top notch gear. Excellent service.

Mark Gilbert

Still loving the Salsa bike I bought at Angry Catfish. I enjoyed shopping for a bike, and they took the time to set it up just right for me.

Anne Peterson

It doesn't matter if I'm going for coffee or getting maintenance done on my bike. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and professional. I've been a repeat customer since they opened.

Kellie Riley

Had a small bike tire for a stroller that I was struggling with changing the inner tube and they got it done while I enjoyed an amazing coffee!! The coffee drinks are SO good. Service on both sides is amazing.

Jesus Iniguez

Angry Catfish is beautiful inside and out. The people are fantastic and the coffee is delicious. A Minnesota gem.

Roy Hefley

Loved it. Interior was very stylish and the baristas were very nice, courteous and helpful. I tried a cup of vaccum brewed Ethiopian coffee and it was phenomenal! Im from IA but Id absolutely go out of my way to stop here next time Im in the city.

Peter Wierzba

Amazing cup of coffee, the staff could be friendlier though, they aren't rude, more they just aren't ones to strike up conversation with. overall good and unique experience

Andrew Balfour

Excellent coffee, but a short menu. Bikes seem more upscale and catered to smaller demographic.

Chris Haar

Always amazing coffee and atmosphere. If you love coffee, you need to check it out. The bike and accessory selection is also top shelf. Employees are very knowledgeable and courteous. Get there!

Melissa Adkins

Angry Catfish uses Intelligentsia for their espresso and it makes their lattes AMAZING! One of the best I’ve had in the cities. If you’re looking for a great latte and quirky atmosphere, it’s a great place to go.

Dillon Bedney

Love this place. Best coffee around! Love the atmosphere, too!

Zst Nn

Everybody keeps talking about the cth coffee which is yummy I get it. But when it comes to bike repairs they are the best. I have been to six other bike shops which all took my money but did not fix it. TAC took less money and less time Awesome right?

Austin Miller

I've never used the bike shop at all but their Coffee shop is hands down the best in the twin cities!! My go to is the maple cardamom latte, I would highly suggest you try it if you haven't already!! This is my and my girlfriends favorite place to get coffee!! Great coffee, great service, and a really cool atmosphere!!

Nicole Townsend

Not only are staff here all bike experts, willing and excited to talk you through your bike dreams, but they also serve awesome coffee. What a great business.

Jonathon Lacher

They are active in the community. I've attended seminars they've hosted on winter biking, and bike law. Both times, individuals knowledgeable on these areas spoke.

Conrad Lawson

Cool atmosphere. Expensive clothing & gear, but good people.

G. N. Stacey

Love it! Super fancy/artistic drinks and great bikes

KL Wong

Great coffee in a neighborhood of good food

cellodubin

There are only two places in town to get coffee this good, this lovingly brewed. You can come here, to South Minneapolis, or you can go downtown to Northern Coffeeworks. Either way it's absolutely incredible coffee and wonderful service. And it is consistent! Quality and service! It doesn't matter which barista makes your coffee because ALL of them DO IT RIGHT.

K Herold

Love this place. Great coffee and cookies. The bike mechanics are very friendly and knowledgable. I'll be back.

Douglas Erickson

I can comment on coffee, but not bikes. Really good coffee, staff not very friendly. Not looking to be greeted like Norm, just lose the sneer. That said, eventually, I'll buy a bike from ACF (still saving up)

audrey lala

Be prepared to wait and you won't be disappointed. These coffees are truly hipster crafted masterpieces. Be good to the sweet baby angel baristas, tip them!

Renee Voyce

Love it! Customer service was wonderful!

Jason Grey

One of the top 3 coffee shops in the twin cities. They have high quality beans, high quality equipment, and they take their time. Not a huge amount of seating inside though.

Chris Romans

Best coffee and bikes in the TCs by a lot!

Peter Dykstra

Best coffee shop in the area, with high quality bikes and service

Judith Feist

Always an awesome experience. Wonderful people work here.

Michelle

Best coffee, best espressso, best cold brew ever. Very top notch, similar quality to Kopplins in STP

Jason Goldberg

Nice bike shop. Good place to get coffee.

Katie Haas

The best customer service! Spent a ton of time with me 1:1, helping me find just the right bike. Never pressure to overspend. A great experience!

Mona B

The cardamom maple latte was really good. The place has a great vibe... Bicycle shop as well.. they sell roasted coffee beans too

Chad Parrish

My favorite coffee shop in the cities. Consistent espresso that is carefully prepared, served right and fantastic. My wife who is not a coffee person enjoys both the hot chocolate and tea.

William Dohman

Brought my mtb in because of squealing breaks. $500 later, my rotors still squeal like banshees.

Brooke Davis

They'll have all of the newest bikes and equipment. Great coffee. Family friendly

Jeffrey Cai

Great local cafe and very good selection of bicyclist for the enthusiast

Ryan Anderson

Great coffee, super staff, awesome bikes.

Sam Chagani

The coffee, the bikes and the bearded staff. You guys are solid and you drink good coffee and pedal sweet bikes. Cheers!

Rick Potts

I was in the market for a bike this year. I went here having just moved to S. Mpls. I wanted to buy a new bike. Cash. Knew what I wanted. But for the life of me I couldn't get waited on. I lot of gabbing with customers, but apparently I didn't look upscale enough. I did notice there is a lot of good stuff there. I didn't fit the mold of a wanna be hipster driving up in a BMW is all I can think. I ended up walking out disappointed 20 minutes later and had another shop order up the bike I wanted. Actually ended up buying 2 bikes this year. Sad because this shop is less then a mile from where I live.

Peder Swendsrud

Great coffee and nice bicycle shop and repair shop as well.

Bob Kellin

This place is awesome. Their coffee is fantastic, the showroom/shop area is a bike nerd's dream, and their service is beyond compare. Story time: I purchased an All-City frame from Angry Catfish and several weeks after I picked it up (and much deliberation) I felt that I needed to go one-size larger than what I had ordered. I had opened the frame for several weeks and did not expect them to refund or swap me at this point. I was there one day looking at bikes one day and merely mentioned my frame size dilemma expecting no help and they offered (not me asking) to swap me for a larger size no questions asked. It is important to consider that I have had the frame for several weeks and that All City was sold out of the 55cm frames and had to wait for another shipment. Instead of making me wait, they offered to strip the only 55cm they had on their show floor to swap me. I walked in 3 days later and walked out with the frame size I wanted. This place far exceeded my expectations for service and I will continue to use them for all my bike needs.

Jim

Great coffee! Bikes are amazing too. Best in the Twin Cities.

Dave Bellis

Great bike shop/ coffee combo. Their drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is what I desire in a coffee shop. Getting a drink and wandering bike gear is a plus.

Awesome bike shop! Coolest selection of bikes and gear that I have ever seen. Staff is helpful and friendly. I highly recommend shopping here for any of your bike needs.

Donovan Gentlebread

Best espresso in Minneapolis (probably Minnesota as a whole too).

Alex Zacher

Easily one of the best bike shops in the country. Phenomenal selection, impeccably curated, and the staff is nothing short of world class. This is the shop standard by which all local bike shops should be judged.

Bryan Jones

Great coffee and some nice bike parts. Nice atmosphere, despite feeling a bit pretentious.

Andrew Reitz

Very helpful staff. Friendly and knowledgeable.

Jason Hedlund

Super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly staff working the bike and coffee shop! James is a great bike fitter!!

Jared Wick

Really good coffee in a neighborhood that has few options for coffee. Quirky atmosphere with the bike shop in the back. Plenty of space to sit and work if the smell of bike tires doesn't put you off. Consistently friendly service.

Corwin Amyx

Walked in at 9 minutes to close and they still took a look at my bike and fixed the most pressing problem, as well as giving me some advice on preventing the problem in the future.

I’ve loved this coffee/bike shop for years now! Best drinks in town! My 11 year old and I like to do an eight mile loop bicycle ride where Angry Catfish is our halfway mark. We get Donuts from Bakers Wife next door and drinks from the Catfish. The current staff of Baristas are always friendly even if it’s very busy. If I’m wandering the sales floor waiting for my drink, every one working the bike side of things are also friendly and ask if I need assistance. Y’all can keep my free coffee or just surprise a random person with a free one. I’m very happy to give my money to a very rad local business! Y’all deserve it!

Tim Costello

Best mocha in town - Wonderful / Knowledgable Staff. Terrific cycling staff and first rate equipment and service.

Eric Olson

Most knowledgeable bike guys out there. Thomas makes the best wheels... Parker will find the best bike for you.

Adam / Phoenix

Great source for bike touring and bikepacking gear! Also, FYI to the bike mechanics— the Relevate Designs Feed Bag does, in fact, have a button at the bottom! Not just a rivet as we suspected! So cool! Thanks again friends.

Samantha Schertner

Always friendly baristas and delicious coffee EVERYTIME!! "My morning heros!"

Joaquin Munoz

I only went for the coffee, and it was damn tasty! I ordered the Americano which was a modest 3.75. It was incredibly tasty. It might be one of the only Americanos I could and would drink straight, no cream or sugar. Super good. Nice atmosphere, peaceful couches to sit on, and hood table space. I was worried about the noise of the bike repair nearby, but it was not an issue at all for me. Come check it out!

I witnessed the best customer service I've ever seen from a bike shop pro last night at Angry Catfish. Parker was so very helpful to my friend who had been thinking and over thinking his new bike purchase for months. He had tons of questions on pretty much everything for me for months and luckily Parker and I agreed on pretty much everything :) as well. Now my friend is very happy. The attention to detail and the genuine sincerity will go a very long way for my buddy who is finally converting from roadie to more adventurous riding styles. Good stuff guys keep it up. Not my usual LBS because where I live and Chuck and Max at Behind Bars give me the appropriate levels of grief most the time but I was and am very very impressed.

Martha Palm

Great tea. Interesting atmosphere. Everything really good, but they need an awning to keep the sun off you for much of the seating

Nick Wivinus

Awesome coffee and bike shop. Super friendly and knowledgeable, great atmosphere and quality products. Highly recommend. Very happy with my most recent purchase, a salsa woodsmoke! Unbelievable price on it and set up perfectly! I've shopped dozens of bike shops and this one is a favorite, they know their stuff.

David Lundeen

A cup of warm, fairly weak black coffee costs $3.50 here. If they're charging that much for coffe, imagine how much you're being ripped off when it comes to buying a bicycle. Basically, it's a safe zone for yuppies and hipsters to feel like they're important.

Mario Pinto

A mix of 2 different smells coffee and ruber tires, the coffee shop is unique, Lounge style and good looking coffee cups, coffee was good and the bike shop was clean with a good variety of soft music.

Quality is great, but opening time at is too late..

Arbor Otalora-Fadner

This place is for you if you like gawking at gorgeous bikes while sipping ultra-trend coffee. It's a beautiful and expensive experience.

Bike Shop Quality - 5/5 Bike Shop Service - 5/5 Coffee Shop Quality - 5/5 Coffee Shop Service - 2/5 Bike/Coffee Prices - $$$$$ (but also top notch) Overall a great spot, but some of the most condescending cooler-than-thou baristas I've ever encountered. Everything from being wrong and snotty about drinks ("large cappuccino? oookay and we're going to call that a 'latte'" - nope!) to passive-aggressively serving my order from the opposite side of the bar and calling it out when I'm the only person there [because I brought it back to ask for a few ice cubes]. All of the coffee is excellent and some of the baristas are great, but being a total wad seems to be encouraged. Portlandia, eat your heart out.

Lizzie Ellen

Absolutely fantastic coffee, and the staff was really kind and helpful. We visited from Colorado and can’t wait to go back one day!! & wear my Angry Catfish proudly, as does my bike mechanic partner.

tessa silver

good coffee. good place to work on a laptop. oh, and there's some bike stuff too. ;)

Jordon Meyer

Great coffee bar with some Midwest favorite roasts available for purchase. Amazing bike shop and bike repair are part of the cafe. It's a very cool place. Next to one of the best bakeries in Minneapolis, too! Hop next door to Baker's Wife.

J Anderson

Great coffee, great bikes.

Todd Myra

Don't know anything about the bikes but the cappuccino is amazing!

Jeremy Bjork

James in the bike shop was a pleasure to work with. Very knowledgeable and friendly!

Jason Wolf

Good coffee and a staff that knows AND lives bikes.

Joey Sikorski

I’ve had great customer service on multiple occasions and I haven’t even been in the store! Dave V helped source a small that no one else had and shipped it right out. He then on another occasion, took care of one of my customers who flew into the area. We shipped her bike out to the store and he took care of getting her TT bike re assembled for her training camp she went to. 6 stars from me

I stopped in at Angry Catfish to test ride a hard to find bike while in MPLS for the weekend, not really planning on buying that day. Parker was so immensely helpful and invested in making sure I got a good fit, that I ended up coming back the next day to swap out some stems and bought the bike, which I've been very happy with since. When I told my local shop that I'd been working with that I found a bike, they asked where. I told the tech that I got a bike at Angry Catfish, and he replied that it's one of the best shops in the country and his personal favorite. I don't doubt it one bit. My local shop was very kind and helpful, but Parker and Angry Catfish offered by far the best service I've ever experienced at a bike shop (or possibly anywhere for that matter). I'm not and experienced cyclist, but I always felt comfortable and free to ask questions (none of the snobbery that I've seen in other similarly equipped shops). A great place with kind people and solid products.

I bought a bike here and had great service. They brew the quality Intelligence beans phenomenally. And the treats from the next door bakers wife are great too. I invent reasons to be in the neighborhood frequently so I can pop by here. One of my favorite places for coffee.
