Great place, atmosphere and ambiance, but the service is horrible. This is the second time this has happened. In both cases waiter was rude even before sitting down, and wants to get you out of there as soon as he's served you by bringing the check... And the place is empty. Too bad it has good potential.

Everything is amazing here. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is all prepared with care. The food is flavor packed plus they are able to serve beer and wine now. Go check them out. A definite must in BHam

I was denied service for having a service dog with me today. The owner blamed everyone, including the city and the health department for why he would not serve me. Even after explaining that the ADA is very clear that it overrules local health code he refused to serve me and told me to take it up with the health department. I won't be going back, not that I can since I rely on my service dog to survive.

Very authentic Italian cafe. European portions are just right. Food is prepared with care and a personal touch. The sweet dishes are flavorful and rich in texture.

Highly recommend this cafe. Reason for 4 star is they no longer make some of my favorites and they run out of my favorites quickly. But the cakes/pastry is made in house and outstanding. You might want to take advantage of the nail salon next door owned by the same couple and have the waiter serve you whilst you get a (mani) pedi. While the experience of pampering is great the nail salon is not up with the best in metro. Decent but nothing extraordinary.

A high quality, lovely French/Italian style cafe in Birmingham. Was PLEASANTLY surprised to see ORGANIC milk offered as a choice! This is a big deal for B'ham. As usual, Birmingham lacks progressive choices in cafe's and foods, but this is a great start. Will be trying dinner there soon.

The ambiance was great. It's maybe the only thing I payed for that I was satisfied with. We ordered three coffees, 2 cappuccinos and a latte. We received 3 cappuccinos, a latte isn't supposed to have any foam. Mine did. We did not try the food, perhaps that may have been redeeming. However, the desserts were also surprisingly sweet and did not complement the coffee. Perhaps it was an off day. However, the server was friendly and looked after us well.

My wife and I walked in there to get seated. I went to the rest room while she waited to be sat. There was a line for the restroom so I waited. After approx 6 minutes I come back to find out my wife's waiting outside. She tried to get sat but stood there for five full minutes while every worker in the restaurant walked past her not saying a word nor even looking at her. Finally she stopped someone and they said we didn't seat you because you were talking to someone. 1. Why would her talking to anyone have anything to do with not seating her??? and 2. Can you tell me who she was talking to? There was no one to talk to!!! I was in the rest room and she was alone!! Finally after the employee addressed her and lied to her, they said that you can't drink coffee outside. What a HORRIBLE experience we had here, and we didn't even get sat. Will NEVER attempt to come here again. Thanks for nothing.

Went to this restaurant today and had a shockingly bad experience. We first waited over 45+ minutes for the food to come. We were given bread baskets very, very late into our wait-- and the bread itself was very cold. From this 45+ minute wait, the food was very plain, stale, and not worth the wait. The quality, for the price, was way too low. One of us ordered a salad (as her only vegan option)-- it just a bunch of lettuce on her plate with very little olive oil on top. When she asked for some balsamic dressing, the waitress said she would have to pay $2.50 to add this dressing. Basically the only thing that could have made the lettuce a salad. Two of us ordered pasta and ravoli-- the pasta was stiff and there was little meat sauce. The ravioli was also hard. The overall experience was frustrating.

We stopped by for some coffee and possibly some treats. We loved everything but this lady, who gave us like a "what do you want, you Asians" look as we tried to find a table inside. We were offended by this woman, but didn't say anything (gave her some space cuz she might have been busy and had a long rough night) and just took our seat as she chin-pointed. I hatevto say this, but it seemed that non-privileded people are unwelcomed there, which made me give this shop a three-star despite its excellence in food/drink quality.

Great crepes and pizzas Edit: used to have 5 stars on here before they cut their portions in half for the same price. Got a smoked salmom croissant, basically all cream cheese with a single paper thin slice of salmon. My mocha was still really good though.

Very cool place for small eats and coffee related beverage. The atmosphere feel like you are in a small cafe in France, very nice decor and the staff is friendly. I recommend the salmon croissant and hot chocolate.

Had dinner at La Strada tonight. It was our first time there. The food was hit or miss. The bruscetta, soup and pizza were really good. The pasta with truffle cream sauce was mediocre and the pasta with pomodoro sauce was horrendous. No flavor at all. Service was slow and average. Dessert was good. Overall the restaurant is overpriced for the service and food we received. But I would potentially recommend it for a coffee and dessert.

La Strada Dolci is a great place to have dinner or just dessert. They have great service and nice place to sit 2-5 people. Their Italian cheesecake is incredibly delicious! I also enjoyed their pizza. It's also located in a nice area that's not to crowded. Enjoy!

I wanted to get a Saturday lunch after my hairdresser appointment next door. It was 11:20. They said they do brunch only until noon, which is usually a combination of breakfast and lunch. Not here! I was in the mood for spaghetti, but for that I would need wait until noon. "Brunch" was basically toast with jams, and mostly sweet crepes. I wanted neither. They offered me salads or 3 different paninis. I opted for the panini, but that wasn't what I came for. I won't frequent this place anynore because of that.
