**Update: Shortly after this review, the owner appeared and seemed to be educating the staff on proper foaming technique. Very impressive. Obviously very well managed and great pride in ownership. Review increased to 5 Star given this exemplary display of ownership. **
Popped in for breakfast as we live locally and relish a morning walk for fresh coffee. First, may I mention that we had speedy, friendly service from both the barista and chef. Food was explained in detail and service was very prompt. On to the drinks. Her “Black Iron Iced Latte” was very good (iced brew with honey and cinnamon); well priced for the pour. I had a cappuccino; the draw was a bit earthy but full-bodied nonetheless (I think it may have been a Sumatran roast, albeit not my favorite, but alas that is a personal matter). The milk foam density fell upon delivery, but that may have been due to the relative youth of the machine’s calibration. The high point of our visit was our culinary selection; a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast wrap on a tomato and basil tortilla. Through the use of a poblano breakfast gravy, flavor was richly layered throughout the pillows of freshly cooked egg and generous chunks of sausage that gave hints of sage. Large portion too, enough for my wife and I to split. All in all, we look forward to our next trip in. The fifth star could easily be gained from this novice critic through the improvement of the milk foam. Again, excellent service, exceptionally clean environment, fantastic food and drink, and a wonderful addition to a downtown scape that was lacking in coffee competition.
