REVIEWS OF Starving Artist Creperie and Cafe IN Massachusetts

Jamie Hopkins

It was okay. Service was fast and the food was good. We ordered two crepes. The atmosphere was okay. When we arrived a few tables were empty but not cleared off. Once they were, we quicky grabbed up an open table. Had to clean off some of the last customer's mess which was what it was. We did enjoy our crepes and will maybe give it a shot next year when my kids come to visit. If you have kids it may be a place worth checking out. They have a lot of sweet options that may appeal to children (and some adults) and also have more savory options if you don't like the sweet stuff.

D. Train

Fantastic place! Great service and even better food! Highly recommend the veggie scramble crepe!

Andrew Leary

A very specific and eclectic menu, with some very delightful items and some not so good ones. It's clear that the staff tries very hard, but service was very slow when we visited for a late lunch (1pm). Prices were high and the selection is definitely not for the general masses or for families with little kids. Nice atmosphere, and recommended if you are looking for something different.

Emily Sachar

Delicious crepes, savory and dessert offerings, and great prices are the highlights at this delightful restaurant right in the center of town. Tables are amply spaced, and one can customize almost anything on the menu. I agree with other reviews that the restaurant is slow, but hey, that's how they manage to offer so much personalization and customization. My friend and I had a lovely leisurely lunch on Saturday and we both found something to suit our demanding palettes. Great place!

Ziv Rozenblum

Great gluten free options. The crepes and soups are fantastic

Michael Davis

Yummy food, good coffee, kind staff, tasteful decor and the art gallery very nice. Plus they're a kid friendly place which is a definite plus! Not too many coffee shops like that.

Excellent food if you don't mind the wait.

Brian Kopec

Very good experience! The food was fresh and unique, and the band is a wonderful touch. I highly recommend the Starving Artist!!

Maria Zolotarev

We came here for the vegan options, and we were not disappointed. One of the most vegan friendly places that we have come across in the Berkshires! We came right at opening, so there was no wait. It's a really cool space too, with a little art gallery and local jewelry on display. The music is great too.

Sarah Gutierrez

Cristina Markham

Fresh and delicious every time.

Well priced, very fresh, great options if you’re vegetarian. People are incredibly nice and accommodating. The lavender latte was amazing as they made their own lavender simple syrup for it. Best I’ve ever had!

Arlene Tolopko

Umbregamer

I didn't eat here, but I was told by one of the people who runs C. I. P, in the same building, has their student's work on display, and for sale here. I was also told that you can rent the little art gallery for functions, for wedding receptionions, and the like. Great little place!

Nate Dogg

Great atmosphere and great food!

Diego Gutierrez

Super pleasant place for tasty breakfasts and working space. Great art gallery, too

Adam Hellman

Delicious food, nice environment. Highly recommend!

Ja Kr

There is a good, somewhat eclectic, selection of sandwiches here. The food usually seems to be pretty fresh and tasty, definitely worth the stop in for lunch. Those with less adventurous palates will find a few things to choose from as well. As is implied by the name of the cafe, there are also items from local artists available for sale here.

Miriam Middleton

Great atmosphere and food

Sean Fuller

Little hole in the wall kind of place that makes exceptional crepes. Incredible food and drinks. Would definitely come back. The pictures are of an Irish Crepe and a Banana Split Crepe.

Chef Via Melissa

Super delicious healthy food & coffee! I love that all can be customized gluten free & dairy free. We had the sweet beet crepe & Baja chicken crepe.

Hannah Long

Such a terrific place for morning coffee.

emeline renz

If you love crepes, don't miss this adorable spot! While looking for a lunch spot as we travelled across Western Mass, gMaps suggested Starving Artist, since we frequent a creperie in Atlanta. We weren't disappointed! We had the Local Blues and the Maple Morning. Both were beautifully presented, delicious and filling. There was live music (we visited Sunday afternoon) and it was a little busy, but we were in and out in less than 45 minutes.

Laura Miles

I CANNOT say enough about the awful service I just experienced. I asked for no dressing and after a 45 minute wait, they brought it with dressing and when I sent it back, I waited 20 minutes and it came out with dressing again. They forgot about my brother’s order, and were reluctant to clear off the table before we sat. Was so excited to have a new favorite place to rave about with great food options for veg/organic food. Not going back

Mimi Hassett

Fresh menu, wonderful staff , and great art work always a changing display.

Jay Miller

The crepes and coffees are awesome, and I love when they have live music - not ear-bustingly loud, and great relaxing vibes and atmosphere. Love the flavored cocoa too!

moonhawk x

Amazing custom crepes , excellent beverages , wonderful and kind staff. I would recommend strongly to visit there at least once. You wont regret it.

Paula Flint

Long wait out of ingredients, food overpriced for quality and quantity Savory crepes should not be sweet.

Jeff Mackler

Fantastic place for brunch. Music is fun, art is nice, and food is yummy. Good options for a variety of diets. Prices are reasonable and service is quick. Can get busy for brunch.

ren

been here for 35 minutes, waiting for my crepes. 28 bucks for 2 smoothies and 2 crepes??? better taste amazing. after this wait i will not plan on coming back here..

Gautham Chandra

Delicious and healthy food with good coffee. what more do you want?!

Jonna Climie

I really like this place for gluten and vegan menu items. It tastes great and feels good in my body. It seems the owner is more friendly and seems more comfortable with her employees too. We come at least once a year and are new ever disappointed. I wish her success!

Melissa Waterman

Wow yummy! Great selections, no gluten options, Very good, great prices. friendly and well organized!

Colin McNeil

Really good espresso and crepes. If you're a fan of The Skinny Pancake, the crepes are similar. Of course, Lee is a beautiful town and there's good outdoor seating. I recommend their maple latte.

Dwitiya Neethi

Best crepes I have ever had!

Joshua Cayea

Really good food and great coffee. Nice to have plant based options too.

Natron557

This was the 5th time having breakfast the creperie. We live in north east Ohio, the starving artist is located in Massachusetts, to return 5 times it must be pretty awesome. Everytime you walk into this place you are greeted by the smell of cooking bacon and coffee! Their lattes are fantastic, I personally recommend the green eggs and ham breakfast crepe.

Deborah Brandt

Great food and atmosphere

Rich March

Fast, clean with a creative menu that was very tasty.

Melinda

The best crepes!! Love the vibe and the people. I loved the non GMO and gluten free selections.

Nathaniel Munson

Good food, cool atmosphere, friendly service, but a little on the slower side.

Bernard Smith

Good food, healthy choices.

william kennedy

Awesome crepe reuben and pesto panini. Excellent food excellent service.

Amy Altadonna

Pricey and slow paced service. Food is good but doesn't travel well (ie, even taking a wrap to-go was a mess). Again, good flavors, but if you're not sitting down to work or chat and to enjoy the slow pace of this place, you should find another option.

Vlad Stadnitskyi

The food was amazing .. the place was packed on a saturday afternoon but service was still reasonable

J. Kat Kruse

Gluten free crepes!

Soumya Poduri

We come here everytime we stop at the outlets. Delicious food and love the cozy vibe of the cafe.

Samantha Candee

The worst experience!!! Absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered with 3 other people they got there food in 10 mins and after waiting 25-30 mins they forgot my order. “Didn’t see it on the slip” is what i was told. I asked To see the slip, it was right there on the slip on my receipt! I do not recommend this place.

Ana Lynn

Love this place. I make a point of visiting every time I'm in the area.

Rhonda Cyr

Great food and very cozy. Nice spot to grab quick bite. I suggest grabbing a coffee and taking a walk down the street or sitting on the patio area out front.

Aliza Travis

Great breakfast with yummy latte!

fred Anders

I stop in for lunch once or twice a month. Great lunch menu! Really tasty, and very healthy foods. Great atmosphere also. Highly recommended.

Ken Loerzel

Very eclectic menu...lots of organic local ingredients.

SB Willow

Delicious crepes with fruit and gluten free options. A bit pricey though.

sandee brittain

Delicious food, great atmosphere. Had the ham, brie, and apple crepe.

Patti Cooper

Love the menu choices, excellent food and great service.

Alison Cunningham

I loved their food and bought a loaf of bread

Tanya Zaika

Great place . Friendly service. Delicious food!

Lucy Swindlehurst

They have truly top of the line food the atmosfere is just as wonderful.

Jim Watkins

Fantastic food with excellent chef who is clean, neat, and organized. Food preparation is visible instead of hiding out back.

Laurean Leigh

If you are looking for a home town food with unique selections, this is it. It came wonderfully recommended and did not disappoint! Menu featured both lunch and breakfast and sweet crepes. Would absolutely go again! Local artists provided decor (which you could also puchase if you so choose). Casual dining.

DAVID HENRIE

I came with a larger group it was very good good food and served quickley. If your looking for a meal to sustain you for 4 hiirs this isn't really the place

Kirk Wooldridge

Good boutique style restaurant. Decent service

Fannie Zagon

Good food although it took quite a while for it to arrive.

Keelin Gangwish

REALLY amazing crepes! And nearly everything can be made vegan ! We got the chocoholic crepe and the peanut butter chocolate banana crepe! SO GOOD- especially with ice cream. Also I rarely find good matcha and this place makes the best matcha lattes. Really fun place wish I could eat here every morning !

Danielle Blackstone

I ordered the breakfast crepe. The food is fresh and tastes great. What makes this stop unique? Art, entertainment and a meal.

Joseph Zorzin

I've eaten here several times. Very good food. Not so busy early in the morning. My only complaint is that if you use their tablet to confirm payment and tip- the software on the tablet first adds the tax to the bill, then your tip is based on the total of the bill plus the tax- which makes no sense. I brought it to their attention. It doesn't amount to much but it's the principle. Also, it's not sensible to offer your tip before you've eaten anything. I recommend eat your meal- then leave whatever tip you like on the table. But again, I love the food.

Nancy Black

"Healthy organic delicious food!!!! Easy on and off from the Mass Pike" That was my review 8 MONTHS AGO....what happened to this place? ZERO customer service Rude girls working The wait for a juice was 26 minutes No smiles Sat morning you should know it will be busy during "leaf peeping". I am VERY disappointed. Hire people that know how to smile and make customers FEEL good about the long wait for a juice.

Tamara Osborn

I'm vacationing in the area and stopped on a whim. Was not disappointed! Servers were very friendly, I didn't feel rushed to leave, the food was delicious, and the latte was perfect. I'll make this a regular stop next time I'm in town!

Ashley Cimmino

Starving Artist Cafe has great food, made fresh with each order. Because of this you shouldn’t be in a rush, as it may take some time to have your order completed. Great vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. I should’ve taken a picture of the food my family and I got but I will say we ALL enjoyed everything. I loved the French onion soup (vegetarian) and split the herbivore crepe (vegan) which I believe was buckwheat. It was absolutely wonderful! Their homemade dressings are very clean, healthy and tasty. They also have some delightful vegan/gf baked goods like a raspberry bar and a carob coconut bar. Mmmmm! I wasn’t hungry after soup and half a crepe but the dessert was a great treat over the next couple days. I will definitely return to try more of the menu and seasonal specials.

Abbie Von Schlegell

Great place to meet people! Delicious food!

Stephanie Laviolette

Over 45 minute wait for a vegan BLT?????? Then it comes out with real bacon on it????? And then another ten minutes after you say five for the vegan blt.... And it still comes out wrong... Literally threw it in the trash and lost out on the money... And the service is less than good... If you want real vegan food make the trek to cafe evolution in Florence. REAL vegan food, AMAZING service..

Mimi Katz

Very good food. Great to support local artists too.

Megan DeFiores

Went for mother's day brunch. I had the crepe cheeseburger, delicious with complex flavors. Our meals were loved by ages 1-59. On Sundays they have live music, very family friendly, area with toys for littles. Only downside was only the women's room has a changing table, would love to see this offered in both bathrooms, or not have them have assigned genders do the changing table is accessible to Dad's.

Jay D.

Friendly staff. Good selection of salads and sandwiches. Kid friendly. Great cappuccino. Clean restrooms. Relaxed environment.

K Geo111

Drinking my coffee and walking around the art gallery was a beautiful experience. The food is creative and excellent. This is a wonderful place to start your day

James Jordan

Crepes were delicious along with the atmosphere and experience! Entrance and access to the restaurant were a little confusing at first, but after we figured out the ordering and seating system it was awesome! Well worth the stop for breakfast if you're in the area.

Don Kaiser

Fantastic!!

Michael Piela

Nice place to have breakfast with family or friends. There was a good variety of crepes and drinks.

Bertha Connelley

Food is good, but pricey. There is no table service and it takes a long time to place order. Nice that they have music on Sunday. I think if they had table service I would rate it 4 or more. Gf and vegan options.

Chris Pierce

Decent espresso. Service was a little disjointed, there is no real pick up area if your getting something to go. However the food that was coming out while I was waiting for my espresso smelled and looked delicious.

Petra Volinski

Love, love this place.

Derek Mason

Wonderful crepes and coffee. I really enjoy the art gallery and live brunch music. Best to get here early.

Howard Kilik

Fresh crepes, excellent coffee and fresh made juices in a comfy open space. Convenient and delicious

Michelle Bussiere

Loved the breakfast crepe. Good coffee and comfortable seating!

Marilyn Close-Battoe

Great food, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff

Michael Wilson

The crepes are very good, special. Mrs.W had the apple crisp crepe with ice cream. They added different types of nuts which she liked. I had the raspberries and white chocolate chips. The hazelnut latte was hot and tasty. The raspberry mimosas were okay. The establishment is a bit different in how I expected service. When you enter, you wait on a single line to approach the order station. You order and pay and get a placard with a number. Then find a seat. Seating is limited there is some outdoor seating, though in 90-degree heat this is for strong constitutions or weak minds. The single cook makes the food that is brought to your table. The line was long but there was steady movement and the wait was worthwhile for the food. We saw musicians setting up for a set on Sunday. This was around 9:30 - 10:00 AM, we didn't stay for the performance. We spent $40+tip, the alcohol boosted the cost. We had fun and would visit again when in the area.

Mollie Dash

Essentially a tourist trap. I could handle the long wait in line if the food was good, but my crepe was very bland. The carob-oatmeal bar was a sugar bomb. Not really priced for starving artists-surprise, surprise. Made me wish I had eaten in New York before driving to the Berkshires.

Lynna Gu

Good food. Good atmosphere.

Matt Trombley

The regular coffee, to me, was better than the specialty stuff. Amazing food and atmosphere. There was a musical brunch when we stopped in, great fun. Check their calendar for events.

Doug Turcotte

Great breakfast spot or for coffee and a treat!

Lori Cruz

Loved the food and prices, service was great. Will definitely return

Antoinette Di Ciaccio

Always a worthwhile stop on my journey towards Boston. Big fan of the artwork and matcha tea lattes. Have yet to eat there but the food and menu look intriguing.

Drew Roy

An absolute find in the middle of Western MA, would highly recommend this spot.

Michael A. Jones

The best place to eat breakfast in Lee!!

CHARLES HORTON

Great place

Oliver Reinhardt

Very slow service. Waited 30 minutes for my food while I watched the cooks behind the counter do nothing. Fair prices and food is okay. I got the mushroom crepe and it was decently sized.

Jonathan Wilson

Lots of crepes. Absolutely yummy!

Lester Cohen

Comfortable place

Gwen Gaglione

Nice cafe. The wait can be a bit long and I wasn't there during the busy time, so I can only imagine that it gets really backed up. The vegetarian focused menu was amazing and everything tasted so good! I wanted to try more, but my pants only have so much room. It was nice to be able to look at terminal artwork though while waiting. I would love to have a few more price-point options for purchase as well.

G Ng

The Cuban crepe was tasty

John Mortenson

What can I say about the starving artist café the food is outstanding the service is excellent and it’s highly recommended that you try this place if you have it in Lee

Bob W

Fabulous food! Great variety! Great place for a nice relaxing breakfast.

Brian Pellegrini

Great coffee and the food was pretty good. It's also at a convenient location in town.

Jose Romero

First crepe I've ever had and it was delicious. Really good coffee also.

buttered ghost

A bit of a wait to order and then to get our food, but it all tasted lovely.

Verna Houff

food fresh, good... fun to watch crepes being made

Helen Savino

Nice place overall but when meeting people from far away, as we had planned, it was a little too casual and cafeteria - like. The food was pretty good and we were able to sit and visit, but one of us had a cinnamon crepe he said was tasteless.

Anna Schwartz

Great atmosphere, great staff, great food!

Megan S

OMG, the Crepes were beyond AMAZING. I wish we lived locally so we could enjoy it more often. We came during a bank's promotion so they purchased the coffee and muffin (we paid for the crepes) and that wasn't all that good. But believe me the crepes were well worth it. Hmmm, wonder if they would overnight some to us? My husband had the crunchy crepe and I had the one with avacados in it (can't remember the name) and both were fantastic, I think mine was a little better. :)

eljumbo1

Great service and food . Delicious food night and day.the girl at the counter is fabulous

Akoni Kaminoff

Great food, bad service

Carole Vaughn

Food wasn't as good as I expected which explains the 3 stars.

Ann Nolan

Delicious food!

Paul Cash

Clean. Spacious. Full of light. Wonderful food. Good variety of choices.

Andrew Ledesma

Nice unique and cool breakfast and snack bar with Live musicians playing. Food are great made of healthy selection of Vegetables and cheeses.

Derek L

A local treasure. Kid-friendly space, helpful service, inventive & healthy (and tasty) food, good coffee, great art -- something for everyone. The place is always busy, so it's not a good place to hit in a hurry, but I'll gladly tolerate a wait if it means the business stays in the black and open for a good long time.

Janice Lang

Fabulous food, so many gluten-free items including baked goods and crepes!

Sean McG. Powell

I stopped here on my way to a festival and had a tasty ham & cheese crepe. It came with a choice of cheeses--I opted for swiss, but cheddar probably would have been better, in retrospect. I liked the atmosphere of the place so much that I stopped in again on my way home from the festival a couple of days later. This time, there was live music from a guitar player/singer, which added to the place's charm. I had an absolutely phenomenal "chocolate covered strawberries" crepe, with whipped cream. It's a long wait for the crepe to be prepared, but so worth it.

Connor Roth

Good sandwiches and great service and nice people!

john Murray

Good food

John Placais

We went there for Sunday brunch, there was live music with kids dancing to it. The crepes were outstanding and the service was wonderful. I had the meat lovers crepe - very filling with delicious ham and sausage flavor. We can’t wait to back there again!

Dan Aquidneck Dying Light

Fantastic place however your going to have to wait! But! Rest assured that its worth every minute! Prices are med-high but you're getting legit local farm to table goods! Great savory crepes!

EvaJoy Senecal

Excellent sandwiches, crepes and salads made with top notch local ingredients. The space itself is noisy but there's a great art gallery you can sit in (there's local art in every room too) and a cute spot for your littles to sit and play. The lavender latte is perfect. It can get pricey, if you're not careful but the food is worth what you pay.

Josh Loeb

Great menu, everything's fresh, they're nice, and they're FAST. Big glass window lets you see the kitchen; was there last Sunday morning at open, watched the cook crank out crepes for a crowd with the kind of composure you usually only see in movies. Zen lesson...and the coffee was excellent too.

Bill Elander

This was our third visit to starving artists. We like stopping here for coffee on the way home from the Adirondacks. We both had iced americanos, which were excellent. I like the flavor of their coffee. We also had scones, which were excellent. The weight staff were really friendly. It definitely has an artistic vibe to it, which was a lot of fun. It's a funky old building yet very comfortable. they have a whole food menu which we have never sampled, so I can't comment on that but everything look good as we were sitting there.

Carla Gesek

It's a quaint, comfortable restaurant serving vegan and non vegan food. It's a bit out of the way for me but if I'm in the area again I would stop in.

Dave Robison

Not much in the way of atmosphere or friendly service, it's tolerable. The menu is reasonably priced and the food is excellent. Parking can be a pain, but once you're in, you'll probably happy you found this place

marc fishman

Wonderful selection of artwork to enjoy while having breakfast.

Jody Pangburn

Delicious crepes! So happy to find a place with vegan options. Love the soy maple latte and vegan french onion soup!

Ron Blois

Great food. Very nice staff. The only place to get CATACHINO (capachino with a cat's face drawn on the froth).

Joe Kapraszewski

Delicious food, crepes, there made juices...

Lola Rainy

Not bad coffee, cute place and okay bake goods. Nice location

Daniel Duesing

Always great specials. Worth the drive from CT several times a year. Not to be missed.

Kira Isenberg

The food is amazing! I have yet to have something that I wouldn’t order again. But you have to be prepared for a long wait both to order your food and to receive it. Doesn’t matter if you’re there on the weekend or 2 o’clock on a Monday, it’s always busy. Delicious gluten free crepes!

Annette Bellingham

Fabulous food.

Samantha Sheehy

The worst lunch experience I've had in ages. There was a long wait to order at the counter, but that pales in comparison to the 52 minute wait for the food we ordered - 2 crepes. They locked the door at closing, and we sat there as party after party filtered out. Finally our food was delivered after my 3rd inquiry back at the ordering station. The staff was not terribly friendly - simply issued a 'sorry for the delay' when dropping our food off. No one was smiling or pleasant - they all seemed rushed and anxious. The crepes were great, if not overpriced. Could have been a much better experience without the ridiculous wait and blank stares.

Mariana

Amazing food and beverage. Very cozy! I just loved it!

Joseph Janiga

Great coffee and scones, interesting entrees, nice atmosphere and an excellent staff.

Lisa L

Delish crepe w meat! Spindrift sodas and happy staff. Place was packed at 330pm!!

Too many urban curmudgeons...

What a nice find. Good coffee, tea, fresh juices, and smoothies. Also enjoyed a salad and crepe on the specials board. Everything was freshly prepared and delicious. Staff was also very pleasant.
