This might be the laziest cafe I’ve ever heard of. Call it a lunch shop if you’re not going to open until 10. I don’t generally leave poor reviews, however in my estimation a cafe ought to open when people want a coffee in the morning. I’ve had food here and coffee here before, and it’s fine, but to open at 10 is unfortunate to those who are alive before what feels like noon.

Ate here a few times. Everything I had was excellent. The woodwork inside is beautiful. Also, I use to work for a company where their members would pick up wholesale goods. They never once pushed their religion on me but they did push free muffins on me which were to date the best I've ever had. This place is very well reviewed for good reason. Almost all the negative (2 stars or less) reviews are not even based on the food or service. They're based on the reviewers bigotry. Seems to me, these days, the louder someone screams for tolerance the less tolerant they are. It's especially comical to read people saying things like "don't eat here they use slave/forced labor" or things if that nature. If you really cared about labor rights then you wouldn't be reviewing from a Chinese made phone.

These folks were an oasis of great food, entertainment, and cleanliness when they were one of the vendors back at Woodstock '99. Easily one of the highlights of that weekend as silly as that may sound.

Great spot to stop for lunch. The pineapple smoothie was excellent and the caesar salad wrap was different but good. The atmosphere is awesome, reminded us of being in a hobbit house or tree house. Staff was very friendly

Amazing place, not only looks beautiful but the food is great too. The food is cheaper than a combo meal at any fast food place. Amazing teas and great fresh fruit smoothies. My whole family ordered something different and we all ended up passing our food around the table so no one would miss out on the amazing variety. My only complaint was that our home is 4 hours away.

NOT a coffee shop, NOT a breakfast place. The name fooled us, don't let it fool you. Nice interior, serves yuppie/hippie type food (hummus, organic, etc...). It is decent and reasonably priced.

the workers are members of this 40 person community ...religious community on main street near speedway.they work here 14 or so hrs a day if not more.their pay is a bed and food.not the excellent food served at the cafe.meals at this grps.home is millet,beets salad,sauerkraut on bread and the like.meat,milk are a rarity for the children.if you visit on Friday night you will get a good recruiters meal.is this a cult of oppurtunists.I and many believe so.I recommend not patronizing the place but if you eat here.eat and run.and don't get sucked.I'm to the fairytale as there is no happy member.email me for much more info if you like

Nice and attentive staff. The coffee can be better, especially if you have been in Italy and know how the original espresso have been made and served. Same thing for French lattes. You have to now how it is done and served if you like to serve and offer those. I hope only for the owners that they can go to France and Italy and learn... Other than that very nice patio and salads. Still this is one of the places to stop for sure. Recommended !

I absolutely love this place. I always bring out-of-town guests here. The woodwork is so gorgeous, it feels like you're dining in a luxury treehouse! Prices are very reasonable. Service is always casual and friendly. The food is reliably great quality. Our favorites are the Deli Rose, the Prince Special, their salads, and their smoothies. Their fresh bread is so good. Try their house dressing on a salad or a wrap! And if you're worried about them being a commune-run business or the way they dress, please don't worry! It's such a non-issue that I hate even mentioning it here, but some friends have asked me about it, so I figured I'd address it here. I've been going to this place with family, friends, and even for business since they opened this location many years ago. Not once have they ever suggested speaking about their beliefs unless it was brought up by me or my guests. Even then, they're very casual, humble, and never ever pushy. They've been nothing but kind and welcoming. Please go and enjoy this place! You'll be glad you did.

This cafe is run by and supports a cult called the "12 tribes". There's pamphlets at every table trying to convert you, and the bathroom has a huge sign explaining that you'll go to hell if you don't join them. STAY AWAY!!

When you go inside, it's like the inside of a tree- so cozy. The servers are very calm and relaxed. Probably not a place to go if you're in a rush, but if you want to have a break from the hustle and bustle outside, great place to relax and enjoy. Can't wait to go back!

This was such an interesting cafe! It has some unique features as far as aesthetics and I felt like I was in a very well air conditioned forest! The sandwiches were much better than we were expecting! No patties or bland sauces here! We got the halibut sandwich with amazing house made tartar sauce but our favorite was the Rose sandwich!! The turkey was shredded and mixed with cheese and tomatoes so it is almost like a turkey salad sandwich-again, the house made sauce was delicious! We didn't feel like anyone was pushing religion on us and were actually interested in their unique way of living. The staff was so warm and they seemed to have a pleasant work atmosphere.

This is and has been my favourite place to eat for over 8 years now. Often overlooked due to its size and the better advertised BBC next door, this small nook has an amazing atmosphere, looking like some hobbits decorated it, great food, much of it made inhouse and served with steamed buns, and hard to find drinks like hot and iced yerba mate teas for those looking for something between a tea and coffee. It is run by an interesting religious group, but they are very friendly and service is always good and thats coming from someone that doesnt care much for the faiths.

My wife and I ate here yesterday and the experience was wonderful. i had the turkey wrap and my wife had the roast beef sandwich. Both were delicious and very reasonably priced. The decor and setting was very interesting and enjoyable. The woodwork was awesome. How the booths were oriented gave a lot of privacy without feeling claustrophobic. Just loved everything about it. Service was prompt, friendly, and top- notched.........As for their religious beliefs that some of the reviews have alluded to, they did have some literature that patrons could take with them. But there was no proselytizing or anything of the sort. They were nice, kind people. They have every right to believe or display what they'd like. Patrons have the right to not take the literature with them or to not even eat the the restaurant altogether. It's that simple. No different than Ben & Jerry's. They're very open about their Left leaning politics in their business model, but I still enjoy their ice cream establishments. I don't agree with them politically. But who cares, as long as they're not preaching or lecturing me. I may not agree with Common Ground politically or religiously, but I keep that separate from my purpose of being there; and that's to eat a good meal. So leave your religious bigotry at the door and enjoy this fine establishment. MA is suppose to be "tolerant", right? Practice what you preach. We will be coming back as soon as we can.

This was my first time here. I loved the atmosphere, staff was nice and samples of smoothies were great; however I did not enjoy my cesaer salad wrap. I was happy that all of the ingredients were fresh, it's just that I really had my mind set on a traditional cesaer salad wrap and when I got this one, it was nothing like a traditional cesaer salad wrap. It had red onion, red pepper, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese, NO croutons with a small side of Cesar dressing which was very difficult to eat. I wish I had the option of having the dressing in the wrap. I ate it becasue I'm pregnant and was starving but to me it was not a Cesar salad wrap at all. Maybe the ingredients should be listed in the menu so customers know what they are ordering since it is so different.

Overall, the atmosphere and the food are fantastic. It's definitely worth checking out. Such cool nooks and crannies. Some of the staff can be a bit too heavy with evangelical pushing, but otherwise, it's a great place.

Fairytale atmosphere and the food is wonderful! My favorite is the steamed muffins! I always have a hard time choosing between the hummus wrap and the melt in your mouth roast beef sandwich! The common ground Cafe is a beautiful restaurant. I went there with a friend for Brunch. People in this restaurant are very welcoming with a great smile. The Ambiance is charming and with the scarce light and table structure gives you tree house vibe. We started with mochaccino and mango smoothie, and both were delicious. Next, we had Vegan hummus wrap and Pauper Special Sandwich but substituted turkey with chicken. The wrap tasted good, and the sandwich was transcending excellence. We couldn't try dessert, but I took a look at the table across and whatever(probably Hot Fudge Brownie Cake) they were having looked super yummy. This restaurant is worth the money. I would go here again when I'm visiting Cape Cod. I strongly recommend it.

Love the theming inside this restaurant, we sat inside a giant hollowed out tree stump. Very Middle-Earth. The staff looks like a commune got together and opened an eatery... very different experience than a typical place. Very nice staff and very attentive, if a tiny bit slow. The real story here is the super affordable food, great dishes priced incredibly low. Fresh ingredients- the greek salad was awesome. Thumbs up.

Would give negative stars if possible. Returned to Common Ground yesterday to find out they work with Blue Blinds Bakery in Plymouth MA. I was wondering why my sister and I were getting stared at and mean mugged by staff also why the girl in the back looked so miserable. For you that don't know Blue Blinds Bakery is a cult (Twelve Tribes) who believes in racism/slavery as a necessity and they beat children into submission?! Do your research and do not support a business like this. Will never return and I will now ALWAYS do my research.

Do not hesitate to eat at the Common Ground Cafe. Unlike the many restaurants in the Hyannis area that offer standard fare, every meal they offer is excellent: fresh ingredients, wonderfully prepared and the staff is very accommodating and friendly. Have eaten at Common Ground many times and have never had a bad meal. It's my go to restaurant when in Hyannis.
