REVIEWS OF Quartermaine Coffee Roasters IN Maryland

William Bundy

A good coffee shop. They have an excellent variety of unground beans you can buy. I typically take a French press coffee with a selection of the fresh beans.

Elisa Ferrante

A gem of a coffee shop in a Bethesda strip mall. The staff is great and treats you like family. The coffee was absolutely delicious. I enjoyed a beautifully made macchiato and bought some whole beans to boot. Will definitely be coming back!

Mirna Quintanilla

My everyday stop. Staff is nice and professional and very clean place. Good coffee and a good selection of small breakfasts mostly croissants, bagels, parfaits and juice. They also have a point system which is nice.

Vlad Mazin

Strong & tasty corrado, awesome fresh muffins

Vladimir Rodin

Most of baristas are amazingly clueless about coffee

Jeff Kryger

Good coffee, good bagels

Every time I visited Quartermaine Coffee Roasters and I always got a problem with my order. They missed my order or misplaced it to someone in past. Today I faced repetitive situation that the coffee store has bad chronic problem that is nothing new there. I asked a manager about misplaced order that I did not receive double espresso. I requested for a refund because the service was chronic terrible and I did not my order- double espresso drink. Manager never introduced himself and I do not know his name. Cashier and manager with Middle Eastern ethic background refused to process a refund that I asked 5 repetitive requests for a refund. They refused. They are a bad business. I wasted my gas to drive to the Quartermaine Coffee Roasters and I got ugly chronic experience with this business and no drink.

Best service and coffe in Maryland and dc

Pro: It's in a good location and has typically been relatively empty (which might make sense given my review) and provides an overall relaxed environment inside. ConS: The coffee is simply not good. I've been here on two separate occasions, have ordered a cappuccino and a macchiato and have been disappointed both times. For one, the baristas appear completely uninspired and that certainly shows in the coffee brewed. The cups were dirty and smelled funky, and were still covered in smudge marks from most likely the prior customer. The cappuccino itself was lukewarm, a bit bitter, and the foam messy and gloppy. Now I don't expect this place to be incredible, but I expected given its location, to serve better coffee, and at least do a better job than Starbucks.

Everything checks out! Good coffee, a big case of pastries, and even juices/smoothies/hot snacks made to order. Good service although service can be a little slow for the prepared food.

The store was disorganized (lots of boxes scattered around) and was not particularly clean. The person at the counter seems to not know anything about the food they had for sale. The WIFI required a password from the counter and was ad-free for 2 hours with a purchase.

This place was the first that opened my eyes and made me realize that espresso CAN and SHOULD be flavorful. The roast they pick for the espresso has a lot of character to it and it reminds be of the experience of having something bittersweet, but more on the sweet side. Definitely a place I am going to try and come as often as possible!

Elizabeth Campbell

The cups always leak! Please for goodness sake find a new kind of cup and use it! Then, everything here would be wonderful.

Dr Dennis

Great coffees and teas. The juices are made fresh to order or some can be bought premade. The pastries are pretty good as well. Quite spot to sit and work or meet with friends

Absolutely love this local coffee roaster. Their bean varietals are fantastic and they are always on point with their coffee recommendations. They have a 'rewards' system which is pretty nice; you get a free product once you accumulate points for purchases.

Great latte, super friendly staff and awesome atmosphere. They also have a great food selection and fresh made waffles!!! What more could you ask for?

Gary Rosen

I bought a pound of light to medium roast Guatemala coffee. The coffee was absolutely terrible. It was so over roasted that the beans were black with oil on the outside. I should have known better, as their coffee beans are in open air trays, which is very detrimental to coffee beans.

Jane Love

Great coffee

Scott McDuff

Great little coffee shop, with nice Danish and breakfast sandwich options. Great staff, and environment.

Sam Bentley

I think the coffee is a little bit nicer than Starbucks. This one has a patio and a nice interior.

William Nothwang

Fantastic cappuccino and pastries with a smile.

Michael Arguelles

Excellent machiatto! However, $6 for a medium will prevent frequent return visits.

molly helverson

Really good smoothies. The chairs are all wood though, I'd imagine to encourage people to leave quicker. Good for a fast cup, but not comfortable enough to stick around.

Pablo Martone

Delicious Latte Coffee

Brad Atkinson

Good latte, green smoothies, bagel & egg sandwiches, and a low-pretense crowd.

Rachel Locks

Ordered a cappuccino that was just half a cup of black coffee and half a cup of froth that tasted like styrofoam. My boyfriend ordered a filter and the beans were so overly roasted it just tasted like burnt. I don't know why this place for such a high rating their coffee is horrible.

Jay Dallel

Not a bad place, just wish they would offer better food options. The menu description is great but I ordered a mussarela pesto sandwich which was flat and plain.

Jody Ranck

Better roasters are elsewhere. Pretty mainstream coffee

Aaron Merrell

Great coffee! To the older man with gray hair (the owner I think) - you shouldn't berate your own employees in front of customers. The whole experience during my visit this morning was uncomfortable.

Christopher Parker

Great mocha, great atmosphere. They ran out of yogurt parfait really early and couldn't make more or I'd give them give stars.

Peter Liddicoat

Didn't finish the americano (burnt). Americano 2. Fit-out 3. Service 3. Value 3.

Andrea C. Morris

The espresso drinks are good, and the bakery items tend to be tasty and fresh, but the regular drip coffee is consistently terrible. It's sour, burnt tasting, and too strong all at the same time.

Get to visit every 6 months, late morning, no wait, plenty of seating inside and out, nice assortment of baked goods, usually get a bagel breakfast sandwich, love the coffee, prefer to SB, always friendly service, lots of open parking spaces.

M. A.

A latte I got there was too hot. I didn't want to ask for a redo. Lots of seats but packed when the high school students descend for lunch. They can't help that though.

The good: when they are on their game, the coffee beans have excellent dark roast flavor. And it is a local MoCo business, which I always try to support. The bad: Sometimes the coffee is just stale. You don't even need to grind the beans - you can smell the staleness in the bag. And all their blends have the same character to me, kind of like any bag of starbucks tastes like starbucks. But if you love dark roasts then you'll probably not mind this. My final point is about their loyalty point system. Seems like you have to buy coffee for the entire office for a year just to earn a free bag of House blend. Just sayin!

Quiet, low-key atmosphere; courteous and highly knowledgeable staff; loads of coffee from all across the globe; plenty of comfortable seats with power outlets everywhere; what more can I say.... Well, this of course: this place is the antithesis of Starbucks. Pay a visit. Do your off-site work there. Taste the brews. You won't regret it.

Brad Werley

Wide and healthy selection

Miguel Pena

Did not enjoy service. The young adult at the counter seemed a bit racist. No greeting, nothing. I did realize I was the only Hispanic there at the time. Of course he greeted other customers. Really need to work on your customer service skills and etiquette. Hand change back to customer. Don’t drop it like a douche.

This place is odd. The coffee is good and I think the baristas are well trained but in general the people that work here are just kind of off. It's enough to make me choose somewhere else when I'm thinking of where to go for coffee.

Stopped in off road trip to DC. Nice interior space with no rushing out, nice external plaza and chairs. Otherwise, just an average coffee joint. On a busy day, could imagine it being hard to find a seat, not a very expansive interior, but good on a quiet day.

Great, great, great!!!!!

They play decent background music to read or socialize by. However only 2 comfy club chairs available- the other seating is very stiff.

Miles Fawcett

Great spot to stop for coffee. Their blended fruit drinks are excellent. I schedule many meetings here as it is really easy to get in/out with plenty of parking. The staff is super friendly. And the drinks are great. Also good WiFi.

Not good. I don't know if it was because they are short staffed but the coffee tasted burnt and an $8 sandwich was probably a little bigger than my hand. The location in downtown Bethesda is much better

One of the best coffees - to include Redline blend - I've been a regular customer since Quartermaine openned.

Sydney Volenec

Mark Arking

Good place to sit and work. Coffee equal to Starbucks.

Raul Heredia

Good coffee and nice place to chat with friends.

Nora Burghardt

Pretty boring, strangely corporate. Coffee is bland, basically a Starbucks wannabe coffee shop, which is possibly the saddest thing. Over roasted beans, tacky atmosphere, it's like meh. I worked here, that's the only reason I'm writing a review. I liked the cute little barista job and it was, honestly, extremely clean.
