Classy food. Creative and very tasty. Little more upscale that I expected. Little pricey, so you pay for the creativity. But we had a private area for quality conversation. Several carrots staff checked on our service which was excellent. They can say larger groups with no problem. Delightful place.

Nice atmosphere, friendly service. I expected way more taste wise based on reviews/ratings I've seen. I had the Cinnamon Danish pancakes and bacon. Pancakes were dense and almost over-cooked while the bacon had no flavor at all.

My first visit to Miss Shirley's. after many attempts. The wait was so very much worth it! Great menu choices, excellent quality food, and a great server in Ronnie B. My only suggestion? Open ONE more Miss Shirley's in downtown Silver Spring so I don't have to battle the Beltway and Route 50.

Phenomenal service! Was very busy, but our party of 4 were seated relatively quickly. (NOTE: They will NOT seat you until your entire party is present) The waitress was extremely nice & was also very accommodating to my cousin's onion allergy and our indecisiveness when ordering! Lol! The food was insanely good and came out SUPER fast. Almost as if they knew what we wanted and began preparing it when we sat down; THAT fast. Prices are a little higher than usual, but absolutely worth every penny. I highly recommend.

They have a variety of food selections to choose from. They have very creative dishes. I ordered the buckwheat pancakes, grits and chicken sausage. Everything was tasty and cooked right. No one in my party of 7 was disappointed. The portion size was adequate, as most of us had take home containers. The service was very good and welcoming. Our server Ann, did a good job keeping everything together. The manager even came by to check on things and to lend a hand. They validate parking for the first hour in one of the garages. However, call to make sure you use the one they work with. (I didn't know and parked in another garage. ) Overall good experience and would recommend Miss Shirley's.

The food wasn't that great, and the prices are insanely high. The atmosphere is nice which is what you're paying for EDIT: adding this since they responded to my post. On top of the food not being great, the portion size for the price is absolutely absurd. I know Annapolis is expensive, but they close early every day. If they stayed open later they could make more money and reduce the crazy prices of their food

Came to Miss Shirley's on Monday morning with 60 emails in my inbox, and a STRONG need for STRONG coffee and a real breakfast (tired of bagels and cream cheese at coffee shops). I brought my laptop with me, and sat in my own booth for 2.5 hours. Diedre, my waitress, was THE BEST and never rushed me out. In fact, she kept topping off my water and coffee and even cracked a few jokes with me. I felt so comfortable AND productive. Also, the wifi is great! If you work remote like me, and are looking for an typical place to post up - this is the place. Coffee is $3 with unlimited refills. The food was amazing. I fell in love with the deep fried crab deviled eggs. Can't wait to go back. Great, friendly service. The 25+ minute seating wait was well worth it. Pictured is the kids breakfast bento box. My son loved it!

The gentleman that seated 7 of us was rude. While we waited for a table we were looking at the menus. When our table was ready he practically ripped the menus out of our hands. While most of our lunches were good, the club sandwich came with the toast burned on one side. The manager came after we mentioned it to the waitress. He offered to make another meal, however we as a group were half done and did not want to wait. Another restaurant might have taken that lunch off the bill or at least discounted. 7 of us were not happy about that.

I finally tried Miss Shirley's Cafe for the first time and the service, food and presentation was outstanding. Josh was our server and he was very informative with recommendations. The fried green tomatoes, apple cider mimosa and chicken and waffles are a must try. We will definitely be back to try other amazing dishes.

Would of earned 5 stars but when your order softshell crab sandwich at market price on the menu and it comes with 1 small softshell crab for $26.00. Its like wow really we are in the blue crab capital of the country market? so $26.00 is a bit too much for a sandwich. However it was delicious but overpriced. Maybe make it 2 crabs for that price or 1 large crab, just a suggestion.

07/19 is my fabulous mothers birthday, where we attended the annapolis location, for probably the 4th time, for the both of us. As usual typically no one can meet your expectations 100% but you, unless where grading science papers. Each of those 4 times to my belief I've had a different waiter, or waitress. Also each of those times my food requirments havent been met but have been fulfilled to what they said. Jessica was the famous waitress of my day that day and she was fabulous. Although my mother ran to the restroom before the finale of her Benedict and candle came out it was all cheers thanks for a lovely brunch.

Our server Jessica L was fantastic. The food was quite delicious, however, the salad I had seemed over priced for what it was. Atmosphere was very welcoming. Hosts at the front were very kind and friendly. The only gripe I have from the experience is that we were told that we weren’t allowed to have the coffees that we walked in with. We were told this AFTER we were brought to a table. My partner and I both respectfully refused that we would not part with the coffees we walked in with and we were ready to seek elsewhere for breakfast if it was going to be an issue. Luckily the host that sat us allowed us to keep our coffees. I do not blame the host for my gripe. The policy itself is a silly policy to have, in my opinion.

We brought our family here while they were visiting from Qatar and New York! They loved the food. The crab cake and fried green tomatoes Benedict and checked and waffles were amazing. Jessica our waitress was attentive and checked on us throughout our visit. We will definitely be back.

It was very crowded on Saturday but its worth the wait. We opted healthy sandwiches and vegetarian burger and they did not disappoint. There is a parking lot nearby which is convenient and inexpensive. The restaurant validates the first hour of parking. Will be back if we come to the area again.

Simply put Amazing......I found this resturant online after reading some reviews and I must say it is kinda expensive but it is worth every penny. I will be going back soon. Check out Miss Shirley's you won't be disappointed.

When people come in from out of town and want breakfast, brunch, or lunch, this is where I take them. The menu changes seasonally, and the chefs get creative. Everyone finds something to their liking. This is not a fast food place so allow time to enjoy it and your companions.

One of the most unique and fun brunch places to go in Annapolis. Bring your patience though because there will be a long wait... A little over an hour and we arrived at 9AM. There is also not much of a waiting area so you might end up standing and waiting outside. The breakfast cocktails are delicious! I highly recommend the Bourbon Lemonade. Menu items are a tad pricey for brunch - Cocktails are around $11 a piece and menu entrees for breakfast around $15. The Cuban sandwich is hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The menu is very diverse and the wait staff were all very nice. Overall, a very decent breakfast place, but is more coined for it's publicity. I'd like to see more normal items on their breakfast menu as well. Like basic biscuits or grits... Everything is "dressed" up with cheese or tomatoes, bacon, cream cheese or chives.

Miss Shirley's was delicious! My first time was a Friday for brunch and the food was great. We had great service and the food came quickly. When we talked so much that we let our mini Belgium waffles get cold, our server brought us fresh ones! Will definitely return for an encore.

This restaurant is awesome. The best of the best. The menu is unique and represents an adventure in eating. It is hard to describe just how good this restaurant is for breakfast, brunch & lunch. You must try it for yourself. As for us, we go to the Annapolis or Baltimore locations as much as we can. Try Miss Shirley's once and you to will be coming back for more -- guaranteed!

They have something for everyone, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free items are clearly indicated on the menu and our servers always ask if there are any food allergies in our party. If you have a craving for breakfast, brunch, or lunch, Miss Shirley's is a delicious option.

I love the fried oysters (seasonal, so not always available) and the drinks are tasty. The biscuits are not something a southerner would eat, no matter what variation it is. Other tasty items are the grits and white chocolate chip pancakes. I've always had great service from the staff. There is a tiny chance of street parking but there is also a garage and you can ask for a validation slip for the first hour. It's very busy on the weekends for the after church crowd. I don't think they take reservations. The restaurant is clean with pleasant decor. All the food is presented in a photo ready manner. It's easy to eat too much and need a nap.

The service has gone down. This use to be one of my favorite places. Sweet potato fries served warm without the favorite condiments. Item no longer on menu, which I don't understand because sweet potato fries was one of the favs. You can still order it but I was told I was fortunate enough to get it. Not impressed with server, not attentive at all.

The food and service at Miss Shirley’s is fantastic. Because they don’t take reservations, plan for a wait during the busiest times of the day. The only issue we had was with the estimated time to be seated (they said 30 minutes, but it took 75 minutes to actually get seated, which is why a star was deducted). The menu has plenty of options for all “eating” types and the time it took for the food to arrive after ordering was far less than what was expected, given the number of people at the restaurant. A great place overall for any occasion!

We have walked so many times from downtown to here for breakfast. It's so worth the walking and waking up early for it. (if you didn't, expect a long wait, which is still worth it.) My partner has never had the patience to wait for more than 30 mins, but this is the only exception. Great brunch and cocktails. Highly recommend!

I know the potential of this establishment! I'm in town and couldn't wait to visit. I ordered the challah raisin French toast. It was... boring. Literally just three pieces sitting there with syrup next to it. I know Miss Shirley's Cafe to be decadent, sophisticated, and creative. My dish reflected none of this... nostalgia? Seafood corn chowder was good and savory.

Pretty impressive. The modern take on classic southern comfort food is excellent. (People tend to forget that even though Maryland didn't secede, it IS south of the Mason-Dixon line). Good service and reasonable prices. All that said, there are so many good places to eat in the area that I still wouldn't bother to wait more than 10 minutes for a table.

YUM with a side of art! Miss Shirley's is a great place in both Annapolis and Baltimore! Delicious food, HUGE servings, and FUN cocktails ... Just ask for bacon with the Bay Mary! It's a great place to sit and catch up with friends over a nice plate and just enjoy the day ... And the dishes and drinks are artfully presented, so is a pleasure for all the senses.

The only reason this restaurant doesn't get 5 stars is because there is an expectation with "the best restaurant in Maryland" which gives it expectations to live up to. With that said, Miss Shirley's does a fantastic job catering to customers dietary restriction and allergies. I gladly bring my allergic-to-everything, gluten-intolerant, vegan friends here, knowing they will find something tasty on the menu and my eat-everything-ever friends will not be disappointed or left hungry. I certainly like the menu variety, the playful twist on classic breakfast items. The only things I don't like: Prices and lack of reservations. For a 20-30$ breakfast, I find it's a bit steep and makes this restaurant a treat, rather than a regular occurrence (but you're paying for quality; not to mention, with lines out the door, I suspect they have no reason to lower prices to draw a crowd.) And to my second point: Miss Shirley's does not take reservations; this is an inconvenience when arriving hungry, seeing and smelling what sweet and savory specials they have to offer, only to be teased for an hour waiting. I feel Miss Shirley's is a high enough caliber restaurant to offer reservations to streamline the customer waiting experience. But, all in all, it is worth it to try. The food is clearly made in house, with interesting and tasty combinations I never thought possible. The kitchen does an incredible job balancing sweet and savory and the wait staff goes out of their way to make sure the dining experience is perfect... I just wish the wait experience was also more perfect. Would highly recommend, and would very much go back.

Our party of 7 all had a different meal from the menu and each one was exquisite! The presentation was great, food was tasty and the atmosphere was fun and inviting. We would have stayed much longer but there were a lot of others waiting to enjoy an experience at Shirley's. The restaurant does not take reservations so consider a wait time when planning. For a Saturday afternoon, we waited about 35 min. It's worth the wait!

I would have given Miss Shirley's a 0 star but I couldn't. First a plus bathrooms clean. That's all the positive I've got except for our waitress. Front of house. We're told there is an extensive wait including outside where there were tables available at nearly 2 p.m. When we asked why we had to wait we were told there was not enough staff? Stangely enough we watched someone be seated out there and eating by the time we were leaving? Then we're told our gift cards are no longer valid even though when purchased we were not informed of this! Finally the food. I've had chocolate chip banana panckes before and apparently there is a shortage of chocolate chips and bananas that I wasn't aware of? Nearby a woman returned her scrambled eggs that weren't done right. Lastly the parking. 7 minutes for a quarter Annapolis? This isn't New York city! Even though I gave this restaurant 4 stars before I can only say don't waste your time! We won't be back!

I mean, I hear raves about this place pretty often. We've been twice now, and both times we left disappointed. Service was great, and food came quickly. My poached eggs needed a bit longer, but it was forgivable. Chives were a nice touch, as well as the tiny rounds of toast underneath to soak up the yolk. The country potatoes that I asked to be crispy, however, were not. They were soft and extremely bland, seemingly devoid of any seasoning. I barely touched them. My bacon tasted good, but again, was very soft. Who likes bacon that isn't at least SOMEWHAT crispy? The everything biscuit, while certainly interesting, didn't quite gel for me either. Overall, for a place with such a seemingly eclectic menu, I struggled to find something that clicked, so I went with a safer bet...and even that was a let down. Unfortunately, I don't think Shirley's will get a third try from us, two strikes was enough. It wasn't terrible, it was just unremarkable and boring.

We had a great experience here!! We started off with Born on the Bay-o Bloody Marys, which were fantastic!! My wife got a cup of soup crab soup to start and they told her to add 2 more oz. of crab meat for a real treat- she wasn't disappointed. I tried their breakfast skillet and it is absolutely amazing. My wife got the crab po boy (which was featured on Food Network) and she was also pleased with her selection. Stephanie, our server, was helpful throughout our visit and a lot of fun to talk to. You should definitely put this place on your list of restaurants to visit when you're in the area.

Arrived on a Saturday around lunchtime, a reasonable wait time considering the crowded eatery. After being seated the heat hit me, not sure if the A/C wasn’t working or what but it was uncomfortably hot and stuffy. First time here and noticed it’s a bit on the pricey side nevertheless ordered ate and left. Food wasn’t worth going back but if your in the area and looking for a legit place to eat.

This is a MUST visit if you're in Annapolis! Would recommend brunch here on Saturday or Sunday but DEFINITELY make a reservation as this is one of the most popular places among Midshipmen, their families, and Annapolitans! Huge variety on the menu and catering to all lifestyles! Friendly staff and waiters and good quality service! Meals are large in proportion which is great for leftover meals! One of my favorite eateries in Annapolis!

The menu is filled with a fun variety of breakfast items. We went twice on our short trip because the food is so good. The first day the service was rather slow and they charged us for whipped cream without telling us. The reason we knew was when we asked for more because it melted from the long wait and being outside, she said she would have to charge us $2 for it. The manager told us it was on the menu but it was not and she ended up taking it off. The next day we had a very efficient waitress but once again she did not mention the whipped cream charge. We didn’t realize it at first because it was tagged onto the price of the meal. Later when we got something to go, we realized she added it on. It just felt very deceptive. It should be stated clearly there is a charge which to me is ridiculous anyway considering I can’t eat syrup but at least be transparent.

I ordered the MD Omelet, which came with fruit, biscuit, grits and crabmeat omelet. Everything had unique flavors and was professionally prepared. It was well worth the price for the breakfast as it was big enough to be 2 meals, and within walking distance to the hotel. I will definitely be returning to this place in the future.

How the heck was this place not mobbed? We ate lunch there and enjoyed great food served promptly despite no small level of customization of the order. But be warned: the burgers are nearly as big as your head, so if you want something like, look elsewhere on the very inviting menu. Highly recommended.

Awesome food, except the biscuits are pretty basic..so don't bother with the biscuit appetizer. LONG wait, so get there way BEFORE you are hungry, especially on weekends (2hr wait)! Creative waffle dishes...even the plain waffles in their chicken and waffles is hands down the best waffle I've ever had!

The food is ALWAYS amazingly delicious! There are so many yummy options to choose from. My spouse and I have fallen in love with everything on the menu. The bill can end up being pricey depending on what you get but it is worth every penny. It's so much food per serving you always have enough for a second meal. They are also extremely accommodating with food allergies. Very good about zero cross contamination. The staff is super friendly too. They are very attentive to detail on their service.

We went for brunch and had quite a wait, but it was worth it. We had mimosas and these massive plates of french toast. The portions are huge, but so good. Prepare yourself and come hungry... and prepare to leave with a bit too much food in your stomach. So worth it.

Went about 1pm today (Sunday) and we waited a little over an hour to get seated but the food was worth the wait. Everything we tried was good. Highly recommend the deviled eggs.

The family and I went here for brunch. No reservation and seated in a very timely manner for a large party. The atmosphere was very nice and the bathrooms were CLEAN! The food was excellent with very large portions. Can't forget about the service was on point as well. Will be coming back here for dinner

I saw the review for this restaurant and decided to celebrate my mothers birthday. We did not like the pancakes they were dry and tasteless. The fried potatoes were hard and tasteless. My mother sent her order back twice. She ended up eating the rest of my oldest daughter's stuffed French toast. The reason why I gave them a 3 star instead of a one star is because our waitress was excellent. My mother's food amount was refunded. I was shocked that the manager did not stop by the table to talk with us. He walked by our table and went straight to the kitchen. Definitely was not impressed with the food at this restaurant.

This morning was my first visit to Miss Shirley's and it was fantastic. The chicken and waffles; amazing. But even more amazing was our waiter Manny. If every waiter at every restaurant I ever went to for the rest of my life was half as good at their job as Manny is, I would be very, very content. He knew exactly when we needed refills. he didn't hover around the table, he was quick with the bill. I mean, the man is a legend as far as I'm concerned. He simply knocked it out of the park. Manny. You're the man. Everything else was wonderful as well, I just felt Manny deserved a special shoutout.

I visited my first time 4/14 and my guest and I enjoyed ourselves. I like the fact that while we waited to be seated we were able to order a drink from the bar. The wait was exactly what the initial estimate was. Once seated the lighting and the mood was relaxed and chilled. I ordered a well-done PRATT Street Burger and did not substitute anything but added bacon and a sunny-side up egg. The burger was GREAT, but the Hash-browns that accompanied them are WOW! Will definitely visit again soon. I have to give a shot-out to our waitress/Server Jessica, who was great, knew the menu well, and had a very positive attitude.

Amazing breakfast joint! The Mimosas and Bloody Mary's are excellent. The menu has a lot of heavy breakfast options so come hungry. Healthier options as well as vegan and vegetarian are available as well. Looking forward to taking friends and family here when they visit.

Where can I start at? Let's just say that you can't nor will you go wrong with anything you choose from there menu. Just be prepared to wait on a Saturday or Sunday. Just know it's worth the wait.

My wife and I decided to grab breakfast here on Saturday, January 5th. I was not expecting it to be so packed on a Saturday morning a week after New Years but I understand why. The wait was short despite being packed and the food was the best I have ever had. My wife loved her dish as well. Our server, Josh, was an awesome waiter! He was quick with refreshments and gave us updates on our food as we waited too. He has to be one of the most courteous waiters with a sense of humor that we have ever had. I look forward to coming back to eat here for sure!

Great food, the wait is long and they don't have a good system of seating you but it's worth the wait. It's pricey for breakfast so just know that going in, especially of you order anything crab related. Recommend for sure. Breakfast for two was $104.

I was really excited to stop in after hearing good things and I wasn't disappointed. The fried deviled egg was different but good. The drinks were delish and I loved the cornbread I ordered the Chicken sandwhich with the Havarti and cheese and it was real good. Can't wait to come back and have brunch. Annnd.. my server Etta was so nice and patient!
