This is such a nice spot. Stopped by as a location for a meeting. Stayed for the ambiance and food . It's has two floors with ample seating. Food is well priced and the portions are even better. They have free WiFi and don't rush you to leave once you are done eating. Next visit to silver spring I will be back .

A great and tucked away coffee shop. Service is always quick and friendly, the building is nice, and the food is good. Only ever had coffee, breakfast, and lunch here. I do know they are open quite late as well, and do serve alcohol but I have just not made it during those times. Plenty of seating here as well, and I believe there is a rooftop portion.

Pretty good food and enjoyable atmosphere. The cafe has a very lax attitude, order your food, find a spot to sit, whether it’s a couch, a table, or at the bar. The waiters bring your order out when it’s ready. I grabbed brunch here during the day, and liked the sandwich and waffles we ordered. The sandwiches (we got the turkey avocado club) left my taste buds wanting a little more, but were good nonetheless. The cashier lady wasn’t to enthusiastic about recommending food, and was unable to serve us a virgin bloody marry. If I’m in the area, I will probably go back and check them out again.

Im less than enthused, but for people who like to lounge, its cool. Its not very crowded on wednesday nights. Lots of lounge areas so your group can just be. They have games at 9p, like jenga and uno.

Nice spot for private parties, mixed crowd of people and good music. Downside is only one bathroom and when it's packed the small upstairs bar takes takes long to get drinks. Good security presence and police and room for reserved tables and couches.

Great ambience to go with delicious coffee and pastries. The coffee cake was to die for I came here for breakfast with a friend and ended up staying to work on my laptop for a while. Another plus: the coffee and food are reasonably priced for the area. Next time I'll get the waffles everyone around me was enjoying.

Hands down my favorite spot in Silver Spring. No matter what time of day or night, Kaldi's is lively. I've spent many hours working from here and not only are the associates friendly, helpful and make for an enjoyable experience from the start, but the food and coffee stand on their own. Also, less talked about are the smoothies and pastries/breads they make! All delicious. Can't say enough about the atmosphere and ambience. There are few places, outside of my own apartment, where I would consider spending my entire day (and I have before, from 10am-7pm).

I used to frequent Kaldis before moving to different area. Came this Sunday morning for early breakfast and reading. I had great veggie Sandwich and coffee. Friendly staff but frustrated to access wifi...three networks and none of them worked. I am assuming this is just Sunday morning issue.

Loved this place. The cafe is big, lots of seating. I had green tea and marble cake. Both delicious. Their upstairs area is pretty cool. The roof is made of glass so you can see the sky. Has a bar up there too. Didn't have time to try the food. But definitely going back. I would love to attend a party at their upstairs area. Is really nice. Maybe I'll have a birthday party there some day.

I was surprised by this spot. I had a pesto chicken sandwich which was quite good. Downstairs closed so we went upstairs where a DJ was playing. Soon a pretty interesting club/dance scene evolved.

One of my favorite places. Greaaaaat food. All of the servers are nice, the deserts look and taste fantastic (I keep thinking about that pound cake) and at first I'd only had the chicken & waffles (which while not the "real deal" it's still good & I get it every time I can) I tried a cheeseburger and fries and was very satisfied. The atmosphere is great. It can get crowded being so popular but the seats are comfy with nice sized tables to either socialize or work, it has nice cozy corners (one with a 'fireplace') and a big counter to work at too. So many people I know have never been so I suggest it to everybody.

The social house at the roof Top (not the coffee house part) was fun to go to. It seems to be the new African spot since stonefish moved locations and the music is LIT. They defiantly have great DJs but my only thing is the arrangement of the place and cost of food items. They advertised free entry and free food for a certain time that nobody seems to make and when you do make it it’s magically no longer available unless you pay and then it’s overpriced for small items you can get anywhere. The seating is terrible because there’s basically none and the few they have is first come first serve and if you want hookah, you’re most likely standing to smoke since there are no chairs. It’s a cheap set up but I guess it’s their way to charge more for less for more profit. Overall, great place to hang with friends if you plan accordingly to save money and great afrobeats and soca music. Also be careful about the concerts because sometimes it gets cancelled last minute and you end up stuck and having to pay to enter - Again (before you get your refund).

Kaldi's has unquestionably the best coffee in downtown Silver Spring. It's a great place for just about anything: getting work done on a laptop, reading a book, or meeting up with friends to have chat. There's plenty of room and they don't play music obnoxiously loud like other coffee shops. My favorite thing to do there is just to sit at the U-shaped bar in the middle of the space and people-watch.

I have visited this establishment once for their usual sunday night kickback and it is LIT. I will not even lie about that the suya is delicious (I make suya too and can be very critical) it can also be a bit spicy. HOWEVER, had I not had another awful experience during my following . visit this would be a 5-star review. The last time I was suppose to be at Kaldi's for a Davido concert the event was cancelled only a few hours prior to the event and notification was not sent out. We arrive at the venue and are told it's cancelled and on top of that cannot use our prepaid tickets to enter the establishment. While trying to decide if to pay 2x for the same event, we were kicked out in the cold rain. We were told we would be granted a refund. I reached out to the organizers- still havent gotten mine. moral of the story- go there but pay at the door stay clear of any "concerts" at this venue

Music: Went on a Sunday, June 9th for the Afro Caribbean day party which was in the upstairs patio bar. Event started a 4:00, I got there about 5:00 pm. DJ and entourage arrived about 6:00. I asked when the DJ would start his set and was told anytime. I think he started between 7:30 - 8:00. Great music, once he got going, but not what was advertised. Seating: Since I arrived early, I had a choice of seating, so I chose a lounge chair setup with coffee table. There are no reserved seating signs and no-one said anything. After spending an extraordinary amount for some drinks, un-measured, and very small shots, we were told someone “bought our table” and we would have to get up. When I asked for an explanation, I was told “never mind” they chose another table...”you’re good” I was told. We then ordered some food and more drinks. Still not overly impressed, but decided to make the best of the situation since I drove 30 miles to get there. Between food and drinks we spent about $125.00, not a lot, but I thought enough to keep our seats since we were already there and spending money. How wrong I was! We were just getting ready to order some more drinks when we were again approached (about 9:00 pm), they rudely cleared our table and told “someone had bought our table and we had to get up”. We decided to leave. Overall: I should have prefaced this review with I have personally spent about 5 years in the bar/nightlife industry as a DJ and Manager. I understand the profit margins of VIP treatment in reserved tables and bottle service. My suggestions to the establishment would be to place reserved signs on seating eligible to be purchased. Start a waiting list. If your table is not purchased before a certain time open it up to someone on the list; a paying customer who is already there. Also remember, a guest that spends $100 is just as important as the VIP who spends $200-400 on a bottle for everyone at the table. I know for a fact that there were other tables that could have been purchased, but were occupied with groups of “friends” who were not spending anymore than we were. PS: I wouldn’t have any of the staff working for me! They are rude and have terrible customer service skills.

Pay with your card incase any wierd stuff happens and you nedd to call the bank... if you pay cash check with person beside you to compare prices.

Never been to this establishment. However, my account was charged 3 different times yesterday to the tune of $800.00. I tried calling the phone number listed here and it is disconnected. I of course did a fraud alert and will be getting my funds back. These charges were run through your square d reader that you have onsite. My question is why $800.00 of charges were not questioned at a coffee shop??? Reply to your update, I appreciate you looking into this and getting it addressed on your end. As the chip reader was not used my understanding is you will be held accountable for the money. This is very unfortunate for you. I would suggest using this as a training tool for your team. I am also very confused as to why someone would run a card three times in a row for these amounts unless they were involved. I don’t know what your average ticket is but I would think the amounts run are not typical for you. I have also attached a picture of the charges if this helps in anyway.

Kaldi is an great place to catch up with a friend over coffee/tea, get some work done, or grab breakfast with family. I've probably been here a dozen times or more. We've never tried them at night, but it looks like they turn into more of a bar/lounge then. Staff are friendly and awesome. It feels really communal and comfortable.

My top 5 favorite coffee shop in the country. Maybe because of the cultural diversity in SilverSpring, maybe its the amazing food or really fast wifi or the super chill laid back environment and comfortable seating. I've never been to a coffee shop I hesitated to leave. I want to just stay in this place all day. I bring friends here from out of town because its so impressive. Has an international feel. Silver Spring is such a unique city. Love it, its barbershops, bars, beautiful women, eateries, clubs, and coffee shops. All it needs is a beach near it and it might rival Miami Beach. lol.

They make really good coffees and pastries. I personally prefer their blood orange ice tea, see picture. Their service is hit or miss if it’s a busy day it can take a while as the line can be long. If the line isn’t too long it’s pretty fast.

Visited 1 time so far. Very clean, trendy little coffee shop with diverse seating options. Pretty busy on a Sat morning. My friend and I had a delicious breakfast dish with tomatoes, mozzeralla, basil wrapped in a puff pastry and topped with a fried egg. Yum. Def want to go back.

Great coffee meet-up that celebrates local neighborhood comeradery. Etheopian Coffe is the star here. There's free wi-fi , breakfast and pastries! Try the Avocado or Mushroom Toast. Also, if you have a sweet tooth, the Nutella Scone is to die for! (All the pastries are made in house and reminiscent of a French trained pastry chef!!)

Lovely place. Great place to sit and grab a drink to chill. My only problem is I cake yesterday and the drinks were perfect. Made me come back this morning and the drinks are terrible. Dirty chai and iced latte both with almond milk. Servers today possibly didnt really know how to make the drinks. No design on the top bit that's not the issue. The actual taste was 90% worse than yesterday. I guess it's back to Starbucks where they will make it over immediately. Here it was a long discussion about what was wrong and I had to hassle the unknowing barrista for some extra almond milk to fix the taste.

I was impressed by this place. It offers the true definition of "Social House". Great latte for sure. For those of you that want more than coffee and breakfast, the rooftop offers a great bar. Funny enough (but great concept), the roof top has a clear roof that can be opened or closed as needed depending on the weather. Beer in iced bucket in a hot summer day is certainly recommended.

Kaldi's. I love it so much that I come back to it when I am in town even when I'm not staying in Silver Spring. The space is huge, it's chill, and the coffee is the most excellent Counter Culture brand. I always get a large dirt chai and it bar none is the best I've had. Great chai latte flavor while also having the bright espresso kick that I need! Such a gem in Silver Spring! I highly recommend it for your cafe needs!

This is what a coffee house should be. Lots of tables and seating for working and social hang outs. I’ve had a couple of the menu items and they were delicious (the French toast is a favorite). Really good espresso drinks. All in all, this is a great space with an awesome vibe and food. Highly recommend. Update: this has become our go to spot and we’ve tried most of the menu items. The food here is great! We have not been disappointed at all. Highlights a cross the menu.

The place was good i was there to work on my laptop with internets help but had to leave as the internet was too slow. They need to work on it. The place seems to be deteriorating. Loved the seating it was cozy its a shame i had to take out 2 stars because of the slow internet. The coffee maker was a joyous and the staff looked positive.

Great coffee house with a bar and a lot of comfortable space right around the corner off of Georgia Ave. My mom and I stopped in for coffee and a pastry. There was a nice selection of scones and biscuits. My mom's coffee was great and my cappuccino was dark, smooth, and sweet with a pretty latte art flower. Lots of comfortable seating (the place is surprisingly large) and a nice urban ambiance. Friendly too.

Kaldi’s brings quality coffee drinks to Silver Spring and creates a wonderful atmosphere for great conversations. Friendly staff and quick service gave me going back for more. Their iced chai is a perfect summer treat!
