Ive been here a ton of times. And I mean a ton. And I honestly think this is because they either were bought or changed their staff but the only reason I’m leaving this is something i think all boutique coffee shops should take seriously. Many people come here to get well made drinks and they are basically paying a premium for it because the prices are up there with other boutique coffee places. But their staff is literally hit or miss on who knows how to make a drinks and who doesn’t. If you’re a barista and you hand someone a latte, mocha or cappuccino that is too hot to hold without a sleeve, then you messed it up or you don’t know how to make one. And the other half of my visits they are usually great. But I’m serious in saying it is either great or horrible. I don’t understand. They should take this serious and if no one does then I don’t think I’ll come back anymore. I hate to say it but I have more consistency at Starbucks.

Cold Brew and Nitro Brew are not made on premises - just regular bottles in the cold case. Iced coffee was lukewarm, watery and smelled like boiled cabbage. Spilled ground coffee on the counter gives a not so clean vibe to the whole establishment. Nobody bothered to give me a receipt until I asked for it - barista just put my coffee on a counter and turned away.

Friendly staff, chic interior, and excellent lattes. After Mayorga shut down its operations in King Farm, there was a void of good coffee and a community hangout spot. That void has now been filled. Thank you to the owners of Coffee Republic.

An amazing gem of a local coffee shop in Kings Farm! I'm no connoisseur, but the coffee is lovely and the wait staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about their wares. The shop itself has a comfortable, hip ambience that I would not expect of a suburban coffee shop and is great to work in (also free WiFi!). Would definitely recommend for a chill, productive afternoon of coffee and hanging with friends!

I thought this place had really good coffee but the cappuccino was weak and watered down and the lavender London fog was really weak. I don’t think the baristas are particularly passionate or knowledgeable about coffee.

I must admit I was really psyched to have this place open up. I was happy to have some alternative to sitting in the grocery store sipping coffee. When it first opened I spoke with the owner who seemed very nice, but this last experience was quite poor and I don't know if I will bother coming back. I wanted to conduct a short meeting of a club in which I was a member and planned it for Coffee Republic. I walked by several times to figure out what their hours were, but they are not posted anywhere. I decided to chance it. I arrived at 7 as did most of my other board members. By 7:30 the barista told us that's when the close. Well, we rushed to conclude out meeting and as we were finishing up, they actually shut off the lights on us. I thought that was pretty rude, especially if you are trying to build a reputation. I don't know if I will return. Get it together. If your hours had been posted I might have done it somewhere else but shutting the lights off on customer you know you just served 15 minutes ago is really not the customer service you should be presenting.

I really like this coffee shop; it's one of my favorites in the area, and way better than some of those big chain places. It's a cute store in a nice location with tasty drinks and friendly staff. Coffee Republic is a great place to work, although it can get pretty crowded during the weekends and sometimes the music is a little too loud.

Come for the coffee, stay for the conversations. Quirky, little shop with unique chairs and wonderful lattes. Save for the London fog latte. Not nearly enough bergamot flavor and probably needs to be steeped longer or perhaps too weak of tea? Oh and the croissant sausage bacon sandwich is good.

Free WI-FI, ample parking and seating within the shop. The Karak tea was great, a little sweet also did not have an overpowering cardamom taste. Great place to get some work done. Take your drinks to the outdoor seating area or across the street to the small public park.

Very good place for a tea latte. The barista made the coffee with soy milk and Jasmine tea with a dash of honey. It was excellent! Reminded me of a tea drink from Temple Coffee in Sacramento,CA. She did great. Their spinach quiche was very tasty. Almost tasted like a bit of parsley was in it which added a nice flavor to it. The atmosphere is great and the place is spacious with lots of light. My new favorite. I highly recommend. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is due the menu being very basic. My Tea latte was created off the menu. I like my coffee houses to have unique combos but don't let that stop you. It's just a personal preference. The baristas said they can make what you like. Enjoy this place!

I heard so much good things about this place and I wanted to see for myself, I go around many coffee shops and try to see if their claim is good or not, I ordered a cappuccino and I asked where the beans are from, they had to look and read the bag , person making me the drink was very nice and good but the beans from El Salvador and Sumatra don’t make a good cappuccino, also their pastries choices are limited, nice cozy place to relax but I won’t go there again, when a customer ask where the beans are from and when it was roasted (date in bag) I expect an answer. There are lots of cheap mix blends of coffee beans .

Coffee Republic is a pretty solid spot to get a nice cup of coffee or an espresso drink. Their food selection of usually pretty nice, too. While they've got done of the largest apple fritters I've ever seen, I usually end up visiting on Saturday or Sunday morning, and their breakfast sandwich selection isn't really consistent. Sometimes there's just a bunch of different types of ham biscuit/bagel/croissant sandwiches and I'm not a fan of ham and wishing they had the turkey sausage. Also the seating is really limited if it's even a somewhat busy time of day. But the staff have always been fantastic, friendly, and efficient.

The aesthetic is by far the best part of this place. I would recommend this place for meetings since it's big with lots of seating. The weird thing though is that it's a coffee shop and they blast top 40 hits...and their coffee is just pretty good. It isn't "cozy" or "indie" by any means. Also the staff is entirely made up of introverted women and it's so hard to read them - don't ever know if they hate people or are just bored.

I went here last week for a meeting with a friend. The ambiance was pleasant and the wait staff was very friendly. I ordered an iced coffee, it was mostly good. My main dissappointment was that I clearly got the bottom of the container since my coffee was filled with grounds. I would probably go again.

They had own Cold Brew today and it was very good! I would have given 5 stars but internet was very bad. Could not read send emails and chat sessions kept logging in and out. Baklava was stale. But atmosphere, coffee were awesome.

The coffee is below mediocre. But what is extremely subpar is the service. The youngish ladies working there and the older woman all seemed extremely disinterested in making sure that customers had what they needed. The older woman was standing at the side of the counter eating her midday snack in full view of the customers. They “ran out of lids” which makes taking your coffee to go completely impossible. It was as if they were moving in slow motion. They had to be prompted to prepare the bakery items to go with my order despite over ten minutes having elapsed since being served my coffee. Not sure if management really hired the best crew to man the fort during the weekend. This particular set of ladies seemed as though they would be better suited in a salon somewhere threading eyebrows where constant chatting amongst one another would have less effect on the task at hand. Having a “hipster” vibe is not an excuse to have lackadaisical customer service. They have one job and failed miserably.

Exceptional coffee (I order a quad espresso latte). The croissants are tasty, not dry and not flattened like grocery store croissants. Haven't tried anything else yet. The tea selection is uninspiring, my husband wishes there was more variety. The staff is wonderful!!! Fun, sweet, professional, never on their phones or ignoring customers. The store itself is beautifully and expertly designed with seating being a priority. It holds about 40 people, the size of a large Starbucks, but is much more interesting to look at and explore. There are oversized velour chairs, modern chairs, leather couch, two-seater tables galore and a barstool area. Come for the coffee, stay for the atmosphere. They're playing Nas right now- previous was Alisha Keys. Great mix for zoning out and working or for chatting with friends. This place is a big win for King Farm which has largely sucked for the past four years.

Saturday is a an errands and coffee day. We wanted to see if there was a coffee shop that we had not tried and wanted a local independent coffee shop. Google maps brought up Coffee Republic and gave us directions to this nice hang out place in the center of the King Farm neighborhood. At 3 p.m it's probably the peak, I did see that the case was full, yet many tables occupied by just one person. We got the last table. I wonder if tables where group of people could sit may be an alternative. I got the coffee of the day. I liked it and wished either the Barista had told me what the favor was or I had asked. We also ordered the hazelnut truffle. Both were good. We enjoyed the ambience. Summer will probably bring outside tables. Lots of parking around. Free WiFi is useful.

I ordered a hot americano, which was delicious. I also had a very nice chat with the two baristas working. I would recommend this coffee shop every time.

My favorite coffee shop in the rockville area. I got so sick of corporate coffee shops like Starbucks that overcharge for average coffee and products. The ambiance in coffee Republic is very cool, minimalistic and modern. It's very refreshing to see a place like this in the suburbs. They have excellent coffee, but I have to say that my favourite are the chai and matcha latte with a hint of vanilla. So good! They have a good selection of gourmet pastries and bagels, some of which are vegan which is great for me since options are quite limited for vegans in the rockville area. They have indoor and outdoor seating and are dog friendly which is great.

Need more food options and mineral water for those with sensitive stomachs. Lexie and Idri are great: efficient and always working. They never stop cleaning or picking up after customers. For those that think this is just another reincarnation of Mayorga, it's not. Try it out. Suggestions for improvement: offer empanadas (I prefer Juilo's) and Turkish coffee.

Whether your working, catching up with friends, or warming up on a cold day, I recommend stopping in. The only reason I gave them four stars is that there are items on the menu that they don't have yet.

This is a awesome little coffee shop in King Farm, Rockville. a truly welcome addition to the area. The coffee here is really good. and the Cappuccinos are really spectacular.
