REVIEWS OF Ceremony Coffee Roasters - Roastery IN Maryland

Amson Willi

Chill environment. Good for coffee on the go or a meet up with friends or coworkers. Only thing better than the staff’s polite attitudes and helpful nature is the absolutely spot-on product ranging from perfectly roasted beans to strainers and other brewing items.

Krista Krushinski

I work at a coffee shop that uses Ceremony coffee and it has re-ignited my passion for coffee! They know coffee here and strive to bring their patrons and customers the best coffees from around the world. It was a great experience visiting the roastery and seeing all of the science that goes behind a good cup of coffee!! The industrial feel of the shop was paired with homey decor and I could see myself getting lots of work done there in a day! When the weather warmed up they opened the large garage door in the front and let all of that natural light and warmth in! It was magic!

Adreana Jaime

Perfectly made seasonal latte, unfortunately I drank it too greedily to catch a good photo! Bought some delicious beans for home as well, and eager to get back for more when we need to restock!

Merrill H

Great coffee and adequate pastries in a strip mall

Mike Tonsmeire

Tyler Smith

Coffee as good as advertised, easily tops in city. Engaged staff with clear passion for brew. Coffeehouse ambience well-preserved.

Rami Siyam

People that know their stuff. Mmmm that sweet smelling aroma..

Spencer Phipps

A great place to experience the atmosphere of a roastary. The roastary versus the store location has a great espresso bar selection and excellently roasted beans along with it. It's my usual place to spend time doing work and focusing!

Carrie Q

The best coffee you'll find in all of Maryland!

Kiesett Newton

Excellent service. They take time to make sure that they brew the perfect cup. Fresh pastries.

Donald Adwell

Nice place, had a good quality cappuccino here, above average quality.

Mark Lundquist

Great local roaster with very good coffee. I'd put them in the top two roasters in the DC/Baltimore area

Doyle Schwartz

Super friendly staff and great espresso!

Mason S

Christina Cruz

Delicious!

Zachary Scherr

david tarasiuk

best coffee in town

Sandrine McHugh

Fabulous coffee, great staff!

sarah ranson

Maybe I went on an off day... The guys who took our order were nice, but the barista making the coffee wasn't very personable (putting it nicely). Ordered a 16 oz vanilla iced coffee; overly sweet and the cup was filled to the brim with ice. The actual liquid didn't even cover the ice. Not worth what they're charging (that's my experience).

Joshua Becker

This isn't a Starbucks-esque shop, and I don't just mean that in the manner of it being a local place. If your favorite drink is a iced mocha-frappe, this place probably isn't for you. If you want a real latte or a good shot of espresso, this place is for you. Semi-inconvenient hours, but easily the best latte I've had in Maryland.

Jay Ritch

Delicious coffee roasted on site

John Eckert

Expensive but good coffee

Daniel Habersat

John Philip Morgan

Great coffee and people are friendly

Mary Ella Jourdak

A quiet little gem with expertly crafted hot + cold coffee concoctions and a smattering of snacks. I love the laid-back vibe here, a great spot to bring some work or reading material and crack in to it.

Brian Brockett

Ceremony roasts some really delicious coffee. Up there with some of my favorite roasters across the US. The Cafe here is small but the folks who work here are very friendly and knowledgeable about what they are roasting.

John Seibel

Very interesting coffee place in an industrial area. Nicely roasted coffee, flavorful yet mellow.

Brian Little

First time in, friendly helpful staff. Great coffee

Jody Solell

They roast the coffee... Of course it's good, good selection of coffees. Looks like a refurbished industria or garagel site. Indoor and outdoor seating.

D O

Coffee was excellent, atmosphere was lacking. I didn't really want to stay there and drink my coffee.

Eric Roe

In town from Seattle, and this fantastic coffee shop tucked away off west st is a hidden gem. Their roast is similar to Seattle's Herkimer (one of the top roasters in coffee town), the cappuccino I ordered was excellently made (sized smaller to let the coffee come through the milk), and the ambiance of their shop is great. Only criticism I could make is that the pastries were pretty average. Would highly recommend this shop to anyone who values good coffee, wants a cool place to hang out, or needs some home brewing gear (they have an excellent selection of brewing equipment).

Christopher Hunter Smith

Was able to study here comfortably. Would love to see more food options

Jacob Spangenthal

Best in MD, enough said

Daniel Norman

This place is great. There is usually a small group of Johnies here. The coffee is exotic and fantastic. They do all sorts of different brewing methods like pour over, cold press, french press and the occasional vacuum press.

Tyler Remkus

Great place to visit for a high-end coffee. It's got a pretty quiet atmosphere and is a good place to converse with a friend.

Edward Langley

They are a very solid, reliable roaster. However, their espressos tend to be a bit sour.

Gregory Robison

This place smells delicious, and it tastes the same. I don't regret any of my impulse buys there in terms of gear. The beans they roast opened me up to light roasts. I used to be purely about the dark. I do still love their Antithesis beans, which are a dark roast lover's fantasy. Their lighter offerings deliver delicious cold brews. The descriptions of aromatics and flavors on their labels threw me off at first, but they are accurate and - often surprisingly - delicious, like 'orange gummy bear'. I never knew I'd want that in a coffee, but so it goes.

Tim McGuire

I am wary of overly fancy/hip coffee shops. I have been too often disappointed. Not at all here! I've just enjoyed one of the best espresso shots of recent memory. I don't make my own shots so well, and I run a cafe with decent equipment and beans. That's kinda frustrating.

Zazz Master

Love this place.

Thomas Alascio

Fresh roasted coffee from all over the world. Dog friendly.

Nate Jones

Great place to work outside. Good coffee [if you like coffee], cool atmosphere, and dog friendly.

Sales person

It's a pleasure working with these guys - Cheers to delicious cold pressed coffee!

William Tydings

The worst cup of coffee I've ever tasted. You know the taste of coffee that hasn't been filtered correctly or that came from a machine that hasn't been cleaned for days this coffee was equivalent to or worse than that. Tastes like the machine hasn't been cleaned in a week or so.

levi davis

Delllllicious

Chris Iatesta

The best coffee I've ever had. Be warned though.. if you experience their coffee, you probably won't be happy with an ordinary cup again.

Mike Donahue

Good selection of varieties.

Micale o

Great friendly service and quality coffee tucked away from the masses. A very good experience on my trip and I went back three times.

Kristin Kosmides

If you are a black coffee connoisseur then this place is for you. That being said- if you like Starbucks for its vast options, flavors and occasional dessert in a drink (like the frappachino) - this place is not for you. They also are limited in pastries and or snacks. It's a nice place, but limited in it's options. My husband likes the espresso blend.

Charles Baer

Great espresso in a relaxed setting. Coffee for those who like the subtle flavors of it.

Colin Gotimer

Great atmosphere, and a wonderful place to get a coffee and sit outside.

I went to ceremony after one of my finals. I was the first time I had been to the roastery so I wasn’t sure what to get. The barista there suggested the nutcracker. He was very nice and helpful! (Super good looking too) the drink I got was the best coffee I’ve ever had! Ceremony is a great place to chill, relax, study, and hang out with Friends!

Don Reilly

When Ceremony opened a location within walking distance, my heart grew three sizes. The location in Mt Vernon had me making a journey up there once in a while. The coffee is great, and the coffee drinks are great as well. Service is always extremely friendly and helpful. I've not had the food, but I've been able to discern via an eavesdrop or two that it's good.

Stephen Kostyo

Best coffee in the area

James L

Great coffee, friendly staff, nice environment.

Keith Newlander

This is a good place to come by for some excellent coffee or to see the roastery. I tend to prefer their seasonal drink specials which have interesting twists using their different blends of espresso. One of the standard menu items that I prefer would be the white shakerato. A must try! The only downside to this space is the size and lack of food options. If you want those you have ton stop by their cafe just down the street.

Tim Williams

A very hip and cool hideaway for coffee junkies. If you like the smell of coffee, this is your spot!

Brandt Green

Great coffee.

James Sands

Had high hopes... Espresso was very sour. Might give it another try at some point.

Linda Beechener

Best Latte in Maryland! Wow!

Dr. Morteza Delroba

Price is high, Staff somewhat unfriendly and cold to out of town ppl, limited food option, too bz to pay attention to customers asking for info...,didn’t feel welcomed there...

Alex Metcalf

Attention fellow coffee snobs: look no further than this place. Quality, artisianal integrity, and finesse play a critical role with how they promote coffee.

Denise Holmes

MY FAVORITE COFFEE! extremely smooth

Gabrielle Jankauskas

Ceremony is hands down the best coffee in Annapolis, with a great atmosphere.

Lori Ezell

If you're looking for great coffee and little more, this place fills the bill.

Michael DiDomenico

I get Ceremony coffee from the grocery store all the time for my espresso. They have a few really good varieties: mass appeal, thesis, antithesis, and destroyer. It is usually roasted within about a week of when I buy it which is the best of any coffee around at the grocery store. It was fun going to see the main roastery. They had several espresso-based summer cocktails, which were okay. The shot of espresso was good+ but not great.

Julie Davidson

Better than Starbucks

Krishna Antoine

Coffee is literally awful. Business is over priced for mediocre items. Snippy staff memebers. It’s just a place for the upper middle class to waste money.

Neat little coffee shop with a great outdoor patio for enjoying a latte when the weather is nice. Notably odd hours but definitely worth a visit.

Elliott Campbell

Fantastic coffee shop and roastery!

Cy Sc

Wonderful coffee shop and roaster with a wide selection of unique roasts and helpful workshops. The trend of upscale roasters offering workshops is exciting and it’s very cool to see several offered by Ceremony. I really enjoyed their Guatemala Los Piños pour over. This cafe is featured in “Where to Drink Coffee” (pictured) and I can certainly see why! I highly recommend stopping by to see and taste for yourself.

Henry Lough

Great shop. Their pour over was perfectly balance. Great extraction and their single origin espresso (Ethiopia as well), was super flavorful. The staff was super friendly and engaging.

Ceremony is one of my favorite spots to stop at in Annapolis. This location is their main roastery. It's in a converted post office depot (if I remember correctly) so the main entrance has large sliding garage-style doors that they open up when the weather is nice. The combo of an on-site roastery (that you can look into), open air, and the availability of our pour over coffee makes this a great place to sit and relax. Not to mention the helpful and knowledgeable staff that are on-site! If you have any coffee questions they definitely have the answers

John Bailey

Excellent coffee, but pricey

Sammy Mills

Delicious coffee, cute spot. I don’t usually add flavors to my coffee but their lavender honey latte sounded too good to pass up! Nice place to grab a coffee and read a good book. Kind, helpful staff.

Allison Stotz

Lee Hoggard

Good variety of beans as fresh as they get.

Matthew Horr

Best coffee in Annapolis. Hands down.

Justus Heger

The B-E-S-T coffee in the area. Coffee roasted on site. Wonderful staff.

Terry Stratoudakis

Jean Polfus

Really amazing coffee! Rich taste and extremely delicious.

Katie Badura

Really cute coffee shop off the beaten track. Coffee is excellent and nice to support local business!

Nathan Icart

I've been here exactly once. The woman that rang my wife and I up wasn't necessarily rude, but she certainly wasn't friendly either. We both ordered iced coffees which were weirdly fruity (not in a good way). This store has horrible hours. I drove down to Annapolis after work one day and got to the store at 4:30. Closed. I didn't even think to check their hours because I figured a coffee shop would be open at least until 7 or 8. Why would this store only be open DURING work hours? Weekend hours are even worse than weekdays.

Pilar Fuerte

They have no idea that Dark Roasted Coffee is the choice of the Coffee Planters and those that harvest it. Their stubborn commitment to light roast is not to my taste at all.

Zak Helmick

Arleigh Greenwald

When I visit Annapolis I find a way to visit Ceremony Coffee Roasters. Now, they just need more space for more visitors!

Tobias Cook

Brian Long

My favorite coffee shop in Annapolis. Friendly staff and a really cool atmosphere. Great place to get some work done or catch up with friends. Also, their spiced chai is absolutely phenomenal if you like that kind of thing.

I'm in Annapolis 5x a year and love the quality, consistency and innovation of Ceremony.

Colby Berry

Great service and coffee

I like supporting locals rather than chains, but Caffe Pronto has a policy of not putting up flyers or supporting local events. Seems like an unfriendly way to do business. To the earlier commenter who complained about their unwillingness to make iced espresso--google "ghetto latte" and see how people use iced espresso and free creamer to save $2 or more.

Marc Shaw

Amber Likins

Very cool place to visit and delicious coffees

Always the best Almond Milk Cortado! My wife loves the White Shakerado.

In a little commercial park behind a big building sporting "Big Screen Store", you'll find Ceremony Coffee Roasters. It sports a wide selection of whole bean coffee as well as delicious coffee beverages made to order and a case of tempting pastries. The store also holds a variety of expert quality coffee-making tools and gadgets so you can create your own perfect cup of coffee. Indoor seating is limited and industrial, but there are seating options outside when the weather gets warmer.

Lea Adwell

Greg Badura

Really cool place a bit hidden from the main road. Tried the nitro cold brew and their daily pour over batch. Both had a light fruity flavor. They claimed that a lot of their batches had citrus in the brews.

Nathaniel Lee

High-end coffee roasted and brewed to perfection. A tad off the beaten path but worth going to.

Christian Layke

I just got a cup of decaf Columbia coffee here. I think it is the most delicious cup of decaf I've ever had. The Rwandan I got last time was great, too, but a place that can make decaf this good deserves some love.

Kelly Rulle

Good coffee, tasty pastries, relaxing atmosphere. Nice place to meet up with a friend. They make a delicious mocha.

L Jacobsen

Excellent Coffee and Espresso Drinks. This is a top-quality place with Cappuccino and Latte that would fit well in the best parts of Italy. Well done.

Adam Elshaug

Oz/NZers passing through and desperate for great coffee like home, this is your place! Flat White isn't on the menu but they speak the language and Eryn brews a great one.

Keith Galloway

This coffee house is worth the drive through the West St. traffic and negotiating a parking spot in the smallish lot. They offer some of the best coffee you'll find in the Annapolis areas with healthy food and snack options although they don't offer a large menu so don't come too hungry. The only drawback is that there is limited seating so if you plan to relax and enjoy some great coffee with friends you may find yourself waiting a bit for a seat.

Rachael Erichsen

I always enjoy the coffee and creative espresso drinks, but what sets this location apart is the friendliness and affability of the staff. They take the time to make personalized recommendations and engage in pleasant chats, all without holding up the line. That is a hard-earned skill, and one that I appreciate!!! Another huge plus for me are the large shady trees surrounding the parking and outdoor seating area. It's a rarity in "hip" city coffee shops, and creates a nice contrast with the industrial roastery inside. Yep, I love this spot.

Mike Zimmerman

Best roasters in M.D. in my opinion, about the only place you're going to get an actual light roast. The cafe itself is pretty nice, lots of parking and a nice selection of coffee gear for sale inside. They are not going to make you all the fancy drinks ( frappuccinos) like a starbucks though this is for people who actually like the taste of the coffee itself.

Comfortably hipstery, and good coffee

Eric Lorenz

I visited Ceremony on a whim after hearing about it a few months ago. As with most coffee places, I like to try their espresso. The espresso was very tasty and everything I expect and love in espresso. I also tried their featured coffee of the day. It was full flavored and had a great mouth feel. The decor in this location is very current with industrial styling. They also roast coffee at this location. You can visit the roasting area to see where all the magic happens. This particular location is kind of off the beaten path but Google maps is a big help and will not lead you astray.

Jason Lang

Had an amazing pour over style coffee. Would definitely hit this place up the next time I pass through the area.

erica B

Ryan Carroll

The best coffee in the region, no doubt about it.

Peter Miles

Excellent local coffee shop. Roasted on site in a cool re-used warehouse space. Very unique for Annapolis.

Valerie Beard

Marshall Liu

Best coffee I've ever had.

Ian Rothman

Excellent coffee.

Michael Harwood

Great coffee from drip to espresso to Nitro Cold Brew. Friendly, knowledgable baristas. Fun to see the roasting works too.

Erica Jensen-Holmes

Coffee was great. Not incredibly welcoming.

Tony Stark

Hit and miss. Overall coffee is great. Menu ever changing at least from the employee perspective. One day, Flat White is acceptable. Next week, I get chastised for ordering one. "We don't call it that." When I asked what should I call it, I get "Latte." So I ask for one and get a tub of milk with 'some' espresso and not the little cup that WAS an easy order. Top it off, brought someone from another office and the coffee was great, the snotty attitude of the 'barrista's'? Could have done without. Makes Starbuck's look like the nicest people on the planet. You guys make and serve coffee, try and act like it.

Kevin Beck

Lance Curran

Best coffee in Annapolis. Best beans in the country

Scott Jones

Excellent coffee and very tasty beverages. Solid.

Ben K

Great little shop!

Charmaine Rostien

This place has the best quality coffee I've ever had. I go for the espresso. The pastries are so-so but coffee is the best.

John DeBovis

Pros: Good espresso. Friendly with a pet friendly patio. Cons: Nitro cold brew seems over priced and flat.

tiara dunigan

Awesome coffee

Trevin Hoekzema

The only artisan coffee made and sold in Annapolis. Great vibe in the cafe, delightful staff, and simply the best coffee.

Miles Fawcett

Really love it -- it is part if the coffee roasting plant. Feels clean and modern with some industrial flair. The staff is friendly and the roasting staff is right there taking coffee very seriously. I see they beans often in some of the best local food stores in DC. Is a I treat to have a cup at their plans while making use if their very fast wifi.

J Villa

Fantastic coffee and staff.

Tito Harris

Great service, and coffee.

Allan Elsberry

John Barron

Great coffee.

Flat white is delicious

Shannon Barron

Best lattes ever

I'm a coffee snob - i order fresh beans from a few roasters around the country. These guys rank up there with the best of them! Glad to have a local biz doing such a great job. Nice cafe, too. Try a single origin pour over

A Google User

Good coffee but expensive for what you get.

Steve C

Easily the beat coffee in Annapolis. You’ll never want to go back to Dunkin.

Zachary Pope

Best Coffee and coffee products in Annapolis

Zachary Bill

Coffee is good customer service could be better- internet speeds are wicked fast, fasted I've ever seen in a coffee shop!

Mary Wilson

Went to this location for a chai latte on 10/12/15. Menu posted for October shows them to be $3.00 for small and $3.50 for larger size. I ordered a small and I was charged $3.71. When asked why, the person at register didn't seem to know except "that is what is in the computer." She was unwilling to look into it for me. I even wrote an email to them asking about this problem before I posted a negative response which went unanswered. Would not go back as their customer service is a negative in my opinion. I can't comment on their coffee.....

Andrea Jones

I’m a huge Ceremony fan. The environment here is very peaceful and relaxing. Although no one laughed at my puns.

Nicholas Bouffard

The place that got me hooked on third wave coffee. Basically the only two ways for this place to get any better at all is more seating and a downtown location.
