Good coffee. I ordered a coffee at 7:30am, was the only one in there, and sat down to kill some time. The man working complained to his friend that it’s annoying to have customers come in so early while I was sitting 10 feet away and was the only other customer in the store. I felt bad for him. I hope he finds a job he likes.

Cozy coffee shop and great drinks/pastries BUT wifi is very spotty when it is crowded which can make it a difficult place to work. They seem to be working on this, however. Update July 2019: unfortunately I haven't seen improvement in the wifi

The coffee itself was good, but the service left room for growth. We initially ordered 4 pour overs, which was meant by reluctance from the barista and aggravation. After his reaction, we changed to just two and got 2 drip pours so as to not do greatly inconvenience him. After this experience, we won't be back.

We live around the corner on Prince George. This is the anti-Starbucks with competent baristas and a mellow environment. Brown Mustache is a coffee shop within a bookstore within a house that was built like in 1869(?). I get my morning fix here while walking our dog Lucy who is also welcome. My wife and I like the bookstore setting for reading the NYT. Our just graduated daughter loves studying for the MCAT here. Not for us anymore but the store itself has a sweet kids section. There is a fun kids clubhouse built from books out back in a virtual secret garden where you can also enjoy your caffeine. We have lived around Annapolis twenty+ years and at one time or another we have been to all 5-6 coffee shops within the downtown. These guys although new, are consistent and if not the best, tied for first place. They could use a little more room as sometimes it gets wall to wall in there and once in a blue moon, the waits can be annoying but it's still a 5 star regardless. Look, it's a five minute stroll from Starbucks through some of the greatest historic residential streets in America...a little effort will make you happy.

Espresso is done well here. They have little snacks and pouches for small kids. And the treasure of books here is fantastic. There is a quaint backyard, perfect for a family or individual to enjoy.

We stopped here for afternoon coffee and tea while visiting Annapolis. It’s a quick walk from the State House. BMC provided very good service, nice atmosphere (inside a neighborhood bookstore), good coffee and tea. They carry Adagio Tea. I had a 20oz Earl Grey; it was delicious and smooth with a hint of vanilla. BMC was a wonderful find!

I’m from Colorado & am spoiled there by an abundance of choices for great coffee. I struggle a bit when east as a result. Had an iced mocha today at Brown Mustache: best one I’ve had anyplace out east, barring none. The barista was a doll, too - so friendly & kind; she can whip up a tiger of an espresso drink, too. Plus, it’s a bookstore. Sigh.

If any place deserves support, it's this one...and I wouldn't say that if the coffee and food weren't so good but they are. As this place finds its legs, it could really join 49 West among the ranks of Annapolis spots with charm, ambience, and community draw.

Charming and cute. If you want a local coffee, a place to read, or just a quiet place, this is it. I always try to go local but if I do, the coffee needs to be good. The proprietor knows his coffee and knows how to make them. The book store is relaxing.
