Quiet and Cozy place for quick brunch, wait staff was helpful and provided good suggestions. Outdoor parking. Limited outdoor seating. Simple menu with a good amount of choices to cater to everyone. Has WiFi. Food was tasty. Not a good place for large groups. I would come back to try other choices on the menu.

I was at a private party here at Artifact Coffee. All who worked there were excellent and attentive. Food, drinks, and of course the coffee were all excellent. Ample parking however there isn't a sign on the door saying you have arrived. I myself walked around part of the building and down the street looking , a few others at the gathering said similar.

I ❤️ this little coffee house. Perfect place to meet clients and get some work done in Hampden. Music is always on point. Everything on menu made from scratch. I love this place. It's definitely pricey, but it's all food made from ingredients grown locally and the coffee company they buy their beans from pays their farmers and are mindful of the environmental impact. The baristas are first class and everyone is super friendly. It also happens to be FREAKING DELICIOUS. Update...was a 5, most of the excellent staff has left. New manager, prices are higher. Still my go to but no longer a great and friendly environment.

The coffee is great. I got a nice Burundi pour over with a good, light body and clear gooseberry notes. The batch brew is good too, it would take well to milk and is tasty on its own. The breakfast sandwich was delicious and a great value. The vibe inside is nice and I love the music they played (old school r&b and Beyonce). Lastly service was really nice, you can either order and go or sit down and a waiter will come over.

One of the best places in Baltimore for fine coffee and an eclectic selection of tasty locally-sourced eats. Very reasonable prices, friendly staff and charming rustic surroundings make for a great place for meeting folks or to hunker down with your laptop to work. Always an interesting selection of tunes on their turntable. Easy parking but can get busy at peak times. WiFi is patchy so be prepared to use your data.

Artifact Coffee, despite the name, is a full service café, not just a coffee house. Personally, I don't like the taste of coffee so I can't comment about the coffee in this restaurant. I had tea. It was very good. I also had tomato basil soup, also very good, and a grilled cheese sandwich, delicious. You have to know about this place in order to find it. The location is not where people passing by are likely to notice it. But your telephone GPS will find it for you, and it's worth the trip.

Was invited for a post user group meeting dinner over the weekend. One of the most amazing farm to table restaurant with vegetarian options that I came across. I do not know how I missed this place after staying in MD for over 8 years. Best American vegetarian options that I have ever tested in US. Amazing environment, cozy and homely. Best staff friendly accommodating and courteous. Will definitely visit next time I am in MD and would definitely recommend to vegetarians and non vegetarian alike. Coffee and desert options were great. Wine and beer options were awesome as well

Great Venue. If you've never been there, when Google says it's inside the stone apartment building, it really is. The entrance is on the side of the building. You can't see the sign from the road or sidewalk. They have off street parking right outside, which is really great. The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere are all amazing.

Artifact definitely didn't disappoint. I had a difficult time finding it, but once I did I was glad. I love the rustic vibe and the staff are soooooooo pleasant. The menu is pretty simple and they answer any questions you may have. There are communal tables in the front and tables in the back - also tables outside. There is parking, and its connected to an apartment complex/building that has some pretty cool artwork. They also have a typewriter that you can type on. I will definitely be back!

I had an hour to kill in the area, and was advised to walk over to this place. Very cool ambiance and extremely friendly staff. I tried the Golden Milk, a hot mixture of ginger, turmeric, maple and milk, and ordered some deviled eggs. The eggs were nice and mustardy just the way I like them. The golden milk was something new. Sweet and spicy with a maple flavor that was very pleasant. Overall the menu was great with breakfast stuff as well as a full coffee and tea offering along with beer and wine. Definitely worth a visit, I will be back.

The ice cream nitro coffee was amazing. The big stone building is wonderfully chill on a hot Maryland day. I thought the record player and albums was a nice (hipsterish) take on café music and a million times better than the same album on repeat every day at the same time or Pandora.

It’s okay. The espresso menu is somewhat limited. Chai latte should come out of a pot. When it comes straight in a cup I get the sense that they just used a mix rather than brewing it. Atmosphere is nice. Service is a struggle - 10 minutes before I was served, they got my second order wrong and it was a difficulty to grab her attention. It seems insufficient to have only one server during busy periods. Food was adequate. If you are going to be an actual cafe rather than a diner don’t have an option for diner style coffee. It is beneath a cafe and lowers it. I would highly recommend taking it off the menu.

Charming, homey shop with pleasant, helpful & efficient staff who seem genuinely excited about the menu. Had my 1st golden milk! It was comforting & different. The croque madame was good w/ lots of veggies: micro-greens, roast beets & a tiny homemade pickle. Desserts were superb: a cream & raspberry filled perfect pastry shell, and a rare chocolate cake that's not usually in the offering -- but should be. A delightful experience!

Atmosphere and service are great. Coffee was lukewarm. The menu has changed since I've been last. My food was blah. I made quite a special trip for what is usually great oatmeal, and to die for English muffins. Well, my oatmeal was a soupy mess. More like the instant mush my nephew eats. And my bread was like eating a thick, tough sponge. Disappointing. BUT, I'll definitely try again! You should too! I'm SURE this visit was an aberration. I hope.

It was nothing to write home about. It was overly priced for the flavor. I was not too impressed. The staff was friendly the atmosphere was crowded and stuffy. Seating is a bit awkward. On a high note they have tasty alcoholic drinks (very pricey) Wi-Fi and charging stations. They encourage to stay and relax and as a result eventually you'll buy more, good for them and for you as well. Their coffee was simply mediocre and being an avid coffee drinker I know my brew. Along with that, their menu for desserts was VERY small, it simply left me wanting more and leaving unfulfilled. I'm not too tempted to return myself, I may go back and give it another try but that's just me. Every place is not for everyone so take a shot and try it out for yourself. That's just my two cents...

It was alright. I went on Memorial Day weekend after work. The food was good even though the portions were small. One great thing was that they served breakfast items all day, so I got a very good yogurt with granola, honey and peaches (they were out of strawberries). I wasn't particularly impressed with the service. I basically walked up front (it is sit down service which I forgot) but waited a while before I was noticed. I got polite service but at no point did I feel like a valued customer. The waitress was nicer, if quiet but that earlier impression lingered. I've been there once before with a group of friends and enjoyed it much more then. I have dealt with lots of people all day on Memorial Day so I understand being tired at the end of it. I would go again, because of the quality of food, but only for social gatherings.

I can only speak to the coffee which was really awesome and I'm really into coffee and have been to a bunch of the best coffe joints in the area. Before this Spro was my favorite. Artifact is definitely better. It looks like a really nice place to sit and eat as well, kind of like the cafe version of Woodberry Kitchen. I will definitely be visiting again, probably to eat next time.

Food is excellent when it arrives. Service has been consistently declining over the past few years. The superb waitstaff of yore has been replaced with overwhelmed and unskilled servers. Recommend going but don't expect a high level of service. Perhaps get your food to go.

I've been there to just drop in for coffee, and I've also had a sit-down meal outside. Our first experience outside was nice, the food was good even if a little overpriced and it's a bummer that there is no alcohol allowed outside. However, when I stopped in to get a chai I had an entirely different experience. Nobody at the counter and no drinks were being made, tons of people just sitting around on their computers, but we still had to wait almost 15 minutes for an already-cooked muffin and a drink... Coffee shops get busy, I get it. The employee was rude and acted bothered that someone was ordering anything. We left and I took a sip of the chai and it just tasted like watered down milk and the muffin tasted like it had sat out for two days... What a disappointment. A little overrated and over-hyped if you ask me.

Loved this place. Loved the atmosphere with old school music playing in the background from the record player. Perused some of the music crates and liked what I saw. And this place is not just stylistic, the food was impressive. Try the Appalachian Spring sandwich with the fish pepper spiced mocha. Hope you enjoy as I did. I'm definitely going back. Stopped by for breakfast on the way out of town on a short stay in Baltimore. The seeing is very cozy inside an old Mill but it of field stone. The service was very friendly and the coffee of a high quality. The egg sandwich on English muffin w/ sausage was hearty and delicious. The sauteed greens salad was also a great breakfast choice with tons of fresh veggies in a generous portion. Recommended if you're in the area.

Great brunch spot on the weekends. Always ask what the pastries are they're baked fresh daily. The wait staff is incredible but the wait can be long for a table. Grabbing a cup of coffee tea or hot chocolate from the barista while you wait can help pass the time.

I worked in the offices in the building and the primary reason I went here was the convenience of it being downstairs and the 15% building discount I got. The potato kale soup and their sausage egg and cheese biscuit were REALLY good. However, like all of the restaurants in this family, they're just a little too expensive with very small portions and I haven't been here since I stopped getting the discount.

Totally been wanting to visit every coffee shop possible because I love coffee. This shop is locally sourced which I have to say, WOW! Such a rare find. I can be a little difficult when it comes to choosing coffee because I love options. My server was so willing and patient with me as my eyes scrambled their beautiful menu. I ordered a Carmel Cappuccino and they gave me real caramel in a small glass tube, and a breakfast sandwich. My sandwich bread was fresh and my eggs were perfect. I will definitely go back to do work and enjoy the experience. I would recommend.

I knew before going that you had to sit down and wait to be served, but there are no signs indicating that this is the case which is a slight inconvenience to someone that may not be aware. That small problem aside, the coffee was great and even though I came in only an hour before close the staff was patient, friendly, and helpful. They source from counter culture coffee, and they have a kitchen with food options that sound delicious, but all I had time to grab to eat while I was there was a toast with butter and jam(which was delicious). The cafe is cute and welcoming, highly recommend stopping by on your next trip to Baltimore. It is slightly tucked away and hard to find, but with google maps you should have no problem finding it.

This is truly an impressive coffee shop, unlike any other I have ever been to in my entire life. I was out on a run on a trip to Baltimore and saw this place had excellent reviews and was known for its amazing tomato soup. It was cold, and I was hungry for that tomato soup. I sat down and was helped by the friendliest barista who explained the menu to me and recommended the tomato soup over the butternut squash soup -- thanks, that was the correct choice. A couple of minutes later, the soup came out. It was incredible. Perfectly creamy and the "croutons," which were actually like little slices of bread with melted cheese on them, were the perfect complement to the soup. Prices are fair here and the environment is really quiet. This would honestly be a great place to sit and work for a while or to eat lunch or honestly, just hang out. I felt like I was in a movie or in England while I was here. I will be back!

A great spot for a quick filling bite. It's easy going ordering. Great area during the week to grab a bite while you work. I love the waitress, she's normally there everyday (5 days a week) I believe her name is Jen. She's always so welcoming, very attentive, and makes the visit to Artifact pleasant. I live their breakfast sandwiches.

Ambiance, drinks, service, and location are all on par at Artifact coffee The japanese iced and drip were not bitter or sour, which is an accomplishment given the competition in Baltimore. Their beer selection is good, and the matcha lattee is a must try given that most places don't execute this drink well. The ambiance is great, I won't explain why, just visit it.

Can't say enough good things about this upscale coffee shop. I'm lucky enough to have a son who lives in the Outlook neighborhood so Artifact is their local place to eat. However, I've also met friends here for lunch and have never felt rushed. Their menu is fresh and varied and well worth trying. Plenty of parking makes the trip worthwhile especially since it's right by the light rail stop. Elaine Rifkin

Small and cozy place to grab a snack, meal or coffee. On the weekends you'll likely find quite a few people there, so you might have to wait a little while, but you can grab a coffee or pastry while you eat. The food and coffee did seem a bit too oily for my taste, but tasted really good. Super hipster place, didn't have ketchup as "tomatoes aren't in season"

A great cafe - and with ample parking, luckily. I've only had the baked goods and beverages, which are great. I was a barista at Fox and Fern before it closed and it's where I can get my Counter Culture coffee fix.

Getting your food is a slow process but everyone working there is super nice, helpful and friendly! The clientele can be either snobby and stuck up at times but the employees and food definitely make it better! The coffee is good it taste like... coffee. The basil creamy-iced coffee with basil is good! I think some items on the menu changes daily. I loved the breakfast Bahn Mi and went back the next day to get it but it wasn't on the menu. The pastries are good as well, I would pick it up in the morning since they do sit out under a glass top and is more fresh in the morning. Also, I like the oatmeal...I'm basic I know, but for $5 it is huge! And filling! They put blueberries and maple syrup on it. You can't go wrong! The bacon is thick cut, everything is local and fresh, the waiters are great and the chefs are bomb you can't go wrong.

Cozy cafe in a refurbished mill. Love the stone walls and soft lighting. I got the maple latte - just the right amount of sweet- and friend got the mint matcha latte - also good and tasted like fresh mint. Food is good as well. The quiche was creamy and full of veggies and cheese, and breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese has some of the best sausage around.

As always, the food at Artifact was very good. I ordered the garden salad with a scoop of chicken salad added. I also had a delicious chamomile mint herbal tea which I very much appreciate having access to because I cannot have caffeine. The salad was a nice size, filled with assorted lettuces and veggies, and was very fresh. The chicken salad was a little wetter than I generally like but had good flavor and was a nice accompaniment to the salad. I was a fan by the end. My friend ordered the banh mi tofu vegetarian sandwich on spelt bread and she loved it. She is a finicky eater and remarked how much she enjoyed it. The chai tea that she ordered smelled delicious. My only negative comment is that the service at Artifact is never stellar. Multiple people bring things to the table but things tend to be a little slow in coming and somewhat disorganized. When I requested salt and pepper for the table I was brought an empty pepper grinder and salt that was hardened into a solid mass from humidity. I had to find our primary waitress and ask for the check at the end of our lunch. I and then ended up going to the counter to ask to pay as we had to return to work. Overall worth a visit for the food and delicious tea selection.

This place deserves all the positive reviews. I don't often give five stars but everything my friends and I had was excellent. The English muffins are homemade, the eggs were not over cooked, and of course the coffee was great. I had a mocha and it was not served sweet like the ones at Starbucks. Even the table service was fast and polite. Next time I'm in the area I will go back.
