Wow. Best latte I've had in a minute. They make their flavors in house and you can taste the difference!
Discovered this place half way through a trip to Baltimore and ended up making this my go-to every morning for some of the best coffee I’ve had and delicious pastries for breakfast (my particular favorite was the fruit cream cheese danish). The vibes were great - I did take out as well as spent a morning there to read and enjoyed it immensely.
Great coffee spot, right across from the harbor at the base of Federal Hill. Clearly, they care about the craft of brewing coffee. A little more expensive than starbucks, but worth it. Great service.
Amazing! Definitely the best coffee I've had in Baltimore. The staff was friendly and knew a ton about their craft, which makes for a great experience and really darn good coffee. Had an El Salvadorian pour over that was fruity and delicious. Can't wait to go back!
Everything bagel and cappuccino were superb. Great customer service and relaxing decor all added left me with a wonderful experience.
I've been a barista for years, and this is the best coffee in this half of Baltimore (and way better than where I work). Get a shot of the daily espresso and sip it straight while standing at the counter; the employees are insanely knowledgeable and will guide you through the intricate taste profile of the roast. Or get a pourover, and don't be afraid of the prices versus the (also delicious) regular drip coffee: definitely worth the extra. The reading room is beautiful, intimate, and well-designed, perfect for studying, reading leisurely, or a nice date. And if you feel like being outside, take your brew to go and climb up Federal Hill, which is right next door. This place is seriously great. 3 Bean, 5 stars.
Often crowded, somewhat pricey coffee shop with excellent views of inner harbor. Parking can be tricky, but once that's managed, this is a very cozy place to relax with a cuppa (and really good noshes!) and to get work done, or just people watch or read. Bonus points for having a few locations designated as electronic free zones!
Ordered a cappuccino and it tasted okay, not super good not bad either. Ordered the breakfast sandwich on a croissant though and that was so good it almost made up for it.
Always Friendly and Neighborly
3 Bean is a great place to go when you need a good cup of coffee, or to meet a friend. The atmosphere is inviting and the baristas are some of the friendliest people I've met.
Great black coffee, nice atmosphere, really great service. Their espresso drinks are good as well. The location is on the smaller side, which makes it seem really cozy!
Was told couldn’t eat outside bagels inside the restaurant *after* we had ordered and paid for our $10 iced coffees. A shame, I work remote and liked the coffee and just moved to the area — Just lost $5 in daily recurring revenue for a senseless policy
They say they don't do foam in the Cappuccino!! Whaaattttttt!!! They don't know how to make a good coffee??? Never heard that Edit- Coffee is yummy!!maybe the cashier dude didn't know what he was talking..
Lavender latte was so good, me and my friend had 2 cups each
One of the best cups of coffee you're going to find in Baltimore. Three Bean is always bringing in new coffee blends and other interesting takes on how to get your caffeine fix which keeps me coming back. The craft coffee shop vibe that they bring was also severely lacking from the area before and offers a neat place to get some work done or kick back right across from the harbor.
Great avocado club and great atmosphere.
Small tucked away and lost in the surrounding construction, but despite this a great little coffee shop with some nice small food items.
Had a cortado and loved it. They also have good food options, sourced from local businesses. The place is great for a chat or to work. The view is nice too.
We always stop here when driving to and from DC. Their drinks are always delicious and exciting, and they make their own fresh almond milk (or “almond beverage” as it’s called now). It has a great seating area if you’re trying to get some work done or meet up with friends, though we tend to take our drinks to Federal Hill Park, less than a block away, to enjoy them with the view. I highly recommend if you’re looking for a great cup of coffee in a great location, and if you love almond milk!
Don't let the construction stop you! Great place with great coffee!
Good food, pleasant atmosphere, very nice staff.
Tastes like water.
Okay. The latte was luke warm and not very flavorful. Muffin was disappointing.
Was just here Sunday morning and ordered a pour over, and it was phenomenal. I tried a lot of different coffee shops this weekend but this was the one that seemed to fit the environment. it was a very cute experience and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. if you are like me and just visiting Maryland, I recommend coming in here first to start your day off!
Great Coffee! Nice quiet place to work.
Love checking out local coffee joints. Good place right by the harbor! Will be back if we’re ever in town.
Nice cappuccino and fast service.
3 Bean Coffee is the my best coffee spots in the city. Great place to hanging out with a friend and working. The coffee is amazing! Staff are friendly, fast and helpful. The ambiance is pleasant and service is very fast. I'd highly recommend this place to everyone.
Cool place to get work done! Alana was wonderful!
Coffee did the job . But it was a simple coffee for 4$ . Won't be doing that again
Worth the cross harbor scooter voyage
Some of the best coffee in Baltimore. Food offerings are so so. I really like the sofas here. Especially with Peace and a Cup of Joe closing, few of the other coffee shops of this caliber in Baltimore have comfortable long term seating.
Very nice employees, good coffee, yummy food. Could definitely use more seating. Some of the fancy glasses are a little hard to drink out of. Check the seasonal coffee menue for some real gems
Good atmosphere, good food, but a little bit pricey. Also parking is very limited in the area. Good place to have a business get together.
Good coffee but the food was mediocre for the price.
The plan was to visit Federal Park. But the reviews for this cafe made it a must visit. First impression - Very sweet and friendly lady at the counter. She explained all their spring drink specials when I asked. Later, I also noticed there is a more detailed menu to the left of the register. I ordered a lavender latte and a spinach-goat cheese quiche. I grabbed a seat and my order was brought to me in no time at all. Quiche - The eggs were well cooked, so light and fluffy. It had the right amount of salt if you like less salt. I wanted something like a dipping sauce but they didn't have ketchup. They had something better! Chipotle mayo. And it's made in-house, it definitely had a kick to it. Overall the quiche was great, my only suggestion would be to add a small side salad like arugula with a light dressing. Lavender latte - This was one of their spring specials. I requested medium sweet. And I'm glad I did. It definitely was sweet. It was also creamy with a nice layer of foam. And you could get a taste of the flavor too. One of the best things here - Everything was served in reusable utensils. Plates, ceramic mug and even a tiny steel container for the mayo. I just had a yummy meal with no trash (since I carried my own napkin too)! Ambiance - Quiet with bright full length windows. The decor is eclectic, comfy chairs. There is a chalkboard door to decorate if you want to be creative. Nice soft music in the background, you can easily concentrate on what you're doing. I loved this cafe! Wish it was closer to home :)
Great coffee. Everything is well roasted never burnt.
The coffee is fine just like any other place. Nothing to special about this coffee shop. It has a very much Hipster vibe, with the customers to match.
Small little laid-back coffee shop. The clerk was very well informed about what they had to offer and was able to explain their varieties. Very comfortable, laid-back atmosphere. Good place to work for the day or just hang out for a little while. Unfortunately, parking is metered parking outside. Lots of small snack options and many baked goods. Their nitro pour coffee was wonderful, some of the best in the area that I've had.
Great neighborhood cafe. High quality beans roasted in house and the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable. I come here all the time and love it
Great cocoa and great service!!!!
Love their golden milk/tumeric latte. I don't stop here often but that is my go-to coffee order when I am near by.
Nice quality coffee. The barista took time to make it look nice as well. Gourmet quality egg sandwich
Relaxing atmosphere. Great coffee. Knowledgeable staff
Good coffee and friendly staff
The avocado toast and spinach quiche are excellent. The lavender latte is the best.
Cozy coffee place. Love the pin board.
Love the place.. small, hip, nice staff, love the location... nice view of harbor... coffee is good.. shush they served bigger cups
I didn't think the coffee was very good. Also, the Romper Room for the kids is not relaxing.
One of the best cappuccinos I've had in many cities of travel.
Great coffee. Their roast tend to be on the medium-light side. Consistent coffee. Service is pleasant.
Awesome coffee and friendly staff
Excellent coffee, surprising food options! Great view of the harbor.
The WiFi is as strong as the coffee
A beautiful place, great location, quality coffee, super helpful and kind staff, great atmosphere.
Never again, tooooo overpriced. The coffee was not too bad at all, everything else was too much money for what I got. I guess I'm not used to city prices.
I went to 3 Bean on the day they were running the Gilmore Girls Luke's Coffee shop promotion - there was a line 30 people long and it took me about 35 min to get in the door - the staff was friendly and upbeat. I really liked the ham and cheese croissant, as well as the Counter Culture Idido coffee I had... Cute shop, I'll be back when they're less busy - looks like they have a fair amount of seating for the area and comfy chairs you can sink into while reading a book!
The best of all I tried so far in Baltimore!
Love 3 Bean! Excellent service, great coffee, family friendly. Kid area, chalk wall, screen free tables.
Excellent fast service and atmosphere. Great coffee and light fare. Free Wi-Fi with purchase is very fast. Will come back again !
Spinach and Goat Cheese Quiche was delicious!
Although the one barista was nice they were completely disorganized we waited 45 mins now and still have not received our iced coffees. And was extremely over priced. I am upset we spent all that money for this. Update: even though she kept telling us ours were coming and other people after us were served first. I went up to ask for her to just put them in to go cups and she’s say “what did you order” they had totally forgotten. At least when Starbucks messes up they give you a whole free visit
Great local spot for a quick stop. Now that they have breakfast sandwiches it’s gotten even better. Still need to check out on of the evening open mic nights or gatherings. Free parking directly in front before 9am for your morning run by.
Food is always excellent.
The price is exactly what I expected for a local coffee shop (a little pricey). The atmosphere was cozy. We ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on toast to-go. We got that BUT we noticed after we had left that it also had grape jelly on it. That was not communicated to us before ordering.
The coffee is good! I buy beans here and also buy their drinks. The service is great and it's a good place to study. If you park out front in the morning it's free until 9am.
Love this place. Syrups are made in house and are gluten free most are dairy free as well. Staff if accommodating and friendly.
Cute place to have breakfast. If eating in, first refill of coffee is free! Although to me tasted a tad too watery. Atmosphere is nice, and staff have perfect manners. Breakfast sandwiches are a little more expensive than other places, but I get the impression that they're not microwaving it from being frozen, which more justifies the cost.
Ordered a chai tea latte and a chocolate croissant and enjoyed both. The croissant was warm and fresh and the tea was really well done. The shop has a nice feel to it, even though it's in a little strip mall kinda thing right on Key Hwy it outclasses its surroundings.
Cute coffee shop with nice seating.
Quiche lorraine and coffee are decent... Parking situation can be difficult due to the popularity of the place
Great selection of beans for pour overs. Highly recommend if you are looking for good coffee in Baltimore
After 1 sip with the nice art work on my hot chocolate, it said enough for me to give this place 5 stars.
Fresh coffee, nice pour over selection, friendly baristas, lovely shop. If you drink coffee and happen to be around Baltimore, stop in to 3 Bean.
Really great coffee shop. Knowledgeable staff does excellent pour over. Free WiFi and ample seating makes for a great work and meeting space.
One of my favorite places to get coffee in Baltimore, you can sit in the sofa and enjoy a view across the harbor while you sip any of their fantastic caffeinated beverages (or uncaffinated ones to of you're into that sort of thing)
I was highly disappointed with the service from this establishment. I've been all around the world, from Iraq, the Netherlands, and now reside in Chicago, and have never been told I can't order a macchiato dry. I was given push back initially, but was told they'd make note of my request and when I finally got the drink it was clearly not dry. There was a taller gentleman who worked there that tried to argue with me about the matter and I can't believe a shop could be so stuck up to not give the customer what they want. I will say that the atmosphere and outdoor seating is great as well as the location. I had also ordered a lox bagel, which was great, but they're a little light on the lox, barely covers the bagel, and for $9... Seems like a rip off to me. I did have some bites of the spinach quiche which was delicious. Overall, I just felt belittled as a customer and that's never okay. There's nothing I can't stand more than a pretentious business.
One of the best coffee places in the city! Great seating area and friendly, fantastic baristas. The latte was pretty good. One of the best latte I've had in a long time. If you get to sit in the bar area by the window, you'll get a great view of the harbor, which makes for a nice place to bust out the laptop and get some work done. It's a very pleasant space and you should definitely give this place a try!!
Best iced mocha. Not the best customer service but great coffee
Great atmosphere and excellent coffee
It's a nice place with great service l, very cozy. The reason I give it 4 stars is because I was expecting a Starbucks like iced coffee and it's nothing like it. Other than that... I love this place.
Good coffee and friendly staff, but service was a little slow
Great staff and the coffee is out this world!
Small, Comfortable, and Classy. I highly recommend Espresso drinks at this coffee shop. If you are looking for a Latte, Double Shot, or an Americano you won't be disappointed.
Tasty coffee, and nice ambience in a pretty little stretch of Key Hwy. near the harbor. The science center is directly across the street. Limited parking on the street at meters.
Hot chocolate was really good and fast service
Favorite coffee shop in Federal Hill! Great customer service and cozy, friendly environment! On several occasions, the barista actually went out of their way to carry the coffee to my table! I feel so at home here! Also the Orange Flower Mocha is so delicious and they have gluten free coffee cake!!!
These guys know coffee. Not only do you get a wide range of delicious flavors, but the people serving are very knowledgeable if you want to learn about your beans. I also enjoy the retro sitting area where you can relax and enjoy your brew.
Pretty good coffee shop! A little on the pricey side ($5 for an admittedly tasty mocha) but a fun visit. I wish they had more of a food selection though.
Nice niche coffee. Get the lavender!
Was charged $9 for a matcha latte, which is outrageous even for a top-notch coffee shop. Was this a mistake? I don't know--there were no prices displayed on the menu. On a brighter note, the latte was really good.
Super friendly staff and solid espresso drinks. Found the chai to be a bit dry and harsh, but that's a personal preference. Can get a bit noisy if you're trying to work in a quiet atmosphere, but not going to state that as a negative since it's a good place for people to hang out and chat.
I used to love 3 Bean as a place to come on Saturday morning, knock work out, have a couple cups of coffee, and start the weekend. Recently, it has turned into a daycare. Groups of young parents sit around while their kids scream and run around. Not a good place to have a relaxing morning getting work done
Many good restaurants in the surrounding area just can't handle doing superior espresso drinks, so this is the place to go when you need that professional service. Great variety, seasonal creations.
Nice local place with fun items and all the coffee standards. Great view of the water and city. Convenient parking. Barista Darius was super friendly and helpful. The place has a trendy local vibe without being annoying or pretentious.
My wife and I are in Baltimore for a Sylvan conference and we were looking for a great local coffee shop and we were both pleasantly surprised to find this little gem in the inner harbor. They have fantastic pour overs of estate coffers, their nitro cold brew was very good and their brewed coffee was great too. The best part was every day we were in the place the staff seemed happy to be there and the service was very good. If you want coffee that is not over roasted with lots of flavor and nuance, then this is your place if you are in the inner harbor
A little pricey, but understandable considering the great location. Great to spend some time working on your laptop with a view of the harbor. Super fun place to try if you enjoy trying new drinks!
Great coffee. Even better staff. Love this place.
We came here a few times while visiting friends. The coffee is solid. I had a blueberry muffin and it was perfect - not too big, not too small, lots of berries, and the perfect amount of sweetness.
Delicious coffee right near the inner harbor. My favorite thing to do is grab a hot to go cup of joe and head over to the Science Center with my girls.
As someone from the west coast and Pacific Northwest (known for their coffee roasteries), I was blown away by this place. It reminded me of the PNW. The coffee is absolutely amazing, and I do not say that lightly. They have a huge glass window that overlooks the harbor and Baltimore skyline. I would definitely recommend this place. It is a chill environment to relax and do work and staff brings you the drinks. Definitely would recommend!
Coffee is so good.
Not many vegan options, be careful what you order! The staff isn't very friendly and they seem to have lots of rules. Not my first choice but sometimes will go due to the location.
Solid environment to work or study. Customer service is hit or miss, but typically welcoming and friendly. The quality of the coffee is only as good as the coffee roaster. Definitely miss them serving CounterCulture.
This place has amazing amazing coffee I wish I lived here just to go to this place!
One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, the coffee is some of the best I've ever had, the environment is warm and cozy. The pour overs are to die for, their espresso is always amazing and their seasonal menu is great as well. I wholeheartedly recommend three bean coffee to anyone who loves high quality third-wave coffee with incredible service.
The staff is incredibly friendly and inviting. The service was wonderful. The place was comfortable and the atmosphere warm and fun. Everyone in our party loved their drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone!
Great coffee. Great atmosphere.
Literally the worst coffee I've ever drank! Edit: Response. We bought a Latte and a Cappuccino and both just tasted like sour creamer. There was no real coffee taste or bitterness. Even with a really light roasted coffee I would have expected a little something, with the cappuccino at least.
I liked the coffee. The chicken pot pie on the other hand...dry as a bone. No sauce/gravy/liquid goodness in the pot pie. Would have been great had it had that.
3 Bean Coffee has a wonderful atmosphere for getting together with friends or hunkering down to study/work. The music is usually very pleasant to the ears, and the staff is excellent. Internet speed for the free WiFi is very good, and this place surprisingly had one of the best bagels I've ever eaten in Baltimore. Other pastries and food/beverage options are great, too. The only reason for 4/5 stars and not 5/5 stars is based on the size of the establishment, and the quality of the coffee (black) -- it is a bit too acidic for my liking. I wish the space was a little larger... but other than that it is fantastic! S
Place is so good that I thought it was five bean
Nice place and great coffee
Love this place. Cozy, funky, good service and coffee!
Really enjoy the pastries and drinks. I am in love with the spiced apple cider. The seating is minimal but a cozy concept. Perfect location from the inner harbour.
Place is clean. Lots of people even on a sunday Staff is fine. But the coffee is way too strong.
Tastiest americano I've ever had in my life here, whoever was working that day or whatever beans they used it was amazing, but the quality could be a little more consistent behind the espresso machine, check it out you won't be sorry you did docked one star for the sometimes inconsistent drink quality other than that, excellent service, cool staff
This morning I odered a Nutella latte and chocolate croissant, which looked good. I kindly asked the barrista to have my croissant warmed up, but was told that once food is passed over the counter it is not okay to be returned or warmed. I have not even touched the croissant in the bag, yet alone just held the exterior. Her sarcasm was not wanted when I did ask. Overall the latte was good and the cold croissant could been better served warmed.
Nice Staff, coffee was good though not great.
Good coffee but the vegan cookies have no flavor. Not a bad spot to work on your computer or meet with friends.
Amazing! Definitely the best coffee I've had in Baltimore. The staff was friendly and knew a ton about their craft, which makes for a great experience and really darn good coffee. Had an El Salvadorian pour over that was fruity and delicious. Can't wait to go back!
A perfect little spot for high quality coffee to go or for a quick meeting with a colleague or friend. Don't go to those big guys! 3 Bean is worth a trip! #smallthanks
No GFree...but all other items are good. Loved Latte and quiche.. less nuts please
Always great coffee, you can't go wrong with their pourover or seasonal drinks especially. Also have to highly recommend their croissant sandwich. Super friendly service on top of it all, might be the best overall coffee shop in Baltimore!
Great layout and excellent iced coffee, neither too bitter nor acidic
Very nice staff, clean and friendly. Coffee was great and I even got a free refill! Parking is the only drawback.
Excellent coffee and lattes. The staff is always very polite and the baristas are very skilled. Its a small shop so if you like to work and hold meetings many times there may not always be room. If you like to study... it can get loud because its very common for parents to hang around with their babies and toddlers. Parking isn't always great but that's normal anywhere you go in the city.
Delicious coffee drinks and a very friendly gentleman at the counter was very helpful
Very pleasant environment! Slight hipster vibe but not over done. Decent seating, divided into screen and non-screen sections (probably 10-12 seats per section) with great soundtrack. I went on a slow day (rain) and almost all of the screen section was full, so might be difficult to the find a study spot during peak hours. Excellent service. I got the overnight oats and a hot chocolate, both were tasty. Not too pricey. Parking was a slight nightmare, as the surrounding blocks have permit-only parking after two on Sundays and there are limited spaces in front of the building. I managed to get one of these metered spaces only after waiting and circling about for about 10 minutes. Might be fine on other times?
Got a Nutella latte and a croissant sandwich both were wonderful. The croissant sandwich has a blueberry jam on it, which may sound weird, but is a perfect combo of sweet and savory. The latte tasted as good as it looked, perfect for a brisk autumn morning. Thank you for a perfect breakfast!
Mocha and bacon croissant were excellent.
very tasty cafe very good service
Friendly staff, delicious lattes! Very cute place.
A mainstay in the Fed Hill craft coffee universe.
I had, quite honestly, the best latte of my life today at Three Bean. It was smooth, flavorful, and rich. I noted this to the barista, and he was very friendly in telling me about their new source of beans. Not that I think servers should be obligated to be friendly, but they always are at Three Bean. Definitely my new favorite.
The croissant was so tasty that we couldn't think to take a picture before digging in. I appreciate the great variety of non-dairy milks 3 Bean offers! My macadamia cafe au lait was superb. Although we took our order to go, it seems like a great spot to settle in and study, work, or enjoy a quiet moment.
Nice coffee shop with decent coffee, great view of harbor. I'm not giving 5 stars because the music was a loud for my taste
Best coffee I have had in the city yet. Highly impressed with the staff, very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend!
