Do yourself a favor and check out Quill. Not only do they have a diverse and fantastic selection of books, but the owners work hard to make the space inclusive and welcoming. Also their food is delicious- try the vegan banh mi!

Quill Books is a wonderful place to pick up a book, get a coffee or beer, or just hang out! Community bookstores like this are such an important part of any town, and I was just thrilled to see this one open in Westbrook. Highly recommended for shopping, eating and hanging out!

Quills is great - was just there for open mic night and was the perfect place to relax, enjoy a drink and a variety of local talents.

Went in for a light breakfast. The food and beverages were nice. Good breakfast sandwich. It was early and there were 3 people including us. The music was really loud. We asked the person working if she could turn it down a little. She said yes, but did not. We asked again and she got pretty snooty. When she came back to the tabke she told us if we didn't like the music we could sit outside. Too bad her attitude took away from a nice place.

Greg Bem

Incredible addition to Westbrook. The fact that there are so many events here makes this place far more than a simple book store cafe.

Ryan Best

Great space with great staff. Inclusive and welcoming with good food, coffee, and local beer.

Love quill! All the staff are super nice! Incredibly queer friendly space, lots of great events happening weekly! The coffee and tea drinks are awesome. The food is great, but on the pricier end in terms of cafe foods, but worth it a lot too. If you're looking for a fun thing to do, try their board game night, grab a coffee or a beer on tap and play some games! Also, prosecco on tap is always exciting!

Would be nice if they had more than one person working. Place crowded. Took over 25 minutes to get food

A wonderful place! The food and drink selections are creative and very fairly priced. The book choices are amazing, something for all ages. They even carry locally made notecards, artwork, and handcrafted pens. They have lots of events and are so welcoming.

Condescending barista made sure to tell me that "this isn't Starbucks"... Kind of ironic when this person didn't even make my drink correctly. See, I, too, have been a barista. The main difference between us is that I have manners.

Already my favorite coffee shop in New England! It’s cozy, welcoming, affordable, and has great food and books. It’s LGBTQ friendly and the owners have made it a great space for all kind of arts, politics, and game.

Leonard Tan

Great place and atmosphere. We go there 2-3 times a week to play games there. They have amazing food and their crepes are to die for! Be sure to try their spicy grilled cheese, pesto chicken panini, potato knish, salads, and bluberry crepes!

Great coffee shop / cafe / bar - great staff, tasty baked goods, sandwiches, and other small plates. Grab a latte in the morning, a beer with lunch, a glass of wine with dinner, and a used book to go along with each meal - it's all right here. Very family friendly, lots of space to sit, and overall a great atmosphere. Great place to work or study during the day, too. They also have a great selection of board games (and board game nights on Wednesdays) - everything from Boggle to Ticket to Ride to Dominion to Settlers of Catan.

Really nice atmosphere, broad options menu, everything I tried has been quite tasteful. The coconut water is on a specific refrigerator that makes it PERFECT for summer consumption.

Quill is one of my favorite places in the Greater Portland area. The atmosphere is unbeatable. I've been returning weekly since it opened. They have fantastic book and drink selections, a full event schedule, and an excellent staff. I've rarely felt so comfortable and welcome in another store. Their Board Game Nights have become the highlight of my week. I strongly suggest you check them out <3

Quill has a great selection of new and used books, food (vegan options too), coffee drinks, beer and wine. The atmosphere is comfortable and child friendly. They host a variety of events - from crafts and live music to Books in the Brook and board games... Westbrook is lucky to have this little gem!

Cool, spacious indy bookstore with an alternative bent, that has a bar that serves pastries, coffee, and wine & beer. Has books for all ages. Lots of seating for chilling, both inside and on the back patio.

These folks are absolutely the best new thing in town. 1) Great coffee, chai, pastries, toasts (eg avocado, or apple/brie/honey, or some spicy peanut butter thing). And... I dunno, a kindness board? You can buy a credit for some menu item to leave up on the board for someone else to take if they need it that day and don't have the resources. Brilliant. 2) Marvelous and growing book selection (mostly used but with some new stuff by local authors). I came in for caffeine my first time, and left 90+ minutes later with 5 books. 3) Games games games to play while hanging out! This includes family classics (monopoly, scrabble), my kind of board games (Catan, Betrayal at House on a Hill, Tsuro), numerous smaller games and card games (Hanabi, bananagrams), and some new titles I've been wanting to try (Azul). Overall- yay!

Emma McCabe

The perfect place to engage with interesting people and enjoy good coffee, great food and better drinks! The owners are the sweetest, most accepting people you could hope to meet! They support local artists and are building an inclusive community.

Toben Cooney-Callnan

The apple ricotta toast is unreasonably good! The staff is the funnest! The atmosphere is perfectly versatile! The events are well thought out! Basically, this place is the best thing to come to Westbrook for. Also, tip the servers generously because they deserve it!

Cecilia Low-Weiner

I love this place from the minute I walked in. You can just immediately tell how much thought has gone into the place. I spent hours at the bar, trying Prosecco cocktails, espresso drinks and some of their cheese and charcuterie. Everything was spectacular! They have tons of boardgames, not your average monopoly and Uno either, but really good strategy games that you can congregate with friends and play for hours. There is a chalkboard with community activities almost every night of the week- something for everyone. I can't recommend this place enough. If I could live inside it, I would!

Ayden LeRoux

Most inclusive bookstore I know of! The owners, Matthew and Allison, really put consideration into the books on their shelves and they create incredible community by hosting board game nights, live jazz, readings, and a whole host of other fun and inviting events.

The hummus plate and farmhand sandwich were delicious! I also had a very well made cappuccino. The space is big and bright with fun artwork on the walls. But dress warm in the colder months, the cement floor keeps it on the cooler side.

This is quite the hidden gem! I stumbled upon Quill when I was walking back to my car from House of Pizza and I couldn't be happier with the discovery. The place is huge and properly air conditioned, the food is SO good, and the drinks are just what you ordered. But more than that is the staff - top notch! Always smiling and attentive. They also have a bunch of events and live music, such as game night every Wednesday; they do have games on tap that you can play any night though! I've yet to be unimpressed.

Thoroughly enjoy the peaceful setting here on a weekday morning. Plenty of seating outdoors and in. Browse for a book or work on their WiFi. Options include coffee and Sandwhiches for the morning and beer taps for after work. Always a recommended spot to visitors in the area.

Great food, excellent coffee and iced tea, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere.

Great place to have some coffee, beer, lunch, snack, read a book, play one of their many game options, have a book club meeting and etc. I was so happy that they still had some pumpkin sauce for lattes. It was delicious. They also sell local bakeries goodies. Had a breakfast sandwich (available until 11:30am), on a Rose Foods bagel. Not the biggest fan of those bagels, would try the sandwich again if they change them.

ウエストブルックの1番好きなレストランですよ!Quill has, hands down, the best curated used book collection I’ve ever seen. Top it off with incredible sammies, coffees, beers, wines, board games, events, and crepes (those Maine blueberries!), and you’ve got yourself one of my favorite bookstores/coffee shops of all time!

Lauren Rantuccio

A great place to have an after work/ escape from life big kid snack, read a book, and pretend like you don't have responsibilities. Very chill, very creative. Great food, drinks, and tunes. Small but decent book selection that will likely grow over time as the space can afford more books because of its size. A huge departure from the average Westbrook faire, and wonderfully so.
