Our waitress was SUPER friendly. We found our new favorite ice cream flavor. I recommend the toasted coconut flavor. So good! The cookies were really good and HUGE!! Definitely try this place out!!

deborah wade

Great Little place. The blueberry pie with ice cream was awesome. Highly recommend this bakery. The apple pie looked very good too.

Kristen McDonald

The pizza was yummy, but the key lime pie was seriously the best I've ever had. The waitress recommended the chocolate crust, and it was delicious!

Pat Arnett

Great blueberry pie and a fun crowd!

Tiff Yarbrough

Love the ice cream and pie in this adorable, family run business right in town!

Brooke Jeffy

Great sandwiches and amazing fish chowder! Amazing pies and cookies. Friendly staff. Great find as we were driving around Acadia.

Mark Costaldi

Fresh from the oven coconut macaroons were to die for!

Donn Mielcarek

If the subs were any smaller, they would be considered bite-sized.

daniel Clarke

The islander pizza was absolutely fantastic! I come from the tri-state area where pizza quality is everything and this place wins my heart

Danya Gordin

Quietside is anything but quiet. It's bustling with patrons in line for their incredibly fresh out-of-the-oven pies, amongst other delicious baked goods. The owners and staff are friendly and loquacious, thus creating a genuine "small town" atmosphere. Also, so many adorable pups to play with! Not all of the food options are worth writing home about, but it's hard to really botch comfort food. See you on the flipside at quietside!

Janien Wilkens

Amazing blueberry pie! The staff are very welcoming and friendly; great atmosphere. An absolute treat. You will miss out if you don't try the pie:)

Cailin Nelson

Had the apple pie - by far the best I've ever had! Can't wait to go back to try the blueberry!

Le Binh Huy

I tried the lobster roll (15.95$) and the blueberry pie (5.95$). I must say the lobster is good, but small with on piece of lettuce, coleslaw and few pieces of chips. The blueberry pie, I did not like it, did not finish, perhaps it wasn't hot ? I have tasted many blueberry pie in Quebec, and it's lot better in my opinion.

Nancy Robinson

Yummy pie & ice cream

Alex Slifer

We went here on our first night in town (it was one of the only places open after our late arrival). As it happened, this was the correct choice. We ended up eating here no less than once a day for the rest of our trip. Their lobster rolls are incredible. Their chowders are amazing. Their ice cream is to die for (particularly the blueberry). The service was great and the prices were very fair. The food in this area is incredible (almost reason enough to make the trip from Illinois) and this is certainly no exception.

Clint Haris

enjoy some ice cream and inexpensive pizza. Good stop on the way to the park.

Paul Colbeth

Excellent

Will Huhn

Ice cream isn’t the best, but the pizza is supposed to be great

Dave Sill

Food was delicious, service was friendly, blueberry pie was awesome.

Jasen White

My first time there was today..and lemme tell u..they made me feel like family GREAT people GREAT food GOOD price

Ann Snyder

Very disappointed this year with Quietside cafe and will not return. A few nights ago, my husband and I attempted to have dinner there, but left after being ignored and not helped to find a seat. This evening I wanted to treat my husband to a nice piece of blueberry pie, so decided to stop in. .We ordered one slice of pie and one very large cookie. We were aghast when we were charged $11.02! We left in disbelief...but returned after looking in the container to see a very small piece of pie. We inquired about the price to be sure it wasn't a mistake. The gentleman told us the pie was $6.25 and the cookie was 3:95!!! Ouch!

Emilie Miller

Cute little place, crowded (you know it's good when there are people around). Outdoor picnic tables available, one is located right next to the window where the fresh made blueberry pies are cooling on racks. Made us salivate. Great pizzas too!

Katie Burrows-Stone

Great little spot for a quick bite or sweet snack. It’s a little family run restaurant with kind staff. My husband got a slice of Maine blueberry pie and it had the most buttery, flakey, delicious crust. Average prices.

Mike Dean

Nicest people we met on the island. Great pie and ice cream.

Janine Davies

Super homemade blueberry pie and wonderful ice cream to enjoy.

jeff scott

We have been going here since the 1990's. Everything we have ordered has been delicious. The lobster roll is overstuffed without too much mayo or extenders. Also a fair price. The picnic tables are a nice way to people-watch while eating.

Carly Batts

By far the best apple pie of my life. Raw oats, caramelized topping, and brown sugar throughout will have you wanting to take a slice home on the airplane. I got it warmed with a scoop of vanilla for the full experience.

John Nickell

The chocolate chip macaroon was great! They prefer cash, but take credit

Chris S.

Family friendly, good service.

Henry Quinn

Such a great place for a light lunch. Great pies!

Andrew Goldman

Everything is delicious, prices are reasonable, staff are the sweetest on the island.

David Melancon

Nice variety of favors. Exotic & unique.

Andee Friant

I came in on an uncrowded Sunday afternoon for a slice of pie and a cup of coffee. I sat by myself at a table set for two and was instantly ask to move to the counter. I was not offered cream or sugar for the coffee and was given the smallest slice of pie I have ever seen (nearly $9). The waitress took my plate the instant I put my fork down but did not offer to fill my coffee. She seemed so hostil that I paid my bill and left as fast as I could

Sara Baksa

Loved this little local place within walking distance to our cabin. The staff was nice and the crab cakes were wonderful.

Ashley Gray

Delicious breakfast sandwiches made in a timely manner!!! great customer service for a small town/island :)

Eric Clayberg

Our go-to place in Southwest Harbor for a quick lunch or dinner. Inexpensive and options for everyone in the family. Sandwiches and pizzas are great. Homemade pies are excellent. And don't forget to finish up with ice cream!

Ash GR

Nice little place, gets crowded really fast. Although the customer service could get faster, if they had indicated that there are two counters, one for ice-cream and remaining at the other, was told. There was only one line at the door, and we had to wait, for some time and then we were then told, if we are not ordering ice-cream, it's a another counter. Otherwise, food was good, the apple pie was great with a huge crust, The slice of the pie is kinda huge, and can be shared by two easily along with coffee.

Charlotte Mizelle

Busy little cafe.

Andrea Schoeny

Good ice cream, attentive staff. We rode our bikes over from our campground for dessert and were not disappointed. I had a coconut chocolate chip macaroon with a scoop of Wicked Good Chocolate ice cream. My partner had a Moose Tracks sundae on a gigantic chocolate chip cookie. Bring cash! It is not "cash only" but signs say they prefer you to pay with cash to keep costs down. Some cons: steps up to get into the restaurant (not for wheelchair or walker users). It was a very crowded dining area even with the restaurant only half full. (There's a counter and small tables; you likely would not be able to eat with a group bigger than 4.)

Matthew Parente

Seating is a little tight, but food and service were very good.

lighthouse Designs & Officiant Service

Family owned and served. Cute, clean, kids working were happy and all about giving friendly and prompt service. The food & treats were top notch!

Deron Hurst

Yum!

Cameron B

Delicious, rich, icecream and amazing delicious pastries and desserts! Very good and not overpriced!

Van Tran

Kind of small place...nice owner....yummy Maine wild blueberry pie which is why I came. Seafood pizza yummy also. Would come again whenever I visit.

Narlo Schiesser

Cute small restaurant and ice cream parlor... the blueberry ice cream is a WOW!

Patience Salisbury

The first time we went here we got pizza to go and it was amazing. That's the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. We went back a couple days later for some dessert and left very irritated. The place was packed with no open tables and it was raining. So we were going to get it to go. We got the fried cheesecake with ice cream. I asked if they could put the ice cream in a separate container so it wouldn't melt by the time we got home. We were told no because the ice cream went on top of the cheesecake. Yes.., you heard me right we were told NO. I had to pay more in order for that to happen. So after all that, we went to pay for it and showed the lady that we had a 10% off card we got form the resort we were staying at. Then we were told that we couldn't get the 10% off because she already rang everything up. I told her that she should still be able to enter the discount. So then the owner came over and said that the 10% off was only for food purchases. First of all.. Isn't cheesecake & ice cream food?? But anyway.. I told her the card said the 10% was off the total amount. She starting arguing with me so I said $3-$4 off isn't worth the headache and just forget it. I was going to pay full price. Then she got an additude and made us wait there until she figured out how to do the discount. So yea.. It was a horrible ending to a perfect day.

hahasu

Great key lime pie

Brenda Merritt

Best tadting lobster rolls around. Wonderful friendly people and great homemade food. The homebaked pies with their wonderful blueberry ice cream are terrific.

Brett James

Walked out. Six people working. I went to the bathroom while my partner waited - no service. He then went to the bathroom, I waited - no service. We both waited a bit more and called it quits.

Beau Lisy

Michelle Colley

Good food, a little pricey. Try the apple pie.

James Wilson

Great Ice Cream!

B J

This place is awesome. Easily the best blueberry pie I ate in my ten days in Maine. But somehow, even better than that was the key lime pie. Not too tart and that crust was out of this world. The wait staff was friendly and prompt. The owner came out from the kitchen and asked how things were. It's everything you want in a quaint little Maine town restaurant.

Cambie Wilson

It was ok, while my daughter and I were finishing our ice cream, my son was building a small tower with the creamers, not being destructive, just creative. We were laughing and my husband and I were encouraging his creativity, we weren't even being loud. But a lady came out and loud enough for every one in the shop to hear, reprimanded my son and I for playing with the food, and let us know we were not to do that. I get it if we were being destructive or loud, but it really embarrassed my son. She chose to humiliate and we will choose to go to any other shop but this one from here on out. It just wasn't done gracefully. And for heaven sake, if you don't want the condiments touched, take them off the table.

Jeanette Higgins

Homey, friendly neighborhood cafe

Marco Luna

Its a small place located in Southwest Harbor, it is a great option for a coffee and delicious homemade desserts. You can try the homemade pies and cokies, there are also a several options of italian ice creams. If you need lunch this is a great place too. Personal recomendation: Blueberry Homemade pie with a spoon of Ice Cream. It is not expensive.

Joel Sherman

Good place on the southwest harbor

James Hensel

Best macaroon I've ever had. Friendly staff, very accomodating. Good lobster roll. Oatmeal Chocolate chip cookie was dynamite.

Jeff McGivern

Great ice cream spot in town! We go 2 or 3 times every year while visiting MDI/SWH.

Raffael Joshua

Service was Curt but food was excellent. Place was packed so plan on a wait in the summer.

Iana Moss

Super cute tiny place! Pies are delicious!

Brian Dyck

Excellent lunch. We didn't have room for dessert.

Mark Scharf

The food was so good and the staff was very nice. Plus a great outdoors area to sit and enjoy the downtown with our pups! Loved it.

John Palfrey

Sierra Yerger

Ice cream was delicious! Great service and wonderful atmosphere!

Emily Adams

Overall unpleasant dining experience. All the food i tried was not very good, but my family did say they enjoyed the blueberry pie there. Rude waitstaff and slow service. If i had to eat there again, i would get my food to go.

Kate Best

Tasty ice cream and cute atmosphere, but it was a little busy and the staff adjusted to the evening rush by rudely herding customers around. I'd still go back- great ice cream.

Christoph Griesshammer

The ice cream was amazing. I think we ended up getting muddy boots but I can't remember the name. It had caramel and bits of brownie. Amazing! But the price is ridiculous. Around 4.50 for a small ice cream that was really a kiddie. And 75 cents for Hershey chocolate syrup??? And the woman was rude when we asked that it's really 75 cents since no where else have we ever paid for chocolate syrup. It's like a condiment with a hot dog, I wouldn't expect to pay for ketchup or mustard.

Sage Lightheart

Amazing home cooked meal finished with some deep fried cheesecake which rocked my world. A must if you're in the area.

Geoffrey Schrader

Sandwiches are just OK. Better known for their ice cream.

Joy Alphabet

Fred

A nice mom & pop shop. Love it!

Mary McCloskey

Stopped in with my husband for an ice cream on our last night on the island. Their sign said they closed at 8pm. It was 830 and a lovely owner and a server both welcomed us as well as many others behind us. Lovely place with a warm welcome. Would go back to eat lunch or dinner or dessert anytime. Prices well within reason for island life. Thanks for keeping your doors open late.

Lynette Eastman

What a lovely little cafe with wonderful food and service!! We love it here.

Lorna Vogt

Friendly, family vibe. Great food made with love.

Judy Duecker

Was awesome

Tom Chase

Small family owned place. Good food and lovely people.

Greg Montgomery

Over priced but family owned by good people

Jay Glanton

Been talking about this place for 7 year's clam bellies fried cheese cake you can't go wrong yummy

Doug Hardin

Outstanding ice cream and chowder.

Chris Leary

The food is outstanding! The best homemade pies on Mount Desert Island. I didn't give a 5 star because when they're busy (almost every time) the service can be very slow it's hard for them to keep up the demand with lines out the door. Worth the wait!

Paul Axtell

Was looking for dessert when we stepped into the Quietside Cafe. The blueberry and apple pie looked amazing so we ordered a slice of each to go. The blueberry pie was average, perhaps it was just a bit early in the blueberry season, but the apple pie was absolutely astonishing. I've had my share of apple pie and theirs was the best by far. Awesome crust and fantastic apples. Had we known it was going to be so good we would have taken the whole pie to go!

Chris Csatlos

Popped in for a quick bite. Had a really tasty crab cake and a milkshake. Only regret was not getting a slice of the gigantic Blueberry pie.

Debra Saltz

This is the best food in southwest harbor and the only place to get ice cream! The blueberry pie is heavenly. Definitely visit when you are in town.

Frank DeLaCerda II

Great burger, friendly service. I will be back!!!

B9 generation

This was a great find. We didn’t even know what this place was until we walked in saw the ice cream, pies, cookies and other sweets. Make no mistake, they offer “real food” as well, but we ate at Acadia Jordan Pond House an hour earlier. ...We met the owner - a lovely fun lady from Ghana, who set us right there at the bar you see on the photo. We felt right at home. See if you feel the same way about this place when you visit Acadia National park on your next trip.

kamaksi24

I really liked the place and their pizzas are very good. The prices are a little high, but i get they know tourists are wandering through and will pay just about anything for ice cream. If the prices were a little lower i would give it 5 stars.

Jessica Oakes

Great food, wonderful service in a prime location. Ordered take out, and they are very fast. I liked it all except the nuts on the apple pie. Ended up tossing it when I got to where I was going because allergies make things more difficult sometimes. Still a strong 5 stars!

Hyper Pixel

Very friendly staff, amazing ice cream, and all around great atmosphere

Denise LeBegue

Great home-cooked meals & desserts. Super - nice people too! Loved this place. Don't forget a piece of pie.

Javan Douglas

It's a great place to eat l, the staff are friendly and the food is amazing.

Norris Heintzelman

Been coming here for years. Lobster stew is excellent. Owners and staff are so friendly, it feels like going to a friend's house to eat. We end up here for ice cream every evening.

Alan Fineman

Wonderful food. If for nothing else go for the best blueberry pie on MDI. Lobster and fish chowder we're amazing. Great service and owner was very warm and friendly.

Jean Ng

A good place to end our day after a lobster fest dinner nearby. Very friendly family owned business

Nick

$7 for two small soft served ice creams, overpriced. Also dont put takes credit card if you dont take it. Is it that hard to run a decent business

Jennifer Nutt

All . had was ice cream but it was tremendous

Chris Sullivan

5× the price it should be! Strait scam artists

Anh Pham

Great comfort food. Laid back

Allison Memmelaar

Ice cream was super small servings for the price we paid. Service was slow. Would find another place for dessert.

Alissa Czyz

Flat out some of the best pizza we ever had. (Coming from a New Yorker that’s a compliment). Super friendly staff and anything you want on the menu. Baked goods are pristine too!

Valerie McAfee

The place is small but always packed so what does that tell you? The food is delicious! The ice cream and desserts were amazing! The staff extremely friendly and happy! A great place to eat ! A great place for dessert. The prices are very fair. A must stop in for all in Southwest Harbor,Maine.

Tim Callaghan

Take my advice, get one (or more) of their pizzas, enjoy the conversation with your server and the rest of the staff, and save some room for a dessert of blueberry pie. You won't regret the scenery along the way as well as getting out of the overly congested bar harbor downtown. Life is good.

Joshua Eickmeier

We went once for ice cream and blueberry pie, which were both great. We also went back for sandwiches and lobster stew at 9 pm since this is the only local restaurant serving food at that time. Out waitress was super helpful even though it was clear her shift was ending.

Joshua Boyle

Ice cream is well worth the stop! Had something with the word lobster in it (no lobster actually in it) and another one that was a darker chocolate. Both were fantastic!

Mary Jacob

I came here for the blueberry pie mentioned in other reviews, and it did not disappoint! That pie will haunt my dreams, it was so good. The pizza was wonderful, as well!

dani m

Blueberry pie was off the hook. Good amount of people but not crowded. Easy to park and walk to for a quick bite.

Stephen Shellabarger

Very busy during peak hours, but you can't go wrong with the ice cream and other dessert items.

Jhnns Grsnp

the maple walnut icecream is soooo good

Edward Shitrumple

Ate here twice during my stay on mount desert island and both times the meals were wonderful, served quickly, and priced fairly. The owner was very kind and greeted us both times and asked us how things were. The waitresses were also very pleasant and attentive. Would recommend to anyone.

Zach Evans

Lovely staff and good ice cream. Wish they were year-round!

Winnie Teichmann

Standing in front of the store you are greeted by the smell of rancid fat. Unfortunately things got worse when we got greeted by the very unfriendly owner who seemed to have little interest in us eating at her place. We stayed nonetheless and regretted it: the food is mediocre at best.

Heather MacFarland

Delicious home cooked food in a quaint town that reminds you of happiness in life. Friendly people and outdoor seating!

Jan Tuttle

We were told to go here for blueberry pie, and we were not disappointed! So yummy! The perfect afternoon treat!

Michelle Dudley

Friendly staff, good portions, and great milkshakes!

matt schuman

Great little restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The sliders were good. Our group sampled most of the menu and enjoyed it all.

Jen Compton

Beethoven the Last

Thanks guys great job good show gotta go let's go

Ray Kenyon

One of the few good meals we had on MDI this week. No hype, just good food. Seafood pizza was awesome. I finished off dinner with a delicious chocolate chip cookie topped with hand dipped ice cream.

Cheryl Presser

Very small and quaint, good food. Wonderful pies.

Ty Wahlbrink

Probably the best value (and even food in general on MDI). The lobster roll was incredible... And their pie. Well, you will just have to taste it for yourself. Great outdoor tables at the main intersection in SW Harbor makes good people watching.

Adam Janecke

It was a fun experience, Mrs. Francis engaged with everyone that came in and she was pretty funny. It is a small little shop with enough seating for 6 tables but nothing else. We had a giant cookie, two slices of blueberry pie and a slice of apple pie(Ala mode of course). It was expensive, but really what isn't expensive on the island. Worth your time.

Jason Ang

Staff was friendly and helpful. I got the blueberry pie takeaway and ice cream on top. Pie was delicious and the maple walnut ice cream a great complement. Highly recommended.

c g

Best coconut ice cream!!!!!

Dave Pelletier

Fast efficient staff, good food.

Leighann Breeze

Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Maine black bear and toasted coconut. Also tried the blueberry pie - served warm with ice cream. All of it is good!

Abby Muirhead

Amazing ice cream and great service!!

Bev Manning

Excellent food! Home cooking. Friendly atmosphere. A real find!

Sarah L

Great stop off. Salad was super fresh and the staff a delight. The place was spotlessly clean and very reasonably priced. Recommend

M Reaves

I haven't even finished eating and I'm writing this review. Great little cafe with friendly service and the lobster stew was tasty and almost all lobster. The pies are so delicious, the ice cream is creamy and excellent (huge scoops) and the macaroons are some of the best this side of Paris. What a great find!

Steve Wright

We had pizza which was very good. It was a thicker crust so it was nice and chewy with the right proportions of cheese and sauce. The pepperoni was just right. Not too spicy or greasy. We got the 12 in size and that was almost too much to share. For desert we had the Key Lime pie with chocolate crust and the Apple pie with ice cream. Both were excellent. The key lime pie was light with just the right balance of sweetness and tartness and the chocolate crust added another layer of flavor that really took it to another level. The owner said it was her mother’s recipe. The Apple pie had an amazing caramelized crumble topping that must have been an inch thick. The apple filling was cooked to perfection and did not overpower the flavor of the pie. All the deserts are made in house and it shows. It is a small place but very cozy. It has a real homey feel with lots of family pictures on the wall. The staff was super friendly and the owner circulated around the small dining room and talked with everyone there. A number of the people had obviously been there before since the staff recognized them as soon as they walked in. We have been in the area now for over a month and have eaten at many places and this one is the most welcoming by far.

Ukiyo

Superb place with great service. Ice cream and pastries, especially the blueberry pie, are delicious!

Derek Hart

Bill McFarlane

Friendly staff and great service.

Rachel Torrens

Pie is too die for. I went there 2 days in a row because of the apple pie. They also have reasonably priced kids food! And the staff is super sweet and quick.

Ryan Huffman

After reading the great reviews, we were disappointed. The food was decent but nothing special. The portions were very small and the service wasn't very good. We waited quite awhile to get refills even though several workers walked past many times. We were hoping to find a place to go back multiple times as there menu sounded good. We'll just find somewhere else next time though.

Greg Stewart

Pie and service are always amazing!

Toni Freeman

Stop here every year for the blueberry pie ! Dog friendly outdoor seating right in the middle of town

Sam Gibson

Great key lime pie but they only have Gifford's ice cream, not homemade...

A Kernaghan

Delicious ice cream, a great small cafe atmosphere and a great selection of food that I'm going to have to try next time I'm here.
