Good little cafe.
Great Vegan Breakfastk
We enjoyed our lunch in this cozy cafe. Great menu and fresh food, like eating in someone's kitchen. The Cobb salad was particularly good. There is table service here which was a nice surprise. Plenty of parking nearby. I would return for another delicious lunch or try breakfast.
Great selection of ceramics and the food is good too!
Portland Pottery Supply is where potters all over New England buy their clay and other raw materials. The cafe is in their gallery and retail space; the food is very good and always fresh. My favorite is the curry chicken salad.
Late breakfast was fantastic, and woooah, what about smokin' homemade desserts. All delicious and the friendliest staff ever. Make this a stop for a meal well above the norm. Top ranking!
Super friendly staff with amazing food! You an pick out a unique mug and serve yourself a cup of coffee. They also have a lot of pottery available for purchase.
Fantastic food. We had the Reuben and the "Late Riser" breakfast wrap, followed by a massive slice of carrot cake. Their tray bakes and cookies look awesome, too! Head next door to check out the ceramics gallery and workshop after your meal.
Fun spot, good food!
My family of 6 including a 3 year old travelled to Portland, Maine to spend the day. We started our visit at this cafe. When we placed our orders the waitress informed that they were busy. Several guests arrived after us, ate and left and we still didn't have our orders. I inquired about how much longer it was going to take for us to receive our meals and a waitress was a little insensitive and reiterated how "stacked" they were and that they were working as fast as possible. We waited an hour and a half for our meals. The food was delicious but not worth the long wait. The prices are reasonable. My family is on the fence about returning to this cute cafe. The wait was just too long.
Yummy food and chill atmosphere.
Quaint environment, easy parking situation, and I love using cups made in house for my coffee instead of disposable ones
I hesitate to tell you how amazing this place is because I want to keep it to myself.
Good food and customer service. Fun atmosphere with interesting pottery all around.
A great place for brunch/lunch. Portland Pottery Cafe is located on the East End, right near Silly's and Maine Mead Works. The interior is clean and cozy, and the staff are really friendly and seem to enjoy working there. You can also buy pottery and handcrafted mugs, all of which are on sale once you get inside. The food is delicious, with great prices on sandwiches and especially their amazing soups and stews. You just can't go wrong. The only drawback is that the inside can't seem to warm up too well in the winter, and aside from that - wait times tend to be on the longer side. However, Portland Pottery Cafe is one of my favorite places for brunch or lunch in the area. You will not be disappointed.
Yum! Such a great spot to pop in for breakfast or lunch. Food is amazing and fresh coffee.
Hello, I bought a small coffee, excellent, the place is clean, the employees were informative and friendly and on a parting note, I bought a superb and huge muffin that was LOADED with fresh blue berries.
Great place, great food, on a super, walkable street in a classic part of Portland
These people are amazing. Always giving back to the community. Great comfort food, super friendly service
Great staff/service!
They take reservations! Plus the have delicious gluten free and dairy free options according to my family. It's fun that the back half of the restaurant sells pottery supplies and we love that the mugs are one of a kind made in house!
Great local place. Interesting artists are reasonable prices.
Very nice staff, great atmosphere and great food.
Pick a mug, any mug! Great food in a cute homey atmosphere! What’s not to like? Oh and all day breakfast too!
Love the homey atmosphere and breakfast. The corned beef hash was perfect. Also love that you can pick your own mug for coffee. And, you can shop for pottery after. Love it!
Mediocre. Limited menu, simple Italian fare. No espresso.
Very good breakfast, nice staff, and understanding of people with Celiac's who are gluten free.
Love this unique place!!!! their cakes are delish, but huge portions.. Staff were the friendliest..
Excellent breakfast. Good portions friendly waiters and affordable.
A true hidden gem! Breakfast was delicious! And the house made jelly was a fantastic touch. The most-match chairs, cups and dishes added to the quaint ME charm. Glad we stopped in!!
Great food great service
Very mediocre food and service. There are plenty of other better options nearby that I'd recommend you check out instead.
At first, I was very disappointed. Here with one of my families of 6, we were looking for something quick and easy. Then we saw that the place was full. They said that they would be right with us if we could sit outside. We did but about five minutes later it started to rain. We came inside and waited forever to get a table and be seated together. But boy, did they compensate for it!! With not only fantastic food, they gave us a huge free brownie and 30% off of the entire meal! They were very nice and apologetic!
Rustic and intriguing decor with extremely friendly owner husband and wife business. The sandwiches are tasty. We tried the Reuben and salmon sandwich , highly recommended. The desserts are also not to be missed. Chocolate mousse cake is amazing and the carrot cake is tasty with solid portions. Definitely highly recommended I'd your're in the area.
Yummy food and.out of this world desert s
Really good food, service and prices.
Amazing food sourced locally. Fantastic mugs and other ceramic dishes.
Delicious breakfast in a unique spot.
Lots of great pastries.. sandwiches are yummy too. Soup and sandwich is your best bet. Yum.
Needs to work on efficiency
Unique place. Interesting menu. Great food!
Food was very good, service was as good as the food and the Cafe was charming. Perfect for lunch or dinner.
Nice place, I had an excellent Reuben sandwich
Good food, good decor, good service.
Probably my favorite breakfast sandwich spot. Pretty basic but freaking delicious.
The food here is amazing. And they have spicy hot chocolate!
The lemon tarts alone deserve star after star after star... Great lunch...taken there.by a friend. I will be going back.
Everthing a potter could need including great coffee.
Really great food at a decent price
Desserts are delicious and food fresh and tasty. If you like blueberry muffins with alot of blueberries like me you will be in heaven. Yummy
Floyd and I have eaten here a few times since last summer. Each experience has been perfect. Thank you for being open on Mondays. Today I read that you serve italian dishes Thu-Sun evenings. I'm looking forward to that.

Friendly staff, unique atmosphere, good food.
Super nice people, awesome food - even for vegans!!! Great pottery and scrumptious Maine blueberry muffins!
We're from out of town; the folks here served us awesome food and were so kind. Free coffee in handmade cups, pottery made on site, baked goods, we'll be back!!
This place makes me wish I lived in Portland! Such a cute and unique atmosphere with unreal food that is insanely well priced. Between the four of us, we ordered a burger, a veggie burger, the sweet potato and avocado panini, and the biscuits and gravy. We all devoured our meals and continued reminiscing on them for the rest of the day. The owners were both so nice and treated you like old friends. Definitely stop if you are in the area!!
Rad menu, thoughtful service. Absolutely plan to visit again!
Had the "Mighty New Englander", which is an awesome concoction! The food was truly amazing and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous!!
Big breakfast.
Come for the ceramics and not the food.
They had toys, paper, and crayons for kids! Lots of pottery for sale, and staff was lovely.
Everything I have ever eaten here has been delicious. Particularly fond of their daily soups and their omelettes. Super tasty coffee and I love that you can pick your own ceramic mug. My fav place to have casual business meetings.
Excellent!
Fantastic breakfast
Salmon BLT was great. LOVE the pottery!
food was very good, would recommend
Amazing service and staff a must stop by
So awesome!! Got a spoon!!
My wives family lives just flew blocks away from this gem of a place in Portland, ME. Great menu with interesting names, and the food tastes great. Also get to see pottery made by local artists.
Why is veganizing your food more expensive than getting it as is with dairy and meat? If plant based foods are expensive than animal products, what is that saying about the quality of these animals that are being raised for food? what is it doing to your body? Cute cafe and loved the idea of a Pottery Cafe, but NOT an ideal place for plant based diet people. If you are trying to be meat or dairy free, I would say this may not be the place for you. However, if you eat everything, then... carry on. I ordered the El Ranchero and asked for no meat and subbed the eggs with tofu and veggies. I asked for avocado and english muffin. The El Ranchero supposed to come with "black beans and corn salsa", I misunderstood that and thought it comes with good amount of black beans. I come to find out that the "black beans" included in the description is like 10 pieces mixed in with the salsa. I asked for extra beans and I got more salsa with with 7 more pieces of beans lol I let it go and started seasoning my food before eating it, you know why. Half way through, I noticed a pieces of bacon in my plate. I wont come back here again, and if you're on plant based diet, this is not the place for you. Good luck to everyone else. I wish you good health and long life.
Delicious food
I have had breakfast here three times and cake here once. They food i've had has been very good. The menu is good and incorporates more veggies than your run of the mill breakfast place. Most things seem freshly made to order. The coffee is good. (so you get the long, the food here is good!) :) Coffee is self serve, but you get to pick a beautiful handmade ceramic mug to drink it out of while you are there. I go back for the buttered toast with raspberry preserves. Those preserves are the best I've ever had, I've even started trying to make my toast at home like they do and always fall short. The cake I got there was out of this world as well. I suspect all of the baked goods are. The pottery sold there is made in the studio next door, I believe, by a variety of artists. There are many solid good looking pieces that people will likely love for at least a lifetime. The open layout, pretty displays, wood floor, and street view windows make sitting and eating in there a pleasure like no other I have experienced in Portland. It is truly an escape from the everyday.
This quaint little cafe was one of the highlights of my Portland visit. Great vibes, excellent food, a must-do for breakfast!
Delicious, fresh food. Order the Early Riser and the Great New Englander. Service was a bit slow, but it was their busiest time, Saturday brunch. Highly recommend! Homey
Muffin is pretty good but not great. Enormous though. Good thing I didn't eat lunch!
Great food, love all the coffee cups to choose from!
Phenomenal service and food to match. A must visit if you're in the area. Michelle is great!
Great place and food
Nice little pottery store. I have yet to eat here
I love this place so much! I eat here often and every time the food is amazing! The other day I got the flour less peanut butter cookie and it was the best cookie ever !
Loved everything..
This place totally blew me away. First off - shame on me for judging a place by it's cover. The outside may look drab, but the inside is anything but. Self serve coffee and water in home-made pottery mugs is a huge win for anyone looking for that home-y feel with coffee that is excellent (not bitter, not espresso) in a very cute, clean cafe. Second - the menu is rather exhaustive. They have everything for Vegans, veggitarians, and carnivores. Plus, the prices are beautiful (full plates = $10. No 0.99 or anything other than .00 or .50). Third - the food was incredible. Not greasy, full of flavor, hot, and served on home-made pottery. PPC is a hidden gem. Go whenever you can!
What a cool cafe concept for a pottery shop! My husband and I had brunch here and had a lovely time. The mimosas were flowing, the brunch food offerings were top notch and the service was perfect. My only wish is that it was cooler inside. Being sweaty while eating breakfast is not exactly ideal. But other than that we loved it!
Great menu & staff. Very mellow atmosphere. Try it, you’ll like it!
Quaint atmosphere, good service, quickly got our meal that we split. Everything was great!!! Watermelon salad was a nice touch and the sweet potato and avocado panini was to die for!!!!
What a fun place! Wish we lived closer so we could go more often! Walk in and pour yourself a cup of coffee into one of the handmade mugs that artisans make in the pottery studio out back, then sit down and try to decide on your meal...so many choices, only so much stomach space! The service is super friendly and the space is so comfy, you could easily pass the morning eating and reading the paper without even realizing it. Go....you won't be sorry!
I gave it 4 instead of five for a good reason. The food was amazing. Fresh, clean and made to order. However, I am allergic to sumac and one of my food items (the sausage) had no ingredient list.I really like this place and I don't want them to have a problem because of something so silly. We will be coming back to make some pottery at one point too
Reuben was phenomenal, well grilled and great value. You can check out local pottery to buy while waiting for your sandwich
coffee mugs were a bit dirty and despite the food being pretty good there was a piece of plastic in my friends food. it's a cool idea but we probably would go again
Stopped in today with a few friends as we were passing through town! Got the Blueberry Cheese Cake. Totally amazing. I would reccomend stopping in to try one of their amazing slices!
We need more places like this. The staff are so knowledgeable about the art of ceramics. I got everything I needed with tons of good advice from the staff. The food was EXCELLENT!
sweets were amasing, wish they had better tea selection (maybe some nellie's tea?). love the pottery meets cafe concept
Great breakfast
Awesome food and staff
Absolutely delicious brunch place! It is a treat to find vegan options for brunch and this place has a great Vibe as well
Average food, bit too Diner like, staff friendly though
Cozy and delicious
Great coffee and food. Friendly service. Beautiful pottery.
Phenomenal food and service..lovely owner.. Bob the Baker is pure genius. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AAA+++
Well...the staff is great, but my breakfast was incredibly oily. The coffee is par. Cool spot, but maybe lunch is better?
The environment is nice and cozy and overall the hospitality of the staff was friendly. I ordered the tofu scramble and as a vegan I am constantly searching for thoughtful food prepared with care. While this establishment does have a few vegan options, which I appreciate, my dish was bland and appeared and tasted hastily put together by someone with no experience cooking vegan. There are other vegan breakfast options in Portland that excel better in serving quality vegan food made with care.
Simply the best. Is there a six star rating? - tons of character, amazing food, gorgeous pottery, great coffee, super friendly and charasmatic staff ... What more could you ask for. A must when passing through Portland.
Best breakfast experience ever!!!
Amazing food, crazy good ingredients and super pleasant wait staff!
This breakfast changed my life. Their homefries are a force to be reckoned with, and that's a good thing. A very good thing.
Cutest spot, GREAT food, FANTASTIC service, daily specials, locally sourced ingredients (order the breakfast sausage). What more could one ask for?
The best pastrami I've ever had! Amazing breakfast, and that's going a ways in this foodie town
There is not a single thing wrong with this restaurant! The food was amazing with both taste and presentation, the staff were friendly and had wonderful personalities, and the atmosphere felt very inviting. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is a fan of old fashioned Italian food.
Incredible food and perfect portions! This place is a gem
Coffee was really good but kinda pricey for a cup of coffee. Tried the blueberry muffin, grilled it when I got home and it was super good.
The locals are going to kill me, but this place is great. Bakery items are killer, and everything in the menu is delicious. I had the late riser burrito, which isn't really a burrito, but a great combination of egg, sausage potatoes and peppers. The jam for the toast tasted like Grandma's best.
What a treat!! We had frittata followed by a huge piece of carrot cake!! Everything was yummy!!! Wonderful staff who were friendly and attentive. M m good!!!
Yummy grub!
Amazing food, relaxed atmosphere, great service. Tons of gluten free options.
Great food! Frittatas are delicious, as are mimosas. Our daughter had the avocado and sweet potato sandwich and husband had the Black Bear breakfast with the pastrami "hash" ( really just strips of meat) and scrambled eggs on top.
Best corned beef hash I have ever had. Jam is fantastic as well.
Excellent food.
Great atmosphere and staff. The breakfast omelette was cooked perfectly with delicious vegetables. The house made corned beef hash was the best I ever had. This was my second visit and can't wait to return. Portland is lucky to have this establishment. Will definitely also try their new Italian dinner menu soon.
Great salad, little slow but food waa good
Traveling through to Acadia and this was one of our stops. Delicious food, great service, awesome atmosphere. The Mighty New Englander is amazing! Thanks for the experience!!
So awesome
Tasty tofu scramble! Friendly staff & nice atmosphere.
The first place I went back to a second time since my arrival. Why? Mornings cafe and evenings comfort Italian.
Amazing lunch! huge portions - and very cute interior aesthetic
