The food is fantasic!! If you get an appetizer I definitely recommend the Discovery, it's just popping with flavor. The Fish and chips are delightful, I actually saved the dipping sauce from my appetizer for the fish. It was yummy with the fish and the fries too. The restaurant is fun and very eclectic, and our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. The menu it's a crazy but delicious fusion I've never seen before.
Same wonderful food. Must make reservations. The combination of flavors makes it so special. Not your ho-hum type of restaurant.
Great food, good service, interesting menu
One of Rocklands first starting places into the farm to table options and though the menu is enormous the food is perfect everytime we have gone(40+ in four years). The foccacia bread is made daily and with oil vinegar mix on table makes the best start to any meal. Enjoy you won't be disappointed
The restaurant is amazing! Great service, and flavorful food, I highly recommend this place!
Favorite restaurant in Rockland. Hands down
I have worked and eaten here. Indoor and outdoor seating, amazing food, and relaxing atmosphere.
One of my favorite places in the area. They often have a good beer selection. Their focaccia is so delicious and is automatically brought out. The menu is huge and I have yet to have anything I don't like on it. Prices are reasonable and portions are often quite large. It is a small place so I recommend reservations.
Big menu with choices from around the world. My pierogies were very good, if not a jumble of different stuff on a plate. Service was very good, and my friend said her lobster sandwich was very good as well.
Friendly and good service. Food quality superb. Selection beyond All expectations. Been here 10 days and just discovered this gem. Going back tomorrow night. Make your reservations ahead of time. A must stop if we ever revisit Rockland.
Best meal of the trip, make sure you order the focaccia basket if your meal doesn't include it. Lovely staff, delightful patio for a July lunch
The food was very good and the service was amazing! This is the place to go in Rockland.
OMG Delicious!! A dinner must in Rockland.
The vibe is cool and fun, and the food is fabulous!
Went in for coffee to go, because Rock City was closed after 6pm. I knew Cafe Miranda serves Rock City coffee. Miranda's staff was gracious with helping me.
Been here multiple times. Everything is delicious and large portions.
Hole in the wall, but great experience. Good food. Good beer. Good service. Make a reservation.
Very popular restaurant for dinner but we went for lunch and there was no problem getting a table and the service was attentive. Had the pork sandwich at it was very good. Homemade bread and the mustard sauce was very tasty and a bit spicy which was to my liking. The hot mess sandwich which is brisket was lacking flavor and bland would steer clear of that one. Very large menu but they were out of a couple items like crab. Not sure if I would go back.
A neighborhood staple. These are some hardworking cooks/staff, putting out some really tasty food! Love the lamb wowie soooo much flavor. Soul food!
Food is awesome during the summer can be very loud if you have to sit inside if it's hot outside
Miranda is always on stop for me when I visit Maine! Best dinner I've eaten in forever!
Awesome dinner place, but I like their lunch options best. Those fries!
Great place to eat...fun atmosphere! It's small so I recommend reservations. You can enjoy eating al fresco during the summer. Huge menu and to die for bread made in their brick oven. I've never been disappointed in a meal.
Amazing food. Not your standard fare. The dishes are creative takes on classics. Flavorful with well blended ingredients. Full portions, you won't leave the table hungry. Be open minded and be prepared to be wowed.
Love, love, love this place! Great atmosphere and the food is AMAZING! Make a reservation.... It's very small.
Great food, once I finally decided. So many choices, and cute quirky names.
I needed Restaurant redemption as I have had some bad experiences lately. I got it here at Cafe Miranda. From the greeting at the front door to the exceptional meals, we were extremely impressed. The enormously huge menu that one would think might be impossible to expedite by the three chefs in the kitchen was in fact nothing for them as they whipped up food for a room full of people effortlessly and each dish looked amazing. We sat at the chef bar, what a treat to watch them work. I highly recommend and can't wait to come back.
Been going here for years. Flat out my favorite place to eat.
The food is good, although the portions are slightly excessive. The atmosphere is friendly, but the indoor acoustics sometimes make conversation difficult (it gets loud)
Amazing food in a little cafe.
Wide ranging menu with everything being fantastic.
Food is very tasty and the staff friendly.Only complaint is that the servings are too big resulting in wasted food. Sandwiches should be cut in half in kitchen to make them easier to eat.
Great egg rolls. Brisket excellent. Tables to close inside. I would go again. Outside on a nice night would be awesome. Better table would have likly have been 5 star.
Long successful cafe. Wonderfully creative menu, food pairings, quality, service, portions. You will love the experience. A really fine dining and somewhat kitschy establishment.Perfectly located next to everything in Artsy Rockland. A gem!
Been visiting in the US for 2 weeks and this is the best food we've had so far.
The best place to eat in Rockland since 1994!
A perfect experience. I’m grateful for Cafe Miranda in a town that shutters in the winter. The food was exceptional and the service warm, attentive and friendly. Thank you Edna. A beautiful eclectic little place that feels like home.
Cafe Miranda has the most diverse and delicious selection of foods in Rockland. You can taste the quality and care of the ingredients in every bite. The staff and environment also make for a fun and relaxing outing. Love it!
The chowder is a meal unto itself, loaded with potatoes, thick chunks of bacon, corn, red onion and a large piece of fish, I'm guessing haddock, swimming in the creamy broth. Paired with their delicious crusty herbed bread and some tasty red wine - it was divine. They have a huge menu. I also got the fish tacos, not realizing the size of the chowder. Somehow I managed. They were delish as well.
My favorite localrestaurant. Great vegetarian and omnivore options. Fresh, local ingredients. Creative, extensive menu. Fresh bread. Cozy! Van get a little loud when restaurant is full due to acoustics.
Very good food here. The bread basket had good variety. The inside of the place is funky and intimate. The outdoor seating area looked good also. Reservations recommended, we heard several people without reservations being told to come back in an hour, or more. Definitely worth a visit.
Loved it, service, food!
Huge menu, great food, great bread, great service – and the prices are reasonable. It's a little crowded, a little dark, and a little warm, but I think those are all part of "the atmosphere" that they're going for. Every time I walked by it was packed, and -make sure- to make reservations. There is both outdoor and indoor seating available.
Great food and service!
My go to restaurant in Rockland. Everything in the menu is excellent, and with such a large menu, that is saying something. You may want to plan ahead because there is usually a wait.
Great food, great atmosphere! Sat at the bar, what's the cook's, they were in sync and always communicating. I will be going back! The cafe has inside and outside seating.
This place was recommended by a friend. Looking at the menu, I had my concerns because the menu was HUGE. Gordon Ramsey always rips small places with giant menus because how can they possible keep up with the freshness for all of the ingredients? My fears quickly dissipated, as the food was fantastic and obviously very fresh. Everything was cooked & seasoned perfectly and had a nice flair to it. My wife ordered a small plate and it was almost as big as my large plate - good stuff. We'll definitely go back to try more things.
Great food
I have eaten and worked here for many years intimate environment great staff has a lot of character and history. Two bathroom witch can be worth checking out in themselves. Brick oven used daily. In the past smoked food if quite good but can be strong, they smoke it themselves. Hand made pasta. Home made meatballs. And they try to deal local and fresh. Portions are often large. I personally would split something and maybe get an appetizer. Also they have great desserts and used to have homemade ice cream I'm not sure if that's still true. But if it is highly recommend.
Cafe Miranda catered my wedding and we couldn't be happier with the amazing taste and uniqueness of their food. Would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you for a perfect food.
Just okay
Attended annual Flock Party great atmosphere and all around fun time.
Super average. Menu was huge - would have taken 20 minutes to read everything. Food was all just ok (specials, seafood pastas, meatballs) -- we could definitely have made better versions at home. Beer and cocktails were meh. I'm not sure why this is so highly rated (and recommended by many). There is nothing special about it. Maybe it's good if you are eating with kids? If you are an adult who appreciates good food, go to Sammy's instead.
If you want a superior dining experience this is your place. Homemade bread and outstanding menu.
I came here for a good meal as it was recommended by friends. Our waitress did not come to our table for at least 20 min to take a drink order. It was not that busy inside to be neglected. She never came back to ask for drink refills. We had to ask twice for more water. We wanted another adult beverage, but not worth spending more money there. When we got our food, my tacos were so wet. It was like they heated up the tortilla and left it on the plate for a while. So when I picked up my taco it all fell out from the bottom. They did remake the taco and took it off the bill, which was nice. I wouldn't bother going here again. The food was not worth the money and the lack of neglect from the waitress.
As always; I can't say enough about Cafe Miranda. I had the mussels in a Veracruz type sauce. Exceptional!!
Loved it! Great menu and interesting and eclectic decor.
Always excellent service and amazing food. Don't mind the prices because the portions feed you for days.
Pretty good food. Seating is a bit cramped. Kids meal is expensive for just simple frozen stuff.
Excellent food and proportions no where better..number ONE place to eat in maine.
The menu is huge and eclectic, and I was concerned this would mean a lack of focus and subpar food. I couldn't have been more wrong. My wife and I shared four different dishes for lunch and each one had so much flavor! The Honky-Tonk egg rolls were incredible. Also the "shorty" beer glasses are the perfect size for a taste of craft beer with lunch. This cafe has something for everyone on the menu, and you can be confident every item is on the menu because it earned its spot!
Eclectic place with a vast menu cooked on a wood fired grill. A must stop. The haddock chowder is incredible.
Way too much going on with their menu for them to be able to deliver reliably consistent, good food.
Great food with numerous choices for all tastes and diets! Loved the roasted greens with added grilled scallops.
Always a treat! Sitting up at the bar watching the cooking was a lot of fun!
Great food and excellent service
Large food portions and friendly staff
Delightful, fun, energetic space with amazing food and great service! It came highly recommended by locals and now I know why!! Absolutely delicious!!
An astonishingly creative and trendy restaurant, featuring wild takes on comfort food themes.
Fantastic comfort food in a festive atmosphere. Even great on Sunday nights! Just wish they were open between 2 and 5...otherwise 5 star b/c great bang for buck. Also great if you have grumpy teens! Large outdoor patio
Very delicious.
Off the chart lobster sandwich & hot dogs
Atmosphere, food, and, service are all very good. Menu is eclectic and imaginative.
Delicious, unique menu and food. Great service.
Always creative and delicious. Endless faccia bread and generous portions a good food. Intimate and limited indoor seating, worth any wait.
Best meal in Maine so far. A very nice spot with a complete menu and great service. We were told that the pizza is particularly good, but I had the Dan Dan dish, and it was delicious. Also the brexit ale was very nice.
Cute restaurant. Decent tasty food but not worth the money. Way overpriced. Often crowded and overrated. The complimentary bread is cold and chewy. Really, how hard is it to keep bread warm?
Very good food, one of the best in Rockland.
Unusual choices. Excellent!!
Lovit! Best to make reservations if you want to go here...they're very popular
Busy Monday night at Miranda's. Had the brick oven pizza with a couple of small plates. Menu is extensive enough to satisfy any palate. Great food and beer choices.
Some of the best food, and an amazing ambiance
Delicious and imaginative offerings for vegetarians and carnivores alike!
Awesome food, great service. The menu has a great selection of all types of food.
Cute space, menu is huge and gives the food a mass-produced over cooked feel. The gingerbread dessert was very good.
The food was awesome and our server Dominique was great! Definitely will be going back.
Wonderful food!! Great pizza food truck. We had a wedding reception catered by Cafe Miranda. We were very impressed and happy with the quality of food and service they deliver to a venue!! I will very highly recommend Cafe Miranda!! Many of our guest took in their restaurant in Rockland, and were not disappointed !!
If only I lived in Rockland! Every time I am nearby I eat here. It's hard not to return to the same favorites extensive -yummy menu. Either inside or out has been a great experience. We did get take out a couple of times that seating was unavailable.
Food is delicious and portions are very worth it. Very popular so be sure to make a reservation. Their popularity is deserved, very quirky and interesting atmosphere that is accented by delightful service and great food. The menu is a little intimidating but everyone will be able to find an option that they will enjoy immensely. The coffee is great and dessert menu is awesome!! Be sure to get an order of Miranda Bread! It is unique and tasty, to be enjoyed with the classic oil and vinegar. 10/10 will go here again!
Kid friendly menu is not as friendly as you would think. Dinner was good.
Impressive menu with something for everyone. Sit at the bar and watch the creativity. Staff is amazing! Warm and engaging even while the place is booked. Make a res.
Great food and we got a table for
Although for some reason the waitress went to take order from table that came in after Us and was a bit snooty when I asked her if she was our waitress....... The pizza was excellent and drinks perfectly made. Reasonable prices.
Amazing! The staff, the food, the decor! Wonderful evening!!
Huge portions, chill atmosphere
Great sandwiches,.dress warm in fall for outside seating, it gets a bit chilly in October ...
Excellent soup dishes and A+ service. Highly recommend!
Funky place food is worth the trip. We have made it MUST eat at every year for 7 years
Great food and experience. Huge menu with lots of choices. Vegetarian and meat lovers will both be pleased! Gets very busy, so worth making a reservation most nights.
I have always had a good experience and there food is very tasty! The people are very friendly and accommodating!
Absolutely fabulous and innovative cuisine. I enjoyed my pasta dish (primavera) immensely, whie my partner had a fabulous Indian-style curry dish (Gnu thing). It is truly impressive to dine at a restaurant that can serve such a wide breadth of styles and cuisines and have mastery over them all. A must while in Rockland.
Wonderful food here. The menu has so many amazing options and the decor of the building is great as well. I had brisket and it was so tender and flavorful. Wait staff was very friendly too.
Love this place!!! Unique options that taste amazing!! We will be back.
Excellent meal The best fish chowder ever!!!
friendly staff, eclectic decor.. THE BREAD, MY GOD THE FRESHLY BAKED BREAD! this beats any ive had and makes this place. make sure you have the waffle fries (poutine) which is a heavy portion with not only gravy soaked fries but garlic, cheese, green onion. the haddock clam chowder is the best ypu'll ever have.
Great portions! Vegetarian food was amazing, and waiters were great love this place!
Amazing food, great atmosphere. This has become my favorite restaurant in Rockland. The Jerry pizza is to die for
Quality and selection great
Friends recommended this restaurant and we could have not been more pleased. Everything was super fresh with high quality ingredients. We saw other dishes coming out that looked equally impressive. Huge menu with something for everyone.
Where shall I begin... Work obligations forced a colleague and myself up to Rockland for the week. After a long days work we decided to reward ourselves with a decent dinner. As we entered the downtown area one couldn't help but notice a seemingly cozy restaurant tucked away just off of the "main drag." As we entered the establishment we were greeted by a nice young lady. It was busy at our point of entry, which excited me because my initial thought process led me to assume that the food must be very good. The dining area smelled great, the tables were filled with huge plates along with extremely generous portions. As we stood there waiting for our table I did find it odd that we weren't provided with a menu to help speed up our process. However once we sat down it all started to make sense. Once we got situated and opened up Cafe Miranda's menu we became overwhelmed with confusion. I have never seen a menu with so many options scattered throughout it in such a disorganized fashion. I started to wonder if this was a restaurant or a grocery store. Our waitress came back with our refreshments in a timely fashion and we decided to start with some appetizers. After navigating through their labyrinth of a menu I decided to go with the Antipasto. BIG MISTAKE. After the app was brought out it only took a few bites for me to figure out that the food was near spoiled. The thick cuts of near rottened prosciutto and old salami were hardened to the point of no return. The lunch meat was folded up like a lawn chair. Their vegetables were soggy and the stinky cheese they provided was no better. The bits a pieces of onion and garlic placed in the Antipasto held the stench of 20 Somali pirates on a hot summer day. Cafe Miranda has potential due to their unique location and comfortable but yet interesting theme. Although I highly suggest downsizing the menu by about 350% rather than attempting to please the masses with a strange variety of options.
Excellent food. Really different and unusual choices. Even needed the cookbook! Sure wish I lived closer! Back to Florida tomorrow.
Best meal in Rockland by far! The worst part of the meal was choosing what to order because the menu is so extensive. My beer was warm but the waitress warned us they had to change the keg. The sea brisket is the way to go!
Has a very wide selection of menu items and the service was good. The food was not very good however. The pork chop was cooked perfectly but sadly did not have any flavor to it. It was served with sweet potato and kale but I was disappointed to be served a bed of sweet potato fries instead of actual sweet potato and greasy kale. Further more, the side of french fries I had ordered were luke warm and soggy. I felt a bit ripped off for the price of the food I had ordered. On an upside, the portions were generous. It's too bad that the food didn't match the rest of the amenities.
Excellent comfort food with generous portions and very friendly staff!
Warm, friendly staff. The menu is varied and delicious!
Food was amazing! Atmosphere is eclectic and service is fast and friendly. Make a reservation and GO!
This place is amazing. The menu had EVERYTHING on it and from what we had they do it all great. Had a Thai pizza it was good, but the mussels.. wow. You need to try them it's the only way you'll want to eat them afterwards. Beer selection was good as well. Call for a reservation just in case it can be busy.
Good high end comfort food. Great variety something for everyone. The "Hot mess" is terrific!
Small place on a side street off Main. Great food! Sit at the bar if you can. Fun!
Dependably great.
My burger and salad were excellent, but my most favourite part of the meal was the fries! Sooo good! The free bread was also quite tasty :)
Excellent eclectic food, vibrant atmosphere.
Wonderful salty eclectic food. Everything seems to be good on the menu, service is friendly fast and efficient. Lots of screaming in the kitchen, someone feels the need to tell out every order as loudly as they can. Lots of odd names on the menu. Lots of people getting turned away without reservations. Don't make that mistake, call ahead.
The place to go in mid coast maine. The menu includes so many things and the bread is just the best.
Great fresh food, homemade sauces, pasta, pizza, brick oven.
Awesome food- sizes are huge so next time we will share so we have room for dessert!
Awesome cozy restaurant in an old converted house. Outdoor seating as well. Fantastic calamari, homemade hummus, bread, and Simply Delish pasta with lobster! So full and so good!!
First time visit. Food was awesome. Service was great. We will come back.
Good was amazing. Beautifully presented and delicious huge portions and reasonable price. Noisy inside lovely outside. Worth the trip to Rockland.
Very warm on a hot summer's evening but good food.
Food looks good but the entire plate tasted like it was cooked in a big pot together... The peaches tasted exactly the same as my sweet potatoes which tasted like pork which tasted like the Demi.
Cafe Miranda is a wonderful gift to the area, we have been thoroughly pleased with each visit. The menu is substantial, as are the offerings on it. The quality of the food is excellent, very creative. Well worth our 2 hour drive from Portland.
Generosity for miles! Great menu
An excellent, wide and eclectic menu backed up by a great cocktail list. My only complaint would be the stupidly large portion sizes. Americans: what is the point of having starters and mains on offer if you can't eat any more after finishing the starter!!!
Hard to get a table but very good food
Cafe Miranda is an experience you must have if you are in the Rockland area! The menu had an amazing selection and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxing! Our server, Lauren, was so incredibly friendly and easy to chat with as she stopped by our table to ask how our honeymoon was going! The food was delicious and the proportions were huge! Go hungry!
I mean, WOW! This is one of my favorite local restaurants...PERIOD. The massive, unusual, and eclectic menu is downright daunting at first. Your first thought is, "There's no way they do all this well". You will quickly be proven wrong. It's a bit loud inside, but if the weather is nice, be sure to enjoy the back patio, or even grab it to go! The food is an experience, and it's impossible to decide, I know. Here are a few of my favorite dishes... Honky Tonk Egg Rolls, Old Thing, Stir Fry(go with the spicy pulled pork), PIEROGIES!, and Hot Mess. It's basically all good. Only complaint, would be that they have a thing for cilantro, but it's never been overpowering. You are likely to find it garnished on so many dishes though...haha
A favorite restaurant - very unique with a great menu. Never disappointed in any dish we try. Some favorites are Chicken Jerry, Fish and Chips, Breezed Up and the pizza.
Tiny little place with a great big menu. I had the scallops- delish! My pal had eggs, potatoes and bacon. I was really delighted with her pile of bacon!
Food is excellent but the portions are way too big. If I were to go back I would split a meal with a companion.
The chefs at this gem should win the Noble Peace Prize. Their food is just that good. The reuben might be the best sandwich in the world. Seriously.
What a cute place, every table has a ceramic salt & pepper shaker on it, yes, I know it's supposed too, what is unique about that each table has a different set on it, now about the food, the ``chowdah´´ is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC, creamy, warming, it has halibut, potatoes, BACON, corn, NICE fresh taste, it is made to order, big enough to share if you want too, my husband had the ``ruben's cousin´´ instead of corned beef, it is made w/pastrami, fries & greens, I had the lobster sandwich, was good, but messy, I guess that's the fun of it, come here for pretty good food, great service, nice atmosphere
This quirky and unique little place proves that Down East food does not need to be boring and predictable. Great service, creative but accessible dishes, large portions, and off-beat decor.
Enjoy camping, history & more than a dozen great hikes at this amazing spot where the mountains meet the sea. The view from Mt. Megunticook is a rare and beautiful treat, not to be missed. Affordable for the whole family and welcoming to furry friends alike.
My favorite place to eat in Rockland. HUGE menu with equally large portions, really relaxing environment with beautiful outdoor seating during the warmer months. Staff is incredibly warm and friendly. I absolutely love their fish cakes. Get the fish cakes!!
My wife and I love coming here when we visit Rockland! Best roasted kale I've ever tasted!
very small but interesting place. The food was good but very unique dishes, more to be different than to be better. Huge selection. I had the genteel haddock which was good but very overpriced for its quality. Someone in my group had vegetable wontons and had food poising. We're not sure it came from here but I was given a dirty fork, a dirty napkin, the coating was coming off of my dish (a wok), and therefore believe that it came from this dinner.
What a menu ..... give yourself plenty of time to order as the menu is extensive and varied. Informal dining with good beers and cocktails. The food was delicious. Best meal we've had since arriving in the US
Amazing menu, great food
Lovely place. Great service, thank you! Wish they were more transparent with gluten. She had to keep asking the kitchen about dishes. Maybe mark your menu?
Tasty food...
First time there, a short wait. DanDan noodles were great, so was the cheese steak bomb. However the cheese steak clearly was enough for 2 or 3 people!
Just there for dinner...had the MPBN card for a 2 for 1 entree....just got the card good for 2019.... the waitstaff tells us it's no good because they are supporting them in a different way??? I asked and they could not tell me how....c'mon...how so quickly they decide....anywho....food was good, waitstaff was ok....next time we are here...we will hit a restaurant that will honor the card.
Gigantic menu so there's something for everyone. Brussel sprout appetizer recommended
Awesome food awesome place
Wonderful food! Large menu.
Amazing food and wonderful people! We went almost towards the end of the day but the energy was still the same. Food was very delicious! You must try their sasparilla!!
