Good baked goods and coffee. Be prepared to empty your bank account.

I was in this morning dressed in my blue collar work attire, and had extremely awful customer service. I felt very out of place and the workers there seemed very unfriendly and put out that I would interrupt their morning by ordering a burrito and coffee. No eye contact, no smiles and absolutely no good vibes like "good morning or have a good day or, I know this is a tough one, but no thank yous were said by any staff. I can say only positive things about the food Quality here, but if your looking for a friendly, accepting atmosphere, I'm sorry to say- don't waste your money or precious time.

If you want to pay to be seen as cool and not food quality, go here. Better options throughout the neighborhood are available when it comes to good quality and good value. This is a place for lonely people to show off what they can waste their money on. While casual seating, be sure to wear upscale attire.

Jeff Irish

Overpriced, dont know how to make a chai tea latte. You rather pay the $5.00 at Starbucks Coffee.

Very nice place

Service was slow, though very pleasant. Expensive for the amount of food you get.

great coffee! Stopped here on our way out of Portland after a wonderful stay at a local airbnb. Got essentials and yummy treats to go and enjoyed them on our way home to NYC.

Good food, especially Chicken Salad sandwich. Friendly staff....

Most of the things I loved about this place are gone. I could walk there and have an amazing breakfast and sit and edit pictures or shop online or read. There was always an abundance of products, many of them locally sourced. I just walked out and won’t be walking back in. It’s like they poured bleach on the whole operation. There’s no heart.

Things I crave when I haven’t been here in awhile: the chicken salad sandwich with fresh dill on perfect sourdough, the Niçoise salad, so healthy and crisp, and oh, the panna cotta, a real tragedy when they run out. Love the clean space, quick service and that I can buy the Caesar dressing to go...

This WAS my favorite place. Now, with new owners, it's the worst! Horrible changes- food quality is terrible and the portions got smaller as the prices went up. I've given it a long time to see if they'll work the kinks out but it's only got worse. I am one of MANY who will no longer support this place. Change is NOT always good- proven by Aurora Provisions. And since most of the staff has left, THAT is not a good sign either. PLEASE PUT IT BACK THE WAY IT WAS- WE HATE THE CHANGES...

The food is good but it seems to be open on someone's whim and seems to be about 15% superfluously expensive. No sandwich is worth 10$

Keith Lachance

Very expensive not very good for price

Great food! Their bakery offers all sorts of goodies with a unique twist! Yum!

If you want to sit down to eat or simply don't feel like cooking, this is one of the best spots to get some quality food. Its not really a restaurant, it's more like a café. I love it! Certainly worth a visit.

Mary Roberts

I just moved right around the corner from this adorable place and it's turned into my daily routine. I love it here!

I love Auroras! I cant tell enough people about it. I honestly go there at least once a week -- they have excellent expresso drinks, breakfast paninis (not available everyday though), brownies, cakes & pies. They have a large variety of chocolate (bars and homemade desserts). You can also pre-order items from their baker. They also have savory delights in a case, too -- chicken, veggies, soups, etc. Large selection of wine, gourmet cheeses, sauces, dips, broths, you name it! Only problem -- closed on Sundays. Boo!

Good food, great coffee, free parking, tolerable service and unfortunately limited hours.

Bakery is fine, overpriced but fine. Catering, however is AWFUL. Save yourself the headache. It’s so overpriced, the catering staff is unresponsive, overall terrible experience.

A Hattaway

Overpriced "gourmet" food market, but fills a void in the neighborhood. They have a small selection of breads, cheeses, crackers, plus other nibbles. They offer sandwiches and baked goods, which are nice. Service on a recent Saturday was painfully slow, though. It's possible someone called out and they were short staffed. There's seating indoors, and picnic tables outside by the parking lot.

Paul Madore

I normally love this place. Sat AM 3/31 there was chaos at the new register and I had to repeat my order 3 times and did not get what I ordered. I felt it was not worth comment because of the stress in the air.....I am a retail person and understand situations. I will go back.....

Freshly baked treats all day long. Tip: Buy anything sitting next to the register as it is the freshest out of the kitchen and that is where the kitchen sets it to cool. Try the polenta cookie.

I have hired Aurora to cater events both small and large, and have been impressed with the quality of food and service. They're my go-to place in Portland -- a city with many, many excellent food options -- when I need to know that the food will be there, on time, and delicious.

Best baked goods I've had in Portland!

Christopher Douglas

A surprising variety of sandwiches and bakery items including many gluten free and vegan. Nice selection homemade soups daily - while it lasts. Great selection of coffees, teas, and wine; in house or to go. There's also an interesting amount of kitchen/ pantry items for sale. It's a very tough neighborhood for finding parking. Their parking lit holds 8-10 vehicles & is shared with the business next door.

Derek Byron

Great little spot for a good sandwich. Also try their cookies.

One of my favorite places in the west end for a quiet morning snack and coffee. Priced accordingly for the quality and freshness. Take home meals, beer/wine, and a selection of locally prepared goodies.

Christopher Bunnell

Super responsive new ownership. Try the Sabbatino morning sandwich, it's one of a kind and fabulous!

Kathryn Soule

Slow checkout-don't go if you're in a hurry!

Excellent!! One of the best sandwiches in my life!

Great takeout or eat in. Casual, sells beer and wine in addition to higher end groceries, cocktail napkins, cards, etc. A little full of themselves but generally ok.

A little pricey, but the breakfast sandwich was amazing. And I love the feel and the food is always good

Not sure whether to rate this 3 or four stars but the other reviews are way too glowing so I will stick with three. I have lived near this place for ten years and have a love/hate relationship with it. Sometimes I go in and have marvelous, friendly service and great food and would rate it as high as five stars; other times my experience isn't so great. Part of the challenge is knowing what to order and how much. I can tell you the coffee, almond bars, russian tea cakes, peanut butter cookies with chocolate in the middle , sandwhiches, cream puffs, and most of the brownies and deli items are top notch. On the negative: one of the brownies they sell is absolutely horrible and I keep forgetting myself and ordering it, some of their cookies are blah, their cupcakes are pretty but pretty darn awful, and the deli items are good but not always good enough to match the steep price. Be carefull when ordering because you can easily end up spending way more than you intend too. Calculate extra carefully with the deli items; unless you still live in the West End because you are loaded. The service is usually friendly and correct, alhough I just ordered a sugar free latte and it was the sweetest most disgusting thing I ever tasted. I still feel sick. Maybe if I say "Unsweetened"" next time they will get me. They keep the place clean, but the atmosphere is rather cold and the echo in the room makes it loud at peak hours. Around lunchtime it can be downright unpleasant to stay and eat there (at least for me.) The furniture isn't particularily comfortable either. The system they have of randomly deciding who to serve around the island can be angering; as I don't know how many times someone who just walked in will be served before me whan I have been standing there for ten minutes. Other times they come in and ask you what you want before you even have a chance to look; which seems nice but after you start looking you have to wait another ten minutes before they get to you again. Try not to take this personally; this is just the crappy system they have.
