I enjoy this little place. Small although there are some small booths in the back I hadn't noticed. Clean and a large variety of gelato and I really liked their sandwiches. There is a sister store in New Orleans on St. Peter street which I don't know

We waited 40 minutes for most of our food to arrive. As I said, MOST, because we had to wait roughly AN HOUR for a potato gallette! I Ordered poached eggs and received hard boiled eggs instead. The location is on Jefferson in Baton Rouge. Good luck to others but they have lost our business.

I have never in my entire life witness such abhorrent management and treatment of staff. My meal was completely ruined by overhearing management belittle an employee. Incredibly disappointing and will not be returning to this location. I would strongly advice corporate to step in and review.

I love this place. The food is delicious! The place is borderline bistro/restaurant. The style is between French and Louisiana cooking. I love their breakfast menu! Crepes, omelettes and quiches! Delicious lunch and the dessert is awesome. Try their sacher torte or parfaits :) It's always clean and is located in what I would call "quaint urban;" The restaurant looks like an old French deli but you're in the middle of shops and roads. Love their outdoor seating area. The service is always timely. I would go here for some unique food.

The worst experience ever I have come cross. Not by the employees it's by the manager ( kaven ) ... I know he doesn't represent the brand because I love this place. How ever if the company don't take action in regard to what he done with me and other customers then that would say it all about this brand and the company. Sitting in line and there is 1 person making salads, 1 person working the register and I see 4 other people bumbling around while there is at least a 4 customer line waiting to order... lady making salad is super nice that’s why I gave them 2 stars

They deserve zero stars. Every time I go there are 5 employees behind the counter but no one looks at the register so they don't have to take our order. After waving and basically screaming at them to get their attention someone drags their feet to the register. Don't expect to get your to-go order right, order 4 things and arrive home with two, then when you call they won't give you a freaking refund until YOU go back to the store. Awful service, won't come back again.

This was my first time coming here. The set up was very confusing and there were no signs telling you what to do. I asked one of the guys behind the counter how it worked and he explained it to me but he had food in his beard which was a little off putting. We finally made it to the front and one of the staff members dropped a glass. The woman at the register was trying to get me to move up in line but the woman cleaning the glass was telling me to stay where I was. I did not want to step in the glass but the woman at the register kept waving me forward. She wasn't very friendly. We ordered our meals and my friend ordered the eggs Benedict. We paid and went to get our drinks and then a woman in the kitchen ran up to the front and told us that they were out of eggs Benedict. So my friend ordered something different. We then waited for almost 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches. The food was good but not great. Will probably not be coming back.

The building and decor is delightful. However, the service leaves much to be desired. The staff was condescendingly rude even when I went out of my way to be a nice customer, and the wait to get my food was really unacceptable. I'm not usually one to complain, I work in retail and have worked in fast food so I know what it's like to have a thankless job but this is really bad. This is my favorite restaurant chain, but after my experience today, I can at least say I'll NEVER eat at this location again.

I like this place but please only hire individuals that treat people with respect. Some of the staff are polite but some (the person I spoke to was black) have too much sass and attitude - like others are below them lol. Do a proper vetting process during interviews. The person also took her sweet time to process orders and was very distracted. I don't have all the time in the day for Her Highness Sassitude to finish her chatting and serve my order. People have places to be.

Let me just start off by saying that I am not one to write reviews--much less, complaints. I am also not one to completely snub the individual who is making my food and supposedly "serving" me by being rude and insensitive. I mean hello, I worked at a restaurant for several years; I, of all people, know how it is. People have been SO rude to me on so many different levels--you wouldn't even imagine (even when it was clearly someone else's mistake)--and being the "fixer" that I am, I have always been someone that responds with understanding and reassurance (I mean, seriously. Think about it--griping about your food is the pettiest and most insensible complaint you can make; And I shouldn't even have to be your scapegoat just because your food wasn't prepared EXACTLY the way you wanted it). So, of course, when I go to restaurants, I'm very cautious of my approach, and especially mindful of the amount of requests I make, because I certainly don't want to be THAT PERSON. That being said, I expect the same amount of respect in return (does the phrase "treat others how you want to be treated" have zero substance nowadays?). So if you're preparing my food and impatiently ask me "what you want?," and I tell you, but you cut me off with "OK I BRING TO THE TABLE" before I even finish and just blatantly disregard me as a person--well, I'm sure most people would not react so kindly given the situation. And I'm sure you're probably wondering "geez who pissed this girl off?" Well...I don't know, but after today, I hope she's out of a job. And I REALLY hope she reconsiders her career in customer service and hospitality, and finds a more suitable field of study--like mortuary science, so that she can yell at however many people she wants without having to be concerned about any rebuttal. *raises finger* And let me just say that I will NEVER return to this location again--whether she is there or not. Hiring those types of people is a HUGE reflection on the owner and the business, and to contribute my time, patience, and money, is to contribute to ignorance. Thank you. **If there was an option for zero or "negative" stars, you can bet that it would've already been chosen.

La Madeleine is just one of those places that I absolutely have to go to when I'm in Louisiana. I keep waiting for them to oipen up a restaurant in Charlotte, but so far it's no dice. Everything here is wonderful, Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Very homey feeling to the place, noone rushes you in and out, you can stay and talk for hours, or read a few pages of your book while drinking coffee alone. A really special place for a really special place.

I ordered a regular size cranberry and pecan salad for $8. What I got was a shallow bowl about the width of my hand (and i have small hands) with mixed salad like you can get at Walmart, cranberries, and pecans. I could make this myself for like $1 or gone to McDonalds and gotten twice the quantity plus grilled chicken for $5. For what you get this product is severely overpriced. La Madeleine seems like the restaurant version of name brand clothing that you pay extra for just because of the name.

This place is a far cry from what it used to be when I worked there 20 years ago. I have been disappointed the last 2 times I have been , the last time was maybe a year ago and then today. Staff was unorganized and it was very confusing to just order what we wanted. All the food on the hot line like quiches etc looked like they had been there all day and very old looking. Crostinis for our soup were at least 2 days old sitting out in the open old, could not even eat they were so stale and chewy not crispy at all. Other food we ordered was also mediocre to subpar all way around Very sad this place has gone so far down hill, most of the great dishes they served are no longer on the menu and current items are not kept fresh or near the quality they used to be.

The last time I visited this restaurant. The wait staff was rude. I witnessed chefs eating literally on the cooking surfaces. People handling money then handling food with ungloved hands. The person that fixed my husband's salad ran her ungloved fingers all over the plate then looked at me funny because I asked for a clean plate. This time I had a to go order, which I will NEVER do again. When you pay $10 for a salad you expect it to be made fresh not 4 hours earlier. When I told the girl I wanted a fresh salad not one that they had made 4 hours earlier and stuck in the refrigerator again I got nothing but rudeness. The croutons were stale and the salad was disgusting. DO NOT EAT HERE!! In my opinion, it is UNSANITARY, NOT FRESH, and the staff is RUDE!!!!

Last time I will ever come here. This is the 4th time I've ordered the french dip sandwich and they forgot the au jus. I also stood there 5 min before anyone even acknowledged me to pick up my order, that was still not ready. It took them 45 min to make my sandwich and everyone looked completely unhappy while working. They had piles of boxes sitting on the counter needing to be bagged for togo. Place sucks.

I love coming here! Atmosphere is wonderful, sometimes I'll come by myself just to read a book or work on my research while I eat. I always get tomato basil soup and a cafe mocha - délicieux! If you haven't been by here yet give them a try, they have something for everyone. My very picky boyfriend loves to try a new type of dessert pastry every time we come.
