First time here. Starting off, the people are very nice. Location is ok, but parking is not adequate. The inside of the restaurant is nice, clean. No issues there. But, the food is very rudimentary and very expensive for lunch. Had the Monte Cristo and it was soggy. Like, very soggy. Comes with basic ruffle chips. Also I had a cup of red beans and rice. Rather bland and didn't really have the right flavor of red beans and rice that I'm accustomed to. The tea was delicious. It was strongly flavored. Which I enjoy. Not the worst I've had but at $16.50 plus $3 tip for lunch, it's definitely way down on my list. Probably wouldn't recommend.

Great portions on the salad and sandwiches for a great price. Shrimp etoufee is very fresh and light and shrimp flavor is very well balanced. The turkey and ham used is very flavorful. Cream spinach soup was great. Friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely make this a new favorite for my wife and I. also great pie and fast service during lunch rush.

I can't comment on the appearance or cleanliness of the restaurant. I ordered the combination plate to go. The Jambalaya was very dry. It seemed to be left over warm ups. There was an awful after taste that is left in your mouth. The other two items were average. Red beans and rice, & shrimp etouffee.

Very satisfying experience! There is plenty to do places to shop places to eat. you think of it it's already provided! There was absolutely nothing dissatisfying with this hotel it's brand-new and I love how they keep the hotel secluded from outsiders that are in the area!

Very nice neighborhood eatery. First, you go to the counter to place & pay for your order, then it's brought to you. For lunch I couldn't decide on red beans & rice or jambalaya, so the owner suggested a cup of each. He also gave me a sample of their clam chowder which was very good. My food was served with fresh bread, and everything was very good. I highly recommend for a good & quick lunch.

Inexpensive and decent. I'd avoid the jambalaya though. Not the best I've had. Keep in mind, the special board is on a separate wall from the chalk board containing the menu. I would have order the special (pimento cheese sandwich) had I known that. Other than that a pleasurable experience. Never saw the bottom of my freshly brewed iced tea, so the service was very attentive. They keep the place clean, and they're very friendly. I'll be back to try either the shrimp salad or chicken salad next time.

This is a fantastic place for soup and sandwich. The creamy soup base is so rich and never disappoints. The chicken and shrimp salad are always fresh. Place is always packed at lunch because the locals know it's always a good place to go!

“Cool place...” Met a friend here for lunch and was surprised at how good the food was. The menu is reasonably priced and lunch was great! Had the Chicken Salad sandwich and a piece of the Almond pie...very good!

Drafty, which isn't unexpected for a older building but it wasn't pleasant. Very limited menu. It felt like things were just put together and not that you had a meal cooked for you. Their chilli tasted like hot dog chilli from a can. Not a place for us, but not terrible.

Light and healthy lunch is best served at Jacquelyn's Cafe. They are super fast with the service too. Clam chowder is surprisingly authentic for a restaurant in Louisiana. I have heard the pie is legendary but have yet to try a slice for myself. You can certainly tell the clientele is made up of mostly regulars and it feels like a good thing.

Aside from the cash register and soda machine, there's no real way to tell this place isn't 50 years in the past. Delightful mayonnaise based sandwiches. Great crab salad.
