Heard this place was good from friends and decided to give it a try. Absolutely great food and staff were very friendly and personable. Got “The G.O.A.T.” A very homely feeling place with an outside section called “Abita Music Garden”. Definitely adding this one to my regulars.
Good food
Food is always great and the service is excellent. I go several times a month and have never been disappointed
Very Nice!
Beautiful small town charm and Southern cooking
Long time customer of this place. Try to avoid the busy times like Sunday right after church lets out but it's well worth it one way or another.
Oh my, excellent place for breakfast, you have to try the Louisiana omelet! Second visit Dec 2018 we had the New Orleans French toast, Cajun country breakfast and a side of biscuits and gravy. Great service, friendly, clean restrooms.
Great meal!
This quaint cafe is mostly a breakfast/lunch place. On Thursday, Friday an Saturday they're open for dinner. Food is fresh delicious and always good.
Excellent friendly service.
Stopped in twice so far. Both times I had a great experience. Food and atmosphere were all great. Food was tasty and came out fast even though they were busy. Staff didn't leave us wanting for anything. And a decent local beer selection. We'll definitely be back.
Love the chicken and waffles. Everyone there very nice.
My 2nd time here from New Orleans and again worth the trip! Even if it's just for the coffee but the food is just as 5 star. Love it, don't change a thing :)
The sweet cream pancakes have a lot of good, powerful flavors and we're griddled perfectly. My chicken and waffles were well seasoned and featured a tasty praline sauce with a generous amount of pecans. The portions were large. They have many coffee options as well as wine, beer, and spirits, some mixed with their coffee. You can take home some beans to brew or pancake mix for later. The building is old and rustic with a aged charm. You can read about its history on the menu. It is smaller, with a main dining area and smaller area of to the side. They have outdoor seating with misters and fans in the wrap-around patio and on the side. We were seated immediately for our brunch at 11 on a Saturday. The waitress was attentive and our food came out in a reasonable amount of time. You can reserve a table ahead of time or just show up and pick your spot. Highly recommended!
Great place for lunch breakfast need help
Cat Fish & Shrimp with Cole Slaw& Baked Macaroni! Try Baked Spud Potato stuffed with Shrimp
Very quaint awesome locals breakfast place
Delicious. We enjoyed. Friendly service.
The food is absolutely delicious. I had a side of mac which was a little bland, but salt and pepper quickly remedied it. The restaurant is exactly like the rest of Abita Springs: quaint, charming and beautiful. They do Louisiana proud.
It was really good food and exceptional service by Kaitlin!!! Highly recommend for everyone.
The place was busy and the food was great despite getting cold waiting for silverware we never got and had to get ourselves. It's packed with people for a good reason and will definitely be back.
Always a great meal! One of our Sunday GoTo's!
Classic old time Louisiana atmosphere with a smart menu and a caring staff. Quality is very consistent over the years I've eaten there. Very reasonable prices. There's a bar and outside seating at picnic tables when the weather's nice along with regular tables inside and out of the main dining area. Ceiling fans and spray misters out front. Can get crowded on Sunday mornings. Highly recommended.
The people are fast n friendly, however I get snowballs like twice a week n I ask for whip cream on top, they write whip cream.... However I always get condensed milk... Plz plz I don't like condense milk, can ya pay attention to what is written by YOU. Thanks for ya help
Great place to eat. Free parking.
Food is always great and too much...great for sharing!
A family-friendly restaurant with delicious food and great customer service
Wonderful place with a vintage feel. Definitely a good spot to grab some breakfast!
My wife and I went for the eve dinning. The rest felt like we were in a meat locker. We were lucky if was 50 degrees. My pasta dish sat under the warming lamp and continued to bake as the wait staff laughed and had a nice chocolate drink together.
I was born and raised in anita. Always nice to meet and dine there
Food was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! Fast, friendly service. Clean restaurant. Melanie was THEE BEST waitress ever! There was another young lady that assisted us as well but I can't recall her name. I wish that we would of had room for dessert because they had a great selection of that as well. Coffee was good and even took a freshly ground bag home. If it's the Lord's will, we will be back.
Abita café is a great place to visit. Good food and welcoming staff. Food portions are generous and fair priced. Can be packed sometimes some come early.
Breakfast was perfect and the quantity was more than plentiful.
Nice place to dine out and the food was great
Well, service was good at the beginning. However tonight after waiting for 10 minutes, making eye contact to two severs, walked past by another, we walked out. Nothings worse than being ignored especially on a DEAD Friday night. Went to momma D’s and LOVED IT!!
Wonderful food and service. Hate to not finsh but sometimes its too much food! Thats a good thing...supper! But today the beignets were lacking. The dough was tough and actually hard, overcooked. Ate them and daughter did not want to complain. Her roast beef had way too much salt. Good usually. The food is superior but today may have been an off day.still 4 stars.
Fun little cafe in Abita Springs. A spot that local people eat at! Had great fried catfish, sliced thin, battered well, and fried perfectly. Dessert was great, too. Liked your little cafe so much we returned two more times. Thank you!
Wonderful service, amazing food, and most importantly great coffee. A must for any cafe enthusiast.
Awesome. Food is great, love eating outdoors there!♥️
Great place for a lunch stop. There was open air courtyard and a covered patio available for dining. the staff was great too, fast and courteous. We had the waitress suggest for us and the choice was great. Try the PB&J burger!
One of my all time favorites.
Very nice food at a great price. Ceilings are very low, thus building is very loud. Staff is great.
It is okay. Nothing to write home about. A bit pricey for what it is.
They were not busy, many servers working, but no one acknowledged our presence. After sitting inside in full view of the staff, we got up and left. We went to Abita Brew Pub instead, and had a wonderful time...with great service and delicious food.
Omg, best roast beef poboy in the state
Best food in abita
Fantastic! Great little Cafe tucked away. Fresh local ingredients, friendly locals! Another of my go-to's
This lil cafe is simply amazing. The charm and food are great, but it’s the tremendous staff of servers that is the heartbeat of this place. I’m sitting here now, for the umpteenth time, and the hustle and smiles that is ever prevalent with these hustling ladies is really impressive. Treat yourself.
Best food on the Northshore! I reckoned L recommend the fried chicken and waffles!
Nice place, good food.
Had the hamburger, hand made. Was real good.
Great coffee, amazing food! So glad we found this place on our vacation!
Always delicious! Great service, Good atmosphere
Oy vey, the service. I live right down the street and have gone at least twice a month for the past 4 months. Today, I was brought the wrong salad, told the salad was exactly the same just missing the sauce, and luckily my husband took it back to get the salad replaced. A very nice lady who has waited on us before took the salad and confirmed it was wrong. Husband finished his meal by the time mine arrived. In that amount of time we saw our server once, and he wouldn’t even say “you’re welcome” when we said thank you. As veterans of the service industry, I’ve rung in orders incorrectly. That’s not a big deal to me. But don’t punish your guest for your mistake. The food here is enjoyable and consistent. The one aside being the shrimp aren’t cleaned. I would order food to go, but it will be awhile before we return to dine in. The Covington location has great service, if a slightly different menu. Three stars for the food.
Best cozy cafe! Great philly steak sandwich
Our favorite spot for breakfast! Delicious food and friendly service.
Good Food, poyboys, seafood and more! In the heart of Historic Abita. Perfect place to eat with family. Outside seating available. Yard for little ones to run while others visit. Snowball stand right next door. Feed their outside pet chicken some left over bread, or play a game of horse shoe while visiting.
Great place to have breakfast lunch or dinner, friendly servers oh, and we love the pet chicken, named omelette
Cozy atmosphere, outdoors under a porch safe from rain and with fans overhead. Good during a hot day. Large portions and great tasting food. The church in the background adds to the charm.
The portions of food were very generous. Gumho was tasty!
Quaint and friendly cafe in Abita . One of the few places with bagel and lox on the North Shore.
Best pancakes ever!
Good food, portions, and service
Great food and service
The food and service you only find at a small town cafe. Unmatched! Wander over to the Mystery House after.
Comfortable outside seating with the fans nice view... Good home-cooked breakfast. I love the place...
Had an excellent breakfast there. Scrambled eggs were terrific but I want to tell everyone about the pancakes. They use butter on the griddle which makes a crispy edge. Usually only get that at home. Loved the place.
They take awesome care of you and treat you like family.
Outstanding service and the best hot sausage poboy I've ever had !
Service was friendly and efficient. There is a lot of food for the price, so it's a great value. The bacon was meaty and crispy with a wonderful smokiness. The hash browns were very flavorful, and had an amazing crust, with well cooked potatoes inside (too often, hash browns are hard and undercooked). The scrambled eggs were average, about the same as I can cook myself at home. The pancake was doughy and undercooked, I ate a few bites but ended up leaving most of it. I did enjoy the flavor of the pancake and would have enjoyed finishing it had it been fully cooked. The biscuit was big and fluffy, but a tad bland. I tried a bite of the grits, they were fine but I am not a fan of grits so I won't comment much about those. Overall, the meal was filling and I look forward to trying something new if I find myself in the neighborhood again.
Good food, good service and very reasonable prices. Enjoyed fried catfish, catfish with etoufille and seafood and andouille sausage gumbo among other things.
One of my favorite places to eat. Food is always good and service is always great!
Service is always good and the food is amazing.the biscuits and gravy is my favorite.the roast beef poboy is great also.the staff is super friendly and quick service.small town charm with big plates of food ..I definitely recommend trying if you haven't you won't be disappointed.the sweet tea is awesome and on weekends they have music sometimes an crawfish.they also have a decent kids menu.and the menu has something for everyone.
The crawfish etoufee is devine.
Great service, everyone was friendly and the food was awesome.
I love stopping in when visiting my family. It's usually our breakfast place before we head back home. Can get pretty busy though! Only open until 2. But during the summer, check out the Snoball stand next door!
If you are in Abita springs and you have to eat you only really have one choice....literally!. it's a good thing it would also be the only choice if there was more there. Great food. Good service ...if you are there you have to try there cuisine. Excellent !
Excellent local cafe ,great food, great people
Good breakfast and coffee options. Good atmosphere. Be prepared to wait on the weekends.
Looking for a Down home cafe in south Louisiana this is the spot , start off with beignet balls and have some corn bread pancakes with
Really great food, good service. Too pricy. A chicken wrap with mac and cheese was 12$ plus tip. It wasn't much more than about 4-6 inches long and 3 wide with a pretty small bowl of mac and cheese. I expected more food.
Wonderful atmosphere and Karen was great!! Very knowledgeable about all the different types of beer and how they were made!
Always great! Have never had a bad meal here.
Such a great place to grab breakfast!! The food was fabulous and the people are so nice here.
Nice clean country cafe. The food was good but did not match the description on the menu. I didn't get any mango , and only got coleslaw on half of the wrap I ordered.I was told the fries were regular fries, but they weren't. The service was fast and friendly, I may eat there again.
Good breakfast, relaxed atmosphere. Always pleased with our meals at Abita Cafe. Had the Sunshine Special- scrambled eggs & cheese, hashbrowns, grits, bacon, a biscuit, coffee and a pancake. Couldn't eat everything - ample serving. Love breakfast there.
Food is good. Un-friendly service experience AND they have styrofoam to-go boxes (Abita is a "green" town).
The food was wonderful and service was friendly.
A great local spot right in the heart of the tiny town of Abita Springs, right off the traffic circle. Order the crabmeat omelet and you won't be disappointed!
Great!!
Great comfort food, and excellent breakfast. Service ++ , and great selection of coffee.
Great cozy little local flavor diner.
I can’t leave a comment about the food bc we were unable to even get a table. I realize this place is first come first serve, so warning... don’t go if you have a large party. I’m happy to wait especially for brunch on a Sunday but don’t be rude. Come on now. This was my first time to come to your restaurant and I don’t know how it works. I went inside to ask a man that was behind a counter filling up beverages just to see if it was even possible for us to get a table? All he did was shake his head(while rolling his eyes), and shrug his shoulders while saying “first come first serve I can’t help you” and then continued on what with he was doing. This is Louisiana and a small town, as a resident of Baton Rouge I know what common curtesy is. Just be nice and respectful to the people around you and you’ll be happier too.
Nice atmosphere Good service. Gumbo way to thick, more like an Irish stew texture. I would go back and recommend it. (But not the gumbo).
If you give someone pancakes you need butter and syrup. The food is excellent. Service was fast except the hiccups.
Sorry, even though this was quaint we are sadden to report it was way Over Priced for the food served... Croud was very loud too... Purchased a specialty drink that stated in the menu $7.99 and we were charged $9.99... Also, not sure the wait staff work as a team because while water glasses were being filled at the table next to us (we had our glasses at the edge of table which were empty) they neglected to turn around to see who else needed water... Sorry to say but will not go back!
Great service and great food at a reasonable price, Abita Springs Cafe might just have to be a regular go-to spot for lunch and brunch. Their burgers are excellent and their breakfasts looked good too. It was crowded and the bathrooms are glorified outhouses from 1856, but everything else is great.
We had the catfish fillets and they were great! Also had a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer and it was great! Staff was friendly and the service was great!
Children loved the pet chicken
Great food and atmosphere. Kid friendly too!
Great food and fantastic service.
Never had a bad meal here and the staff is great. This is one of our favorite placed to go to.
Had breakfast one morning, it was so good we went back for more the next morning.
The food is always very good sometimes there is a little wait but the food is worth the wait
Etouffee was delish! Great location and atmosphere!
Love this quaint small town Cafe. The food is good and reasonably priced and the beer is cold. You can get breakfast in the am and po boys, seafood and other dishes the rest of the day.
The menu is inventive without being too different for picky folks. Great selection of omelets, sandwiches, and fresh gorgeous salads. Sit outside on a beautiful day and enjoy the fabulous friendly service and a visit from Omelet the chicken.
Great food and great waitstaff as well
Excellent home style cooking. Large portions of delicious comfort food. This place is charming. The staff is wonderful. Like stepping back into time. Highest recommendation possible!!! Enjoy!!!
Got the Ultimate Etouffee, it was pretty darn good. Will probably be back.
Fabulous brunch!
Great service, friendly atmosphere
Excellent...
Great food...service is usually good. It's small place and sometimes a little loud. Has beautiful outside porch when weather is good.
Great food and atmosphere for such a small cafe! Outdoor seating when the weather is good.
Delicious food! We were blown away at the local cuisine choices here! I had a fresh fruit salad with raspberry vinaigrette that was out of this world. The fried goat cheese appetizer was also incredible. After dinner we ordered coffee that we expected to be mediocre restaurant coffee, but to our surprise it was as good as any specialty coffee place around, if not better. I definitely recommend Abita Springs Café!
Excellent food, great drinks, friendly service.
Great! Family atmosphere!
Wow!!! Who knew such an awesome restaurant would be in Abita Springs! Breakfast was soooo yummy!
Staff are friendly. Kitchen refused to alter menu item. Be prepared to eat what is listed, regardless of food allergies or dietary desires. Small town cafe feel is nice. I'll be back.
Good neighborhood restaurant. Great service and food. Reasonable pricing. Plus they have a catfish special on Thursday. Fried, broiled or blackened all you can eat great food at a great price
Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Small quaint little place to eat. Great prices as well. Service is best we have had in a while. Definitely a place to go to eat.
The staff is friendly and the food is outstanding. This is a great example of a local restaurant. A must if you are in the Abita Springs area.
Love this place. Tuna salad, must ask them to not overcook it.
It had great food and the prices weren't that bad
It was okay. I ordered an Meat Lovers Omelet breakfast and for the price (12.00) I thought the Omelet was small and not fluffy at all. The hash browns were cooked crispy how I like them but again on the small side.
Awesome food and service
Great little cafe. French press coffee too!
Best beer ever, food was very good too.
We went on Thursday night when they had catfish special. They were extremely busy with all tables full and a line if take out orders. There was one table that was very loud and the small building did little to damper the sound. The Mac and cheese was really good, string beans in bacon was a little salty and slaw was "ok". I had smothered pork chops. It was a fried pork chops with greasy fried onions, onions and mushrooms layered on too under a muddy greasy over spiced gravy. The fried catfish was lightly battered and crispy fried. It was plentiful, hot and lightly fried. Don't look at the menu on line as it is not the same as what is served in the restaurant. We were given the opportunity to purchase a 50% off coupon but declined.
Great lunch spot. Pretty much the same menu as Abita Roasting Co, I believe they are owned by the same group but the Abita Springs Cafe is much better. The food (even the same item as Abita Roasting) is prepared better at the Café and the service is light years better. All the waitresses at the Café seem to have been there a while and they know exactly what they are doing. Turnover seems high at the Co. I really like getting the daily lunch plate at the Café, always very good.
Anita Springs cafe is awesome! All their food is amazing but their sweet cream pancakes put the Cracker Barrel's of the world to shame.
Good food and a friendly chicken
Great ! But for my pocked eggs would rather have crispy muffens
Love this cafe.
Best meal of our voodoo get away... chicken and waffels were the best I have ever had, candy bacon starters were great and mix of coffee cocktails and its own house brew were to die for.
Kind and attentive service my Melanie, and the food was killer. Onion rings are next level good with my delicious cheeseburger po-boy. Other members of my family had breakfast food, pancakes, and eggs, etc.,and they thoroughly enjoyed their meal too.
This is my town cafe, I could come here every day and never get tired of it. The staff is friendly and quick. Their coffee is top notch!
Had a wonderful lunch with my daughter today. She got a stuffed omelette that came with a biscuit and hash browns. I got a shrimp poboy that was awesome. The bread was not overwhelming the shrimp. Fries came with it and they were good. My other daughter ordered a philly cheesesteak burger. She did not like it bc it was gritty and overcooked. Her side was carrot souffle which was very good.
Cute local place for good beer and local flavor.
Awsome food Great service
Great service and nommy breakfast!!
Love the ultimate etouffe. Crawfish etouffe over fried thinly cut catfish
Delightful place and breakfast was wonderful.
Love the "family feel" goods when we are here! YUMMYYY food!!! Great service!!!
On Sunday 1/28/18 we went for brunch. My grand daughter and I met my wife there, once seated we waited and no one bothered to see if we needed anything. After 10 minutes another table is seated and the waitress is on them getting a drink order and rubbing the dogs head they had brought into restaurant. As she walked away I told her no one had waited on us yet, she said someone would be right out. Well 5 minutes later still no one so we decided to leave and go spend our money at the Fat Spoon. As we got up I looked inside and saw almost the entire wait staff just standing behind or around the counter. I walked up and we were leaving because of a lack of service. The waitress i had spoken to came over and said there must have been a miscommunication and that they worked in teams and each thought the other had taken us. I told her I spoke with you and again she gave me the team line. Well this team didn’t play together and left and had a great meal and was well served at the Fat Spoon.
Always consistent quality food. Best burgers in town!!
Great little place for a quick bite. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, good prices. And the AC works great!
Great burger and a beer
Great little cafe. Food was plentiful and delicious. Staff was wonderful.
Great food and great service. Excellent cafe.
Best fried pork chops and hash browns I have had in I don't know how long. Service is friendly and plenty quick. I have never been dissatisfied.
A little pricey, however; it is probably the best option for lunchtime in the immediate Abita Circle area.
Fabulous local restaurant! Servings large (took home enough for breakfast tomorrow), fast service and very personable server. Will definitely be back!
I stop here on bike rides. Good, local spot.
It's a very little Queen City couple good restaurants in the city itself they're very good Abita Cafe in Abita Brewery , a pizza place
Great food in a wonderful little town.
Best fried catfish around!! Truly consistent.
