Great place for coffee or bourbon. Ridiculous selection of bourbon!

Karen Beymer

For the 3rd time I have been disappointed. First time you were closed. The second time there was a line out the door! Today I went right in got my coffe then I was told you had nothing available!! All the workers looked like deer in the headlights. I understand you only do this the 3rd Sunday of the month, however you need to be prepared. Customer service if the name of the game. I will not take the time out of my Sunday to try a 4th time. It’s a shame you have quaint establishment.

I don't drink coffee but this place is great because they have a wonderful staff, great patio and some very fine 'other' beverages. Oh yes, and Extremely dog friendly.

Nice place to have coffee or drinks after dinner. The staff are friendly and they have a large selection of bourbon if you are in the mood. The six of us were there for coffee and conversation. They also sport a great outside patio with a fire pit for cooler weather.

Kimberly Doxsey

Great place. Fresh baked goods, great coffee. Largest selection of bourbon in u.s. great owners. They do a lot of volunteer work and charity. Just a great neighborhood business!

Must try! Whether its coffee or bourbon, get in for a drink. Get an expresso or an old fashioned with Buffalo Trace, either way a win. Cozy, friendly, great service, dog friendly, fire pit, 1000 bourbons (not a typo).

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at the wine tasting event. Kim and Peter are very friendly. Great atmosphere. We are looking forward to the next wine tasting event May 6th.

Joe Kirchner

I really enjoyed my short visit there. Pete was very knowledgeable about his bourbon and other whiskeys. Delightful staff and great atmosphere. Be warned it is a small place and that they try to provide amble seating but it does get tight inside. Weather permitting they have a nice outdoor patio, so will return when its much warmer.

Great coffee, great food, great people! We came first for the coffee, stuck around for the ham & cheese croissants, and kept coming back for the wine bar. Newberry's is a great addition to East Row.

Excellent selection of bourbon, some harder to find items are usually here. Highly recommended if you enjoy a good bourbon.

Would be 5 stars if there were more dessert options. I love that they're open late, as I literally planned my entire date night around ending here for coffee and dessert after a nice dinner. Was quite disappointed with only have 3 to choose from, and I was allergic to all 3. Simple cookies or pie or anything would have gone well with my coffee, instead I ordered a hummus plate. It was delicious, but did not pair well with coffee.

Thanks for letting us sit for over twenty minutes and not acknowledge our presence. I'd especially like to thank the wait staff who saw we were there and did nothing. Thanks.

Kinda disappointed. Went on a 3rd Sunday, got there just before 11 and they were out of most of what we were looking forward to eating. Coffee was just okay. I'm willing to cur them some slack since it was the first week or weekend back open after their extended holiday break. May go back but not worth skipping church, so not going on a Sunday most likely. Had the kids with us, so really didn't get a chance to check out the bar area.

Shannon Leiner

Great bourbon selection and loved our waitress Tina. It’s a cool space with a nice patio for warmer weather. Price points were also very fair. My 3 stars is related to the atmosphere. The owner was at the bar while talking to patrons. While we would have loved to sit at the bar it was completely full, with people waiting to get a seat by the time we left. While very understandable it’s disappointing seeing how many regulars the owner had at the bar on a Friday night and was chit chatting with instead of realizing he had a lot of others who would loved to be able talk to him. The owner seemed liked he’d had a few and one of the regulars was beyond obnoxious. He was so loud it was hard to carry on our own conversations without hearing his story about where he lived in Chicago and everything he’d done. Due to the screaming regular and loudness of the owner we decided to head out and find another bar in the area without screaming regulars. I’m disappointed the owner didn’t let the regular to take it down a notch. 2 other groups left at the same time as us and clearly seemed annoyed as well.

Like the coffee of the month club!

Olaf Roeder

What a neighborhood GEM! The owners make you feel at home. The coffee choices are superb. Any of the food choices are fantastic, made daily and baked fresh. My favorite, the unbelievable BOURBON selection (250+) and the knowledge Peter has about each Bourbon. This is a must visit establishment.

Mike Morgan

Impressive bourbon selection! If you love a great place to grab a nice cocktail, look no further!

James Scott

Weirdly closed despite the hours listed on their website. Signs say they won't open for two months (February) no way of finding out before driving out here, so severely disappointed.

Ed Robinson

Best bourbon collection and service in the area!

Would be a 5-star except for the hours. Great specials, nice service and cozy patio. More of a summer place since they close for several weeks in winter and the inside is rather tight.

4 years ago, I received a “Cease & Desist” from the owner of this business when I created the Hungry Bros. Food Truck brand. He, absurdly, claimed we hijacked his bourbon/coffee/croissant (actually asked me if we had croissants) concept for a mobile food truck concept named Hungry Bros. Candidly, my brother (who I’ve snacked with my entire life) and i responded informing this former-lawyer turned bar owner that we independently hired a freelance designer to create the Hungry Bros. brand. In short, the case never made it to the court system (probably because this retired lawyer’s case was completely unsubstantiated and he realized he didn’t have legalese corroborating his accusations). While enjoying two $25 pours of Weller 12, Peter Newberry (the bar keep) elected to eject us from his establishment while threataning to contact the police. My goal, merely, was to inform him that I didn’t find it necessary for him to “hold down” a young and “up-and-coming” food truck owner opening a brand named Hungry Bros. Food Truck. My opinion: DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS.

Ruth Grothuas

nicest people, nicest dogs, nice wine and bourbon

Great atmosphere and nice people! Good place to have a pour.

Ryan Peterson

Great local coffee spot! And if you catch them on the third Sunday of the month they make a plethora of freash baked goods that are to die for!

Jason Gunnoe

Best Whiskey bar around!

Tom Schraer

Great craft beer selection. Great owner operators.

Branden S

Great little hidden family owned coffee and bourbon bar. Awesome patio atmosphere for groups of friends to relax.

J Davis

What nice little shop. I stopped in for just a simple coffee and was drawn right away to the friendly vibe! Needless to say the coffee was absolutely perfect. Much to my surprise I also found that they have a first rate fully stocked bar as well. The also have outdoor seating should you wish to watch the sun fade. The inside has a very cool trendy but old world feel that makes it quite cozy. Although it might have been the warm and genuine greeting from the person that took my order and brought that great cup of coffee almost instantaneously! I will be back and you should stop in as well! As always, Enjoy!

Mike Everage

Wow! What a wonderful atomosphere! Pete and Kim Newberry are amazing hosts and the bourbon selection is unmatched anywhere. Love It!
